GREAT NEWS FOR CATS, BUT NEW YORK ALLOWS UP-TO-BIRTH ABORTION.
FOR MANY, THIS SEEMS TO SAY THAT A CAT'S PAIN TAKES PRECEDENCE OVER A FULL-TERM BABY'S RIGHT TO LIFE OR A FETUS/BABY'S PAIN.
THAT A CAT SUFFERS PAIN FROM DECLAWING IS A GIVEN, BUT THE SAME STATE LEGISLATURE DOESN'T SEEM TO GIVE THE SMALLEST DAMN WHAT PAIN A HUMAN FETUS AT 20 WEEKS OR A FULLY FORMED BABY AT 9 MONTHS SUFFERS AS IT IS KILLED.
WE'VE KNOWN FOR MANY YEARS THAT A BABY FEELS PAIN INSIDE THE UTERUS.
In May of 2013, Dr. Maureen Condic, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Neurobiology and Anatomy at the University of Utah, testified before Congress when the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, prohibiting abortion after 20 weeks gestation, was under consideration. She stated:
“There is universal agreement in the scientific community that an unborn child experiences fetal pain by at least 20 weeks old.”
That being said, she attests that a baby at just 8 weeks gestation can be seen moving in response to stimuli.
By 20 weeks gestation, the baby will respond to sound and move, wince, and recoil from sharp objects and incisions. For instance, when sampling blood from the liver, the baby in utero will move away from the needle.
Studies are showing that pain may be felt even earlier … and more intensely than in adults.
In her testimony before Congress in May of 2012, Dr. Colleen Malloy, MD, a board certified Neonatologist and Assistant Professor at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, described the following developmental milestones of an unborn child, indicating very early perception of pain:
At 8 weeks gestation, facial sensory receptors appear.
At 14 weeks gestation, sensory fibers grow into the spinal cord and connections are made with the thalamus (part of the brain).
Between 13 and 16 weeks gestation, monoamine fibers (nerve cells or fibers) reach the cerebral cortex (another part of the brain).
Between 17 and 20 weeks gestation, thalamo-cortical relays (pathways to the brain for sensory information) penetrate the cortex.
No later than 20 weeks gestation, pain receptors are present and linked.
In fact, when a needle is used to draw blood in utero from a baby at 18 weeks gestation, a stress hormone (B-endorphin) is released in massive amounts, increasing by 500 %. Cortisol, another stress hormone, rises by 183%. In addition, Substance P, a neurotransmitter involved in transmitting pain, is found at 11 weeks gestation, and at 13 weeks, Enkephalin, involved in perceiving pain, is also detected.
So does the unborn child feel the pain of being dismembered in an abortion?
YES!
YES THEY DO!
Dr. Malloy attests:
“These are the patients that I perform procedures on every day, and I can guarantee you that when I put a chest tube in, or I intubate a patient, or put an IV in, they feel it.”
Higher concentrations of anesthesia are needed for unborn babies.
In a report commissioned by the U.S. Department of Justice, Dr. Kanwalkeet Anand, an anesthesiologist and leading expert in the field of fetal pain, wrote:
“It is my opinion that the human fetus possesses the ability to experience pain from 20 weeks of gestation, if not earlier, and the pain perceived by a fetus is possibly more intense than that perceived by term newborns or older children.”
Pain transmitters in the spine are abundant during the first part of pregnancy, but pain inhibiting transmitters are sparse until later. In fact, when babies in utero undergo surgery, their stress hormone response is 3 to 5 times higher than in adults.
And so, it makes sense why increased concentrations of anesthetic drugs would be required for premature infants than for adults.

OBVIOUSLY NOT.
New York State Senate Passes Bill Permitting Abortions up to Birth, January 22, 2019
"Current New York law doesn’t appear to discourage women from abortion at all. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) most recent Abortion Surveillance report, for the year 2015, New York City performed 544 abortions for every 1,000 live births. That means roughly one in three unborn babies are aborted. As a whole, New York performed 93,096 abortions total, with 23.1 abortions per 1,000 women of childbearing age. It counted 392 abortions per 1,000 live births.
YES, LEGALLY/TECHNICALLY, HOWEVER YOU WANT TO SAY IT, A WOMAN CAN DEMAND AN ABORTION EVEN AFTER HER LABOR CONTRACTIONS BEGIN, EVEN MINUTES BEFORE BIRTH.
BUT THAT SAME WOMAN CAN NO LONGER DECLAW HER CAT.
THIS IS NOT THE MOST BRUTAL, HURTFUL THING WOMEN AND PHYSICIANS MAY SOON BE ALLOWED TO DO TO UNWANTED/'UNPLANNED' BABIES.
THERE IS A PUSH TO ALLOW THE KILLING OF A CHILD IMMEDIATELY AFTER BIRTH, UP TO AGE 4 OR 5.
In 2014, a reporter, Joe Biggs, got a number of students at the University of Texas in Austin to sign a petition for “post-birth abortion” that would allow killing children up to five years old. His efforts were captured on video.
All told, the video shows Biggs talking to 16 students about the petition; 12 sign, it appears, three decline and it’s unclear what one man decides.
An unsigned copy of the petition they signed appears onscreen, stating:
"Please support the Post-Birth Abortion Act of 2014. This is to emphasize that the moral status of the newborn baby is comparable with that of a fetus … rather than that of a child. Therefore, we claim that killing a newborn could be ethically permissible in all the circumstances where abortion would be. This post-birth abortion can take place until a newborn is self aware or reaches 5 years old. This act is supported by numerous scientists and medical doctors as a safe and effective way to preserve the quality of life."
The video also flashes part of a student-written story posted online Oct. 29, 2014, headlined "Trending: More college students support post-birth abortion," a very real article which states, in part...
“We encounter people who think it is morally acceptable to kill babies after birth on a regular basis at almost every campus we visit,” said Mark Harrington, director of Created Equal. “While this viewpoint is still seen as shocking by most people, it is becoming increasingly popular.”
Campuses where the high school, college students, local activists and staff members of Created Equal have encountered this opinion include Purdue, University of Minnesota, and University of Central Florida. And at Ohio State earlier this year, the group captured a debate on video between one of its members and an older woman on campus who defended infanticide.
As for the trend, Garza said there’s an explanation for it. For one, the arguments put forth by Peter Singer and other philosophers who support infanticide are given as reading assignments to college students.
Singer wrote in 1979 that “human babies are not born self-aware, or capable of grasping that they exist over time. They are not persons … [therefore] the life of a newborn is of less value than the life of a pig, a dog, or a chimpanzee.”
“He has been saying things like this since the 70s."

THESE ARE COLLEGE-AGED ADULTS, BUT DON'T THEY READ, RESEARCH, ANYTHING BEFORE THEY BLINDLY AGREE TO SUCH A THING?
PEER-REVIEWED STUDIES, ULTRASONOGRAPHY, SURGERIES CONDUCTED ON BABIES IN UTERO HAVE ALL SHOWN THAT THEY FEEL PAIN, THAT THEY REACT TO STIMULI, THAT THEY ARE NOT JUST A CLUMP OF CELLS.
SLATE magazine did an article on this "trend" in 2012, titled
"After-Birth Abortion: The pro-choice case for infanticide".
SLATE WAS PREDICTABLY ALL FOR IT.
"Two philosophers, Alberto Giubilini and Francesca Minerva, in the Journal of Medical Ethics, propose:
[W]hen circumstances occur after birth such that they would have justified abortion, what we call after-birth abortion should be permissible. … [W]e propose to call this practice ‘after-birth abortion’, rather than ‘infanticide,’ to emphasize that the moral status of the individual killed is comparable with that of a fetus … rather than to that of a child. Therefore, we claim that killing a newborn could be ethically permissible in all the circumstances where abortion would be. Such circumstances include cases where the newborn has the potential to have an (at least) acceptable life, but the well-being of the family is at risk."
What Does The Baby Do Inside The Womb?
BABY, NOT MASS OF CELLS, NOT GARBAGE TO BE DUMPED OR FLUSHED , NOT AN UNFEELING LUMP, BUT A BABY.
The following have all been captured by ultrasound imaging, documented, REAL.
1- THEY CRY. Experts have shown that when an ultrasound is taken, some babies tend to be crying inside the womb.
2- THEY HEAR THINGS OUTSIDE THE WOMB AND REACT TO VOICES.
During the last 10 weeks of pregnancy, babies have been found to actively listen to their mothers' voices.
3- THEY HICCUP. Hiccups can start as early as the first trimester, though you might not be able to feel them until much later in the pregnancy phase. At times, if you closely pay attention, you will be able to feel the little one hiccuping
4- MULTIPLE FETUSES HUG EACH OTHER. If you are expecting twins, you will find that the babies tend to bond a lot in utero. Ultrasound images of this are quite common.
5- THEY SMILE AND YAWN. Around the 26th week of pregnancy the baby will react to many things from inside the womb. It is during this time that the baby will also show signs of smiling and yawning that have been caught on ultrasound images.
6-THEY REACT TO LIGHT OUTSIDE THE WOMB. Some merely turn over. Others seem agitated.
BABIES IN UTERO HAVE ALSO BEEN IMAGED SUCKING THEIR THUMBS, REACTING TO OBVIOUS DREAMS, REACTING TO FOODS/DRINKS.MEDICATIONS THE MOTHER INGESTS, FLIPPING AND TURNING TO GET COMFORTABLE.
AND, YES, THEY DO REACT TO PAIN AND TO INSTRUMENTS INTRODUCED INTO THE UTERUS, FOR EXAMPLE TO SURGICAL INSTRUMENTS WHEN AN INTRAUTERINE SURGERY IS REQUIRED TO SAVE THEM.
HOW CAN THEY SEE A BABY AS HAVING LESS VALUE OR RIGHT THAN A CAT?
In an article titled "I can't believe I have to say it: a human life is worth more than a gorilla's",
Dave Bry of the Guardian, UK, wrote:
"As much as I love animals – and I love them very much – the idea that the life of a cat or a dog or a lion or a gorilla is as important as the life of a human is a terrible one, a wrong one, an insulting one.
A 2013 study conducted by researchers at Regents University and Cape Fear Community College found that, when faced with a hypothetical situation in which they could save only their pet or a human “foreign tourist” from being hit by a bus, 40% of participants chose their pet.
“All animals are equal,” said the foreboding sign on the barn at the end of Animal Farm, “but some animals are more equal than others.” George Orwell wrote that, mockingly, as an attack on fascism. Taken literally, though, he had a point."

On Sunday, police spotted the child’s feet in the toilet pipe and called for help from firefighters, but before they could arrive, officer Qian Feng got down on the ground to pull the baby out.
Unmarried mothers in China sometimes abandon newborns because of social stigma associated with out-of-wedlock births. Sometimes parents also discard children born with defects."

LET ME CLARIFY MY STANCE.
IN CASES IN WHICH DILIGENT CONTRACEPTION, METHODS OF BIRTH CONTROL FAILED, i.e, TO BECOME PREGNANT WHILE RELYING ON BIRTH CONTROL, IS IN NO WAY, THE WOMAN'S FAULT.
I ALSO REALIZE THAT SOME RELIGIONS FORBID BIRTH CONTROL, WHICH CAN TAX A WOMAN INTO AN EARLY GRAVE AND PRODUCE FETUSES WITH SEVERE MEDICAL PROBLEMS AS THE WOMAN HAS "A CHILD A YEAR" AS LONG AS SHE IS FERTILE/OVULATING.
I DO INDEED SEE A FEW MEDICAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL REASONS THAT MIGHT SUGGEST ABORTION AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO HAVING A CHILD.
HOWEVER, I ALSO KNOW OF THOUSANDS OF CHILDLESS COUPLES WHO WOULD GRATEFULLY AND HAPPILY ADOPT UNWANTED BABIES, PAY ALL EXPENSES FOR THE MOTHER.
BUT THE INTENTIONAL FAILURE TO APPLY BIRTH CONTROL METHODS, TO KNOWINGLY AVOID THEM, TO TAKE NO PRECAUTIONS, IF NOTHING BUT TOTAL ABSTINENCE, SO NO UNWANTED CHILD IS CONCEIVED, DOES NOT JUSTIFY SEEKING AN ABORTION BECAUSE OF AN "UH-OH" MOMENT.
NO OTHER HUMAN BEING SHOULD LOSE LIFE BECAUSE ANYONE WAS LAZY OR NEGLECTFUL OF ADULT RESPONSIBILITIES.
BOTH PARTNERS IN ANY SEXUAL ENCOUNTER SHOULD BE 100% CONCERNED WITH PREVENTING AN UNWANTED PREGNANCY.
HOWEVER, SINCE IT IS THE WOMAN WHO WILL SUFFER MOST FROM THE STRESS
OF AN UNPLANNED PREGNANCY, IT IS THE WOMAN WHO SHOULD UNFAILINGLY ASCERTAIN EVEN A REMOTE POSSIBILITY THAT A SEXUAL ENCOUNTER COULD LEAD TO JUST THAT.
FROM "JUST SAY NO", TO 'THE PILL', IMPLANTS (IUDs OR CONTRACEPTIVE IMPLANTS BENEATH THE SKIN), TO REVERSIBLE TUBAL LIGATION, OR, IN CASES WHERE A WOMAN HAS DECIDED SHE NEVER WANTS CHILDREN, STERILIZATION, THE CHOICES TODAY ARE MANY AND AFFORDABLE.
LOOKING AT THE STATS FOR WHO USES CONTRACEPTION IN THE U.S. AND WHO IS "AT RISK FOR UNWANTED PREGNANCY", CAN IT BE THAT PERHAPS ONLY 10% OF AMERICAN WOMEN ( THE 10% WHO USED NO FORM OF BIRTH CONTROL) HAD ALMOST 58 MILLION ABORTIONS IN THE PAST 30+ YEARS?
DID ABORTION TAKE THE PLACE OF CONTRACEPTION HERE?
HAS IT SIMPLY BECOME A "QUICK FIX" FOR SOME WHO DON'T USE CONTRACEPTION?
DID THE COURTS VOTE FOR A WOMAN'S RIGHT TO CHOOSE JUST SO ANYONE CAN BE LAX ON BIRTH CONTROL AND THEN JUST GO HAVE AN ABORTION?
I CAN'T ACCEPT THAT AS ETHICAL.
WHILE A WOMAN MAY INDEED HAVE A RIGHT TO DECISIONS REGARDING HER OWN BODY, WHEN THAT SAME WOMAN WAS A GROWING FETUS, CHANCES ARE SLIM TO NONE THAT SHE WOULD HAVE AGREED TO BE TERMINATED BY ABORTION.
GOOD THING THEIR MOTHERS DID NOT THINK OF THEM AS DISPOSABLE OR AS 'JUST A CLUMP OF CELLS', RIGHT?
JUST THE WAY I AND MILLIONS OF OTHERS IN AMERICA SEE IT.
According to Gallop, 33 percent of Americans were pro-life in 1996.
In 2014, 46 percent said they are pro-life.
JULY 2, 2019, "Gallup released its annual public-opinion poll on abortion policy, and its results contain some good news for abortion opponents. According to the survey, a plurality of Americans now identify as pro-life, with 49 percent of respondents calling themselves “pro-life,” and 46 percent calling themselves “pro-choice.”
EVERYONE HAS A RIGHT TO THEIR OPINIONS AND THEIR BELIEFS; NOT JUST SOME, BUT ALL.
HOW CAN WE ASK UNBORN CHILDREN WHAT THEIR OPINIONS ARE?
