IT'S CALLED 'FRACKING', AND IT'S WHAT 600,000 NEW FRACKING WELLS AND WASTE INJECTION SITES ARE DOING ALL OVER AMERICA! THE RESULTS ARE LEAKS INTO OUR GROUNDWATER, ONTO OUR FARMLANDS ALL ACROSS THIS NATION! FARM ANIMALS ARE DYING "MYSTERIOUSLY", THE LANDS THEY GRAZE ON, THE GRASS THEY EAT, THE LAND ITSELF AND THE HUMANS WHO OWN THEM ARE BECOMING TOO TOXIC FOR LIFE! TOO TOXIC TO LIVE!

A new technology known as hydraulic fracturing - or fracking - has made it possible to extract natural gas from "unconventional" resources trapped in rock formations thousands of feet underground. While this can BE SAID to "help provide energy for America's future", it also poses a very real, a very large, new dangerous threat to humans, to wildlife, and to the environment we all must live in.
Toxic chemicals are used during fracking that can infiltrate and contaminate habitat, waterways, grasslands, farm produce, fruit trees, and even the drinking water that people and wildlife depend on.

With these NEW wells and the hundreds of thousands of old fracking wells and waste injection sites in the U.S., it’s not just LIKELY that our food supply already contains water, plants and animals (meat) contaminated with fracking chemicals, it is CERTAIN! And there is plenty of proof . We've all heard a lot about drinking water contamination, including video proof that people’s water is catching on fire straight out of the faucet (there are MANY videos if you Google, but CBS did a piece on this, so see http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=7362579n), that shouldn’t be our only concern.
Contamination of crops and farm animals that feed on pasturelands and winter hay/fodder, animals raised for OUR food are also sources of exposing humans to fracking chemicals in massive amounts. 

I offer the story of five farm families, from an article found at  http://www.organicconsumers.org/articles/article_27073.cfm. This was the article that cinched my need to offer this blog to you.

<<Their names are Carol, Steve & Jackie, Susan, Marilyn & Robert, and Christine. They share a bond. Two bonds, actually: They all own, or owned, farms. And those farms, along with their own health and the health of their farm animals, have all been ruined by fracking.
The oil and gas industry, along with federal regulators, would have you believe that injecting trillions of gallons of toxic liquid deep into the earth is harmless.

But tell that to Jacki Schilke of North Dakota, who lost two dogs, five cows, chickens – and her health – after 32 oil and gas wells sprouted up within three miles of her ranch. Or Christine Moore, a horse rescuer in Ohio, who sold her farm after a well went up five miles from her farm, creating an oily film on her water and making her too sick to care for her horses.

Of course, not all farm animals are destined for the food chain. Those unfortunate enough to live near fracking wells can tell us a lot about the potential danger from fracking chemicals to our own health. Farm animals have the same susceptibility to disease that we have, but because they are exposed continually to air, soil and groundwater, and have more frequent reproductive cycles, they exhibit diseases more quickly, presaging human health problems. A study involving interviews with animal owners who live near gas drilling operations revealed frequent deaths. Animals that survived exhibited health problems including infertility, birth defects and worsening reproductive health in successive breeding seasons. Some animals developed unusual neurological conditions, anorexia, and liver or kidney disease.

What causes those health problems? Among the hundreds of toxic chemicals used in fracking are arsenic, benzene, ethylene glycol (antifreeze), formaldehyde, lead, toluene, Uranium-238. and Radium-226. The American Academy of Pediatrics’ list of common health problems from exposure to fracking chemicals includes autism, asthma, cancer, heart disease, kidney failure, infertility, birth defects, allergies, endocrine diseases and immune system disorders.

Farmers fighting back
Thankfully, many farmers are fighting back.  Here are the tales of five farmers on the front lines of the fracking fight who are heroically sharing their tragic stories with the world in an attempt to expose the lie that natural gas is “cleaner power.”

Carol French, dairy farmer and cofounder of Pennsylvania Landowners Group for Awareness and Solutions (PLGAS). Carol’s Bradford County farm is surrounded by nine gas wells. Earlier this month, Carol posted to the Fracking Hell Facebook group that she had just lost three calves in nine days. “I have heard from other farmers with ‘changed’ water having similar problems,” she wrote. At the September 2012, Shale Gas Outrage protest in Philadelphia, Carol told the crowd how, two weeks after their water changed, her daughter developed a fever and diarrhea that turned to blood. She lost ten pounds in seven days. Watch Carol’s speech.

Steve and Jacki Schilke North Dakota ranchers. There are 32 oil and gas wells within three miles of Steve and Jacki’s 160-acre ranch. Jacki blames the wells for the loss of two dogs, five cows and a number of chickens, as well as the decline of her own health. Her symptoms began a few days after the wells were fracked, when a burning feeling in her lungs sent her to the emergency room. After that, whenever she went outside she became lightheaded, dizzy and had trouble breathing. At times, the otherwise fit 53-year-old, can’t walk without a cane, drive or breathe easily. She warns landowners against making deals with frackers: “They're here to rape this land, make as much money as they can and get the hell out of here. They could give a crap less what they are doing here. They will come on your property look you straight in the eye and lie to you.” Watch Jacki talk about her experience.

Susan Wallace-Babb, Colorado rancher. One day in 2005, Susan Wallace-Babb went out into a neighbor's field near her ranch in Western Colorado to close an irrigation ditch. She stepped out of her truck, took a deep breath and collapsed, unconscious. Later, after Susan came to and sought answers, a sheriff's deputy told her that a tank full of natural gas condensate less than a half mile away had overflowed into another tank. The fumes must have drifted toward the field where she was working, the deputy said. The next morning Susan was so sick she could barely move. She vomited uncontrollably and suffered explosive diarrhea. A searing pain shot up her thigh. Within days she developed burning rashes that covered her exposed skin, then lesions. Anytime she went outdoors her symptoms worsened. In 2006, she moved to Winnsboro, Texas, a small town two hours east of Dallas. In 2007, Susan testified in Congressional hearings on the health impacts of fracking. For three years her symptoms gradually improved, until she could work in her garden and go about her normal daily routine. Then, in early 2010, Exxon launched a project in an old oil field 14 miles away and began fracking wells to get them to produce more oil. Within months, Susan’s symptoms returned. Marilyn and Robert Hunt, West Virginia organic farmers. The Hunts own a 70-acre organic farm in Wetzel County, where they raise goats, chickens and cattle. When the landman from Chesapeake Energy approached the Hunts to lease their mineral rights, Marilyn did some research then turned down the offer. But that didn’t stop Chesapeake from, as she told ShaleReporter.com, “stealing gas from both sides of our property.” In 2010, Chesapeake received a permit for land disposal near her property and dumped waste on her land. “The water got little white flecks in it, and we started to get sick,” Marilyn said.  “We lost a whole lot of baby goats that got gastrointestinal disorders from drinking the water.” Some of the baby chicks her daughter was raising died of nervous system failure, and the ones that survived were deformed. Interestingly, though, the cattle that drink from the spring water on the highest point of her property were spared any adverse impact, leading Marilyn to believe it was the water contaminated by the fracking waste that caused the illnesses.

Christine Moore, Ohio horse rescuer. Christine Moore and her family lived a dream life rescuing horses deep inside Ohio’s Amish country. When a well was fracked five miles from her house in January 2012, Christine went door to door, begging her neighbors not to lease their land for fracking. But most of the town, many Amish and Mennonite, didn’t listen. Two months after the well near her home was fracked, the water went bad. An oily film formed across the surface of the water in her horses’ bowls. The water inside her home, pumped from her well and filtered through a softener, began giving her severe stomachaches. She sent her horses to a no-kill shelter in upstate Ohio and, in July, sold the property to her neighbor who, according to Tuscarawas County records, has oil and gas exploration leases on multiple properties. <<In Pennsylvania, the oil and gas industry is already on a tear—drilling thousands of feet into ancient seabeds, then repeatedly fracturing (or “fracking”) these wells with millions of gallons of highly pressurized, chemically laced water, which shatters the surrounding shale and releases fossil fuels. New York, meanwhile, is on its own natural-resource tear, with hundreds of newly opened breweries, wineries, organic dairies and pastured livestock operations—all of them capitalizing on the metropolitan area’s hunger to localize its diet.

Tonight’s guests have heard about residential drinking wells tainted by fracking fluids in Pennsylvania, Wyoming and Colorado. They’ve read about lingering rashes, nosebleeds and respiratory trauma in oil-patch communities, which are mostly rural, undeveloped, and lacking in political influence and economic prospects. The trout nibblers in the winery sympathize with the suffering of those communities. But their main concern tonight is a more insidious matter: the potential for drilling and fracking operations to contaminate our food. The early evidence from heavily fracked regions, especially from ranchers, is not reassuring.

Jacki Schilke and her sixty cattle live in the top left corner of North Dakota, a windswept, golden-hued landscape in the heart of the Bakken Shale. Schilke’s neighbors love her black Angus beef, but she’s no longer sharing or eating it—not since fracking began on thirty-two oil and gas wells within three miles of her 160-acre ranch and five of her cows dropped dead. Schilke herself is in poor health. A handsome 53-year-old with a faded blond ponytail and direct blue eyes, she often feels lightheaded when she ventures outside. She limps and has chronic pain in her lungs, as well as rashes that have lingered for a year. Once, a visit to the barn ended with respiratory distress and a trip to the emergency room. Schilke also has back pain linked with overworked kidneys, and on some mornings she urinates a stream of blood.

Ambient air testing by a certified environmental consultant detected elevated levels of benzene, methane, chloroform, butane, propane, toluene and xylene—compounds associated with drilling and fracking, and also with cancers, birth defects and organ damage. Her well tested high for sulfates, chromium, chloride and strontium; her blood tested positive for acetone, plus the heavy metals arsenic (linked with skin lesions, cancers and cardiovascular disease) and germanium (linked with muscle weakness and skin rashes). Both she and her husband, who works in oilfield services, have recently lost crowns and fillings from their teeth; tooth loss is associated with radiation poisoning and high selenium levels, also found in the Schilkes’ water.
State health and agriculture officials acknowledged Schilke’s air and water tests but told her she had nothing to worry about. Her doctors, however, diagnosed her with neurotoxic damage and constricted airways. “I realized that this place is killing me and my cattle,” Schilke says. She began using inhalers and a nebulizer, switched to bottled water, and quit eating her own beef and the vegetables from her garden. (Schilke sells her cattle only to buyers who will finish raising them outside the shale area, where she presumes that any chemical contamination will clear after a few months.) “My health improved,” Schilke says, “but I thought, ‘Oh my God, what are we doing to this land?’”

Schilke’s story reminds us that farmers need clean water, clean air and clean soil to produce healthful food. But as the largest private landholders in shale areas across the nation, farmers are disproportionately being approached by energy companies eager to extract oil and gas from beneath their properties. Already, some are regretting it.
Earlier this year, Michelle Bamberger, an Ithaca veterinarian, and Robert Oswald, a professor of molecular medicine at Cornell’s College of Veterinary Medicine, published the first (and, so far, only) peer-reviewed report to suggest a link between fracking and illness in food animals. The authors compiled case studies of twenty-four farmers in six shale-gas states whose livestock experienced neurological, reproductive and acute gastrointestinal problems. Exposed either accidentally or incidentally to fracking chemicals in the water or air, scores of animals have died. The death toll is insignificant when measured against the nation’s livestock population (some 97 million beef cattle go to market each year), but environmental advocates believe these animals constitute an early warning.

Exposed animals “are making their way into the food system, and it’s very worrisome to us,” Bamberger says. “They live in areas that have tested positive for air, water and soil contamination. Some of these chemicals could appear in milk and meat products made from these animals.”
In Louisiana, seventeen cows died after an hour’s exposure to spilled fracking fluid. (Most likely cause of death: respiratory failure.) In north central Pennsylvania, 140 cattle were exposed to fracking wastewater when an impoundment was breached. Approximately seventy cows died; the remainder produced eleven calves, of which only three survived. In western Pennsylvania, an overflowing waste pit sent fracking chemicals into a pond and a pasture where pregnant cows grazed: half their calves were born dead. The following year’s animal births were sexually skewed, with ten females and two males, instead of the usual 50-50 or 60-40 split.
In addition to the cases documented by Bamberger, hair testing of sick cattle that grazed around well pads in New Mexico found petroleum residues in fifty-four of fifty-six animals. In North Dakota, wind-borne fly ash, which is used to solidify the waste from drilling holes and contains heavy metals, settled over a farm: one cow, which either inhaled or ingested the caustic dust, died, and a stock pond was contaminated with arsenic at double the accepted level for drinking water.
At almost every stage of developing and operating an oil or gas well, chemicals and compounds can be introduced into the environment. Radioactive material above background levels has been detected in air, soil and water at or near gas-drilling sites. Volatile organic compounds—including benzene, toluene, ethylene and xylene—waft from flares, engines, compressors, pipelines, flanges, open tanks, spills and ponds. (The good news: VOCs don’t accumulate in animals or plants. The bad news: inhalation exposure is linked to cancer and organ damage.) >> <end quote>

Many are screaming and scrambling to tap into shale, to extract the small amounts of oil or gas that can be had from that, but wouldn't it be CHEAPER AND BETTER if we spent our money on something, ANYTHING but OIL??? ANYTHING BUT OIL!

And did you know that our government has very recently purchased about 2 billion rounds of ammunition for our DHS/TSA and even for meteorologists, mostly .40 caliber rounds?
In comparison, during the height of active battle operations in Iraq, US soldiers used 5.5 million rounds of ammunition a month.
The other purchases by the DHS include 200 million rounds of .223 and .308, 450 million rounds of .40 caliber, and another 750 million rounds of various calibers including .357 magnum.
Beginning August 15, 2012, the Department of Homeland Security has redacted information relating to the quantity of bullets it is buying following a controversy concerning the agency’s purchase of over a billion rounds of ammo, which many fear is a sign the federal government is preparing for civil unrest in the United States.

Despite the fact that documents are only supposed to be redacted if authorized by Congress or for national security reasons, a solicitation posted on the FedBizOpps website concerning ammunition purchases made by the DHS on behalf of Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) contains numerous blacked out sections. The classified portions of the document include references to the amount of 223 62 and 223 64 grain ammunition being purchased.

Even though government agencies are arming themselves to the teeth, the politicians continue to tell Americans that they shouldn’t be allowed to own guns.

The DHS also purchased no less than 7,000 fully automatic assault rifles last September, labeling them “Personal Defense Weapons.” AMERICAN CITIZENS ARE NOT GOING TO BE ALLOWED SEMI-AUTOMATIC WEAPONS, BUT DHS IS ARMING UP WITH FULLY AUTOMATIC GUNS? WHY? WHY DO YOU THINK?

Mike Riggs of 'Reason' reported that the "marketing team" at the company, Law Enforcement Targets, Inc. sent a statement that said in part, "The goal of NMH is to break that stereotype on the range, regardless of how slim the chances are of encountering a real life scenario that involves a child, pregnant woman, etc. If that initial hesitation time can be cut down due to range experience, the officer and community are better served." Riggs points out that the company "has landed $5.5 million worth of contracts with the federal government." In light of the scrutiny, the organization posted on Facebook "inviting commentary and criticism."
In a shocking call to the company, Blaine Cooper asked a representative whether she was concerned about selling images of pregnant women as targets. She stated that "unfortunately our world is made up of people, pregnant or otherwise, that are gun owners not for the right reasons," adding that the targets were used to "train police officers". The representative seemed a bit taken by surprise over the scrutiny of the "no hesitation" target and explained that the pregnant woman target was "requested...for training."

SEVERAL leaked US Army Military Police training manuals FROM 1985 to 2006 and on to 2012  for “Civil Disturbance Operations” outline how MILITARY assets are to be used domestically to quell riots, confiscate firearms and even kill Americans on U.S. soil during mass civil unrest.
The documents all make it clear that the operations described in the manuals WILL and DO NOW apply to both “CONUS and OCONUS,” meaning inside the Continental United States and outside the Continental United States.

The documents outline how military assets will be used to “help local and state authorities to restore and maintain law and order” in the event of mass riots, civil unrest or a declaration of martial law.

The primary function of military assets will be focused around, “breaking up unauthorized gatherings and by patrolling the disturbance area to prevent the commission of lawless acts,” states the document, adding, “during operations to restore order, military forces may present a show of force, establish roadblocks, break up crowds, employ crowd control agents, patrol, serve as security forces or reserves, and perform other operations as required.”

The manuals also describe how PRISONERS (YOU AND I?) will be processed through temporary internment camps under the guidance of U.S. Army FM 3-19.40 Internment/Resettlement Operations, which outlines how internees would be “re-educated” into developing an “appreciation of U.S. policies” while detained in prison camps inside the United States.

On page 20 of one manual, rules regarding the use of “deadly force” in confronting “dissidents” are made disturbingly clear with the directive that , “Warning shots will not be fired.”

IT JUST GETS WORSE!
Back in 2008, U.S. troops returning from Iraq were earmarked for “homeland patrols” with one of their roles including helping with “civil unrest and crowd control”.

In December 2008, the Washington Post reported on plans to station 20,000 more U.S. troops inside America for purposes of “domestic security” from September 2011 onwards, an expansion of Northcom’s militarization of the country in preparation for potential civil unrest following a total economic collapse or a mass terror attack.

A report produced that same year by the U.S. Army War College’s Strategic Institute warned that the United States may experience massive civil unrest in the wake of a series of crises which it termed “strategic shock.”

U.S. Army Purchases Riot Gear As Fears Over Civil Unrest Grow

It’s not just the Department of Homeland Security that is gearing up for the prospect of civil unrest in America. The U.S. Army also recently purchased a stock of riot gear including batons, face masks and body shields.

The DHS has put out an urgent solicitation for hundreds of items of “riot gear,” in preparation for expected unrest at the upcoming Republican National Convention, Democratic National Convention and next year’s presidential inauguration.

In a previous solicitation, the U.S. Army also put out a contract for riot gear to be delivered to the United States Military Academy at West Point in New York.

The contract, which was eventually awarded to A2Z Supply Corp, included requests to supply riot shields, face shields, batons and body protection.

Rex 84, short for Readiness Exercise 1984, was established under the pretext of a “mass exodus” of illegal aliens crossing the Mexican/US border.

During the Iran-Contra hearings in 1987, however, it was revealed that the program was a secretive “scenario and drill” developed by the federal government to suspend the Constitution, declare martial law, assign military commanders to take over state and local governments, and detain large numbers of American citizens determined by the government to be “national security threats.”

The American Civil Liberties Union cited Project Megiddo in its defense of filmmaker Mike Zieper, whose film about a military takeover of Times Square was removed from the Internet due to FBI pressure.

With many Americans now becoming what some Federal agencies term “pre-revolutionary” , potential civil unrest could spring not just from a poverty-stricken underclass, but also the shrinking middle class. THIS IS WHAT OUR GOVERNMENT MOST FEARS!

The Washington Post today reports on plans to station 20,000 more U.S. troops inside America for purposes of “domestic security” from September 2011, an expansion of Northcom’s militarization of the country in preparation for potential civil unrest following a total economic collapse or a mass terror attack.

“The U.S. military expects to have 20,000 uniformed troops inside the United States by 2011 trained to help state and local officials respond to a nuclear terrorist attack or other domestic catastrophe, according to Pentagon officials,” reports the Post.

Thomas Jefferson said that it was immoral to compel a man to furnish the funds for that which he abhors. The State does exactly this on countless issues. Can we ever grow beyond this?
The history of religious liberty teaches crucial lessons.
For example, a man named Tyndale was burned at the stake for distributing an English language Bible. His goal to let the plough-boy read the scriptures threatened the establishment's monopoly control of information.
Another lesson is that most colonies had established church denominations, paid for with tax dollars. Even "dissenters," were required to fund The State Church. This colonial practice continued even AFTER we defeated the British.
Without those taxes the other side imagined anarchy and chaos."Why, if there's no established church," they asked,"how shall we ensure the development of moral character?" They claimed the decision to end state support for churches was anti-religion and would lead to their demise. The superabundance of houses of worship in virtually every city and village in our country today illustrates that the opposite happened. The absence of the tax made these churches more entrepreneurial and responsive to change. But the absence of a tax for the state denomination was a very real fear at the time, even to guys like Patrick Henry.
Does conscience only matter when it comes to religion, or should freedom of conscience extend to all peaceful life choices? Is there some part of Jefferson's vision that we've yet to fulfill?

Are we as barbarous as our ancestors?
Meet Ray. We'll call Ray a conscientious objector, because he acts out of conscience. People confine this term to those who object to military service. But why do those persons object? It's a question of conscience. Therefore, a conscientious objector is, quite literally, someone who obeys their conscience rather than State edicts.

Today's conscientious objector is yesterday's dissenter.
A conscientious objector is someone who wants the right to divorce a service provider or institution. He is disgusted by what is done in his name under the rubric of democracy, appalled at what is done with the money extracted from him in taxes. He wants to terminate his support.
You may think Ray is noble until I tell you to what he objected: State schooling, otherwise known as "public schools."
Ray loathed The State schooling service. Ray's specific objections aren't relevant. The subject we must keep in sight is...

Ray's conscience.
The only humane way to address the conscience of another is persuasion. Feel free to talk someone out of their position. Ray would've welcomed such a conversation. He could've given you his side of the story.
Ray's objection was deeply rooted, so he did something extraordinary. On the basis that state schools violated his beliefs, he stopped paying property taxes. Ray even wrote a Dear John letter to the school board.
A Dear John letter terminates a relationship. It's a divorce, a secession, a break-up. Ray explained his desire to split from this scheme and live in peace.
Remember, from the previous installment that The State is a bully. Ray began receiving ominous letters about his bill. He responded with more Dear John letters sharing his concerns. But it didn't matter. Eventually, he was, at great personal expense, hauled into court.
At this point, Ray made a very American claim. He quoted Jefferson that it was immoral to compel a man to furnish the funds for that which he abhors.
But the judge came down hard because The State is a cartel. The judge accused Ray of instigating trouble. It was Ray's fault, he claimed, that courts were now involved. He claimed "shock" at Ray's "unrepentant callousness." He piled additional fines on top of Ray's bloated tax bill.
Ray was in turmoil. He was trying to do the right thing -- to obey his conscience.
A principle is a principle. So Ray didn't turn over his money. I think you know what happened next, for The State is abusive. Armed men and women showed up to repossess Ray's house.
Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?
Watch them unravel...
Pursuit of happiness means the ability to pursue your dreams, including home ownership. Armed men and women came to steal that.
Ray told them he wouldn't budge. They threatened to take his liberty, to arrest him.
Ray pulled out a 20 gauge shotgun. It was more symbolic than deterring -- hardly enough to win a confrontation. He waited. When the armed men and women kicked down his door, they saw Ray with the shotgun, and they killed him. They stole his life -- all so that their bosses could teach boys to read, or failing that, at least how to put on a condom.
Ray was a "captive customer."  The cartel said so. Ray never harmed anyone. Yet the judge blamed him, and he was murdered.
Keep in mind. You too, almost certainly, object to something The State does in your name. You resent having to pay for it.

Should YOU -- should any of us -- be coerced, by bribe or by threats, backed by actual violence to fund a service we loathe, particularly if that service violates your conscience?

Should Ray have been treated like Tyndale?
Should each of us, Ray included, be relieved of the Bullying, the Abuse, and the captive nature of the Cartel -- left to live by our own conscience?
Is The State more important than your religious beliefs? ...more binding than your marriage? You can divorce both -- give either a Dear John letter, if you please. But you cannot break up with The State.
Human progress lies in continuing to move in the direction of conscience instead of coercion. We learned the lesson of Tyndale. Can we learn from Ray?>>

Dear World,
Your very lives, the fact that you EXIST honors me. I am honored to share this wee planet with you, each of you. We are ALL but space travelers, hurtling along TOGETHER through the vast universe at mind-boggling speeds, clinging to this blue globe, sharing the same everything... the same sun, stars, moon, resources, world events, seas, atmosphere. We ARE in this thing together, like it or not. We are ALL part of the same lot, of homo sapiens sapiens, so again, like it or not, there we are!

I don't expect nor want you to agree with me on anything! I don't care if your views are as different from mine as night and day. I don't have one molecule in my body that would EVER want you to "see things my way"! How dull that would be, if we all agreed on everything, without subtle nuances that define us as INDIVIDUALS!
I can't imagine ANY of you without 'quirks', without 'idiosyncrasies', without preferring a certain food, drink, color over another, likely NOT the ones I prefer, but how very interesting that we are so different and yet of the same 'family'! How embraceable are our differences! They set us apart, perhaps, but they are NOT things that should cause us FEAR! They should inspire a deep sense of AWE within us, AWE, yes, that we each are so RARE, so UNIQUE, so amazingly remarkable, ALL OF US!

These are the most incredible times! Fraught with danger, but full of wonder, our world has become a place that seems very hard to live in, but, because of our technology, we are also brought closer to one another in many ways. I wanted to utilize that new-found closeness to send this letter to the world's people, to those, like me, who are in it, wondering what we can do, what we can possibly do to understand one another, to make things 'better' between us, to improve our global relationships. 
I am no longer young, but grown old. I have great hope for understanding at this amazing time in my life.

There seems little hope that our governments, our 'officials' will ever have the presence of mind, the compassion, the honor, the wisdom, or the courage to reach out in any meaningful way to bridge these ever-widening gaps in our understanding of each other. It almost seems the 'powers', the 'rulers' of each of our nations want anything BUT for us to continuously be at each others throats!
They seem to pay very little heed to we who have either helped them attain their 'power' or helped them keep it, ignoring what is best for the WHOLE in favor of what the few seem to be driven to GET. They seem to be eager to TAKE, but balk at GIVING BACK to us even a fraction of what we have given them. They ignore the best interests of the WHOLE. They "lead" us into confrontations and situations few of us agree to being in. Many (most?) of our 'leaders' seem motivated by GREED, and by the need to DOMINATE.

We who are not flailing about in the stormy ocean of politics, we who are not concerned with incessantly winning "pissing contests", with one-upmanship, with the flawed 'logic' of "mine is bigger than yours", we who are not given to the warped ideal of SUPREMACY, to the damning LIES of "manifest destiny" nor "empire-building", we who are not at all intent on DECEPTION in order to "WIN" at any cost, we who are simply engaged in LIFE, in LIVING may often find our thoughts turned to something like, "HOW can we bridge these gaps of understanding? WHAT are others thinking, really? HOW do people in other nations view me, my nation, my beliefs, and WHY do they see it that way? Do they know that I am NOT like my derisive "leaders"? Do they know that I am hoping that they and I all have good lives, simply have enough of what we need to sustain us?"

Forgive me, or don't, for stating things so plainly, but I merely want to live out my short time here on the third planet from the sun in peace, in health, with enough of all that is "good" to see me through, but I wish to do so with HONOR, and in TRUTH. 

HONOR... it is such a simple word, but one we seem to have relegated to some unspoken realm of antiquated terminology, a word that exists without pure definition anymore.
HONOR is our individual assertion to one another that we can be trusted to be WORTHY of respect, that we will ALWAYS be exactly what we tell others we are. Honor is in ACTION, in how we truly LIVE our lives, so honor is NOT mere words that SAY we are this or that.
HONOR IS A LIVING ENTITY.
It behaves from within us, describes who we are, bridles our human passions, negates lies we may be tempted to tell, and defines us TO OURSELVES. Honor NEVER lies about anything. Honor separates real human beings from "monsters". Who can even call themselves a human being who has no HONOR?
How can one maintain any semblance of honor without daily evaluation, without gazing long, long WITHIN, to see if anything has minutely changed within us that affects our true honor? If we cannot be trusted to KNOW OURSELVES, to keep a watchful eye on SELF, to police our OWN thoughts, to ask and ask and ask, "IS THAT TRUE? FEAR is what our "leaders" use AGAINST us! FEAR is the whip they use to drive us at each other! FEAR is what they seem to hope we each accept, day after day, year after year, so they constantly SCARE us with sordid tales, with media propaganda, with THEIR version of "truth" which is almost NEVER the truth at all. They INVENT enemies for us, they CREATE the things they want us to FEAR! They tell us what to think, what to believe, what goals we "should" want to have, and they HERD us with FEAR! They do all they can to strip us of our INDIVIDUALITY, of our HONOR.
It seems to me that FEAR is what runs nations anymore. We are taught in America to FEAR you who live in certain areas of this world. We are taught to be AFRAID of certain cultures, of certain beliefs, of certain PEOPLE. Our media helps instill in Americans an unbelievable  FEAR, but some of us have long ago REJECTED that fear-mongering, that propaganda that daily assails our senses to continuously BE AFRAID of some of you out there in other nations.

Dear World, I REJECT FEAR!

I merely want to UNDERSTAND you, and hope to acquaint myself with what you, as individuals THINK, HOW you think, why you think that way, and help you understand what and why I also think as I do. Whether in different ways from you, or similar. I want to know how life is treating you, each one of you. What is your daily LIFE like? What are you doing out there? Can we HELP one another? As individuals, can we HELP one another without thoughts of nation, or cultural differences, or religious doctrines, or none of those at all? Can we just please COMMUNICATE in all honesty, and with honor, with absolute MUTUAL RESPECT what we may find troubling, or disturbing, or what we may find DELIGHTFUL in one another?
CAN we simply state what we feel, without cutting parts out to "spare feelings", or to "avoid confrontation", or to gain an edge against one another?
Could we simply lay all that aside and just get down to KNOWING one another?

KNOWLEDGE IS THE ONLY POWER WE NEED...THE KNOWLEDGE OF ONE ANOTHER'S THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS, THE ABSOLUTE KNOWLEDGE THAT WE ARE LIVING HONORABLY, WHETHER OUR GOVERNMENTS OR ANYONE ELSE ON EARTH ARE OR NOT. FIRST, LET US KNOW OURSELVES, AND HAVING MASTERED THAT, KNOW ONE ANOTHER.

Yes, sometimes, others' choices seem "wrong or right", but because we cannot climb into each others minds, we cannot possibly know what motivates, what drives each choice that another homo sapiens sapiens makes... unless we and they SAY WHY, unless we speak up, unless we simply express our reasons, truthfully, with honesty and honor and without FEAR to one another, we are doomed to misunderstandings, doomed to harbor mistrust and fear of one another. NOTHING can justify our unwillingness to simply present ourselves to one another as honorable, truthful people. What may seem "wrong" for you CAN be perfectly "right" to me, which is why communication without fear or judgement of one another is essential.
Our "rights and wrongs" may never be the SAME.... SO WHAT? SO WHAT? We must choose to VALUE ONE ANOTHER, OR NOT!

HOW dare we JUDGE another if we lack understanding? HOW can we communicate and understand anything without truth and honor to guide us? That is akin to treating a patient without knowing ANY SYMPTOMS! It is like describing the color blue to a person blind from birth!
All we can utilize is the FACT that there is a patient who is ill, and a person without sight. It is left up to us to deliver a cure for the sick, and to create a way of 'visualization' for the sightless. These things are NOT impossible.
Actually, NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE! We've also been lied to about that! NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE!

In 2000, Saddam Hussein announced Iraqi oil would be traded in EUROS, EUROS, NOT U.S. DOLLARS!
MANY said, at the time, that sanctions and an invasion followed because the Americans were desperate to prevent OPEC from transferring oil trading in all its member countries to the EURO!

A gold dinar instituted by Libya would have had serious consequences for the world financial system, but may also have empowered the people of Africa, something African activists say the U.S. wants to avoid at all costs.
AT ALL COSTS?

Some say the US and its NATO allies literally could not afford to let that happen.

Libya/Gaddafi literally had the potential to bring down the dollar and the world monetary system by extension, according to analysts.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy reportedly went so far as to call Libya a “threat” to the financial security of the world. The “Insiders” were apparently panicking over Gadhafi’s plan.

"Any move such as that would certainly not be welcomed by the power elite today, who are responsible for controlling the world's central banks,” noted financial analyst Anthony Wile, editor of the free market-oriented Daily Bell.

“So yes, that would certainly be something that would cause his immediate dismissal and the need for other reasons to be brought forward [for] removing him from power."

According to Wile, Gadhafi’s plan would have strengthened the entire continent of Africa in the eyes of economists backing sound money, not to mention international  investors who have long been concerned over America's INSOLVENCY. 
 It would have been especially devastating for the U.S. economy, the American dollar, and particularly the elite in charge of the banking system.

“The central banking Ponzi scheme requires an ever-increasing base of demand and the immediate silencing of those who would threaten its existence,” Wile noted in a piece entitled “Gaddafi Planned Gold Dinar, Now Under Attack” earlier this year.
“Perhaps that is what the hurry [was] in removing Gaddafi in particular and those who might have been sympathetic to his monetary idea.”

Investor newsletters and commentaries have been buzzing for months with speculation about the link between Gadhafi’s gold dinar and the NATO-backed overthrow of the Libyan regime. Conservative analysts pounced on the potential relationship, too.

“In 2009 — in his capacity as head of the African Union — Libya's Moammar Gadhafi had proposed that the economically crippled continent adopt the ‘Gold Dinar,’” noted Ilana Mercer in an August opinion piece for WorldNetDaily.
“I do not know if Col. Gadhafi continued to agitate for ditching the dollar and adopting the Gold Dinar — or if the Agitator from Chicago got wind of Gadhafi's (uncharacteristic) sanity about things monetary.”  

But if Arab and African nations had begun adopting a gold-backed currency, it would have had major repercussions for debt-laden Western governments that would be far more significant than the purported “democratic” uprisings sweeping the region this year. 
And it would have spelled big trouble for the elite who benefit from “freshly counterfeited funny-money,” Mercer pointed out.

“Had Gadhafi sparked a gold-driven monetary revolution, he would have done well for his own people, and for the world at large,” she concluded. “A Gadhafi-driven gold revolution would have, however, imperiled the positions of central bankers and their political and media power-brokers.”


AMERICAN MEDIA WAS LAX ON REPORTING THIS MIND-BLOWER!
Adding credence to the theory about why Gaddafi had to be overthrown, as The New American reported in March, was the rebels’ odd decision to create a central bank to replace Gaddafi’s state-owned monetary authority. The decision was broadcast to the world in the early weeks of the conflict.

In a statement describing a March 19 meeting, the rebel council announced, among other things, the creation of a new oil company. And more importantly: “Designation of the Central Bank of Benghazi as a monetary authority competent in monetary policies in Libya and appointment of a Governor to the Central Bank of Libya, with a temporary headquarters in Benghazi.” 

[IN JUST A FEW SHORT WEEKS, AMID COMPLETE UNREST IN LIBYA, NOT KNOWING IF THEY WOULD OR COULD MAINTAIN THEIR NEW-FOUND POWER, THESE MOSTLY FINANCIALLY ILLITERATE "REBELS" MADE THAT KIND OF MOVE? 
WHY CHANGE SOMETHING THAT HAD WORKED PERFECTLY FOR YEARS, HAD BROUGHT LIBYA OUT OF POVERTY, SOMETHING THAT THE NATION OWNED, INTO A NEW CENTRAL BANK OWNED BY THE SAME ELITIST SCOUNDRELS THAT OWN AMERICA'S FEDERAL RESERVE?
 WHY TURN OVER ALL OF THEIR RESOURCES TO AN INTERNATIONAL BANKING CARTEL? 
TO SAVE A WORLD-WIDE FINANCIAL PANIC FROM HAPPENING, OR BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T WANT TO BE NEXT AT THE EXECUTIONER'S TABLE?]

Well, the creation of a new central bank, even more so than the new national oil regime, left financial analysts the world over scratching their heads, blogging comments, asking WHY.

“I have never before heard of a central bank being created in just a matter of weeks out of a popular uprising,” noted Robert Wenzel in an analysis for the Economic Policy Journal. 
“This suggests we have a bit more than a rag tag bunch of rebels running around and that there are some pretty sophisticated influences,” he added. 
Wenzel also noted that the uprising looked like a “major oil and money play, with the true disaffected rebels being used as puppets and cover” while the transfer of control over money and oil supplies takes place.

Other analysts, even in the mainstream press, were equally shocked. 
“Is this the first time a revolutionary group has created a central bank while it is still in the midst of fighting the entrenched political power?” wondered CNBC senior editor John Carney. “It certainly seems to indicate how extraordinarily powerful central bankers have become in our era.”

Similar scenarios involving the global monetary system — based on the U.S. dollar as a global reserve currency, backed by the fact that oil is traded in American money — have also been associated with other targets of the U.S. government.
  Some analysts even say a pattern is developing.

Iran, for example, is one of the few nations left in the world with a state-owned central bank. And Iraqi despot Saddam Hussein, once armed by the U.S. government to make war on Iran, was threatening to start selling oil in currencies other than the dollar just prior to the Bush administration’s “regime change” mission.

While most of the establishment press in America has been silent on the issue of Gadhafi’s gold dinar scheme, in Russia, China, and the global alternative media, the theory has exploded in popularity. Whether salvaging central banking and the corrupt global monetary system were truly among the reasons for Gadhafi’s overthrow, however, may never be known for certain — at least not publicly.

BUT LET'S CONTINUE WITH FACTS!

FACT: Libya is Africa’s largest exporter of oil, 1.7 million tons a day, which quickly was reduced to 300-400,000 tons/day AFTER the US-NATO bombing.

Libya exports 80% of its oil: 80% of that to several EU lands (32% Italy, 14% Germany, 10% France); 10% China; 5% USA.

FACT: Gaddafi HAD INDEED been preparing to launch a 'gold dinar for oil trade' with all of Africa’s 200 million people and other countries interested.
He had indeed been working with this since 2002, together with Malaysia.
As of recently, only South Africa and the head of the League of African States were opposed.
Before the invasion of Iraq, Saddam Hussein was in agreement as was Sudan, Burney, then Indonesia, then the United Arab Emirates, and also Iran.

FACT: French President Nickolas Sarkozy called this, “a threat for financial security of mankind”. Much of France’s wealth—more than any other colonial-imperialist power—comes from exploiting Africa.

FACT:  The Central Bank of Libya WAS 100% owned by state (since 1956) and is thus OUTSIDE of multinational corporation control (BIS-Banking International Settlement rules for private interests).

Libya COULD AND DID finance its own projects and do so without interest rates, which reduced the costs by half of what private global banks demand. Libya’s central bank (with three branches in the east including Benghazi) DID INDEED HAVE 144 tons of gold in its vaults, which it could have used to start the gold dinar. (China, Russia, India, Iran are ALSO stockpiling great sums of gold rather than relying only on dollars! ARE THEY NEXT?)

FACT: Gaddafi/ Libya's Central Bank used $33 billion, without interest rates, to build the Great Man-Made River of 4,000 kilometers with three parallel pipelines running oil, gas and water supplying 70% of the people (4.5 of its 6 million) with clean drinking and irrigation water.
 This provides adequate crops for the people making it a competitive exporter of vegetables with Israel and Egypt.

LIBYA WAS ON THE RISE, FINANCIALLY, LIKE NO OTHER AFRICAN NATION! Libya was a beacon to other African nations to follow, to throw off their enslavement of and dependency on the 'WEST', especially on the 'International Monetary Fund, 'World Bank', and the USA!

FACT: Gaddafi/ Libya's Central Bank had also financed Africa’s first communication satellite with $300 million of the $377 cost.
It achieved start-up for ALL Africa, December 26, 2007, and was saving the 45-African nations an annual fee of $500 million previously pocketed by Europe for the privilege of using EUROPEAN satellites! 
This meant much less cost for telephones and other communication systems. Libya was an up-and-coming new financial 'player'!

FACT (a very, very odd fact!) The opposition led by so-called 'former Gaddafi ministers and some Eastern clan leaders' set up a central bank in Benghazi to replace Libya’s central bank even before they have set up a government or an organized army. 
It was immediately recognized by Paris stock exchange and soon other Westerners. This is the first time in history rebels have set up a bank before victory or before having a government.

FACT:  There is absolute evidence from Gaddafi defectors (especially Nouri Mesmari), under France's 'protection', that France started preparing a Benghazi based rebellion against Gaddafi from November 2010, in order to stop his plans to switch from the dollar to a new gold currency. US politician, Rep. Dennis Kucinich confirms this.

On December 23, 2010, Libyans Ali Ounes Mansour, Farj Charrant and Fathi Boukhris met with Mesrami and French officials in Paris. Those three are now part of the Benghazi-based leadership.

US General Wesley Clark (ret.) told Democracy Now (in 2007) that just ten days after September 11, 2001, another general had told him that the Bush government was planning to invade: Iraq, Libya, Syria, Lebanon, Somalia, Sudan and Iran. What they have in common is that they were not members of banks within the BIS, and most of them have LOTS of oil. Saddam Hussein had agreed with France's President  to switch from dollars to Euros in oil trading six months before Bush invaded.

FACT:  While Gaddafi had turned much of his oil sales toward the West, inviting in many of the major oil companies for huge profits (BP, EXXON Mobil, Shell, Total, etc), he did NOT EVER join the U.S. wars against Afghanistan and Iraq, as did most of the other oil-rich Middle Eastern governments.
Nor did he sign on with AFRICOM, a US-inspired pact oriented towards U.S. economic and military benefit in Africa and also oriented to isolate China from Africa’s natural resources.
In fact, China has 50 major economic projects going on in Libya with $18 billion invested. Before the US-NATO invasion, there were 30,000 Chinese workers on these and other projects.
Much of China’s investment is nw destroyed.

FACT:  Human Rights Watch (which some have long called an 'imperialist-oriented NGO') reported that there had NEVER been any type of civilian bloodbath by Gaddafi.

Facts also tell us that in Misurata, for example, with 400,000 population (Libya's second largest city), after two months of war only 257 people were killed, including combatants.
Of 949 wounded, only 22 (3%) were women.
Quite a different story from American MSM propaganda, isn't it?

FACT: As France took the lead, along with UK, to threaten Gaddafi militarily, Gaddafi threatened (March 2) to throw western oil companies out of Libya.

With more blustering from the west, Gaddafi invited (March 14) Chinese, Russian and Indian oil companies to take their place.

On March 17, the US-France-UK got want they wanted for starters from the UN. Resolution 1973, calling only for a no-fly strategy and not a regime shift or troop landings, was not backed by key big powers: China, Russia, Brazil, India and Germany. 

Of the 28 NATO countries, only 14 are involved in the Libyan campaign and only six of those were in the air war.

Denmark is one of those six.
 It spent 70 million kroner ($12 million) in the first two weeks of bombing.
By April 30, it had dropped 297 bombs on Libya.

Denmark’s 2011 defense-war budget is $4 billion annually (22.4 billion kroner) out of $130 billion (671 billion kroner) budget.
It used more money than ever for wars: $250 million annually in Afghanistan, three times 2008 expenditures–$14 billion total in nine years. It used $½ billion in five active years at war in Iraq and continues there with less.

What the US-NATO-EU hoped to achieve was to eliminate the half-reliable partner Gaddafi and replace him with a neo-liberal oriented government that will do their bidding: sign on AFRICOM, kick China out, reverse the government central bank to a BIS private enterprise, continue using dollars of course, and have the lackey leaders join in their permanent wars throughout the Middle East and Africa.

New neo-liberal socio-economic policies would eliminate what the Gaddafi government has provided the entire population through state subsidies funded with oil export sales: the highest standard of living in Africa with free, universal health and education care, and the possibility of studying abroad at state expense; $50,000 for each new married couple to get started with; non-interest state loans; subsidized prices of cars much lower than in Europe; the cheapest gasoline and bread prices in the world (similar to Venezuela), and no taxes for those working in agriculture.

WHY WOULD A PEOPLE LIVING UNDER SUCH PERKS, SO MANY BENEFITS HATE GADDAFI? 

ACCORDING TO OVER 83% OF THEM, THEY NEVER DID HATE HIM, AND THEY DEEPLY GRIEVE HIS DEMISE! 

1.7 MILLION GATHERED IN TRIPOLI TO PROTEST THE FIRST NATO STRIKES! THAT ALONE WAS 1/3rd THE NATION'S POPULATION!

GADDAFI ROAMED FREELY IN LIBYAN STREETS, NOT ONCE COMING UNDER ATTACK FROM HIS PEOPLE, NOT UNTIL HE THREATENED THE INTERNATIONAL BANKING ELITE!

I AM NOT SAYING GADDAFI WAS "SWEETNESS AND LIGHT".

This is not to say that Gaddafi was REMOTELY all that one could want in a leader,
for he was NOT, but he was definitely not as bad as most of U.S.-NATO's allies, such as dictators in the Middle East (House of Saad/Saud!)  and some in Africa, or Asia/India.

What NATO/ U.S. calls "friendly" governments are anything but, especially Saudi Arabia—which sent troops to 'good neighbor' Bahrain to murder hundreds of unarmed protesters, all condoned by the U.S.

REMEMBER THOSE 9/11 "HIJACKER/TERRORISTS ALMOST ALL CARRIED SAUDI CITIZENSHIP? 
DID YOU FORGET THAT PART?

Look at Yemen, Oman, Syria, Egypt, Jordan, where the governments murder hundreds/THOUSANDS of unarmed protesters at will and never saw sanctions, until they ticked-off the WEST.

It seems the US doesn’t like supporting non-violent demonstrators and would rather see them dead.   

WE HAVE BUT TO LOOK AT HOW AMERICA TREATED OCCUPY WALL STREET PROTESTERS, LOOK FURTHER BACK AT KENT STATE, THE CIVIL RIGHTS ERA, LOOK AT THE "NO FREE SPEECH ZONES" RECENTLY PASSED BY CONGRESS, TO SEE WHAT KIND OF HARD-BALL TACTICS OUR OWN GOVERNMENT STOOPS TO, JUST LIKE OUR 'ALLIES'!   

And that is yet another, and one of the most important, reasons for U.S.-NATO taking over Libya: to stop the progressive, dynamic uproar throughout the Arab world. 

If these mostly youth-led revolts could actually win, which would mean replacing the imperialist-backed system and not just a dictator here or there, it might lead to an anti-capitalist revolution.

IT COULD UPEND THE ENTIRE GLOBAL ECONOMIC HIERARCHY!

The REAL reasons we went in to Libya was because Gaddafi was trying to implement the gold dinar currency for oil and commodity purchases, which would have totally destroyed the U.S. dollar's purchasing power.

Just think of the money that leering, traitor-criminal Bernake would have had to print had Gaddafi not been HIT!

Same thing with Iraq, except our long-term good old ally there, Saddam, whom we financed for decades to fight against Iran, threatened to switch from the US dollar to the Euro.

So, QUICKLY, OMG!
Send in the troops, send in NATO troops, or the raping, thieving UN forces to ensure “stability” for the big corporations about to lose those contracts in Libya, those banks that were kicked out, those oil companies Gaddafi booted out, so MORE of Wall Street and the World Bank can rush in to get their contracts to "rebuild" all of Libya that NATO/U.S. destroyed with those thousands of bombs.

And they get the pleasure of indebting the Libyan people forever through the IMF and other central banks worldwide

In case you missed it, in 1953 the U.S. overthrew the democratically elected president of Iran, Muhammad Mussadegh, and replaced him with the pro-western dictator, the Shah, which sent the country into a decline. 

In 1954, the U.S. replaced democratically elected Guatemalan President Jacobo Arbenz Guzman with a military dictator.

In 1960, the US helped undermine Prime Minister Patrice Lumumba, in Congo. 

Throughout the entire world, America and her fellow empire-builders have put them in AND taken them out, as it suits them. 

The list goes on with Gaddafi just another fallen once-upon-a-time ally turned into a bloody slick on the soil of yet another nation scheduled to be owned by the ones who own US, YOU AND ME. 

The general rule of thumb seems to be: strengthen US economy and support western ideology ... OR DIE! 

The "Libyan HUMANITARIAN Crisis" is a cover-story for a plan to shut down Gaddafi's attempt to set up an alternative international currency based on gold. 

It was done to STOP African progress OUT OF POVERTY AND DEPENDENCE ON THE WEST. 

Libya's natural resources, indeed all of Africa's natural resources, are just too sparkly, too desirable for the West to turn away from!

WAS it  the Golden Dinar which was the biggest aspect of this?

Was it a rising African power, a nation showing other nations that they, too, could get out from  under Western control?

Not only would the Golden Dinar have 'screwed' the U.S. dollar if successful, it would have also screwed the Euro too!
Screwing up one currency of the international banking cartel is one thing, but also screwing up the Euro version SEEMS to have been the last straw.
