VOTER FRAUD DISPROVEN, FACTS SHOW G.O.P. LIED!

The current voter registration system is needlessly complex and riddled with mistakes, resulting in over 60 million adult U.S. citizens not being eligible to cast a ballot in the presidential election because they had not filed the "right" paperwork.

By coordinating existing databases, the government could register EVERY eligible voter in America, ALL OF THEM, and ensure that registration did not lapse during a move.

ALSO, AS YOU WILL SEE FROM GOVERNMENT DOCUMENTS AND FROM WELL-KNOWN FACTS, THE MYTH OF VOTER FRAUD IS ACTUALLY A LIE.

LESS THAN 1/100th OF 1%  OF VOTERS IN THE PAST MANY DECADES HAVE BEEN CONVICTED OF VOTER FRAUD!

An overhaul would likely require approval from Congress, a significant obstacle because of the view by many Republicans that easing registration requirements could increase "voter fraud"...AND INCREASE THE NUMBER OF DEMOCRAT OR INDEPENDENT VOTERS, JUST TELL THE TRUTH, BOYS!

THAT VOTER FRAUD BULL IS GETTING MIGHTY OLD!

THE GOP WAS UNABLE TO PROVE VOTER FRAUD BECAUSE VOTER FRAUD ACTUALLY OCCURRED IN LESS THAN 1% ACROSS AMERICA... 0.0003% IN 2000, 0.0006% IN 2004.

MOST OF THE SCREW-UPS IN VOTING WERE CREATED BY THIRD-PARTY "HELPERS" ANXIOUS TO HELP THEIR "PARTY" WIN, NOT BY VOTERS THEMSELVES!
DO THE RESEARCH FOR YOURSELVES!

Out of the 197 million votes cast for federal candidates between 2002 and 2005, only 40 voters were indicted for voter fraud, according to a Department of Justice study outlined during a 2006 Congressional hearing. Only 26 of those cases, or about .00000013%of the votes cast, resulted in convictions or guilty pleas.

26 CASES OF CONVICTED FRAUD IN 4 YEARS OF VOTING?
OUT OF 197 MILLION VOTES?
YES!
LESS THAN 1/100TH OF 1%?
THESE ARE FACTS, PEOPLE, FACTS!

IT'S A LIE THAT VOTER FRAUD IS RAMPANT!

WHAT'S RAMPANT IS VOTER REGISTRATION "GLITCHES", THOUSANDS OF THEM!

IN 10 LONG YEARS, TEXAS, WHO SCREAMED VOTER FRAUD LOUDLY LAST ELECTION, HAS CONVICTED A GRAND TOTAL OF 51 PEOPLE OF VOTER FRAUD, AND ONLY 4 OF THOSE WERE IMPERSONATING A VOTER.
51 CONVICTIONS IN 10 YEARS?

IN FLORIDA, GETTING ATTACKED BY A SHARK HAPPENS MORE OFTEN THAN VOTER FRAUD!

The fraud list does NOT count ONLY convictions.
So some of these cases could be proven unfounded.

NO, VOTER FRAUD IS NOT "RAMPANT"...IT BARELY EXISTS AT ALL...THE GOP LIED AGAIN!

We should also rethink this whole notion that voting should only occur on a certain Tuesday, which is an antiquated 'agricultural' notion from way back.

Why not have voting on weekends?
That would free many working Americans from having to choose to leave work to go vote.

Changing the day of voting would add millions of voters at the polls. Isn't voting the goal?
NO, the goal is getting the right "PARTY" to the polls.

"The point here is that people just don't do that [TRY TO COMMIT VOTER FRAUD]," Lorraine Minnite, an associate professor of public policy at Rutgers University-Camden, said of committing voter fraud. "It just doesn't make sense."

Minnite said there is little to no motivation for voters to attempt to impersonate someone else at the polls or for non-citizens to try and cast a ballot, a right reserved only for citizens. The price for that one vote is up to 5 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000 for citizens and could mean deportation for immigrants.

BE SURE TO TELL YOUR FRIENDS...LESS THAN 1/100th OF 1% OF AMERICAN CITIZENS EVEN SO MUCH AS ATTEMPT VOTER FRAUD.
THE GOP AND CONGRESS HAVE LIED TO YOU AGAIN!

AMERICA CAN FIND AND REGISTER ALL 18-YEAR-OLD MEN FOR THE DRAFT, TO GO LAY THEIR LIVES ON THE LINE FOR AMERICA, BUT CAN'T JUST AS EASILY REGISTER AMERICANS TO VOTE?

THAT'S PURE BULL!

IT WOULD BE FAR EASIER AND LESS EXPENSIVE TO AUTOMATICALLY REGISTER VOTERS THAN TO TAKE A U.S. CENSUS, ISSUE A DRIVER LICENSE, OR CHANGE ONE'S ADDRESS AT THE POST OFFICE!

PEOPLE SCREAM "MODERNIZATION...PROGRESS!" BUT VOTER REGISTRATION HAS NOT CHANGED IN 100 YEARS!

AMERICA TAKES HOLIDAYS, GIVES FEDERAL WORKERS AND SCHOOL KIDS DAYS OFF TO CELEBRATE THE BIRTH OF DEAD PRESIDENTS, BUT ELECTION DAY IS SOMETHING PEOPLE DREAD BECAUSE THEY CAN'T GET TIME OFF TO GO VOTE, FACE LONG LINES THAT ACTUALLY DISCOURAGE VOTERS, HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR ALL SORTS OF "PROOF OF BIRTH, RESIDENCY"?

WHY NOT A NATIONAL HOLIDAY TO CELEBRATE THE FACT WE CAN ALL GO VOTE?
WHY NOT MAKE ELECTION DAY A HOLIDAY?

OREGON HAS HAD "VOTE BY MAIL" FOR 2 DECADES, AND WITHOUT FACING LEGAL PROCEEDINGS TO CHECK TO SEE IF EVERYONE DOTTED EVERY 'i' AND CROSSED EVERY 'T'.

OREGON HAS NEVER COUNTED "HANGING CHADS".

ABOUT 85%, ON AVERAGE, OF OREGONIANS ACTUALLY VOTE...ISN'T THAT AN AMAZINGLY HIGH PERCENTAGE?

OREGON MUST BE DOING SOMETHING RIGHT!

IT'S A LOT HARDER TO MANIPULATE A SIGNED PAPER BALLOT THAN IT IS AN EASILY HACKED VOTING MACHINE.
MAYBE THAT'S WHY WE GOT VOTING MACHINES?
AFTER ALL, WHO WATCHES THOSE WHO WATCH THE VOTE COUNTS, HMMM?

IT COULD BE AS EASY AS BEING BORN...ALL THE INFORMATION NECESSARY TO PROVE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AND THEREFORE THE RIGHT TO VOTE IS ON A BIRTH CERTIFICATE.

WHY NOT, WHEN EACH CHILD REACHES 18, SIMPLY PLUG THAT NAME INTO THE LOCAL 'SUPERVISORS OF ELECTIONS' DATA BASE AND BINGO! GO VOTE!

THE GOVERNMENT CAN SEND OUT THREATS TO YOUNG MEN TO REGISTER FOR WAR, BUT NOT FOR VOTING?

DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY ABSENTEE BALLOTS WERE QUESTIONED BY THE GOP LAST TIME?

DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY MILITARY BALLOTS THEY TRIED TO NEGATE?

DO YOU REALIZE HOW MANY MAIL-IN BALLOTS THEY CHALLENGED?

IT WAS WAR LAST ELECTION, CITIZENS, AND WE NEED TO CHANGE THAT!

DISARM THE GOP DONKEY PARTY...MAKE VOTER REGISTRATION AUTOMATIC!

THERE IS A NICE OUTLINE FOR AUTOMATIC REGISTRATION WHICH YOU CAN READ HERE:
http://www.newamerica.net/files/Automatic%20Voter%20Registration.pdf

Voter registration could be automatic!
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/plum-line/wp/2013/04/08/voter-registration-could-be-automatic/
April 8, 2013

<<There’s absolutely no good reason for such proposals not to be adopted — and not just state-by-state, either.

There’s no good reason for the burden of voter registration to be on the voter, instead of on the government.

Indeed, the United States is unusual in making it hard by requiring a two-step process for eligible voters — that is, registering and then voting. Most world democracies have automatic registration.

And nineteenth century United States didn’t have any voter registration at all.
It worked just fine, just as having no voter registration works just fine in North Dakota right now.

To do it any other way — to place the burden on the voter — is useful for only one reason: if you want to keep people from voting. That’s it. And it’s effective! Especially among those who move often, which tends to be those who are younger and poorer than those who stay in the same place for longer.

Don’t listen to anyone who gives you any other reason. Voter registration is hard in most states because someone who didn’t want people to vote passed a law. That’s the only reason, and it’s a lousy one in a democracy.>>

Republicans have come to believe their success is dependent on less voter participation and more restrictions.

SO if a state government already has the pertinent information, why not make it easy for folks and register voters automatically?
It would still be up to individuals whether to vote or not, but it would be one less barrier.

HERE'S WHAT REPUBLICANS DON'T BROADCAST ALL OVER THE NEWS MEDIA, SOMETHING THAT YOU OUGHT TO THINK ABOUT...

<<More than one third of the problems reported to Election Protection in 2008 were a result of our antiquated voter registration system [NOT VOTER FRAUD!].

Those obstacles disproportionately affect racial and ethnic minorities, low-income Americans, military service members, seniors, students, and Americans with disabilities - groups that are the first to fall through the cracks when our election resources are thin. As of 2006, more than 65 million Americans of voting age - roughly one third of the eligible population - were unregistered:

    Young Voters:
57% of eligible 18-24 year olds were unregistered
    Minority Voters:
51%  of eligible Asians were unregistered
46% of eligible Hispanics were unregistered
39% of eligible African Americans were unregistered
    Less Educated Voters:
53%  of voters with no high school diploma were unregistered
38% of voters with a high school diploma were unregistered
    Low Income Voters:
49% of voters who earn less than $10,000 per year were unregistered

DO YOU SEE THE PATTERN?
DO YOU "GET IT" AS TO WHY THE GOP WAS AND IS TODAY IN AN ABSOLUTE FRENZY, CRAZY TO STOP THESE PEOPLE FROM VOTING?

MOST OF THOSE GROUPS TEND TO VOTE FOR DEMOCRATS OR INDEPENDENTS, NOT FOR ELITIST-LOVING REPUBLICANS.

THE GOP HAS MADE IT CRYSTAL CLEAR FOR DECADES THAT THEY NEVER WANT THESE PEOPLE TO VOTE...YET THEY WONDER WHY THEY DON'T VOTE GOP???

WHEN YOU RIDICULE, CONDEMN, IGNORE, SHOVE ASIDE, USE DEROGATORY TERMS LIKE "USELESS EATERS" AND "LEECHES" ABOUT PEOPLE FOR 100 YEARS, THEY GET THE IDEA YOU JUST DON'T LIKE THEM OR WANT THEM ON YOUR "SIDE". DUHHHHH!

For the record, the Oregon Republican Party has already criticized the idea, saying it shouldn't be "so easy for people to participate" that they fail to become "an informed voter." (Don't ask me to explain this argument; I don't understand it, either.)

Greg Leo, the executive director of the state GOP, added that "the act of registering to vote is part of the responsibility of citizenship, so the BURDEN should remain on voters."

BURDEN?
BURDEN?

BYTHEGODS, THE 'LITTLE MAN", JOE CITIZEN, BLUE COLLAR WORKER, HAS CARRIED ENOUGH DAMNED BURDENS FOR THE FAT CATS IN AMERIKA, INC!

THAT BURDEN MENTALITY HAS SCREWED THE GOP OUT OF MILLIONS OF VOTERS!

KEEP PUTTING BURDENS ON AMERICA'S WORKING CLASS AND THOSE "BEASTS OF BURDEN" WILL TURN AND BITE YOU ON THE BEHIND, IDIOTS!

KEEP RAISING TAXES ON THE LOWER-INCOME PEOPLE SO WALL STREET AND BANKERS CAN PROSPER AND SEE WHAT YOU GET, MORONS!

VOTE AGAINST INCREASED WAGES FOR THE WORKERS IN THIS NATION, AND VOTE FOR TAX BREAKS FOR THE SUPER-RICH AND SEE WHO FEELS LIKE VOTING FOR YOU, DIMWITS!

WELL, OREGON PASSED AUTOMATIC VOTER REGISTRATION ANYWAY, AND WILL LIKELY FACE THE BEST LAWYERS REPUBLICAN MONEY CAN BUY TO RESCIND THAT NEW LAW.

<<Using data transfer methods similar to those used by the Selective Service, election officials could build a single, comprehensive list of voting-eligible citizens who would have to do nothing more than show up at the polls on Election Day in order to cast a valid ballot.

The automatic registration program that the Selective Service undertakes in partnership with state departments of motor vehicles and the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) shows particular promise in the context of voter registration.

Under the auspices of the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 (NVRA), which provides for simultaneous voter registration when citizens apply for a driver’s license, state departments of motor vehicles already process voter registration applications with the assistance of AAMVA.

Not all states fully comply with the NVRA, but the law provides that individuals need only sign an additional field affirming voting eligibility and authorizing their registration in order to vote.

AAMVA’s Help America Vote Verification software already allows departments of motor vehicles to share information with the Social Security Administration and with state election officials in order to verify voter identity.

Other registration models also show promise. Information on all registration-age men who submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is electronically transferred to the Selective Service registrant file through leased lines, a model that allows both automatic registration (for men who elect to be registered on the application) and data sharing (for men who claim to already be registered).

Other agencies, like the Department of Labor, send encrypted, password-protected files containing registrant information to the Selective Service for incorporation into its registrant file.

The Selective Service model shows not only that it is possible for one government agency to transfer information to another, but also that states have a variety of methods from which to choose in undertaking this task.

The notion that a government agency with an interest in building a comprehensive list of a target population might rely on other government agencies and modern data sharing technology to build this list is far from revolutionary.

If it is worth enacting such a system to ensure the robustness of our nation's defense, surely it is worth doing so to nurture the democratic process at the heart of our nation's character. >>

At a Senate Rules Committee hearing on Voter Registration, Committee Chairman Senator Schumer called voter registration "the lifeblood of our republic."

The Lawyers' Committee's Jonah Goldman testified at the hearing, emphasizing that "each election the voter registration system, this relic of the country's pre-Civil War past, blocks millions of eligible Americans from casting a ballot, distracts election officials from performing critical administrative tasks, and needlessly wastes millions of critical dollars at a time when state and local budgets are stretching every penny.
Congress has the power and the opportunity to modernize this system."

In March, the New York Times voiced their support for registration modernization earlier this year. In an editorial titled "Still Broken," the editorial board said:

<<The most important change Congress can make is to require universal voter registration. That would put the burden on states to register eligible voters - identifying them from other government lists such as tax and motor vehicle databases - rather than forcing prospective voters to navigate the obstacle-ridden path to the voting rolls.
States should also be required to make registration permanent so voters are not purged from the rolls because of a move to a new address or a name change.>>

"Voter ID laws applied unequally, study shows"

<<A University of Chicago study has revealed that young minority voters were disproportionately affected by voter ID laws across the country in 2012.

While only about 50% percent of white youth voters were asked for ID in the general election, about  60.8% of youthful Latino voters and 72.9% of young African-American voters were made to present identification before they could vote.>>

<<Twelve years after the startling disarray of the 2000 election, in too many states dismally bad election administration has become the expected course. Hours-long lines, malfunctioning voting machines, and hopelessly confusing ballots are the headlines potential voters see.  How can we expect that busy citizens will not be deterred from voting by the thought of such barriers? Every botched election and new barrier to voting causes even more citizens to completely disengage from their own governance.

This year, we saw thousands of our fellow citizens still wait in those endless lines, cast provisional ballots and file complaints when they were illegally denied the opportunity to vote.  American citizens are literally fighting for their right to vote.  Now it’s time that Congress and President Obama step to that fight.>>

Spring 2013
"Make It Easy: The Case for Automatic Registration"
http://www.democracyjournal.org/28/make-it-easy-the-case-for-automatic-registration.php?page=all

<<This election season, the barriers to voting only grew worse as a multitude of states limited early voting and enacted voter ID laws designed to disenfranchise targeted communities of color, students and other groups.  Since election night, we’ve learned of yet another threat to voting rights.>>

The registration process is plagued by two problems: paperwork and parties. In most states, citizens who wish to vote must obtain and fill out a paper application. Between the 2006 and 2008 elections, for instance, states had to process 60 million registration applications, most of them on paper.

The voter’s information is then entered manually into a statewide database. Errors inevitably occur along the way. Moreover, most states demand that voters notify their election office of a change of address.

Third-party groups compound the heavy costs associated with this paper-driven process. Because we place the burden on individuals to register themselves, third parties inevitably step in to help. The trouble is that not all of them are helpful. These groups can make mistakes; some have even committed registration fraud. One study, for instance, found that one-third of the registration applications submitted in 2008 didn’t result in a valid registration or address change. The problem of third-party involvement goes deeper, however. Political parties take on much of the registration work. Their incentives are skewed, and as a result the electorate can become skewed.

That’s because the political parties’ goal isn’t to register people.
Their goal is to register THEIR people.
>>

AND THAT'S THE BOTTOM LINE...EACH "PARTY" IS MORE CONCERNED WITH VOTES FOR THEIR PARTY THAN THEY ARE WITH SEEING AMERICANS HAVE AN EASY TIME OF EXERCISING THEIR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT TO VOTE.

IT'S NOT ABOUT CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS, IT'S NOT ABOUT THE ABILITY OF ALL AMERICANS TO VOTE, IT'S JUST ABOUT THE  WIN ...THE WIN...AND SCREW EVERYTHING ELSE.
