<<Politico notes that Arizona House Speaker Andy Tobin (R-Paulden), who is in a three-way primary for the chance to challenge Congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick (D-CD1) this fall, used the specter of Benghazi in a fundraising email yesterday.
Tobin's pitch comes against the advice of House Select Committee on Benghazi chairman Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.), who says he has "never sought to raise a single penny on the backs of four murdered Americans.”
“There are still, even in a culture of hyper-partisanship, certain things that ought to be above politics,” he continued, “like the murder of our four fellow Americans and like whether or not you can trust what any administration — Republican or Democrat — tells you in the aftermath of a tragedy. That, to me, transcends politics.”
Andy Tobin, the speaker of the Arizona state House of Representatives who is challenging Democratic Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick for the congressional seat for the state’s first district, came under fire on Tuesday for a fundraising email he sent to supporters that invoked the Benghazi attacks.>>

Friend, Twenty months after the terrorist attacks on Benghazi, which left four Americans dead, the White House is still covering up vital information about what happened that night. If you remember, Barack Obama was in the midst of campaigning for reelection. Coincidence?

 Around dawn on October 23, 1983, I was in Beirut, Lebanon, when a suicide bomber drove a truck laden with the equivalent of twenty-one thousand pounds of TNT into the heart of a U.S. Marine compound, killing two hundred and forty-one servicemen. The U.S. military command, which regarded the Marines’ presence as a non-combative, “peace-keeping mission,” had left a vehicle gate wide open, and ordered the sentries to keep their weapons unloaded. The only real resistance the suicide bomber had encountered was a scrim of concertina wire. When I arrived on the scene a short while later to report on it for the Wall Street Journal, the Marine barracks were flattened. From beneath the dusty, smoking slabs of collapsed concrete, piteous American voices could be heard, begging for help. Thirteen more American servicemen later died from injuries, making it the single deadliest attack on American Marines since the Battle of Iwo Jima.

Six months earlier, militants had bombed the U.S. embassy in Beirut, too, killing sixty-three more people, including seventeen Americans. Among the dead were seven C.I.A. officers, including the agency’s top analyst in the Middle East, an immensely valuable intelligence asset, and the Beirut station chief.

There were more than enough opportunities to lay blame for the horrific losses at high U.S. officials’ feet. But unlike today’s Congress, congressmen did not talk of impeaching Ronald Reagan, who was then President, nor were any subpoenas sent to cabinet members.

This was true even though then, as now, the opposition party controlled the majority in the House. Tip O’Neill, the Democratic Speaker of the House, was no pushover. He, like today’s opposition leaders in the House, demanded an investigation—but a real one, and only one. Instead of playing it for political points, a House committee undertook a serious investigation into what went wrong at the barracks in Beirut.

Two months later, it issued a report finding “very serious errors in judgment” by officers on the ground, as well as responsibility up through the military chain of command, and called for better security measures against terrorism in U.S. government installations throughout the world.

In other words, Congress actually undertook a useful investigation and made helpful recommendations. The report’s findings, by the way, were bipartisan. (The Pentagon, too, launched an investigation, issuing a report that was widely accepted by both parties.)

In March of 1984, three months after Congress issued its report, militants struck American officials in Beirut again, this time kidnapping the C.I.A.’s station chief, Bill Buckley. Buckley was tortured and, eventually, murdered.
Reagan, who was tormented by a tape of Buckley being tortured, blamed himself.

Congress held no public hearings, and pointed fingers at the perpetrators, not at political rivals.
If you compare the costs of the Reagan Administration’s serial security lapses in Beirut to the costs of Benghazi, it’s clear what has really deteriorated in the intervening three decades.

It’s not the security of American government personnel working abroad.
It’s the behavior of American congressmen at home.

The story in Beirut wasn’t over.
In September of 1984, for the third time in eighteen months, jihadists bombed a U.S. government outpost in Beirut yet again. President Reagan acknowledged that the new security precautions that had been advocated by Congress hadn’t yet been implemented at the U.S. embassy annex that had been hit. The problem, the President admitted, was that the repairs hadn’t quite been completed on time. As he put it, “Anyone who’s ever had their kitchen done over knows that it never gets done as soon as you wish it would.”

Imagine how Congressman Issa and Fox News would react to a similar explanation from President Obama today.

Five Examples Of How Conservative Pundits Are Using Their Benghazi Witch Hunt To Fundraise


A Media Matters review of fundraising emails and websites found that conservatives have routinely invoked Benghazi to ask followers for money. The fundraising solicitations accuse the Obama administration of "lies," "cover-ups," a "dereliction of duty," and crimes worse than Watergate.  
The fundraising is only likely to intensify with the recent creation of a House select committee, led by Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC), to investigate the attacks. The Republican leadership convened the committee despite numerous previous inquiries into Benghazi. The Department of Defense wrote in March that it had already participated in "approximately 50 congressional hearings, briefings, and interviews" about the 2012 attacks.

1~ The Republican National Committee has a donation page asking Republicans to demand "the truth about Benghazi" by contributing money.

2~ The National Republican Senatorial Committee asks Republicans to "donate today" because of Benghazi.

3~ And the National Republican Congressional Committee has a fundraising page stating: "You're now a Benghazi Watchdog. Let's go after Obama & Hillary Clinton. Help us fight them now." The page features an image of President Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton with the text, "Benghazi Was A Coverup. Demand Answers."

4~Fox News Hosts are pumping Benghazi for all its worth to the GOP campaign coffers!
Mike Huckabee sent a May 6 email to his Fox News-promoted MikeHuckabee.com list titled, "Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi." Huckabee claimed that Clinton "has some explaining to do" and the Obama administration was responsible for "subsequent lies and cover-ups."
He later suggested that Benghazi is worse than Watergate, writing: "We once had real newspapers and broadcast news outlets that cared about a government lying to the people. Now, they dismiss Benghazi as 'no Watergate.' And they're right: in Watergate, the press didn't look the other way and neither did Congress. And in Watergate, no one died." At the conclusion of his email, Huckabee wrote: "Help support conservative candidates through Huck PAC.  Chip in $5 or more to Huck PAC!" 

The ACLJ, a conservative group headed by radio host and regular Fox News guest Jay Sekulow, asks for donations to "Demand Answers on Benghazi." The group states: "The Obama Administration has not given the American people the truth about Benghazi. Congress is forming a select committee to get to the bottom of this foreign policy disaster and get answers. We're working with Members of Congress to get the truth. Stand with us with your tax-deductible donation today." 

Fox News Contributor Allen West sent a January 21 email for his Allen West Guardian Fund PAC claiming there "is an ongoing cover-up to hide the truth" about Benghazi. West offered a solution by writing "we need to clean up Washington." He explained readers could help do so by making "an immediate contribution of $25, $50, $100 or more right now to the Allen West Guardian Fund."
West sent a March 14 email claiming "Obama and his party are defeatists. When Obama retreated from his warnings to Syria regarding their chemical weapons program and told lies to avoid taking military action for the terrorist attack in Benghazi, he sent a clear message to the world: 'America is weak. We'll just talk tough and back down. Do as you wish.'" West then asked for donations to his political action committee.
On May 7, hours after Gowdy's request for Republicans to not fundraise off of Benghazi, West sent an email fundraising off of Benghazi. West wrote, "The fact that Obama and Hillary did nothing to save our people in Benghazi, and in-fact may have taken direct actions that caused it to happen, is just heartbreaking. It may even be criminal." The email asked for donations "of $25, $50, $100 or more right away" to help "prevent another disaster like Benghazi." 

5~ A May 2 email from AIM chairman Don Irvine claimed, "After a year and a half of Benghazi damage control enforced by the administration and their lapdogs in the press, the genie is suddenly out of the bottle." It concluded: "To move ahead with this vital work to shine the light of truth on Benghazi, Accuracy in Media needs your support. We urge you to express your confidence in our efforts by sending a generous donation today."
AIM also convened a "Citizens' Commission on Benghazi" which included members such as Fox News contributors Allen West, and Thomas McInerney. A donation plea on the website states: "Accuracy in Media and the CCB are taking the lead in reporting the truth about Benghazi that even Republicans on the Hill won't touch. We are doing the real work of interviewing witnesses, collecting documents, and finding out the facts--why it happened, how it happened and why it was covered up. In order to proceed with our investigation, we must have your help. Please donate to Accuracy in Media today to shine the light of truth on this issue and end the Benghazi cover-up."

ALL THOSE EXAMPLES ARE JUST WRONG!

Bob Ney, Boehner’s one time Ohio GOP colleague who went to prison for his part in the Jack Abramoff lobbying scandal, is one of the few Republicans willing to publicly discusses Boehner’s drinking. 

Ney calls Boehner “a chain-smoking, relentless wine drinker more interested in the high-life — women, cigarettes, fun and alcohol.”  The Speaker, Ney says, “golfed, drank constantly, and took the easy way legislatively.”
Ney’s criticism might be excused as the bitter ramblings of a politician caught in his own vices, but other Republicans also say publicly and privately that Boehner is a lightweight who drinks too much.
Former Florida GOP Congressman Joe Scarborough, now a talk show host, says “so many Republicans tell me this is a guy that is not the hardest worker in the world.  After 5 o’clock, 6 o’cock at night, he is disengaged at best.  You can see him around town…you can see him at bars.”
Boehner is a regular at The Capitol Hill Club, a GOP club where members of Congress often get drunk in the basement bar.
“Is John Boehner a drunk?  Of course he is,” a House GOP aide says his boss grumbled to him recently. “He’s a boozer.”

A week after voting for a bill that brought even more criticism from the conservative wing of the GOP, Boehner spotted Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in the White House lobby, walked up and jabbed a finger at the Democratic Leader, and said “go __ yourself!”
Republicans with Boehner said he reeked of alcohol at the time.
It’s one thing to be drunk with power.  It’s even worse to be a drunk who abuses power.

They have one unabated goal: to undermine him, his agenda and his legacy at every possible turn. And regarding his legacy, Obamacare will likely be what the president is remembered for most (aside from the historic significance that he's the first black president): that he had the vision for it, yet woefully lacked the skills and b__s to sell it. >>

NO STAND-DOWN ORDER DURING BENGHAZI ATTACK. AMERICAN MILITARY COUP FAILED.

GENERAL PAUL VALLELY IS NOT THE ONLY HIGH-RANKING MILITARY MAN WHO WANTS TO OUST OBAMA BY MILITARY COUP, BUT HE MAY BE THE MOST HONEST.
VALLELY HAS GONE ON RECORD MORE THAN ONCE AS SAYING HE'D BE DELIGHTED TO LEAD A COUP TO TAKE THE PRESIDENCY AWAY FROM OBAMA.
Paul Vallely, a retired major general and senior military analyst for the conservative news channel FOX, told the Surprise, Arizona, Tea Party Patriots during a Dec. 3 speech that other retired military personnel and veterans groups had contacted him about the possibility.
“I had a call this afternoon from Idaho, the gentleman said, ‘If I give you 250,000 Marines to go to Washington, will you lead them?’” Vallely said as the group laughed and gasped. “I said, ‘Yes, I will, I’ll surround the White House and I’ll surround the Capitol building, but it’s going to take physical presence to do things.”

A COUP HAS ALREADY BEEN TRIED AND 7 HEADS ROLLED IN RAPID SUCCESSION AFTER THEIR FAILED ATTEMPT!

Representative Buck McKeon wrote a letter to Obama in which he stated  ”As we are painfully aware, despite the fact that the military had resources in the area, the military did not deploy any assets to secure U.S. personnel in Benghazi during the hours the consulate and the annex were under attack. I find it implausible that the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Commander of U.S. Africa Command (General Hamm) and the Commander of U.S. European Command would have ignored a direct order from the Commander in Chief.”

THEY DIDN'T IGNORE ANYTHING. AS HAS NOW BEEN PROVEN, THERE WAS NO "STAND-DOWN" ORDER, AND OBAMA HAD TURNED THE ENTIRE OPERATION OVER TO THE MILITARY, TO LEON PANETTA AND GENERAL DEMPSEY WHO HAVE BOTH TESTIFIED THAT OBAMA ISSUED NO STAND-DOWN ORDERS, NOR DID HILLARY CLINTON!
THEY BOTH TESTIFIED THAT OBAMA'S WORDS WERE  to “employ all possible means to secure our personnel”, AND THAT HE TOLD THEM TO DO ALL THAT WAS NECESSARY TO THAT END.

THE MILITARY/CIA SACRIFICED STEVENS AND THE OTHERS TO TRY TO RESCUE THEIR OWN COUP ATTEMPT AND KEEP THE GUN-RUNNING OUT OF MAINSTREAM MEDIA.

THERE WAS NO STAND-DOWN ORDER GIVEN THAT DAY, AND THAT HAS BEEN TESTIFIED TO BY A MAN WHO WAS THERE AND WHO OUGHT TO KNOW, LT. COL. S.E.GIBSON. AND THAT ORDERS CAME FROM THE SECRETARY OF DEFENSE, LEON PANETTA.

The eight Republicans on the House Armed Services Committee issued a report concluding that, “There was no ‘stand down’ order issued to U.S. military personnel in Tripoli who sought to join the fight in Benghazi.”
Lieutenant Colonel Gibson’s instructions were precisely clarified in a colloquy before the Armed Services Committee:
<<Mrs. Roby: ... Do you agree that you and your team were ordered to ... “stand down?”

Colonel Gibson:  Madam Chairman, I was not ordered to stand down.  I was ordered to remain in place.  “Stand down” implies that we cease all operations, cease all activities.  We continued to support the team that was in Tripoli.  We continued to maintain visibility of the events as they unfolded.>>

The Republican House Armed Services Committee report concluded that, “There was no ‘stand down’ order issued to U.S. military personnel in Tripoli who sought to join the fight in Benghazi,” AND THAT REPORT ALSO EXPLAINED THAT "the Defense Department did, in fact, begin spinning up assets immediately", contrary to  accusations.

When the Department of State learned the SMC [Special Mission Compound] was being assaulted on September 11, officials notified DOD’s National Military Command Center at the Pentagon. 
Thus began a chain of events that involved DOD allocating various forces to the crisis.  The response decisions were based upon what forces were available and could readily be brought to bear on the situation as it was understood by senior leaders.

Asked why no outside forces were deployed to Benghazi during the attack, Ham responded that after the initial assault on the U.S. special mission he believed the attack was finished.
However, his explanation may raise questions about his stated judgment that night, which turned out to be mortally off base. The Benghazi consulate was no more than a CIA safe house

<<Obama earnestly supports the ideas of the late Professor Seymour Melman of the University of Columbia;
Melman was part of a circle of peace advocates led by University of Pennsylvania Professor Zellig Harris that included Noam Chomsky, Marcus Raskin, Harley Shaiken, John Ullmann, Lloyd J. Dumas, John Kenneth Galbraith, among many others. He was also on the advisory board of FFIPP-USA (Faculty for Israeli-Palestinian Peace-USA), a network of Palestinian, Israeli, and International faculty and students working for an end of the "Israeli occupation" of Palestinian territories and for a "just peace" – meaning a peace favoring the Palestinians.

WHAT HAS OBAMA SAID ABOUT THIS BEFORE?
Bob Woodward writes in his book, Obama's Wars, that at one crucial White House meeting, Obama said:

    "There needs to be a plan about how we're going to hand it [Afghanistan] off and get out of Afghanistan. Everything we're doing has to be focused on how we're going to get to the point where we can reduce our footprint. It's in our national security interest. There cannot be any wiggle room."

And he went on to say:

    "I'm not doing long-term nation-building. I am not spending a trillion dollars [on defense]."

Reporting on the picture that Woodward painted in his book concerning Obama's relationship with the generals, Robert Dreyfuss writes:

    "One of the biggest sources of tension reported in the book is between the generals and Obama's political people, who recognize that the war isn't popular. Throughout, Obama seems aware that he is in danger of morphing into President Bush, fighting a losing war endlessly, while losing political support at home. At one point, Obama says,

        'I can't let this be a war without end, and I can't lose the whole Democratic Party'."

NOTE: So much of the Defense Budget is tied in one way or another to the Middle East that it is almost impossible to fathom, BUT cutting the Defense Budget plays into the hands of those seeking peace in the Middle East at Israel's expense.
Melman's ideas, therefore, draw in anti-Israel advocates to them, as illustrated by the membership of the FFIPP.

As things stand today, America's military forces occupy nearly the entire planet with new estimates showing 60,000 US special operations forces are now conducting assassinations, night-raids, training missions, joint operations and exercises in 120 countries around the world. 

What Obama wants to do is put Melman's ideas into practice by shrinking the U.S. Defense budget by as much as 50% and shifting all those trillionsinto the civilian economy; but in order to do this, ANYONE, including Obama would be forced to collapse the American New World Order System that Big Daddy Bush and so many before him have touted as the "only way", and shift the governance of the world to international organizations such as the United Nations.
OBAMA IS NOT AVERSE TO GIVING THE U.N. CONTROL OF THE UNITED STATES.

HE HAD TO BE STOPPED.

HE HAD TO BE STOPPED JUST AS KENNEDY WAS STOPPED WHEN HE WAS GOING TO GET US OUT OF VIETNAM AND END THE RULE OF AMERICA BY ITS BANKING ELITE/WALL STREET CROWD WHOM HE KNEW TO BE IN CAHOOTS WITH THE PENTAGON/MILOITARY WAR-MONGERS!

There seems to be very little doubt that Obama and his surrogates have been aware that the generals were planning a coup d'etat against him: it appears that the FBI had been keeping Obama abreast of what was happening. Indeed, IT WAS PRECISELY FOR THAT REASON THAT OBAMA BESTOWED AN "UPSIDE-DOWN" PROMOTION ON PETRAEUS, MOVING HIM OUT OF THE MILITARY COMMAND STRUCTURE – a command structure Obama felt,

    THREATENED him;

    LOATHED both him and his left-leaning followers.

OBAMA: DETERMINED NOT TO GO THE WAY OF KENNEDY

Obama was determined not to go the way Kennedy went – at least if he had anything to say about it.

It was precisely for this reason that Obama has moved decisively against those he considers to be the coup's main plotters after the election: "forcing" the resignation of General Petraeus from the CIA, dismissing Rear Admiral Charles M. Gaouette from his command of the Stennis strike group in the Mediterranean, firing General Carter F. Ham from AfriCorp, dismissing General Allen from his command in Afghanistan, and forcing the "resignations" of Brigadier General Jeffery A. Sinclair and US Navy Commander Joseph E. Darlak PLUS a whole host of less-well known officers – all of which gives evidence as to the decisive effort by Obama and his allies AFTER the election to stomp out all vestiges of the coup d'etat that they believed the military had been directing at them.

Indeed, according to a poll done recently by the Associated Press, more than 65% of all Americans view the military as the most honorable and deeply respected institution in the country, while only a relatively small minority of the population respects the "politicos" that haunt the corridors of the White House and Congress. 

STILL...It is precisely for this reason – i.e., the fact that America's "politicos" are despised by so many Americans while the military is both respected and honored by a huge majority of the same Americans – that Obama and his followers had to move carefully against the schemers, even after they had become fully aware of the planned coup.

<<Army soldiers formed a militia group in Georgia that plotted to overthrow the U.S. government — and they killed a fellow soldier and his girlfriend to keep the plot secret, prosecutors alleged Monday, according to the Associated Press.
Prosecutors in the Long County, Ga., case say that the militia group planned to overtake the nearby Fort Stewart, to bomb a dam in Washington state and poison the state’s apple crop and ultimately overthrow the government and assassinate the president, according to reports."This domestic terrorist organization did not simply plan and talk," prosecutor Isabel Pauley told the judge. "Prior to the murders in this case, the group took action. Evidence shows the group possessed the knowledge, means and motive to carry out their plans." 

One of the four soldiers charged, Pfc. Michael Burnett, backed up the prosecutor’s claims Monday, after he pleaded guilty to manslaughter and agreed to testify against the others, the AP reported.
The other defendants, Pvt. Isaac Aguigui, Sgt. Anthony Peden and Pvt. Christopher Salmon, have been charged in criminal court with murder and criminal gang activity, among other charges. The Army also filed charges against the four soldiers, according to reports, although it has not acted on them.>>

<<Navy Captain Ted Williams was relieved of duty pending investigation into alleged misconduct.
Two more senior American Navy commanders have been added to the growing list of high-ranking military officers relieved of duty due to ‘personal’ misconduct.

Two commanding officers in US Navy’s 6th Fleet based in Italy were stripped of their commands on Monday pending investigations into “allegations of misconduct,” US-based journal Foreign Policy quoted a Navy statement on Tuesday,.
According to the report, 24 American naval officers have so far been relieved of their commands this year on charges of misconduct.
Cmdr. Ray Hartman, commanding officer of amphibious dock-landing ship USS Fort McHenry was relieved of his command on Monday. Also relieved was Navy Capt. Ted Williams, top officer of the USS Mount Whitney, an amphibious command ship.
Williams, according to the report, was previously a transitory replacement No. 2 officer of the USS Eisenhower aircraft carrier after that ship's executive officer, Capt. Robert Gamberg, was found guilty of an "improper relationship."
A Navy official speaking on condition of anonymity is quoted in the report as saying that both officers were relieved of duty over offense of “personal misconduct… not anything to do with the operation of the ship or the mission of the ship.”
Less than three weeks ago, another ship commander and three naval officers were relieved of duty for drunken conduct during a port call in Russia.>>

All that is needed for a new coup attempt to be made is some kind of MIND-NUMBING EVENT (whether a "manufactured one" like 9-11 or not, no matter) that will lead to a dictatorial takeover of the United States by the Religious-Right in conjunction with America's financial elites and supported by the American military – an event that will precipitate the OVERT imposition of police-state controls on the American population; an event such as –

    the collapse of the economy

    chaos in Europe

    an Israeli air attack on Iran

    any number of natural catastrophes such as a major earthquake, flood, etc.

    and, most significant of all, a manufactured "9-11"-type crisis.

The forces  arrayed against Obama are simply too great for him to withstand over any extended length of time. Obama's left-wing followers possess no guns; they do not command America's financial elites; and his followers are nothing more than a very loose and somewhat disjointed collection of factions (blacks, Hispanics, militant feminists, the gay and lesbian community, etc.) that are held together by nothing more than their hatred of "White America" and their distaste for Christianity.

AND, ON THE OTHER SIDE, THE OBAMA HATERS: LONGING FOR A NEW CAMELOT

Most Christian evangelicals will see this as more fuel to feed the flames of hatred that are raging in their hearts against Obama. These are those who haunt what Heilbrunn calls "the usual Obama-hating venues."

They will be saddened by the fact that the coup attempt failed;
William Greider, former assistant managing editor of The Washington Post, explains why; he writes:

    "The decayed condition of American democracy is difficult to grasp ... Symptoms of distress are accumulating freely in the political system and citizens are demoralized ... A climate of stagnant doubt has enveloped contemporary politics, a generalized disappointment that is too diffuse and intangible to be easily confronted ... This dissonance ... is so discomforting that many naturally turn away from its implications ... In place of meaningful democracy, the political community has embraced a ... culture of false appearances ... [It] responds to the public's desires with an artful dance of symbolic [and vacant] gestures - hollow laws that are emptied of serious content in the private bargaining of Washington. Promises are made and never kept. Laws are enacted and never enforced. When ordinary people organize themselves to confront the deception, they find themselves too marginalized to make much difference.

    "There is, as a result, an almost palpable yearning within today's electorate to be rescued from all this; a desire for some kind of Arthurian figure to step forward and put an end to it."

BRAIN TUMORS FROM CELL PHONE USE INCREASED 2012-2014

IN MAY 2011, THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION STATED THAT CELL PHONE RADIATION CAN CAUSE CANCER.

THEY MAY HAVE BEEN FORCED INTO MAKING THIS STATEMENT AFTER SO MANY INDEPENDENT STUDIES HAVE SHOWN THE CORRELATION BETWEEN EXTENSIVE CELL PHONE USE AND BRAIN TUMORS.  AS CNN REPORTED:
A team of 31 scientists from 14 countries, including the United States, made the decision after reviewing peer-reviewed studies on cell phone safety. The team found enough evidence to categorize personal exposure as "possibly carcinogenic to humans."
What that means is they found some evidence of increase in glioma and acoustic neuroma brain cancer for mobile phone users...
"The biggest problem we have is that we know most environmental factors take several decades of exposure before we really see the consequences," said Dr. Keith Black, chairman of neurology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. 
The European Environmental Agency has pushed for more studies, saying cell phones could be as big a public health risk as smoking, asbestos and leaded gasoline. The head of a prominent cancer-research institute at the University of Pittsburgh sent a memo to all employees urging them to limit cell phone use because of a possible risk of cancer.  
Results from the largest international study on cell phones and cancer was released in 2010. It showed participants in the study who used a cell phone for 10 years or more had doubled the rate of brain glioma, a type of tumor. To date, there have been no long-term studies on the effects of cell phone usage among children.   
BUT THE RISK TO CHILDREN IS MANY TIMES GREATER THAN TO ADULTS, AS IS THE RISK TO UNBORN FETUSES.

The BioInitiative Working Group says evidence for health risk from wireless tech is growing stronger and warrants immediate action. The Group released a mid-year update covering new science studies from 2012 to 2014.

New studies intensify medical concerns about malignant brain tumors from cell phone use. “There is a consistent pattern of increased risk for glioma (a malignant brain tumor) and acoustic neuroma with use of mobile and cordless phones,” says Lennart Hardell, MD, PhD at Orebro University, Sweden, according to studies released in 2012 and 2013. “Epidemiological evidence shows that radiofrequency should be classified as a known human carcinogen. The existing FCC/IEEE and ICNIRP public safety limits are not adequate to protect public health.”  
The BioInitiative reports nervous system effects in 68% of studies on radiofrequency radiation (144 of 211 studies) in 2014. This has increased from 63% in 2012 (93 of 150 studies) in 2012. Studies of extremely-low frequency radiation are reported to cause nervous system effects in 90% of the 105 studies available in 2014. Genetic effects (damage to DNA) from radiofrequency radiation is reported in 65% (74 of 114 studies); and 83% (49 of 59 studies) of extremely-low frequency studies. 

Mobile wireless devices like phones and tablets are big sources of unnecessary biological stress to the mind and body that can chip away at resilience over time.

The Report warns against wireless in schools. Schools should provide internet access without Wi-FI.
“It is essentially an unregulated experiment on childrens’ health and learning. Microwave from wireless tech disrupts thinking – what could be worse for learning? Technology can be used more safely with wired devices that do not produce these biologically-disruptive levels of microwave radiation,” said Cindy Sage, Co-Editor of the BioInitiative Report.
Federal programs like ConnectED and E-Rate are calling for wireless classrooms while ignoring the health evidence. Hyperactivity, concentration problems, anxiety, irritability, disorientation, distracted behavior, sleep disorders, and headaches are reported in clinical studies.

The FCC review of health impacts from wireless technologies is still underway, but has not affected the federal push for wireless classrooms.

Researchers Report Alarming Rise in Brain Cancer in Scandinavian Countries,The Investor Relations Group, 11/2/2011 Environmental Health Trust Reports Continued and Unexplained Increases in Brain Cancer Incidence in Nations With Longer-Term Cell Phone Use
 New cases of brain tumors have continued to rise throughout the past three decades in some Scandinavian countries with longer-term and heavier cell phone use, according to analyses conducted by Environmental Health Trust scientists.  The analyses are based on data provided by the national cancer registries of Finland and Norway to the International Agency for Research on Cancer.  Death rates have dropped, reflecting improvements in treatment and early detection, but incidence has increased over the past decade for both men and women.  In Norway, brain tumor incidence rose in men and women about 1.7 and 2.8 percent each year for the past decade, with women who use cell phones more having higher rates than men.  Similar but smaller increases were evident in Norway.

“The need for careful and complete surveillance of populations for possible changes in brain tumor incidence is clear, as is the need to expand research and training in this area,” added Ronald B. Herberman, MD, oncologist and chairman of EHT’s Board.  “Based on the laboratory and epidemiological evidence to date, the grounds for taking precautionary actions to reduce direct exposure to the brain and body from cell phone radiation are stronger than ever.”

Earlier analyses from Australia by renowned neurosurgeon Vini Kharuna also found unexplained increases in malignant gliomas—a tumor linked to long-term cellphone use in several studies.

UNDERESTIMATED EXPOSURE LEVELS, ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN!
The higher risk to children is clear:  Children absorb twice the cellphone radiation to the heads, up to triple in the their brain’s hippocampus and hypothalamus, greater absorption in their eyes, and as much as 10-times more in their bone marrow when compared to adults.
This paper describes how cellphones are certified to meet the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) exposure limit for the maximum amount of microwave cellphone radiation that will be absorbed in the head or other parts of the body of a cellphone user.  The only trouble is that the industry-designed certification process so under-estimates the actual absorption of cellphone radiation that all cellphone users who keep their cellphone in their pockets absorb cellphone radiation above the FCC exposure limit.  Further, even if not kept in pockets, when held next to the head, 97% of the population will exceed the certified level of absorbed radiation, and even more so for children who will absorb more than two times the certified cellphone radiation.
That’s the bad news. The good news is that this paper describes an alternative FCC approved process already used extensively within the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).  The alternative process uses MRI-scans of a set of real human beings to determine the amount of radiation absorbed in every tissue.  It is called, the “Virtual Family” and includes a 5-year old girl, a 6-year old boy, an 8-year old girl, an 11-year old girl, a 14-year old boy, a 26-year old female, a 35-year old male, an obese male adult and 3 pregnant women at 3rd, 7th and 9th months of gestation, allowing for appropriate cellphone certifications for the most vulnerable cellphone users.

After they're evaluated, the containers can be used to remove waste from Los Alamos National Laboratory by the state's June 30 deadline.  

This week's town hall meeting about WIPP has been rescheduled for Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the Carlsbad City Council chambers at 101 N. Halagueno St.>>

HANG ON!  The United Steel Workers union represents about 300 WIPP workers. Jim Frederick, USW assistant director of health, safety and environment, says the union’s primary question is: “Is this place going to be safe for our folks to go back to?” 

Like other stakeholders, the union is awaiting the results of the investigation into the radiation leak before it weighs in on what kind of protections may be needed going forward. 

“What was not in place that might have kept this from happening?” Frederick asked. “And what do we need to do to keep the workers safe and make sure the public health risks are kept at zero or very, very close to zero?”

AS WILDFIRE SEASON APPROACHES, N.M. GOVERNOR PUSHES FOR DISPOSAL OF ABOVE-GROUND CONTAINERS THAT WOULD BE AT RISK IF FIRES INVADED THE NUCLEAR WASTE DUMP SITE. 

After a large wildfire lapped at the edges of lab property in summer 2011, New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez identified removal of the waste as a top priority.

The Federal Government still hasn't removed the nuclear waste which is now a public health hazard.

<<The New Mexico Environment Department is giving the federal government a deadline for dealing with radioactive waste that's sitting above ground at a nuclear dump.

Dozens of drums and other special containers of waste are being stored in a PARKING LOT at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant near Carlsbad and inside the facility's waste handling building.

The waste is usually taken to its final resting place deep in underground salt beds. But, the repository has been closed since early February after back-to-back accidents, including a radiation release that exposed at least 13 workers, which has been making headlines.

In an administrative order that was just made public, deadlines and other requirements for the dump were outlined. State officials say this order helps them keep a closer watch on what is happening at that site in New Mexico.

Due to the closure, the state is extending both deadlines to allow the federal government time to develop an alternative storage plan if the underground dump remains off-limits for more than three months.  

Jeff Kendall, general counsel for the department, said state officials believe allowing a little more time to fully vet all the options for safely storing the waste is the best bet.

The above-ground material targeted by the state Environment Department's order includes 145 cubic meters of waste in containers of various sizes and shapes.  

THAT "EXTENSION" MUST BE NICE FOR WIPP, EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE ALREADY EXCEEDED THE LIMITS BY 40 DAYS AND 16 RESPECTIVELY, BUT WHAT IF WILDFIRES BURN THOSE CONTAINERS?  


At a press conference in Albuquerque Monday to kick off "Wildfire Awareness Week," she said continuing historic drought conditions heighten the risk of what already has the potential to be another active summer of fires.

So far this year, nearly 100 fires have burned close to 6,000 acres of state and private land.

 McRoberts had claimed that WIPP was already receiving shipments and that the repository was dry.  

OTHERS CLAIMED that the repository remained unopened at the time because in 1987 salt-laden water was found to be seeping inside.  

[NOTE:IT HAS BEEN DISCLOSED THAT THE SALT CAVERNS OF WIPP WERE INDEED LEAKING BEFORE THE FACILITY WAS OPENED!  SOMEONE FOUND PHOTOS OF THE STALAGMITES/STALACTITES FORMED BY THOSE VERY LEAKS!]

WIPP'S STALACTITES ARE COMPOSED OF HALITE.   

"Halite is NaCl -common salt- which is highly reactive with metals, both of the metal barrels and the transuranic metals (e.g. plutonium, americium) found within the metal barrels.  

Stalactites, leaks and even roof collapse might be controllable if they would put proper rows and aisles in the WIPP “Facility”, but no, they think they must jam pack the maximum nuclear waste possible into the space. That is dumb. And, WIPP is therefore a DUMP."

One State Senator told the New Mexico press that:
“We have waste we aren’t sure about, stored in containers that haven’t been approved, travelling over roads that haven’t been improved and being put in salt beds we don’t know about. 
 We’d like to put the brakes on before we get to the edge of the cliff.” 

Given that WIPP, until the recent problems,  was the only OPERATIONAL deep geologic disposal facility operating in the world (in Europe, especially Eastern Europe, it is frequently–and incorrectly–described as a “high-level” radioactive waste site by nuclear advocates), the lessons, whatever they turn out to be, from the series of WIPP failures surely will affect other proposed and potential sites for years to come.

INTERESTINGLY, IN 1990, JUST SUCH AN ACCIDENT WAS PREDICTED BY EXPERTS!

April 10, 1990: A radiological health expert Monday predicted five accidents in New Mexico involving nuclear waste shipments to the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant during the project's 25-year life - including one in which radioactivity would be released.

A poll found residents of southern New Mexico opposed the project three to one, but because of considerable encouragement from local businessmen and politicians, the project eventually moved forward. 

Many New Mexicans fought the WIPP project, knowing that, in the expected 10,000-year life of the project, there eventually would be problems.  

Locals felt their concerns had been ignored, while local and state politicians used the depressed economic conditions in southern New Mexico to push the project forward since it promised jobs.  

Given that it is a mere 15 years since the site began receiving waste, the concern appears to be justified.

BUT DO NOTICE....THE FACILITY BEGAN RECEIVING WASTE 15 YEARS AGO (AS OF 2014) , BUT PHOTOS AND DOCUMENTS REVEALED WATER SEEPAGE, ONGOING LEAKS AND STALACTITES IN 1987... 27 YEARS AGO!  
WIPP LIED, THE DOE LIED, WHEN THEY TOLD RESIDENTS THE PLACE WAS DRY!  

Don Hancock, director of the Nuclear Waste Safety Program at Southwest Research and Information Center, who has been monitoring WIPP since 1975 and is familiar with the technical, policy, regulatory and legal issues related to the site, is reluctant to state there are any “guaranteed” methods of safely storing radioactive waste. 

“Given that long-lived nuclear wastes are dangerous for thousands of generations, emplacing them deep underground is a possible ‘solution,’ but it certainly isn't ‘guaranteed,’ ” he said.

“Neither WIPP, nor the proposed Yucca Mountain site in Nevada, are ‘ideal’ and meet publicly accepted standards. Both sites were picked for political, not technical, reasons, so it is not surprising that they are inadequate.”

Hancock believes that what is needed is a decades-long program to develop technical standards for any sites then a comprehensive national effort to identify the “best” sites that might meet the standards, then testing and establishing public “consent” for such sites (including a truck and train transportation system). 

He also recommends careful state and national regulatory oversight of development, operation and decontamination and decommissioning of such facilities, and long-term safety procedures to help protect future generations, should nuclear waste operations be continued.>> 

MOST LIKELY, YOU COULD NOT PAY ANY POLITICIAN TO LIVE NEAR ANY NUCLEAR FACILITY LIKE WIPP, BUT YOU MOST LIKELY COULD PAY THEM TO PUT ONE ANY PLACE NOT NEAR THEIR SAFE HOMES THAT YOU CHOSE ...FOR ENOUGH MONEY!

ONCE AGAIN, THE AMERICAN CITIZENS HAVE BEEN DECLARED "EXPENDABLE".

TO CONTINUE TO EXTEND THE TIME LIMITS PLACED ON BOTH CLEANUP OF THE MOST RECENT ACCIDENT AND WASTE DISPOSAL OF ABOVE-GROUND CONTAINERS AT THE WIPP SITE IS TO INVITE DISASTER! 

WHEN YOU GO TO THE POLLS NEXT TIME, TRY TO REMEMBER WHO FOUGHT FOR YOU AND WHO FOUGHT FOR THE PEOPLE WHO BUILD AND RUN THESE NUCLEAR FACILITIES!

WIPP HAS FEWER THAN 2000 EMPLOYEES, AS COMPARED TO MANY MILLIONS OF LOCAL RESIDENTS WHO ARE EACH DAY IN HARM'S WAY FROM THIS STILL-LEAKING NIGHTMARE!   

WIPP, FUKUSHIMA, AND ALL THE OTHER SUCH DELAPIDATED NUCLEAR FACILITIES HAVE CONTINUOUSLY LIED AND DOWNPLAYED THEIR HARMFUL EFFECTS ON HUYMAN LIVES.
SO HAS THE DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY, THE NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION AND ALL WHO HAVE  FINGERS IN THE NUCLEAR ENERGY PIE.

WE CANNOT COUNT ON ANY OF THEM FOR STRAIGHT ANSWERS OR FACTS OR TRUTH.
WE MUST RELY ON THOSE WHO LIVE NEAR THESE CURSED SITES WHO ARE EXPERIENCING THE EFFECTS OF "NUCLEAR ACCIDENTS", ANTIQUATED, LEAKY SYSTEMS AND RUN-DOWN CONTAINMENT STRUCTURES.   
UNFORTUNATELY, SADLY, TOO MANY OF THEM HAVE DIED TRYING TO GET THE REST OF US TO LISTEN, TO SEE, TO CONSIDER THEIR PLIGHTS WORTHY OF OUR CONSIDERATION.
