38 DEAD IN ATTACK IN THE PHILIPPINES: TERRORIST ATTACKS ON UPSWING WORLDWIDE

ABOVE AND BELOW, RECENTLY RELEASED SECURITY CAMERA VIDEO OF THE ATTACK.

SINCE THERE HAS BEEN INCONSISTENT COVERAGE OF THIS, LITTLE REAL IN-DEPTH COVERAGE HERE IN AMERICA ABOUT THIS, I THOUGHT IT DESERVED TO BE MENTIONED HERE.
IT IS BY NO MEANS THE ONLY SUCH ATTACK THERE, BUT THE PHILIPPINES GETS LITTLE MEDIA COVERAGE, EVEN BEFORE THE MAD MAN CURRENTLY IN POWER TOOK OFFICE.

WHAT HAPPENS THERE SEEMS NEVER TO BE OF MAJOR IMPORTANCE HERE, EVEN THOUGH AMERICA OWES THE FILIPINO PEOPLE A HUGE DEBT OF GRATITUDE FOR THEIR AID TO AMERICANS AND THEIR ENORMOUS SACRIFICES DURING WORLD WAR II.

38 DEAD
MANILA, Philippines — The gunman in a casino rampage in the Philippine capital was seen on security camera footage firing his M4 rifle in the air, setting fires and shooting at security forces in a stairwell during an attack that left at least 38 people dead.
The Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for the rampage in Manila early Friday, but authorities say it looked like a botched robbery by one attacker and that there was no obvious link to terrorism.

The victims appeared to have died of smoke inhalation as they hid from the gunman, who doused gambling tables with gasoline and set them ablaze, police said. He later killed himself in a hotel room.

Many in Manila feared after the attack began that it was linked to ongoing battles with Muslim militants aligned with the Islamic State group in the southern Philippine city of Marawi. The fighting has placed much of the country on edge, prompted Duterte to declare martial law across the south and raised fears that IS is gaining a foothold in the country.

The Philippines has faced Muslim insurgencies for decades, though much of the violence has occurred in the troubled south.

THAT'S RIGHT...FOR DECADES!

At a news conference Saturday, authorities showed the security footage to the media and said the gunman's identity was still unknown. The taxi driver who dropped the gunman off at the casino said the man spoke fluent Tagalog and appeared normal during the ride, said Manila police chief Oscar Albayalde.

As the gunman left, he exchanged fire with a building guard who managed to shoot him in the leg after being wounded, police and casino officials said.

"Severe blood loss from the gunshot wound significantly slowed the assailant down and resulted in his holing up in a room, where he took his own life," said Stephen Reilly, Resorts World's chief operating officer.

No 'lone wolf' in Manila | Bangkok Post

One senior Philippine lawmaker claimed the gunman was a "lone wolf" terrorist, but police and even President Rodrigo Duterte disagree.

Pantaleon Alvarez, speaker of the lower house of Congress and a close ally of Duterte, said he was not convinced the incident was a criminal case of armed robbery and arson.

However, Duterte said on Saturday evening that he believed the attack was not carried out by Islamic State, despite the terrorist group's speedy claim of responsibility. At a news conference on Saturday, authorities showed the security footage to the media and said the gunman's identity was still unknown.

National Police Chief Ronald dela Rosa also said the attack did not appear to be terrorism, but he cautioned that authorities still know very little about the attacker.

"What if we establish the identity and there are leads that will lead toward terrorism? So our findings, our conclusion, will possibly change," he told DZMM radio.

THE CASINO KILLINGS WERE ONLY THE MOST RECENT...THERE HAVE BEEN OTHERS, INCLUDING A SUICIDE BOMBING AT AN AIRPORT IN THE SOUTH OF THAT COUNTRY IN 2010

Suspected suicide bomber injures 14 at Philippine airport

A suspected suicide bomber blew himself up and injured 14 people in an attack on an airport in the restive southern Philippines.
The attack took place on the eve of a scheduled visit to Zamboanga by the US ambassador to the Philippines Harry Thomas, who was set to inspect local projects funded by the US Agency for International Development.

The Abu Sayyaf is blamed for the country's worst terrorist attacks, including a ferry bombing that killed over 100 people in Manila Bay in 2004.

It has also conducted a series of kidnappings of both locals and foreigners in the southern Philippines.

The US military has had about 500 soldiers stationed in the region of Mindanao -- one of the strongholds of the Abu Sayyaf that takes in Zamboanga -- since early 2002 to train local troops to combat the group.

However the US soldiers are not allowed to have a combat role.

38 Indonesians allegedly involved in Philippine terror network

The Philippine authority began the operation to free Marawi from Mautes siege on May 23 after the groups militants forced the residents to flee for their safety. The Philippine government has declared a martial law in Mindanao for a week now.

A battle between the government forces and ISIS-affiliated Maute group has being ensuing, with the Philippine troops launching air and land strikes on the predominantly Muslim city.

More than 100 people have died in Marawi, including 16 civilians.

World Sees Recent Sharp Uptick in Terror Attacks
Fox News

From Manchester to the Philippines, over the last two weeks there has been a sharp rise in the number of high-profile terror attacks that have left more than 300 hundred dead and put the world on edge.

Manchester, United Kingdom: May 23
The recent surge in global terror attacks began on May 23 when 22-year-old, English-born suicide bomber Salman Abedi detonated a backpack bomb during a concert by pop singer Ariana Grande at the Manchester Arena. The bomb killed 22 people -- mostly women and young girls -- and left more than 100 wounded in one of the worst terror attacks in the history of the United Kingdom.

Following the bombing, the Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack and called Abedi "a soldier of the caliphate" who "planted bombs in the middle of Crusaders gatherings."

Minya, Egypt: May 26

Three days after the Manchester attack, ISIS gunmen ambushed a bus carrying Egyptian Coptic Christians to St. Samuel the Confessor monastery, about 140 miles south of Cairo, and killed 29 people.

The attack on Coptic Christians last Friday, on the eve of the start of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, has shocked many in Egypt. It was the fourth assault targeting Christians since December-- attacks that have been claimed by the Islamic State group and that have killed more than 100 people in all.

In April, the Islamic State group bombed two churches in the northern cities of Tanta and Alexandria as Coptic Christians were celebrating Palm Sunday. President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi declared a three-month state of emergency afterward.

ISIS has vowed to step up attacks on Coptic Christians, who account for about 10 percent of Egypt's 93 million people.

Baghdad, Iraq: May 30
The Iraqi capital was rocked by a series of bombings on Tuesday that left 38 people dead and over 60 wounded.
A nighttime attack outside an ice cream parlor in the bustling Baghdad neighborhood of Karrada killed 17 people and wounded 32, police and health officials said.

A closed-circuit camera captured the moment of the explosion, the video showing a busy downtown avenue with cars driving down the street when the blast strikes. A huge fireball engulfs a building, causing cars to scramble to get away. Other videos of the attack posted on social media show wounded and bloodied people crying for help on the sidewalk outside the ice cream parlor.

In the second attack, an explosives-laden car went off during rush hour near the state-run Public Pension Office in Baghdad's busy Shawaka area, killing 14, a police officer said. At least 37 people were wounded in that attack, he added.

In separate online statements, ISIS claimed responsibility for the two attacks, saying its suicide bombers targeted gatherings of Shiites.

Later in the day, bombings in and around the Iraqi capital killed seven more people.
Also on Tuesday, a suicide bomber attacked a military patrol in the town of Hit in Iraq's western Anbar province, killing at least eight people and wounding 10, including security force members.
A week earlier, seven people died and 19 were wounded in four separate bombings in and around Baghdad, officials said. The attacks targeted commercial areas and a patrol of Sunni anti-ISIS tribal fighters.

Kabul, Afghanistan: May 31

A suicide attacker on Wednesday struck the fortified heart of the Afghan capital of Kabul with a massive truck bomb that killed 90 people, wounded some 400 and raised fears about the government's ability to protect its citizens nearly 16 years into a war with insurgents.

The bomber drove into Kabul's heavily guarded diplomatic quarter during the morning rush hour, leaving behind a bloody scene of chaos and destruction in one of the worst attacks since the drawdown of foreign forces from Afghanistan in 2014.

Most of the casualties were civilians, including women and children, but the dead also included Afghan security guards at the facilities, including the U.S. Embassy. Eleven American contractors were also wounded -- none with life-threatening injuries, a U.S. State Department official said.

There was no claim of responsibility for the attack, which came in the first week of Ramadan. The Taliban flatly denied any involvement in an email to news outlets and condemned all attacks against civilians.

Marawi, Philippines: May 23 -- Continuing
A bloody siege by 500 ISIS-aligned extremists in Marawi -- which continued Friday -- has left scores dead and the country's military struggling to regain control of the mosque-studded city that is the heartland of the Islamic faith in the southern Philippines.

A total of 120 militants have been killed in the fighting since May 23, when a failed government raid to capture one of Asia's most-wanted militants, Isnilon Hapilon, triggered the siege of the city by the rebels. Twenty-five of the dead militants have been identified as Filipinos, according to military officials. Eight others were foreign fighters, including a Chechen, a Yemeni and several Malaysians and Indonesians.

At least 25 soldiers, five policemen and more than 24 civilians have been killed in the clashes, while about 2,000 people are believed to still be trapped in houses near the fighting. About 1,000 others have been rescued by police and soldiers from villages that have been cleared of armed extremists.

Suicide bombers attack camp in north Cameroon, 11 people dead ...
Authorities in northern Cameroon say 11 people are dead after two suicide bombers attacked a camp for those displaced by Boko Haram extremist violence in the region.
Governor Midjiyawa Bakari of the Far North region said today that the dead include the two girls who detonated their explosives at the displacement camp in Kolofata.
EXPECT THIS TO CONTINUE, EXPECT IT TO ESCALATE EACH MONTH, EACH YEAR.

WE ARE DEALING WITH "THE RELIGION OF PEACE" AND THERE IS NO PEACE FOR THOSE WHO OPPOSE ISLAM.
ASK ISIS....ASK JUST ABOUT ANY MUSLIM RELIGIOUS LEADER IN IRAN, KUWAIT, SAUDI ARABIA...

THIS CANNOT END UNTIL ISLAM HAS CONQUERED ALL WHO OPPOSE IT.
COUNT ON THAT.

IT'S SIMPLY THE BASIC TENET AND DEEPEST BELIEF OF ISLAM.

ONLY ONE RELIGION CAN EXIST IN THE WORLD AND THAT RELIGION IS ISLAM.

ALL MUST SUBMIT.

  1. WHEN I VISITED THE PHILIPPINES MANY YEARS AGO, I WONDERED WHY SO MANY DOGS WERE NAMED 'DOUGLAS'. OVER 30 YEARS LATER, MY 'ADOPTED' FILIPINA DAUGHTER FINALLY TOLD ME THE REASON...IT WAS BECAUSE OF THE LIES MACARTHUR TOLD THE FILIPINO PEOPLE AND THE BETRAYAL OF THEIR TRUST IN HIS PROMISES.
"After the Philippines were attacked, America began one of the cruelest deceptions in World War II. We deceived the Filipinos, MacArthur and our own American troops.

It is abundantly documented that President Franklin Roosevelt led the Filipinos to believe that America was quickly coming to their aid. What’s more, Roosevelt continued to deceive General MacArthur, the Filipinos and our American soldiers for months—while they were being slaughtered!

Never before was the U.S. hated more intensely by every citizen of a friendly nation!

Near the end of January, 1942, there still was no help from America. By that point, the hopelessly outmanned Filipinos and American soldiers stationed there were being butchered. President Manuel Quezon sent a message directly to President Roosevelt.
    FDR LIED AGAIN.
HE KNEW HE WASN'T SENDING HELP TO THE PHILIPPINES.
Roosevelt and Stimson had privately told the British Prime Minister that they had written off the Philippines as a lost cause. (‘There are times,’ Stimson said, ‘when men have to die.’)
Not only did our President lie, he continued to lie as American soldiers and Filipinos suffered and died, because of that protracted lie. So it went beyond a lie. It was a treacherous, monstrous betrayal!

What makes it even more grotesque is that the soldiers made their plans contingent upon the soon-coming help arriving from the U.S. That meant thousands of soldiers died needlessly because of the grisly betrayal!
