BENGHAZI SECURITY TEAM ; WHAT THEY WANT AMERICA TO KNOW

The above video is about 45 minutes long.
The survivors give us part of their side of the story of Benghazi.

NEAR THE END OF THIS LENGTHY BLOG ENTRY YOU WILL FIND ANOTHER, DEEPER INTERVIEW WITH ONE OF THE SECURITY TEAM SURVIVORS, MARK GEIST.

WHAT HE HAS TO SAY IN THAT INTERVIEW IS ALSO IMPORTANT TOWARD HAVING A GRASP OF WHAT WENT ON DURING THAT LONG NIGHT IN BENGHAZI.

The team members want the world to know that Ambassador Stevens and diplomat Sean Smith COULD have been saved had the CIA station chief not delayed their rescue attempt by over half an hour after the fire had been set in the consulate.

Stevens and Smith were LEFT BEHIND, LEFT TO DIE by the ONE CIA operative who was charged with safeguarding them.

That ONE 'man' escaped through a window and ran to the annex and saved himself.

Smith, and later Stevens, were both found in the same building in which he left them.

He is the only one left alive who knows what REALLY happened inside that building, and his story does not hold water, as I have pointed out before.

They want us to know that they and several American military pilots believe U.S. aircraft COULD have gotten them out or stopped the attack BEFORE their two colleagues were killed in the battle at that "top secret" annex (which should NOT have been there).

They believe that it was the Libyan militia which the CIA had hired to help secure the "consulate" who found out about the annex and sold-out the Americans to local militants, that the video that was first mentioned as the cause of the attack was NOT the cause of the attack at all.

They testify that Stevens WAS found alive and taken to hospital by friendly Libyans who admired and respected him, who had been friends to them all.

They are angry that that same CIA 'chief' who made them stand down for half an hour was given a medal for his many failures and errors of judgment and lack of action that night.

They are all sick of seeing Benghazi used as a political tool to garner VOTES for either party.
They want America to concentrate on the VICTIMS, on all who died that night when, as they say, no one HAD to die IF there had NOT been a CIA covert operation going on there, IF requests by Stevens for MORE security had been provided and the locals had NOT been hired, IF that CIA 'chief' had functioned as he SHOULD have and NOT delayed the rescue, and IF the military HAD supplied the air support that was requested time and time again.

It was 13 hours of hell and they lived it, so we owe them our attention for at least an hour or two to hear and read and see what they want to make known to us.

Most of all, we owe the following four men a duty to discover the entire TRUTH of the Benghazi attack.

It doesn't matter WHO is at fault, only that those at fault are brought to JUSTICE, and that we FORCE changes by Congress and the Federal agencies, the State Department so that there is NEVER another Benghazi

ABOVE: U.S. AMBASSADOR TO LIBYA (May 22, 2012 to September 11, 2012),
JOHN CHRISTOPHER STEVENS.

ABOVE: Sean Smith, U.S. Foreign Service, Information Management Officer and former U.S. Air Force Staff Sergeant.

ABOVE: GLEN ANTHONY DOHERTY, FORMER NAVY SEAL, ARRIVED FROM TRIPOLI ABOUT 8 HOURS AFTER THE FIRST SHOTS WERE FIRED INSIDE THE 'EMBASSY' IN BENGHAZI. HE WAS CONTRACTED TO THE CIA.

ABOVE: TYRONE SNOWDEN WOODS, FORMER NAVY SEAL, CONTRACTED TO THE CIA. One of the original six-man security team of American ex-military at the 'embassy' in Benghazi.

BACK IN JANUARY OF THIS YEAR, THREE OF THE SURVIVORS OF THE BENGHAZI ATTACK LOOKED INTO A CAMERA AND TOLD AMERICA THAT THE CIA STATION CHIEF KNOWN AS "BOB" DID NOT, IN ANY WAY, DESERVE THE MEDAL OF HONOR HE RECEIVED.

[MY NOTE:IN THAT INTERVIEW, BECK NEVER CLARIFIED THAT THE MEDAL OF HONOR IS ISSUED TO U.S. MILITARY ONLY, EXCEPT FOR VERY, VERY RARE INSTANCES, OR THAT "BOB", AS FAR AS ANYONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO SEARCH, DIDN'T GET ONE, BUT DID GET A 'MEDAL' FROM HIS CIA PALS IN A "SECRET", CLOSED CEREMONY IN LANGLEY, VIRGINIA IN 2013.]

THE BOOK (AND ENSUING MOVIE) "13 HOURS" SHOWS US HOW WRONG THE MEDIA AND SOME POLITICIANS GOT THEIR STORY OF WHAT REALLY HAPPENED IN BENGHAZI LATE SEPTEMBER 11 TO SEPTEMBER 12, 2012 .

IT IS NOW A CONFIRMED FACT THAT AMBASSADOR CHRIS STEVENS WAS ALIVE AFTER THE ATTACKS WERE REPELLED AND WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL HOSPITAL AFTER THE CIA CHIEF KNOWN AS 'BOB' SAID THEY COULD NOT LOCATE OR RESCUE HIM IN THAT BURNING COMPOUND IN BENGHAZI...BEFORE THE SECURITY TEAM WENT IN THERE.

STEVENS WAS ALIVE WHILE, FOR HOURS ON END, THE STATION CHIEF AND OTHERS SHREDDED DOCUMENTS, PACKED UP EQUIPMENT, HID INSIDE THE ANNEX AND CALLED FOR RESCUE FOR THEMSELVES.

STEVENS WAS ALIVE WHEN THE SECURITY TEAM DISOBEYED THE STATION CHIEF'S ORDERS AND WENT IN, FOUND AND BROUGHT OUT SMITH'S BODY.

HE WAS FOUND ALIVE BY LIBYANS LATER IN THAT VERY SAME BUILDING.

HE REACHED A LOCAL HOSPITAL ALIVE, AS YOU WILL SEE CONFIRMED IN AN INTERVIEW BELOW WITH ONE OF THE SECURE TEAM MEMBERS WHO SURVIVED THAT LONG NIGHT.
HE TELLS US EXACTLY WHERE STEVENS WAS FOUND AND BY WHOM AND CONFIRMS STEVENS WAS TAKEN TO HOSPITAL AND THEY HAD BEEN INFORMED HE WAS ALIVE.

STEVENS SHOWED NO SIGNS OF HAVING BEEN TORTURED AS SOME INITIALLY SUGGESTED. HE WAS IN CARDIAC ARREST WHEN HE ARRIVED AT THE BENGHAZI HOSPITAL.

ABANDONED BY THE SOLE CIA OPERATIVE CHARGED WITH PROTECTING HIM, STEVENS AND HIS COLLEAGUE, 'DIPLOMAT' SEAN SMITH, WERE ON THEIR OWN.

WE NOW KNOW THAT STEVENS USED HIS OWN CELLPHONE TO TRY TO REACH HELP FOR HIMSELF AND SMITH, AFTER THE CIA STATION CHIEF HAD TOLD SUPERIORS THAT HE AND THOSE THERE UNDER HIS COMMAND COULD NOT LOCATE THE TWO MEN WHO HAD BEEN ABANDONED IN THE BURNING BUILDING.

THEY HADN'T GONE OVER TO LOOK FOR HIM.
THE CIA HAD REPORTED TO TRIPOLI AND WASHINGTON THAT THEY COULDN'T EVEN REACH THE BUILDING WHERE STEVENS WAS.

IT TOOK THAT SPECIAL TEAM JUST ONE GRENADE TOSS AND LESS THAN FIVE MINUTES TO GET IN THERE AND START SEARCHING.

THAT WAS THE SAME SMALL BUILDING WHERE SMITH WAS FOUND DEAD BY THE SECURITY TEAM, DESPITE ALL THAT SMOKE WHICH THE MAN WHO ABANDONED THEM SAID HE COULD NOT SEE THROUGH.

IT WAS THE SAME BUILDING WHERE STEVENS WAS LATER FOUND BY LOOTERS AND RESCUED BY SOME OF THE VERY LIBYANS HE HAD COUNTED ON FOR HELP IN THE PAST, FOUND ALIVE... UNCONSCIOUS, WEDGED BETWEEN HIS BED AND THE WALL, AS WE'LL READ LATER.

THEY FOUND HIM IN THAT SMOKE THAT WAS JUST TOO MUCH FOR THE ONE WHO ESCAPED THE BUILDING AND RAN TO THE ANNEX, THEREBY SAVING HIMSELF, AND SAVING NO ONE ELSE...

THAT SPECIAL TEAM WOULD HAVE FOUND STEVENS HAD THEY NOT HAD TO CONTEND WITH THE FORCES AMASSING OUTSIDE AND HAD TO GO PROTECT THAT CURSED ANNEX AND THE SCARED ONES INSIDE WHO WERE STILL SHREDDING AND PACKING AND CALLING FOR HELP.

WHY WAS STEVENS, OF ALL WHO WERE THERE, NOT IMMEDIATELY TAKEN BY THAT ONE LONE CIA OPERATIVE IN CHARGE OF HIS SAFETY TO THE SAFER "SECRET OUTPOST" A MILE AWAY FROM THE INITIAL ATTACK?

WHY WERE THOSE WITH THE STATE DEPARTMENT LEFT BEHIND IN THE MAIN COMPOUND WHILE THE CIA HIGH-TAILED IT TO THE ANNEX?

DID STEVENS AND THE OTHERS FROM 'STATE' NOT KNOW ABOUT THE ANNEX?
WAS IT THAT BIG A SECRET?
IF SO, WHY?

"Kris “Tanto” Paronto, Mark “Oz” Geist and John “Tig” Tiegen have repeatedly and strongly skewered the CIA station chief “Bob,” who has been criticized for his delayed response to the attack. In fact, they went so far as to say the officer in charge didn’t deserve to receive a medal at all."

THE TEAM ALL FEEL THE CIA STAND-DOWN ORDER COST THE LIVES OF THE TWO DIPLOMATS LEFT ALONE IN THE 'CONSULATE' LIVING QUARTERS.

"Now, looking back, the security team said they believed that if they had not been delayed for nearly half an hour, or if the air support had come, things might have turned out differently.

“Ambassador Stevens and Sean [Smith], yeah, they would still be alive, my gut is yes,” Paronto said. Tiegen concurred.

“I strongly believe if we'd left immediately, they'd still be alive today,” he added."

THEY SHOULD KNOW...THEY WERE THERE.
THEY GAIN NOTHING BY LYING ABOUT ANY OF IT.
THEY EACH RECEIVED A 'MEDAL', BUT, AS THEY SAID, SO DID THE COOK AT THAT INSTALLATION.

THEY HAVE ALL PREVIOUSLY MADE STATEMENTS THAT THE CIA STAFF SEEMED UNWILLING TO PARTICIPATE IN THAT LONG, LONG FIREFIGHT, THAT MANY WERE SO BUSY SHREDDING AND PACKING AND SCREAMING FOR RESCUE FROM INSIDE THE 'ANNEX' THAT THE TASK OF STAVING OFF THE ATTACKERS MAINLY FELL TO THE SIX HIRED CONTRACTORS AND A HANDFUL OF LOYAL LIBYAN MILITIA MEMBERS.

WHAT ABOUT THOSE EX-NAVY SEALS WHO WERE KILLED, TYRONE WOODS AND GLEN DOHERTY?

THEY WERE BOTH KILLED DEFENDING THE CIA ANNEX WHILE THOSE IN THE CIA AND STATE DEPARTMENT HID INSIDE.

Neither were killed in the attack on the consulate itself, but in the final attack on that classified CIA 'annex'.

They were killed 7-8 hours after the attack on the consulate began, in a separate attack on what was a Top Secret CIA installation a mile or so away from the consulate.

HOW MANY OF YOU ARE AWARE THAT THE CIA HAS VIDEO OF THAT ATTACK BUT THAT WE WILL PROBABLY NEVER SEE A SECOND OF IT?

FROM THE WASHINGTON POST: Senate investigation

"In their questioning and in the public testimony they invited, the lawmakers managed to disclose, without ever mentioning Langley directly, that there was a seven-member “rapid response force” in the compound the State Department was calling an annex.

One of the State Department security officials was forced to acknowledge that “not necessarily all of the security people” at the Benghazi compounds “fell under my direct operational control.”

[THE TEAM WAS HIRED BY THE CIA AT A COST OF ABOUT $150,000 PER YEAR, PER MAN. THE CIA WAS IN CHARGE OF THAT TEAM.]

And whose control might they have fallen under?
Well, presumably it’s the “other government agency” or “other government entity” the lawmakers and witnesses referred to; Issa informed the public that this agency was not the FBI.

“Other government agency,” or “OGA,” is a common euphemism in Washington for the CIA. This “other government agency,” the lawmakers’ questioning further revealed, was in possession of a video of the attack but wasn’t releasing it because it was undergoing “an investigative process.”

YES, AMERICA, THE CIA CAN REFUSE TO PROVIDE INFORMATION TO CONGRESS OR THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.

That CIA "ANNEX" was outed BY the attack on the consulate.

The "ANNEX" was a CLASSIFIED installation, the existence of which was STILL classified when Congress began its investigation into what happened.

Accompanying the State Department officials’ testimony was an aerial photo of the U.S. facilities in Benghazi, which one of the officials said was “entirely unclassified.”

The U.S. GOP Representative from Utah, Rep. Jason Chaffez interrupted Congressional testimony to point out that the photo being shown to the members contained classified information. objected to the very mention of it when the "ANNEX" was brought up.

“I totally object to the use of that photo,” Chaffetz continued.

He went on to say that “I was told specifically while I was in Libya I could not and should not ever talk about what you’re showing here today.”

Minutes after Chaffetz’s outburst, committee chairman Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) ordered the photo be taken down.

That IS in the Congressional Record.

The plot thickened — and Chaffetz gave more hints.

“I believe that the markings on that map were terribly inappropriate,” he said, adding that “the activities there could cost lives.”

THERE IT IS, A MAJOR TRUTH, BUT THE OLD REP SLIPPED UP AND TOLD IT, NOT MEANING TO.

THE "ACTIVITIES" THERE DID COST LIVES, FOUR LIVES, ACTUALLY...

CONTINUING FROM THE WASHINGTON POST:

"The Republican lawmakers, in their outbursts, alternated between scolding the State Department officials for hiding behind classified material and blaming them for disclosing information that should have been classified.
But the lawmakers created the situation by ordering a public hearing on a matter that belonged behind closed doors.

Republicans were aiming to embarrass the Obama administration over State Department security lapses. But they inadvertently caused a different picture to emerge than the one that has been publicly known: that the victims may have been let down not by the State Department but by the CIA.
If the CIA was playing such a major role in these events, which was the unmistakable impression left by Wednesday’s hearing, having a televised probe of the matter was absurd.

The chairman, attempting to close his can of worms, finally suggested that “the entire committee have a classified briefing as to any and all other assets that were not drawn upon but could have been drawn upon” in Benghazi."

TOO LATE...THE CAT WAS OUT OF THE BAG.

AFTER LIBYANS HAD DISCOVERED THAT THE CIA HAD INTERROGATED PRISONERS THERE, PERHAPS, THE WORD SPREAD QUICKLY.

WHO COULD HAVE TIPPED THE "MILITANTS" OFF TO THAT LITTLE SECRET
BUT OTHER LIBYANS HIRED AS "SECURITY" BY THE MORONS IN THE CIA ?

OR MAYBE LIBYANS WHO WERE BEING USED BY THE CIA TO ROUND UP OR RUN GUNS OUT OF LIBYA LET OTHERS IN ON THAT?

OR...DID THE CIA HIRE LIBYAN SECURITY, INSTEAD OF BRINGING IN U.S. MILITARY AS SECURITY, SO THEY COULD CONTINUE THEIR GUN-RUNNING INTO SYRIA FROM LIBYA AND CONTINUE USING THE "CONSULATE" TO INTERROGATE OTHER PRISONERS, THINKING NEITHER THE LOCALS NOR THE AMERICAN PUBLIC WOULD EVER FIND OUT?

SEE CIA 'running arms smuggling team in Benghazi when consulate was attacked.

Also see, Benghazi documents recovered from the building Stevens occupied show that U.S. diplomats in the consulate were monitoring a series of potential exports in spring and summer 2011 to third-party countries and that one or more were likely to land in Libya.

This seems substantiated by an interview Glen Doherty gave to ABC News about his job to search out and take control of 'MANPADS', shoulder-fired surface-to-air missiles, which the U.S. had supplied to Libyans who were against the Gaddafi regime.

The State Department declined to comment on Doherty's involvement in the MANPADS program.

ASK YOURSELF: WOULD THE U.S. REALLY DESTROY THOUSANDS OF WEAPONS THAT THEY KNEW THE SYRIAN REBELS NEEDED AGAINST ASSAD, WEAPONS THAT COULD BE HANDED OVER OR SOLD IN SYRIA?

"After the fall of dictator Moammar Gadhafi, the State Department launched a mission to round up thousands of MANPADS that may have been looted from military installations across the country. U.S. officials previously told ABC News they were concerned the MANPADS could fall into the hands of terrorists, creating a threat to commercial airliners."

MAYBE THEY WERE CONCERNED THEY COULDN'T GET THOSE BACK FROM LIBYA TO SEND TO SYRIAN "REBELS" AGAINST ASSAD?

JUNE 21, 2012
NEW YORK TIMES

"C.I.A. Said to Aid in Steering Arms to Syrian Opposition"

"The connection between Benghazi and Syrian rebels is stronger than has been officially acknowledged.

Spokesmen for the White House, State Department and C.I.A. would not comment on any intelligence operations supporting the Syrian rebels, some details of which were reported last week by The Wall Street Journal."

BUT A BIGGER BOMBSHELL THAN THOSE HEADLINES WAS DROPPED BY A PULITZER PRIZE WINNER, AN INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALIST WHO FOUND SOMETHING NO ONE IN THE GOVERNMENT WANTS TO TALK ABOUT TO THIS DAY.

"The Red Line and the Rat Line" by Seymour M. Hersh
"Obama, Erdoğan and the Syrian rebels"

AMERICAN MEDIA REFUSED TO PUBLISH HERSH'S FINDINGS.
SOME TRIED EVERYTHING TO DISCREDIT HIM.

ONLY THE LONDON REVIEW OF BOOKS MADE ANY LENGTHY MENTION OF IT.

THAT REVIEW REALLY IS A MUST-READ FOR ANYONE WHO TRULY SEEKS THE FACTS SO WE CAN SEE JUSTICE DONE IN ALL THIS, AFTER FAR TOO LONG. WHETHER THE CIA, STATE DEPARTMENT, OVAL OFFICE OR ALL OF THEM ARE IN ANY WAY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BENGHAZI ATTACK, WE, THE PEOPLE HAVE THE RIGHT TO KNOW AND THE DUTY TO FIND OUT WHY THESE LIVES WERE LOST.

The “red line” refers to President Obama’s threat to attack Syria if the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad used chemical weapons.

The “rat line” was a CIA-organized supply chain running from Benghazi, Libya through southern Turkey and into Syria, which was used to smuggle weapons to the Syrian “rebels.”

The article described efforts by the Turkish government of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to assist Syrian “rebels” of the al-Nusra Front, an Islamist force linked to Al Qaeda, in staging the poison gas attack on Ghouta on August 21, 2013.
Hundreds died in the atrocity, which the Obama White House seized on as a casus belli to bomb Syria.

The Syrian government denied responsibility for the Ghouta attack and blamed the “rebels,” who had every reason to carry out the action, which coincided with the arrival of United Nations weapons inspectors in Damascus to investigate previous gas attacks.

At the time of the attack, Syrian government forces were retaking areas previously held by the US-backed opposition, which was in disarray and on the point of collapse. It desperately needed a supposed government atrocity to provide a pretext for direct US military intervention against the Assad regime.
Hersh’s report substantiates the Syrian government’s claims, using documents and accounts from US intelligence and military sources.

It also provides evidence that President Obama, Secretary of State John Kerry and other US officials knowingly lied to the American people when they insisted that only the Assad regime could have carried out the Ghouta attack and lied again when they told us that US intelligence agencies had proof that Syrian government forces were responsible.

(See: New exposé by Seymour Hersh: Turkey staged gas attack to provoke US war on Syria)

AND REMEMBER, BOYS AND GIRLS, IT WAS JUST ONE OF THE EMBARRASSMENTS OF DADDY BUSH'S REGIME THAT AMERICA (BY OKAY FROM THE PENTAGON OR CDC?) GAVE SADDAM HUSSEIN SARIN PRECURSOR CHEMICALS TO USE ON IRAN, BUT SADDAM USED IT ON THE KURDS INSTEAD.

REMEMBER THOSE PHOTOS AND FILM?
REMEMBER THE CDC BEING BUSTED FOR SENDING OVER BIOLOGICAL WEAPONS?
REMEMBER THAT ALCOLAC WAS SUED FOR THAT AND THAT OVER 30 COMPANIES HAD ALSO SUPPLIED SADDAM THE THINGS HE ASKED FOR?

SARIN...LESS THAN A DROP WILL DO, BUT SADDAM WAS FURNISHED AN ABUNDANCE OF THE CHEMICALS TO MAKE IT, BECAUSE AMERICA CREATES IT IN ABUNDANCE IN OUR WONDERFUL "NATIONAL LABORATORIES".

GIVEN ALL WE'VE READ SO FAR, DARE WE IMAGINE THAT THE CIA OR STATE DEPARTMENT OR THE OVAL OFFICE WILL EVER COME CLEAN ON BENGHAZI?

I BELIEVE WE MUST TURN TO THOSE WHO WERE THERE, WHO ARE NOT AFRAID TO TELL US THE TRUTHS THAT NEED TO BE EXPOSED.

I WOULD CERTAINLY LIKE TO ASK THE TEAM MEMBERS ONE QUESTION, ONE I'VE ASKED PREVIOUSLY HERE IN THE TEA ROOM... DO THEY THINK STEVENS WAS FRAGGED?

We will likely NEVER know all the details of WHY that "annex" was there or what went on inside it.

That will REMAIN classified, to protect whom?
CIA interrogators whom we know HAD "interrogated" Libyan prisoners there just days before the attack?
The CIA operatives who ignored Stevens' and Smith's plight while they frantically gathered what?

WHY didn't they make a major effort to go back to get the two they left behind in that chintzy little "consulate" house but, instead, spent hours shredding what documents, and WHAT was in that more than 100 pounds of crates and boxes they packed onto the rescue vehicles and took with them to the airport as they left Stevens behind?

During the Islamist attack on the U.S. compound in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012, four Americans were killed: Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, Diplomat Sean Smith, former Navy SEAL Glen Doherty, and former Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods.

"The State Department has taken almost all of the public blame for an error that was in part the fault of the CIA.

And while CIA CONTRACTORS performed heroically on the evening of the Benghazi attacks, 'Bob' was also responsible in part for one major failure the night of the Benghazi attack: his officers were responsible for vetting the February 17 Martyr’s Brigade, the militia that was supposed to be the first responder on the night of the attack, but melted away when the diplomatic mission was attacked.

The CIA’s own internal review was NOT led by outside figures like the State Department’s Accountability Review Board (ARB) headed by a former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen, and a former U.S. ambassador, Thomas Pickering.
Nor was the CIA review made public.

THE CIA INVESTIGATING THE CIA?
WHAT CAN WE EXPECT FROM THAT?
A PACK OF LIES, MAYBE?

A U.S. intelligence official said the failure for the CIA at Benghazi was the mistaken assumption that the Zintan tribe in Benghazi—that provided many of the fighters for the February 17 Martyr’s Brigade—would have the same loyalties as the Zintan tribe in Tripoli, which had protected several senior U.S. officials including Hillary Clinton in her visit last year to Libya.

“The CIA failed at mapping the human terrain,” this official said.

“They [THE CIA] did not understand the politics in Benghazi and we paid the price.”

The State Department’s own Accountability Review Board (ARB) found there was a 23-minute gap between the initial distress call from the diplomatic mission at 9:42 local Benghazi time to the time when the CIA contractors departed the annex to try to rescue Stevens at 10:05 pm.

The initial delay, according to two intelligence officials, could have made a difference the night of the rescue."

THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT THE SURVIVORS OF THE SECURITY TEAM HAVE STATED.

HAD THEY NOT BEEN TOLD TO STAND DOWN, OR HAD THE CIA THEMSELVES MADE A BETTER EFFORT TO GO IN AND GET THE DESERTED PAIR LEFT ALONE INSIDE THAT 'CONSULATE QUARTERS', STEVENS MIGHT HAVE BEEN RESCUED, BECAUSE HE WAS STILL ALIVE WHEN THE 'ANNEX' CAME UNDER FIRE.
HE WAS ALIVE AFTER SMITH'S BODY WAS REMOVED.

USING A LARGE PRIVATE SECURITY FORCE TO SKIRT GOVERNMENT RED TAPE...

IN A US NEWS & WORLD REPORT ARTICLE FROM JANUARY, 2016:

"Intelligence services reportedly leaned heavily on contractors to move and issue bribes and security payments to locals during the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. It's also become common for them (hired contractors) to fill a vacancy left by a uniformed U.S. service member.

An analysis of the reports U.S. Central Command sends to Congress about its use of private companies shows the number of private security contractors spiked to more than 13,000 in Iraq in 2009 and more than 21,000 in Afghanistan in 2011 – both during massive troop withdrawals from those war zones. More than 1,600 contractors remain in Afghanistan today.

"It means you don't have to count those people in the size of the U.S. military presence in that country, even though it's a necessary component in the conduct of war," says Stephen Biddle, a former adviser to Gen. Stanley McChrystal and Gen. David Petraeus, now with the Council on Foreign Relations.
"Among the issues this creates, of course, the biggest one is the accountability of democracy in waging war. Much of this activity is designed to make the war effort look less extensive. I'm not sure that's appropriate."

LOOK AT THE FOLLOWING ADMISSION THAT THE CIA STAFF WAS UNQUALIFIED TO ACTUALLY PROTECT STEVENS IN CASE OF ATTACK!
"What these guys (the Security Team members) did was amazing, and thank God they were there. But it was their job," says a former Diplomatic Security special agent with extensive experience at high-risk posts in the Middle East, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

THEN, HE EVEN BLAMES THE AMBASSADOR FOR THE TRAGEDY OF HIS DEATH AND DEFENDS THE CIA FOR THEIR INEPTNESS!

"It was the ambassador's decision to be there in an indefensible situation with people who are there to protect him, not fight off the hoards. That's the difference. These guys (the CIA) aren't armed to the teeth like the contractors were."

THEN HOW THE HELL COULD THEY PROTECT HIM?
DID THEY HAVE ANY INTENTION OF PROVIDING REAL "CIA PROTECTION"?

"For them (the Special Team) to be critical of the DS guys, that's fine and good. The training they had obviously was not at the level of the contractors", he said.
"There's no way they (THE CIA) could have fought off that assault."

THEN WHAT DOES THE CIA TRAIN ITS PEOPLE TO DO...SHRED PAPER, PACK AND SHIP?
THE US NEWS ARTICLE CONCLUDES WITH...

"The Hollywood movie (13 HOURS) will serve as an introduction to the private security world for many civilians who see it, and it concludes with one of the greatest differences between the contractors and their government counterparts.

Two survivors at the end discuss the various medals and citations the CIA, Diplomatic Security and active duty military will receive to recognize their heroism in Benghazi.

"What do we get?" one asks.

Another responds: "We get to go home."

(US NEWS NOTE:The operators also received citations for heroism from both the State Department and the CIA.)

IT MAY INTEREST YOU TO KNOW THAT FORMER CIA DIRECTOR MICHAEL MORELL ALSO BLAMED STEVENS AND HIS SECURITY TEAM FOR STEVENS' DEATH!

HE BASICALLY STATED THAT THE CIA THERE IN BENGHAZI WAS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR SAFEGUARDING STEVENS OR THE STATE DEPARTMENT STAFF THERE.

HE HIMSELF WROTE THE FOLLOWING ARTICLE:
"The State Department facility in Benghazi has been widely mischaracterized as a US consulate.
In fact it was a Temporary Mission Facility (TMF), a presence that was not continuously staffed by senior personnel and that was never given formal diplomatic status by the Libyan government.

The CIA base—because it was physically separate from the TMF—was simply called “the Annex.”

In the months leading up to the September 11 attacks, many assaults and incidents directed at US and other allied facilities occurred in Benghazi—roughly twenty at the TMF alone—and CIA analysts reported on every significant one, including an improvised explosive device (IED) that was thrown over the wall of the TMF, an attack on the convoy of the UN special envoy to Libya, and an assassination attempt against the British ambassador to Libya.

As a result of the deterioration in security in Libya, we at CIA at least twice reevaluated our security posture in Benghazi and made significant enhancements at the Annex.

[YEAH, THEY HIRED LOCALS.]

It was only later—after the tragedy of 9/11/12—that we learned that only a few security enhancements had been made at the TMF.

[HE WANTS US TO BELIEVE THEY WERE LESS THAN A MILE AWAY, HAD KEPT A RECORD OF THOSE "SECURITY INCIDENTS" THAT PROMPTED ALL THOSE WARNINGS, BUT DIDN'T KNOW THE "TMF" NEEDED MORE SECURITY THAT DAY FOR STEVENS?]

CIA does not provide physical security for State Department operations.
Why so few improvements were made at the TMF, why so few State Department security officers were protecting the US ambassador, Chris Stevens, why they allowed him to travel there on the anniversary of 9/11, and why they allowed him to spend the night in Benghazi are unclear.

I would like to know the conversations that took place between Stevens and his security team when the ambassador decided to go visit Benghazi on 9/11/12.

These were all critical errors.

[AND THEN THE CIA STAFF THERE REDEFINED "CRITICAL ERRORS", FROM THE TIME THE FIRST SHOTS WERE FIRED UNTIL THE SECURITY TEAM HAD TO ALMOST CARRY THAT PETRIFIED "STATION CHIEF" TO THE RESCUE VEHICLES.]

When I traveled to Libya, my security detail would not even allow me to spend the night in Tripoli, and the leader of my security team brought what seemed to me like a small army to Libya to protect me.
... Through it all, none of the Department of State security officers at the TMF fired a weapon.

After reviewing the information in the video, I was in favor of releasing it publicly. Doing so would have helped Americans better understand the nature of the attack. I do not know why the White House did not release the information—this despite urgings to do so from Jim Clapper, the director of national intelligence, and from other senior intelligence officials, including me. The videos, at this writing, still have not been declassified.

About an hour after the mob stormed the compound, officers from the CIA base came to the aid of their State Department colleagues. The Agency security team fired the first American shots of the night, exchanging gunfire with the attackers, pushing them back, and then helping the State Department security officers search (unsuccessfully) for the ambassador. They recovered the body of Sean Smith, and unable to find the ambassador, organized a retreat to the Annex."

HE BLAMED EVERYONE BUT THE CIA
.

Documents, given to The Washington Times by a U.S. official, provide contemporaneous accounts of career State Department officials coping with an increasingly unstable foreign city and grasping for security help from outsiders in the absence of more action from their own department.

IN VICE-PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE IN 2012, IT CAME OUT THAT THERE WERE ONLY THREE DIPLOMATIC SECURITY AGENTS AT THE MAIN COMPOUND OVERSEEING THE SAFETY OF THE STATE DEPARTMENT STAFF AND THAT STEVENS WAS ACCOMPANIED BY ONLY TWO SUCH 'OFFICERS' WHEN HE ARRIVED FROM TRIPOLI THE DAY BEFORE THE ATTACK.

I MUST BELIEVE THAT THIS WAS BEFORE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT TYRONE WOODS AND THE OTHERS WERE HIRED BY THE CIA, NOT 'STATE'.
WOODS WAS INITIALLY REPORTED BY THE MEDIA TO HAVE BEEN ATTACHED TO THE STATE DEPARTMENT.
HE WASN'T.

LOOKING AT THE TESTIMONY WE'RE PROVIDED BELOW, IF THE STATE DEPARTMENT HAD HAD THREE AGENTS, THEY WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN REQUESTING JUST THREE AGENTS.

THREE HUNDRED AGENTS IN A PLACE THAT HOSTILE TO AMERICANS WOULD NOT,TO ME, HAVE SEEMED EXCESSIVE AT ALL.

Five diplomatic security special agents were in Benghazi at the time of the attack, two of whom only happened to be there because they had traveled with Stevens from Tripoli, according to testimony.

Various communications dating back a year asked for three to five diplomatic security agents, according to testimony at Wednesday's hearing.

But Eric Nordstrom, the one-time regional security officer, said he verbally asked for 12 agents.
The request for 12 agents was rebuffed by the regional director of the State Department's Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs, Nordstrom testified.

"For me and my staff, it was abundantly clear that we were not going to get resources until the aftermath of an incident," Nordstrom said.
Under Secretary of State for Management Patrick Kennedy responded, at the hearing, to suggestions the State Department was responsible for a lack of preparedness: "We regularly assess risk and resource allocation, a process involving the considered judgments of experienced professionals on the ground and in Washington, using the best available information."

WHO WAS FEEDING THEM INFORMATION? 'STATE' OR THE CIA?
WHAT ABOUT URGENT REQUESTS MADE BY 'STATE' FROM BENGHAZI?
DID THEY MAKE THOSE REQUESTS TO THE WRONG PEOPLE?
WOULD THE LIBYANS HAVE CARED IF STATE FELT THE NEED FOR MORE PROTECTION?
REMEMBER WE HAD BOMBED THE HELL OUT OF LIBYA BY THIS TIME.

“In response to threats of a planned attack posted on the Internet, U.S. Mission Benghazi is requesting assistance from the Supreme Security Council,” Jennifer Larson, the State Department’s principal officer for Benghazi, wrote in a May 29, 2012, letter to a top Libyan official.

“U.S. Mission Benghazi is requesting a mobile patrol outside the vicinity of the Mission during hours of darkness, from 2000 to 0700,” she added in the letter to Fawzi Wanis, the then-head of the Libyan Supreme Security Council.

Ms. Larson repeated the request in an urgent follow-up on June 6, 2012, the same day the Benghazi mission suffered a small bomb attack that became a prelude to the much bigger attack that killed Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three other Americans just three months later.

On Tuesday, two senior State Department officials told reporters that U.S. and Libyan security personnel in Benghazi were out-manned, and that no reasonable security presence could have fended off the assault.

WAS IT JUST THE FUNDING THAT STOPPED 'STATE' FROM PROPERLY PROTECTING THEIR STAFF IN BENGHAZI?

The GOP-led House did initially approve about $330 million less than what the Obama administration requested, but in the final bill, passed with bipartisan support after adjustments by the Senate, gave a total of $2.37 billion to these accounts for fiscal 2012 -- about $270 million less than what the administration had requested.

NOW LET US REMEMBER THAT THE CIA WAS PAYING THOSE SIX SECURITY TEAM MEMBERS ABOUT $150,000 EACH PER YEAR.
HOW MANY AMERICAN SECURITY CONTRACTORS COULD STATE DEPARTMENT HAVE HIRED FOR LESS THAN $1 MILLION?
SIX.

WHAT WE NEED TO KNOW IS HOW MUCH OF THAT $2.37 BILLION WAS ALLOCATED TO THE LIBYAN CONSULATE AND/OR THAT BENGHAZI "TEMPORARY MISSION FACILITY".

WAS IT ENOUGH TO HIRE AMERICAN SECURITY CONTRACTORS?
IF NOT, WHY DID THE CIA HAVE ENOUGH TO DO SO BUT STATE DID NOT?

WHY WOULD THE CONGRESS OR OBAMA OR CLINTON EVEN CONSIDER THAT WHAT WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN FEWER CIA STAFF THAN STATE DEPARTMENT STAFF WARRANTED FAR MORE SECURITY CONTRACTORS?

HOW MANY CIA MEMBERS WERE THAT TEAM OF SIX PLUS THE LOCALS PROTECTING?

WERE THEY PROTECTING THE CIA-HELD PRISONERS AS WELL?

I WISH THE SECURITY TEAM SURVIVORS WOULD ADDRESS ALL THESE QUESTIONS, BUT, SO FAR, THEY HAVEN'T.

THEY DID ANSWER THE QUESTION OF WHOM THE STATE DEPARTMENT WAS DEPENDING ON TOO HEAVILY...THE LIBYAN MILITIAS.

APRIL, 2016, INTERVIEW WITH ONE OF THE SECURITY TEAM SURVIVORS, MARK GEIST:

Mark Tapson: Okay. What was the security situation like in Benghazi when you got there? When you and your team got there.

Mark Geist: To kind of paint the picture for you, you have a city of approximately 150,000 people.
There was probably ten-fifteen different militias that were vying for control.

You would have one militia that controlled the airport.
You would have another militia that controlled the sea port.
Another one, the truck traffic.

I think the only thing I can really compare it to here in America was how the mafia tried to control things back in the 1920s.
Just different groups trying to control this and some of them were sophisticated, and then they would recruit just like ISIS does today.

You've got a percentage of them that are very sophisticated, and then they recruit. The majority of the people they recruit are very unsophisticated.

They go in and they say, "Hey, here's $50,000.00. I need your sons to come fight for us."
And their sons are willing to do that because there's five, or six, or seven of them, and this is a great place to go and earn martyrdom for the family, so generations will sing songs and talk about them, and the family's taken care of by earning that money. So a lot of them, that's what they're doing.

They're going to join that militia to fight.
And some of the militias were quasi-friendly

The one that the State Department, and me and Tonto and Tig always joke is probably the worst outsourcing ever done in American history, was the State Department outsourcing some of their security to the February 17 Martyrs Brigade.
They were the actual militia who started the revolution, and it was February 17 when the revolution started, and that's how they got their name.

And it was just a conglomeration of people that came together to fight under that banner until Kaddafi was gone.
Because when Kaddafi's there they had to calm an enemy.
"Now that he's gone, then we get to fight for our each individual little piece of that pie."

Mark Tapson: When you were there in Benghazi, you and your brothers, your fellow shooters, as you called yourselves, Kris Paronto and Jack Silva and John Tiegen and D.B. Benton and Tyrone Woods, the team leader, you were there to protect what they call the compound and the Annex.
Can you describe that, like how that works, how close those two are to each other and what the security situation there was like?

Mark Geist: We were about three-quarters of a mile apart, and to kind of tell you a little bit of the difference between the two of us is the six of us that were with GRS or Global Response Staff worked for the Culinary Institute of America or better known as the CIA.

Our job was to protect case officers when they went out in town so they could worry about doing their job and we would take care of the security part of it.

And between the six of us we had over 100 years of experience doing counter-insurgency operations around the world.

One night we're talking about it and probably close to 80 different countries between the six of us we'd all been in. That's just what we were drawn to do, and the State Department had five diplomatic security personnel.
They call them DS or "diplomatic security" officers, and talking with them, the best I can guess is they had about 20 or 30 years of experience to protect an ambassador.

They were on a compound that was eight acres in size.
Our compound was about the size of a football field.

We were about three-quarters of a mile away as the crow flies, so anything that was happening over there like the night of 9/11 we could see the fire. I could see the reflection of that and the smoke coming up and the tracers flying across the night.

As the guys were sitting there chomping at the bit to get out there while Bob kept telling them to stand down or to wait, which I guess is just a matter of semantics. Telling you to wait or stand down is pretty much the same thing in our eyes.

Mark Tapson: And Bob was the CIA, the local CIA chief there?

Mark Geist: Yeah, he was what we call the "chief of base," so he was the guy that was in charge of our base, the annex for Benghazi, and then his boss would be the chief of station.

Mark Tapson: Your buddy, Kris Paronto, says that Bob considered you guys basically glorified Walmart security guards, initially.

Mark Geist: Yeah, Kris or "Tonto" in the movie, Tonto and Bob had a unique relationship. It was kind of like water and oil or water and gasoline. They just didn't mix well.

Mark Tapson: I'm going to get to the stand down order in just a minute, but first let me ask you. Did you ever hear anything prior to the attack about the locals protesting a blasphemous YouTube video regarding Islamic prophet Mohammed? Did you at any time feel like the attackers were just locals motivated by this video or was it your sense immediately, I mean at the time, that at least some of these guys were literally terrorist and that it was a calculated attack?

Mark Geist: That's a loaded question, but you're right. It's obvious.

Mark Tapson: Just from your perspective.

Mark Geist: I've been in and out of the Middle East for 30 years and I've never -- well, I can't say never because that's too – 99.9 percent of the time I can say I've never seen a protest at night because it kind of defeats the whole purpose being dark because a protest is to get attention drawn to you, not to be hiding. They didn't have signs, they weren't chanting. They brought AK 47s, RPGs and machine guns instead of signs and chanting and bullhorns. So it's pretty obvious what it was. In October, about mid-October I got out of the hospital and I was able to see some of the footage from the security cameras, and from the drones overhead and you could see the guys, who they were, and you could tell --

I mean anybody's that been in the military knows a guy, how he carries a weapon. How he walks. What he's looking for. If he's trained or if he's not. So that was easy. There's no way it was a protest.

Mark Tapson: Let's talk about the stand down order. Tell us about that. You received a stand down order from Bob, right? The CIHE.

Mark Geist: Yeah, and it was the five guys that were at the Annex because I was out in town at that time, but they're the ones who actually got the stand down order.

Mark Tapson: Do you know if that was Bob's decision or he was relaying something from higher ups? What did he say if anything about that?

Mark Geist: He never really quantified why he did that, but from our experience -- and Tig had the most experience dealing with Bob at least in country because he was on his fourth trip to Benghazi.
When we say a trip, a trip for us is usually about 60 to 70 days, so Tig had been there since 2011 in and out.
He'd been in Benghazi for three different trips and Bob was always that way.

In the movie at the very beginning when you see Jack and Rone (Tyrone Woods) get caught at that checkpoint and have to talk their way out of it and Bob wouldn't let the QRF, which is the Quick Reaction Force, go, that really happened.

Our QRF was only a two-person team, but their job was to get within -- so that checkpoint where they got held up was about 30 minutes away.
Thirty minutes is a long fire fight and a lot can happen.

GEIST IS ASKED TO DESCRIBE WHAT HAPPENED AFTER THE TEAM DECIDED TO DISOBEY THE STAND-DOWN ORDER.

Mark Geist: After everyone (CIA & STATE DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEES) got back from the consulate the guys (THE SECURITY TEAM) had went over (AGAINST ORDERS) , had pushed off about 40 personnel because there was about 40 enemy personnel that took over the consulate area.

The five guys, Tig, Tyrone, Jack, D.B. and Tonto, had moved in two different elements. Three guys in one element. Two guys in the other with some of the Feb 17 guys kind of tagging along were able to push over 40 guys off the consulate and take that back over.

And when they did that that's when they started searching for the ambassador.

[NOTE: GEIST HAD BEEN IN TOWN WHEN THE ATTACK BEGAN AND MADE IT BACK TO THE COMPOUND AS THE OTHER 5 MEMBERS WERE TRYING TO LOCATE THE AMBASSADOR. HE JOINED THE FIGHT JUST AFTER SMITH'S BODY WAS FOUND AND BROUGHT OUT TO THE ANNEX.
ALSO NOTE THAT THERE WERE AT LEAST 20 ON STAFF AT THAT COMPOUND, MEMBERS OF THE CIA AND STATE DEPARTMENT (DS), THREE TIMES THE NUMBER OF MEN WHO WERE CONTRACTED TO THE CIA AND 'DS'.]

GEIST CONTINUES: The buildings there had already been set on fire and, to kind of paint the picture, if in a building this size or this room, everything from about here up was just black smoke. You couldn't see the end for your rifle.

So Tig and Tyrone are going in and out of this building looking for the ambassador because Jack and Dave Ubben had gone in and they had been able to find Sean Smith's body, and they had brought him out.

So the only one we we're looking for, the only person unaccounted for, was the ambassador.

And this was about 10 o'clock by the time they got onto the compound. They had done that several times.

A counter-attack came from the back gate of the consulate. They repelled that counter-attack.

They got word that there was over 100 people massing outside, so the decision was made at that point, and this was about two hours later.

We haven't been able to find the ambassador.
We don't know if he's still in the building or if they maybe had kidnapped him.

So, we've got five of us here because the State Department security personnel had left to get back to the Annex, and they had to make the decision to either fight off a hundred people or make their way out.
So they make their way back to the Annex at that time.

We started setting up our defensive positions and filling in all the holes there.
They were going to come in and breach our back gate, and at this point we knew that most people in Libya didn't know who we were.
But as they're coming up, we let them get fairly close, probably within about 25-30 yards, and one of them threw a bomb over the fence, and it’s a gelatina bomb.

I saw it coming over the fence and it landed in between me and Tig and blew up. Luckily, it didn't have any shrapnel and that's what initiated the first fire fight.

There was pretty much a probe. They were coming in, they were trying to shoot out our perimeter lights.

There was myself and Tig. He came up and jumped up beside me. I was in the northeast corner on the tower. Tonto and D.B. were up on top of what we would call Building B, so we pretty much had them in a crossfire. Really there was four of us. There was probably 10-15 of them.

We were done in about 10-15 minutes, and they were pulling their dead back and their wounded, and they kind of fell back.

This was getting on to about 1 o'clock when we heard that the – we had a support team that was coming down from Tripoli and that was Glen Doherty, or "Bub" was his call sign, and that group.

They were able to acquire, rent, lease or whatever, a civilian aircraft from somebody.

This is where several times throughout that night we all feel, at least I know me, Tig and Tonto -- and we know the other guys do as well, but I'm speaking for them because I've heard them talk about it -- we know God's hand was in on this because there's six of us and throughout the night there was anywhere between 15 and 50 attackers at one time.

The six of us, we were able – and it wasn't all six of us engaging at one time. Like when they were attacking from the northeast side, there was four of us against whatever number that was. So we know that there was a greater power providing their protection over us that night.

Mark Tapson: As the night went on, and help was not coming, what did you think was going to happen? Did you think, we can keep this up for a while, we can hold them off for a couple days if we have to, or did you think this is it, we're eventually going to be overwhelmed? Maybe by morning or noon or something if we don't get help.

Mark Geist: No, there's no way they were going to take us over. We knew we had plenty of ammo because I think we had roughly, I don't remember the exact count, probably 30,0000 rounds between the six of us, so there was like 30,000 of them that could have came. We might have missed a couple times.

Mark Tapson: What about when the mortar hit? Tell us about that and the aftermath.

Mark Geist: We'd had two attacks at our place. The second one we'd had about 20 or probably twice as many people as the first one. Probably 20 or 30 people. They again came exactly the same way. We were able to repel that one. That one lasted probably 15 or 20 minutes and then things got real quiet.

It was getting on about 2 o'clock in the morning. It was about that time that we had gotten information. Somebody called and said that the ambassador was at the hospital.
So the guys from Tripoli had made it into the airport. They were trying to make their way into our place.
And I had moved from the location I was at; got up on the roof where Dave Ubben was and Tyrone were.
The rooftop was about 40 by 30 feet, and Dave Ubben was on one side, me and Tyrone were on the other. It was kind of quiet, and things were slowing down. The tempo was down, so you're just talking about what's going on.

And then Tyrone looks at me and says, "Hey, Oz, these are some of the best warriors I've ever fought with," which really meant a lot to me because this is coming from a guy who has over 20 years in the Navy SEALs, in the SEAL teams, not just in the civilian. This is when we've had ten years of war.

It was about that time the guys from Tripoli showed up.
They were able to bribe one of the local militias to drive them from the airport to our compound.

The guys from Tripoli showed up. They came inside, and Bub, Glen Doherty, instead of going inside under the safety of the building, he came up on the rooftop.

He was the only one that came up on the rooftop of the 67 guys [NOTE: SURELY THE TRANSCRIPT IS IN ERROR AND THIS SHOULD BE 6 OR 7 GUYS.] that come down,
and he came up there, wanted to say "hi" to Tyrone. See if there's anything where he can lend a hand.

And I'd never met Bub before, so Rone says, "Hey, Oz, this is Bub. He's a sniper from the teams." That's where we worked together, and we've worked in Beirut together as well.
I'm like, "Well, it's been quiet, so hopefully we ain't going to need you, but morning's coming on, so at least having another rifle up here is going to be a good thing."

He had turned and walked away from me, and he walked to my left and then around to the back, and that's when a mortar or a rocket hit the back wall, which was an RPG small arms fire; opened up and a mortar hit the top of the wall.

When the mortar hit the top of our outer wall, Dave Ubben, who was to my right about 30 feet-40 feet over, screamed out that he was hit. I glanced over and he was to the east of me, and you could see that blue haze as the sun's getting ready to come up.

Right before the attack came morning prayer was going
...

Right before the attack it just all went quiet. Again, possible indicator that that was the initiator for the attack.
With Dave Ubben getting hit and being a small team, we all know that I can't stop shooting to go help him. He's got to take care of himself, and the fact that he's yelling out tells me as a teammate two things. That his heart's beating and he's breathing, so I know he can take care of himself. That's just how it has to be because if I stop then that's one less gun shooting bad guys and then the bad guys overrun us and we all get killed. You have to have that mettle in you that if you get injured you got to take care of yourself first. "

A SIMILAR, MORE BRIEF VERSION OF WHAT HAPPENED IS SUMMARIZED IN THE NEW YORK POST ARTICLE "WE WERE LEFT BEHIND", JANUARY 9, 2016.

"The first shots exploded around 9:40 p.m."

FOR 13 HOURS, JUST SIX MEN, EX-MILITARY ALL, BUT CONTRACTED TO THE CIA , HELD OFF AT LEAST 100 ATTACKERS, LOSING ONE OF THEIR OWN.

ALSO KILLED WAS ANOTHER CONTRACTOR WHO HAD FLOWN IN WITH HIS TEAM FROM TRIPOLI.
THEY ARRIVED AT THE ANNEX JUST AS DAWN BROKE AND ONLY ONE JOINED THE ORIGINAL SIX ATOP THE BUILDINGS AT THE CIA ANNEX.
THAT ONE WAS GLEN DOHERTY, A FORMER NAVY SEAL.

THE SURVIVORS SIMPLY WANT THE TRUTH TO BE KNOWN, THE DEAD HONORED AS THEY SHOULD BE.

“For all of us, it was that the four [deceased] guys got honored in the way they should,” operative and ex-Marine Sergeant John “Tig” Tiegen, tells The Post.

“Politicians hijacked it. The right use it, the left use it, and the true story got lost,” Kris Paronto says.

“The truth isn’t political. Now, the truth may affect political aspirations, but hey, sorry, that’s how it goes. We want people to know the true story, and if they want to use it as a determination of candidates, we can’t stop that. But we’re not going to get up there and say, ‘You should pick this person.’ ”

The three contractors were also joined by ex-SEALs Tyrone Woods and “Jack Silva” and former Marine “Dave Benton,” both pseudonymous names because their real identities have not been revealed.

The men went against orders (AFTER TOLD NOT TO GO TRY TO RESCUE STEVENS AND SMITH) and made the journey to the outpost by car, then approached on foot. They arrived to find Stevens missing and officer Sean Smith dead from smoke inhalation.

As the team prepared to return to the Annex, with Smith’s body in the trunk of their car, the compound came under fire again. A vicious counterattack by the group of Libyans began around 11 p.m.

The Annex staff was ultimately evacuated to the airport and out of the country with the help of a Libyan militia.

“This wasn’t the worst [firefight of my life], but it was the longest,” Paronto says.

“The only difference with this one was that we were left behind. That’s just the truth. No support came. Period.”

“There are pilots that come up to us and say, ‘Sorry, dude. We were ready to go,’ ” Geist says.

The movie suggests that F-16s or gunships could have been scrambled from Europe, though a congressional committee determined none were available to make it in time.

The men who were there disagree.

“A lot of politicians don’t realize that we were all in the military and we know a lot of the military guys, and they tell us things,” Tiegen says. “One pilot said to us that [the government] was afraid of another ‘Black Hawk Down’ scenario.”

WHAT POLITICIANS SHOULD BE MADE TO REALIZE IS THAT WE WANT THE WHOLE TRUTH.
