EEU GOLD-BACKED CURRENCY, THE ALTYN

Global Consequences: Russia Announces Eurasian Union and New Currency, The Altyn.

ABOVE IS THE EMBLEM FOR THE NEW EURASIAN ECONOMIC UNION (EEU) FLAG.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, A "STAR" IS BORN!

ALTYN.
GET USED TO THE WORD.
IT WILL BE THE CURRENCY OF THE NEWLY FORMED EURASIAN UNION, A CUSTOMS UNION, WHOSE CURRENT THREE STATES INCLUDE, RUSSIA, KAZAKHSTAN AND BELARUS.

ALTYN has a very ancient and long-ranging history.

ALTYN MEANS GOLD!
YES, PLANS ARE FOR THE ALTYN TO BE BACKED BY GOLD.

The word altyn has a Turkic origin (not to be confused with Turkish).
The Turkic family of languages includes languages spoken by the Siberian peoples, Tatars, Mongols, and of course, Kazakhs.

Russia always was a multinational country and Turkic languages have been widely spoken in the country for centuries.
In ancient and medieval times, Russians traded and maintained very extensive relations with Asia and the Middle East.
The Silk Road and other important eastern trade routes went through Russia.
Medieval Russians routinely spoke Arabic and Turkic languages just as fluently as their native language.
Seems clear how historically important was the Russian trade relationship with its Eastern neighbors.
AND NOW THEY'RE RENEWING THOSE ANCIENT RELATIONSHIPS!

WORLD ECONOMISTS JUST MAY WANT TO INVEST NOW IN A TURKIC LANGUAGE DICTIONARY?

SAY, DID ANYONE ELSE NOTICE THE CHANGE IN RUSSIA'S CENTRAL BANK LOGO TO A GOLDEN RUBLE LAST APRIL?
GOLDEN RUBLE, GOLDEN ALTYN...WHAT A COINCIDENCE, YES?

Officials stated on the new logo:
"Golden Badge of the Russian national currency, officially adopted by the Central Bank of Russia, will symbolize a sign of stability and security of the ruble gold reserves of the country."

THAT WAS AN ABSOLUTE SLAP IN THE FACE TO AMERICA'S FEDERAL RESERVE, A FINGER POINTED AT OUR WORTHLESS FIAT "MONEY", AND MAYBE AN EXTENDED MIDDLE FINGER TO THOSE NEW SANCTIONS WE PLACED ON "THE OLD BEAR", EH?

AS I REPORTED BACK IN FEBRUARY THIS YEAR, RUSSIA HAS BEEN LEANING IN THIS 'GOLD' DIRECTION FOR QUITE SOME TIME.
[SEE: http://havacuppahemlock1.blogspot.com/2015/02/russia-buying-gold-gold-based-currency.html]

THE U.S. MADE THE MISTAKE OF PUSHING RUSSIA IN THE WRONG DIRECTION... UP AGAINST THE WALL.
THOSE RECENT SANCTIONS MAY JUST COME BACK TO HAUNT AMERICA IN THE VERY NEAR FUTURE.
EVEN AN IDIOT KNOWS NOT TO BACK A BEAR INTO A CORNER!
IN THIS CASE, THAT RUSSIAN "BEAR", PUTIN, IS COMING OUT SLASHING!

"The Presidents of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus have officially announced that the transition of the semi-formal Customs Union into the formal economic Eurasian Union will be expedited and completed by 2015. The Eurasian Union will adopt a new currency: Altyn (In Russian: Алтын).

Vladimir Putin announced that Altyn as the new Eurasian currency was originally planned for 2025, but now, due to the US/EU sanctions against Russia, the transition to Altyn may occur within 3-5 years.

The original idea for creation of a single currency belonged to President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev. In 2012, it was supported by Russia’s President Vladimir Putin. It was originally planned to create a currency in 2025, but the introduction of serious economic sanctions against Russia may begin to accelerate plans for this new currency market.

Other news outlets that reported this news were Pravda.ru and Moskovsky Komsomolets.

The Eurasian Customs Union was launched as a first step towards forming a broader European Union-type economic alliance of former Soviet states.
The member states are planning to continue with economic integration and were set to remove all customs borders between each other after July 2011.

On 19 November 2011, the member states put together a joint commission on fostering closer economic ties, planning to create a Eurasian Union by 2015.
Since 1 January 2012, the three states are a Single Economic Space (SES) to promote further economic integration. The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) is the regulatory agency for the Customs Union.

United States foreign policy opposes the Customs Union, claiming it as an attempt to “re-establish a Russian-dominated USSR-type union amongst the Post-Soviet states”.

Documents from the Eurasian Economic Committee confirm the formation of the Eurasian Economic Union. Kyrgyzstan, Armenia and Tajikistan may join the new financial and economic organization.

Currently the three member states are at stage 3 of their integration process, but aim to reach stage 4 by the end of 2015.
Especially Putin is keen on closing a deal to move away from the petrodollar in conjunction with allies in central Asia."

A treaty aiming for the establishment of the EEU was signed on 29 May 2014 by the leaders of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia, and came into force on 1 January 2015."

Treaties aiming for Armenia's and Kyrgyzstan's accession to the Eurasian Economic Union were signed on 9 October 2014 and 23 December, respectively. Armenia's accession treaty came into force on 2 January 2015.
Although Kyrgyzstan's accession treaty will not come into force until May 2015, provided it has been ratified, it will participate in the EEU from the day of its establishment as an acceding state.

WHAT SORT OF ECONOMIC IMPACT WILL THIS NEW ECONOMIC UNION MAKE ?

SEE THOSE STATS AT THE TOP THAT SAY "#1 IN THE WORLD"?
AND #2, #3, AND #4?

NOT BAD, AGRICULTURALLY, EH?

THE NEXT CHART SHOWS EVEN BETTER STATISTICS...

NUMBER ONE IN NATURAL GAS, AND IN OIL AND GAS CONDENSATE!
LOOKING GOOD, EEU!

Russia’s economy is eight times smaller than that of the US, but by forming a new ‘empire’ on top of a vast amounts of resources this economic block will be a serious threat for the US petrodollar. Russia is now speaking openly about getting rid of the US dollar for trading energy, it’s building its own payment system and closing gas export deals with China – the other Asian empire. The Eurasian Economic Union will be a powerful stab at the US dollar hegemony.

BLOOMBERG PREDICTED THE EURASIAN ECONOMIC COMMISSION WOULD, BASICALLY, DIE ON THE VINE, NOT BE A FACTOR WORTH CONSIDERATION IN THE INTERNATIONAL/GLOBAL MARKET.

AS USUAL, BLOOMBERG EITHER OUTRIGHT LIED TO ITS READERS, PERHAPS SIMPLY TRYING TO CALM ITS READERS DOWN, OR BLOOMBERG IS NOT THE GREAT ECOMNOMIC 'MIND' IT IS TOUTED TO BE?
HAVING SUBJECTED MYSELF TO BLOOMSBERG 'ARTICLES' SINCE 1982, I HAVE TO THINK IT'S A COMBINATION OF BOTH.

In force since 2011, the multilateral CIS Free Trade Zone Agreement establishes a free trade area between the Eurasian Economic Union, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Moldova.

Russia's economic development minister has stated that the Turkish economic minister, Nihat Zeybekci, put forward an initiative for closer cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Union, including the formation of a free trade zone between the union and Turkey.

Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang stated in July 2012 that Vietnam may join the Customs Union: "if there is a political will from our country's authorities, as well as Belarusian and Kazakh partners, we will soon be able to start this process".[http://talkvietnam.com/2012/12/vietnam-and-customs-union-eye-stronger-trade-ties/]
THAT SEEMS TOP BE COMING ALONG NICELY.

The Customs Union completed a free trade agreement (FTA) feasibility study for Vietnam in November 2012 and Vietnamese officials estimated in September 2012 that negotiations could take two years.  Trade between Vietnam and the Customs Union in 2011 was $2.24 billion USD.

As announced by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich on 9 December 2013, Israel is considering signing a free trade agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union. [YES, ISRAEL! http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/world/2013-12/10/c_132954367.htm]

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated at a July 2014 meeting of ambassadors and permanent representatives of the Russian Federation that he was ready to discuss a free trade area between the European Union and the Eurasian Economic Union.

In February 2015, Egyptian president Abdel Fattah al-Sisi announced his country IS READY to sign a free-trade agreement with the Eurasian union.

REESTABLISHING OLD TIES
The union is actively seeking to increase trade with East Asia.
It has commenced talks for official trade cooperation with ASEAN,
and  officials of both unions discussed opportunities for developing cooperation between them.

SOUTH KOREA CLIMBS ABOARD EEU TRADE TRAIN
The South Korean president launched a "Eurasian Initiative", which seeks to connect transportation, electrical, gas and oil links from Western Europe to East Asia.

INTERNATIONAL RELEVANCE?
ABSOLUTELY!
"The Concept of a Coordinated Agro-Industrial Policy for the Member States of the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space has already been approved. Measures for creating and developing an Integrated Information System for the Domestic and Foreign Trade of the Customs Union have been determined. An Agreement on Informational Cooperation in the Sphere of Statistics has been signed.

The transformation of the Customs Union into the Eurasian Economic Union, as well as plans for Kyrgyzstan and Armenia to join the customs «troika», makes the future integration especially significant from an international standpoint. The new Union, which occupies the territory at the heart of the Old World, will in the future become the main link between the industrial Southeast of the Eurasian continent and the western peninsula of Eurasia, Europe.

The steel braces of Eurasia in the form of two rail lines running from China through the territories of Russia and Turkey to Europe will be augmented by an array of gas and oil pipelines between Russia, China and South Korea; between the countries of Central Asia and China, Pakistan, and India; and between Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan. All these projects will require multibillion-dollar capital investments and, naturally, a stable political situation. That is why the leading states of Eurasia are fundamentally opposed to the attempts of extracontinental powers to see their continent as some kind of «grand chessboard».

«The creation of a new Eurasia is not simply a dream. It is a goal which can be reached. A new Eurasia will provide a new influx of investments and jobs. It is essential to once again turn Eurasia into a truly united continent, thus opening a new era,» stated South Korea president Park Geun-hye."

REUNITED AND IT FEELS SO GOOD!   CHINA + RUSSIA.

On 21 May 2014, Russia and China signed a $400 billion gas deal. Starting 2019, Russia plans to provide natural gas to China for the next 30 years.

In 2013, Kazakhstan, another EEU member, and China signed 22 deals worth $30 billion, including several deals enhancing the countries' cooperation in the oil and gas sector.

The Eurasian Economic Union is also using its ARMS INDUSTRY, raw materials, gas and oil reserves, and railways as key assets for trade with other foreign countries.

14 January 2015, "Tunisia hopes to set up free trade zone with Customs Union, EEU"

AND THEN THERE'S THIS WEE TIDBIT:
The emphasis of the Eurasian Union is on economic integration, but this extends into the political and even security realms.
For instance, the use of a single currency and a bureaucracy to manage the economic space would by design translate into Russian domination.
[Stratfor, published by Wikileaks, Eurasian Union Proposal Key Aspect of Putin's Expected Presidency, 19 March 2013. ]

INDIA HAS DECIDED TO TRY TRADE WITH THE EEU

"Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Viktor Khristenko and India’s Union Minister for Commerce, Industry and Textiles Anand Sharma agreed during their meeting in New Delhi on Tuesday to launch negotiations for a Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA) with the three-nation Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan to maximize the bilateral trade turnover between India and Russia. "

AMAZINGLY, BOTH SYRIA AND IRAN HAVE EXPRESSED DESIRES TO JOIN IN WITH THE EEU!

QUITE AN IMPRESSIVE NETWORK, ALREADY!

GOLD, GOLD...WHO'S BUYING GOLD?
August 26, 2014
"According to the World Gold Council, over the last six months, Russia has now increased its gold reserves by 54 tonnes. In the same period Kazakhstan has purchased 12 tonnes.

Russia now has the world’s 6th largest gold reserves, officially higher than both Switzerland’s 1,040 tonnes and China’s 1054.1 tonnes.
As a comparison, in the second quarter of 2009, Russia only had 550 tonnes of gold in its official reserves meaning that their reserves have nearly doubled in just over 5 years.

As well as Kazakhstan, other countries in the region have also actively been increasing official gold reserves this year including Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan."

MAYBE BLOOMBERG MISSED ALL THAT?
NAAAAH.
MAYBE BLOOMBERG HOPED WE'D MISS ALL THAT?
LIKELY.

WHAT CAN I SAY?

MAYBE "GIRD YOUR LOINS! THE RUSSIAN BEAR IS GOING TO ROAR!"?

WE'LL SEE.

WE MIGHT STILL HAVE NUCLEAR WINTER INSTEAD... SAY IRAN AND ISRAEL...

(An old Russian Altyn...needs more gold.)
