FUKUSHIMA EVACUEES' FORCED RETURN: BAN ON JAPANESE IMPORTS CONTINUE

ABOVE: SHINZO ABE, KAMIKAZE PILOT MINDSET?

Dec 9, 2016 - Fish contaminated by radiation from the Fukushima nuclear plant in Japan have been detected 6,000 miles away of the US west coast. Salmon carrying traces of caesium 134 particles - the so-called fingerprint of the Fukushima - were found by researchers in the seas off Oregon. Scientists also found the particles in seawater taken from the Tillamook Bay and Gold Beach in Oregon.
AFTER 7 LONG YEARS THE U.N. FINALLY SPEAKS OUT AGAINST THE ABE REGIME'S HANDLING OF EVACUEES...SORT OF.

The Japanese government recently came under pressure in a United Nations human rights forum over the adequacy of its support for people who fled the disaster zone – and faced scrutiny about radiation levels in places where evacuees have returned.

IT'S ABOUT BLOODY TIME, YES?
BUT WILL JAPAN'S ABE STOP THE FORCED RETURNS?
NOT WITH THE UPCOMING 2020 OLYMPICS LOOMING.
ABE WANTS THE WORLD TO BELIEVE JAPAN IS A SAFE PLACE TO VISIT.
HE CAN'T AFFORD TO HAVE SOME OF HIS OWN PEOPLE REFUSING TO GO BACK TO AREAS WITH KNOWN HIGH RADIATION LEVELS.

HOW HIGH?
1 March 2018

Tokyo, Japan – A comprehensive survey by Greenpeace Japan in the towns of Iitate and Namie in Fukushima prefecture, including the exclusion zone, revealed radiation levels up to 100 times higher than the international limit for public exposure.

The high radiation levels in these areas pose a significant risk to returning evacuees until at least the 2050’s and well into next century.

“In all of the areas we surveyed, including where people are permitted to live, the radiation levels are such that if it was in a nuclear facility it would require strict controls. Yet this is public land. Citizens, including children and pregnant women returning to their contaminated homes, are at risk of receiving radiation doses equivalent to one chest X-ray every week. This is unacceptable and a clear violation of their human rights, ” said Jan Vande Putte, radiation specialist with Greenpeace Belgium and leader of the survey project.

The investigations [were carried out] in September and October 2017, measuring tens of thousands of data points around homes, forests, roads and farmland in the open areas of Namie and Iitate, as well as inside the closed Namie exclusion zone. The government plans to open up small areas of the exclusion zone, including Obori and Tsushima, for human habitation in 2023.

The survey shows the decontamination program to be ineffective, combined with a region that is 70-80% mountainous forest which cannot be decontaminated.

[MY NOTE:The Fukushima prefectural government says that the number of evacuees peaked at 164,865 in 2012, the year after the disaster, but that figure has now fallen to about 50,000 with decontamination work progressing and the lifting of evacuation orders in a number of towns. The government does not mention suicides, deaths in that group, nor the fact that many have decided to either leave Japan or move permanently as far away from all nuclear plants as they can afford to go. 'In one place only 6% of original residents moved back' - #Fukushima docu filmmaker http://on.rt.com/76nn ]

The Government’s policy to effectively force people to return by ending housing and other financial support is not working, with population return rates of 2.5% and 7% in Namie and Iitate respectively as of December 2017.

“Our radiation survey results provides evidence that there is a significant risk to health and safety for any returning evacuee. The Japanese government must stop forcing people to go back home and protect their rights,” said Kazue Suzuki, Energy Campaigner at Greenpeace Japan. “It is essential that the government fully accept and immediately apply the recommendations at the United Nations.”

Several countries took up the issue of the rights of Fukushima residents and evacuees as part of the UN’s universal periodic review of Japan.

Austria, for example, urged the government to continue to provide housing support to so-called voluntary evacuees.

These are people who had been living outside officially designated evacuation zones but fled because of their fears about radiation.

Their housing aid ended about a year ago.

Portugal, meanwhile, called on Japan to ensure women and men had equal participation in decision-making processes about their resettlement and Mexico urged the government to guarantee access to health services.

Germany’s representatives focused on radiation levels.

Under Japanese government policies, evacuation orders can be lifted if the level of exposure for residents is estimated to be below 20 millisievert (mSv) per year.

THIS IS THE ALLOWED EXPOSURE FOR NUCLEAR POWER PLANT WORKERS, AS OPPOSED TO THE 1mSv/YEAR ALLOWED BY OTHER NATIONS FOR THEIR CITIZENS.

THE ABE REGIME ALLOWS 20 TIMES THE "NORM" JUST SO IT CAN FORCE PEOPLE BACK AND CONVINCE THE WORLD ALL IS WELL.
NO, ALL IS NOT WELL.

Germany called on the government to “respect the rights of persons living in the area of Fukushima, in particular of pregnant women and children, to the highest level of physical and mental health, notably by restoring the allowable dose of radiation to the 1 mSv/year limit, and by a continuing support to the evacuees and residents.”

Incidentally, even the International Commission on Radiological Protection recommends that the level for people in contaminated areas should be in the lower part of the 1 to 20 mSv/year range, with a long-term post-accident target of 1 mSv/year.

In a response dated March 1, the Japanese government said it accepted these four recommendations for follow-up, while arguing that it was providing necessary support to affected people under the relevant laws.

The minister for reconstruction, Masayoshi Yoshino, subsequently told foreign journalists and diplomats that the government was effectively already committed to the long-term target advocated by Germany. “We have proceeded with decontamination efforts and as a long-term goal the government has indicated 1 mSv per annum,” he said during a briefing at the Foreign Press Center Japan on March 7.

REALLY?

LET'S GO TO THE PEOPLE OF JAPAN, SEE WHAT THEY HAVE TO SAY.

Well before the Fukushima accident, public support for nuclear power in Japan had been eroded since the 1990s due to a series of accidents and scandals.

July, 2007, the Niigata Chuetsu-Oki earthquake occurred on a fault very close to the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa nuclear power plant, and the ground acceleration exceeded the design parameters for the plant, i.e., it was more severe than the plant was required to be designed for.
BTW, Japan has never been party to any international nuclear liability convention.

Fukushima evacuee to tell UN that Japan violated human rights

11 Oct 2017
Mitsuko Sonoda will say evacuees face financial hardship and are being forced to return to homes they believe are unsafe

The problem, according to environmental activists, is that the (so-called) time-frame for achieving that 1mSV per year goal is vague (that "long-term goal" simply isn't possible with Daiichi leaking like a sieve).

AFTER ALL, JAPAN HAS VACILLATED BETWEEN ESTIMATES OF 40 YEARS AND OVER 100 YEARS FOR THE COMPLETION OF CLEANUP AT FUKUSHIMA AND AN END TO THE INCESSANT RADIATION LEAKS.

DOES ABE PLAN TO FORCE AN ENTIRE NEW GENERATION OF JAPANESE CHILDREN TO ENDURE SUCH HIGH LEVELS OF RADIATION ALL THEIR LIVES AS WELL?

WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN NEWBORN JAPANESE CHILDREN START SHOWING THE BIRTH DEFECTS THAT 'CHILDREN OF CHERNOBYL' ARE BORN WITH STILL TODAY?

Apr 22, 2015 - A drone carrying small traces of a radioactive material landed on the roof of Japanese Prime Minister's office in protest against the government's nuclear energy plans.
Japanese Mothers have silently tackled these difficulties, including health problems in themselves and their children.
'Is it safe to stay here, Mom?' Fukushima evacuees on aftermath of disaster

"The government people and the scientists and professors, they kept saying on TV that there would be no danger,” Fukushima evacuee Hiroko Tsuzuki told RT from Sapporo, Japan. "I found out that the radiation level on March 15 was almost 200 times higher than the usual level. I was so shocked,” she said.

“In that same period my daughter’s son had a nose bleed several times. My son cried and asked: ‘Is it okay to stay here, Mom?’ I was so ignorant about these things. I could not protect my children from exposure to radiation,” Tsuzuki said.

“Radioactive contamination poses hazards far beyond Fukushima. It spreads beyond the official exclusion zone. I think it is unsafe to return children there,” says Ken Sakamoto, from the Evacuation and Support Kanagawa Network, an organization that helps the Fukushima evacuees to protect their rights. “Today it seems that the Japanese government does not take the refugee problem quite seriously. That’s why the plight of those displaced has worsened considerably of late.”

“The five-year anniversary of the Fukushima Accident… is a gaping wound in our planet that will continue to bleed radiation into our food chain for at least the next 100 years, affecting our health and genetic legacy for generations to come.”

Nancy Foust, research team member of the Fukushima Project, is concerned how soon people are being allowed to return to that area.

“Many of these areas are not truly safe, they have not been properly cleaned up, infrastructure has not been put back in place,” Foust told RT.

“There is also the problem of proximity to the actual disaster site. They have a lot of complicated and very risky work that to do in the next couple of decades to remove the melted fuel,” Foust said, adding that the idea of re-locating people back from evacuations right now is “very premature and not a really good idea.”

“Restarting reactors in the manner they’ve done them is problematic. It has been very much a political move rather than a determined social need that they really need to restart them,” Foust said.

THE REAL REASON FOR SO MANY INACCURATE REPORTS ON RADIATION LEVELS , FROM FUKUSHIMA?

After the earthquake and tsunami, most radiation dose-monitoring equipment and meteorological monitors were either damaged by the tsunami or were out of service because of the loss of power. In addition, the models did not incorporate all the variables needed to ACCURATELY calculate human external exposure and inhalation so the local authorities were reluctant to rely heavily on them in their decision-making process. There were also reports that initially the authorities did not know about SPEEDI, and later on played down the data to dismiss the severity of the accident for fear of having to significantly expand the evacuation zone, and to avoid compensation payments to still more evacuees.

TRANSLATION?
THE GOVERNMENT AND TEPCO LIED TO SAVE THEMSELVES MONEY AND 'SAVE FACE'.

In Fukushima, on 25 March, approximately 62,000 residents were advised to evacuate voluntarily OR to stay indoors. Orders to ‘shelter in place’ or to voluntarily evacuate were unclear and long-winded, leading some people to move into areas with high levels of radiation and eventually be evacuated multiple times.
According to the Nuclear Accident Independent Investigation Commission (NAIIC), the Japanese government was slow in informing the municipal governments and the public about the accident and its severity.

THEY LIED TO SAVE THEMSELVES MONEY AND SAVE FACE.

Tens of thousands were permanently displaced from the immediate vicinities; thousands made the decision to move because of health concerns, environmental degradation and collapsed infrastructure; and millions remained in contaminated areas due to an absence of resources and/or opportunities, financial constraints and special attachment to their home.

However, a lack of information relayed to affected populations exacerbated long-term effects of the crisis on these populations.
An estimated 1,539 stress-related deaths occurred in the context of evacuation from Fukushima, which arguably could have been prevented by more active consultation and communication by the government with affected populations.

THEY LIED TO SAVE THEMSELVES MONEY, SAVE FACE, AND HOLD THE OLYMPICS IN TOKYO.

Japanese government held liable for first time for negligence in Fukushima

Is Fukushima doomed to become a dumping ground for toxic waste?

16 Mar 2018
Despite promises of revitalisation from Japan’s government, seven years on from the nuclear disaster the area is still struggling

In September 2015, Tokyo came under criticism for allowing people to return to a town which lies just 20km south of the crippled plant. That's while the cleanup is estimated to take about 40 years and the area has registered cases of flora and fauna mutations.

Foust recalls the rate of children living near Fukushima diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Over 130 children were diagnosed with the cancer in the area in August last year – a 25 percent spike from the same month in 2014. The average rate of thyroid cancer in children is estimated at 1-2 children per one million.

[MY NOTE: That number has increased "officially", to about 180, last stats I saw, but the government is no longer requiring testing, and let us not forget the doctors and hospital staff who came forward and said they were under strict orders to never say any illness, death, miscarriage, or birth defect is due to radiation.]

The events of March 2011 triggered massive protests in Japan against the use of nuclear energy.

Shaun Burnie, a nuclear specialist at Greenpeace Germany, said the raising of the issue in the UN process was important for evacuees as the recommendations could not simply be ignored. “The German government’s intervention on behalf of tens of thousands of Japanese citizens is absolutely welcome,” he said during a visit to Tokyo.

Burnie and others plan to closely monitor how the recommendations are implemented.

Fukushima causes mutations & DNA damage with ‘no end in sight’

Already, over 9 million cubic meters of nuclear waste are scattered over at least 113,000 locations across Fukushima prefecture.
The impact from the 2011 disaster are already becoming apparent. These are seen in the high radiation concentrations in new leaves, growth mutations of fir trees ... pale blue grass butterfly mutations, decreases in 57 bird species and high levels of cesium contamination in freshwater fish. There is contamination of coastal estuaries as well.
Two reports recently released in Japan, one by Japanese medical professionals and the second from Tokyo Power Corporation – TEPCO – acknowledged that there will be numerous cancers in Japan, much greater than normal, due to the radioactive discharges from the triple meltdown at Fukushima Daiichi.
"I believe, as do many of my colleagues, that there will be at least 100,000 and as many as one million more cancers in Japan's future as a result of this meltdown."

[T]he second report received from Japan proves that the incidence of thyroid cancer is approximately 230 times higher than normal in Fukushima Prefecture.

So what's the bottom line?
The cancers already occurring in Japan are just the tip of the iceberg. I'm sorry to say that the worst is yet to come."
These new reports defy the chronically underestimated impacts of the Fukushima triple meltdown on the risk of cancer in exposed populations, which does not just include Japan, but arguably the entire world.

According to the new report, data provided by a group of esteemed Japanese medical professionals and TEPCO, confirm a direct link of numerous cancers in Japan to the triple meltdown.

As we have reported previously, the present day radiation risk model is based on outdated science and a dataset extracted from Hiroshima atomic bomb survivors, and which was arrived at before the discovery of DNA, and knowledge of up to six orders of magnitude higher genotoxicity caused by what is known as photoelectron induction associated with low-dose radioisotope exposure, i.e. the incorporation into our tissue of extremely low doses of radionuclides such as plutonium-239, uranium-238, and over one hundred others produced as a byproduct of the nuclear reactions that produce nuclear power.

For those unafraid of confronting the truth, I highly recommend reading the 2001 paper published in the Journal of Inorganic Biochemistry titled, "Depleted uranium-catalyzed oxidative DNA damage: absence of significant alpha particle decay," produced by the Army's own Radiobiology Research Institute, in order to fully comprehend the implications of photoelectron induction.

In a nutshell, it implies that the adverse health effects associated with nuclear fallout may be tens of thousands times worse than present radiation risk models used by the nuclear industry, medical establishment, and government presently project.

BUY FUKUSHIMA GOODS! YOU MUST BUY!
ABE BULLIES THE WORLD MARKET.

At the same time, Japanese diplomats have been waging a long battle to persuade other countries to ease import restrictions on food from the surrounding areas.

The Japanese government has been seeking to promote the safety of food products from Fukushima and other nearby regions, as a handful of places (including China and Taiwan) still impose import restrictions.

The Japanese government emphasizes the integrity of its food screening measures.

WHAT INTEGRITY?

BOTH TEPCO AND THE ABE REGIME'S MINIONS HAVE BEEN BUSTED MORE TIMES THAN I CAN COUNT TRYING TO PASS OFF SHIELDED RADIATION READINGS, GOVERNMENT-CREATED MYTHS (e.g. THE INFAMOUS "SMILE AND THE RADIATION WON'T AFFECT YOU" LIE) WHILE SEVERAL JAPANESE 'REPORTING AGENCIES' HAVE HAD TO ADMIT THEY "MADE A MISTAKE ON RADIATION READINGS", ETC, FOR SEVEN YEARS NOW.

GREED, THE DESIRE FOR PROFIT AT ANY PRICE HAS NO INTEGRITY.

SINCE DAY 1, IT HAS BEEN DEMONSTRATED REPEATEDLY THAT JAPANESE POLITICIANS AND TEPCO PUT PROFITS AND INTERNATIONAL PUBLIC RELATIONS ABOVE HUMAN LIVES.

THEY SEEM MERELY TO VALUE MONEY OVER THEIR OWN PEOPLE.

ABE CHOSE TO LIE TO THE OLYMPIC COMMITTEE, AS FORMER PRIME MINSTERS ACCUSED HIM OF, JUST TO GAIN AN INTERNATIONAL SPOTLIGHT, INVITING THE WORLD TO TOKYO, TO FUKUSHIMA TO SEE THE GAMES, KNOWING MANY COULD GO HOME AND LATER EXPERIENCE THE REALITY OF BEING EXPOSED TO FUKUSHIMA/TOKYO RADIATION.

HE DIDN'T MENTION THAT THERE IS NO SAFE LEVEL OF RADIATION INSIDE A HUMAN BODY.

[There is no 'safe' exposure to radiation - The Salt Lake Tribune

Apr 10, 2011 - In the 1940s many of the world's premier nuclear scientists saw mounting evidence that there was no safe level of exposure to nuclear radiation. ... the Atomic Energy Commission or the Department of Energy, independently came to the conclusion that exposure to nuclear radiation was not safe at any level.]

HE MERELY WITHHELD FACTS, DID NOT TELL THE TRUTH AND WE MAY NEVER KNOW HOW MANY TRUSTING PEOPLE WILL SUFFER FOR IT, HOW MANY ATHLETES TRAINING THERE FOR MONTHS MAY NOT LIVE AS LONG AS THEY MIGHT HAVE, HAD ABE NOT INVITED THE WORLD TO TOKYO.

In a recent report to the International Atomic Energy Agency, the government said 25,864 food samples were taken and analyzed in January 2018, of which 19 samples or 0.07 percent were found to be above the limits for cesium-134 and cesium-137.

Yoshino, the reconstruction minister, said vegetables, tea, and livestock products had not exceeded the standard limits over the past five years.

LET'S CALL WHAT JAPAN'S ABE IS DOING BY ITS RIGHTFUL TERM...STRONG-ARMING, OR FORCING NATIONS TO BUY ITS RADIATION.

ABE'S STATEMENT ON FORCING NATIONS TO "BUY JAPAN" WAS LUDICROUS:

"Incidentally, it has been six years since the Great East Japan Earthquake. I strongly request that import controls on Japanese food to be lifted, based on scientific grounds," Abe said.

He added that Japan would start rice deliveries to Laos and Myanmar again through the APT Emergency Rice Reserve Agreement.

WOULD THE PEOPLE CHOOSE TO EAT FUKUSHIMA RICE?

DOES ABE EAT ANYTHING GROWN IN THOSE CONTAMINATED AREAS?

DO HIS CABINET MEMBERS?

DOES ANYONE WHO KNOWS THE DANGERS OF EATING RADIOACTIVE FOOD AND KNOWS THAT TEA AND OTHER FOOD PRODUCTS, FROM AS FAR AWAY AS 100 MILES, HAVE TESTED POSITIVE FOR TOO MUCH RADIATION TO BE CONSUMED WANT TO PUT THAT INSIDE THEIR BODIES?

WHO WOULD WILLINGLY, OF THEIR OWN FREE WILL, EAT THAT CRAP?

REMEMBER THE VIDEO OF THE YOUNG RICE FARMER WEEPING BECAUSE HE WAS SELLING RADIOACTIVE RICE THAT HE SAID HE WOULD NOT EAT?

REMEMBER THE LONG FIGHT OF JAPANESE FISHERMEN TO FORCE TEPCO TO SEEK INTERNATIONAL AID TO STOP THE RADIATION LEAKS INTO THE OCEAN BECAUSE THEY KNEW THE FISH WERE INEDIBLE?

ON FEBRUARY 28 THIS YEAR, REUTERS REPORTED:

The World Trade Organization largely upheld a Japanese complaint against South Korean import bans and additional testing requirements imposed on Japanese seafood because of the 2011 Fukushima nuclear disaster.

A WTO dispute panel said that South Korea’s measures were initially justified, but that keeping them in place violated the WTO’s sanitary and phyto-sanitary (SPS) agreement.

Japan, which has been in talks with other countries such as China and Taiwan that also have trade restrictions in place, plans to step up talks with them in light of the WTO ruling, a government official said.

South Korea widened its initial ban on Japanese fishery imports in 2013 to cover all seafood from eight Japanese prefectures including Fukushima.

Relations between Japan and South Korea, often testy, have soured in recent years.

IN JANUARY OF THIS YEAR...

Concerns linger about imports from nuclear radiation area.

The curbs on imports of Japanese food produced in areas hit by the country's nuclear crisis will not be easily relaxed or lifted, and Chinese consumers won't accept such imports given food safety concerns, experts said.

Chen Zilei, deputy director of the National Association for the Japanese Economy, told the Global Times on Wednesday that the beginning of such talks does not mean an easing or lifting of the ban is imminent.

"The beginning of negotiations might signal an improvement in bilateral relations, but we have our own supervision standards and requirements for imported goods, which will not be changed," Chen said.

Besides, Japan needs to publicize the accident-related information in a more open and transparent way in order to address the concerns, Chen said, adding that this would be a prerequisite for carrying out the negotiations.

"It is also Japan's obligation to the international community," he noted.

Many countries and regions, including China, the US, South Korea, Singapore and the EU, have curbed imports of food products from areas near the stricken Fukushima nuclear plant over fears of potential contamination, although some have recently eased their restrictions.

AS HAS THE U.S., GOING SO FAR, AT LEAST WHILE OBAMA WAS IN POWER, TO CONSIDER NO LABELING OF 'NATION OF ORIGIN'. AMERICANS, LIKE MUCH OF THE WORLD, WOULD THEN BE UNAWARE OF WHERE OUR FOOD COMES FROM, OR IF IT IS GMO OR NOT.
CONGRESS, WHORES THAT LOT IS, WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR "BUSINESS", AKA, THEIR WALL STREET MASTERS.

The EU has decided to ease import restrictions on Japan's farm and marine products, including rice, the Japan Times reported in November.

"Most consumers have a psychological barrier against accepting food from the nuclear radiation areas," Zhu said, noting that Japanese seafood has not been very popular in the Chinese market over the past two years, partly due to increasing competition from products from countries such as Denmark, Norway and Canada.

"Friends around me have declined to eat any Japanese seafood since the accident took place since you cannot tell whether it is from the radiation-stricken area or not," he said.

THE SAME GOES FOR THAILAND.

BUT LET'S NOT CALL THIS A "PSYCHOLOGICAL BARRIER".
LET'S CALL IT COMMON SENSE.

RADIATION IS STILL LEAKING AT ALL-TIME HIGH LEVELS FROM DAI'ICHI, RADIOACTIVE SOIL IS BEING STORED IN FLIMSY PLASTIC BAGS ALL OVER JAPAN, ABE'S REGIME IS ALLOWING THAT SOIL TO BE "RECYCLED", AND OPEN-AIR BURNING OF OTHER RADIOACTIVE WASTE IS, OR WAS, ALLOWED AT OVER 50 SITES, SOME NEAR TOKYO.

WHO WOULD BE SO DUMB AS TO IMAGINE ALL THAT FALLOUT DOESN'T FALL ON FARMLANDS ALL ACROSS JAPAN, AND, WITH THE RIGHT WINDS, AT LEAST THE COASTAL REGIONS OF ALL OF JAPAN'S NEAREST NEIGHBORS?
RADIATION MOVES CONSTANTLY AND BY MANY MEANS.

JAPAN HAS BEEN BUSTED EXPORTING RADIOACTIVE SCRAP METAL TO AT LEAST 3 NATIONS.
THE ABE REGIME AND TEPCO ARE DESPERATE TO BE RID OF AS MUCH CONTAMINATION AS POSSIBLE, ANY WAY THEY CAN DISPOSE OF IT.

IT SEEMS THAT THE CURRENT ADMINISTRATION DOES NOTHING BUT THUMB ITS NOSE AT INTERNATIONAL LAW, CONDUCTS ITSELF LIKE A 'ROGUE NATION',AND SIMPLY REFUSES TO ACT RESPONSIBLY.

Japan's whaling [AND IVORY TRADE] draws fire for possible violation of int'l treaty - Japan Today

Dec 3, 2017 - Japan was under fire for its "research" whaling in the Northwest Pacific as a possible violation of an international treaty on endangered species, while Tokyo's ivory trading practice was also questioned.

THEN AGAIN, SINCE BEFORE WORLD WAR II, JAPAN HAS BEEN AT ODDS WITH ITS NEIGHBORING COUNTRIES AND WITH THE CITIZENS WITHIN ITS OWN BORDERS.
MAYBE THE JAPANESE PEOPLE NEED A REVOLUTION TO SHAKE OFF THE CHAINS OF THAT OLD WARLIKE SAMURAI RULING CLASS?

Progeny of Japan's Warrior Elite Retain Edge Today (WALL STREET JOURNAL)

IT MAY BE TOO LATE FOR MOST JAPANESE PEOPLE TO ESCAPE "ABE'S MADHOUSE", BUT WE CAN HOPE THAT SANER MINDS THAN ABE'S EXIST IN THE LAND OF THE RISING SUN SO THAT DAIICHI DOESN'T CONTINUE TO DESTROY LIFE ELSEWHERE.
THOSE TOO TIMID TO DEMAND INTERNATIONAL INTERVENTION NOW, WHO ARE WILLING TO ACCEPT THEIR FATE, WHO ARE UNWILLING TO TAKE ACTION TO SAVE THE REST OF US, WILL PERHAPS SIMPLY GO THE WAY OF THE WIND AND THEN, TOO LATE, OTHERS WILL STEP UP AND SEND THAT FAILED NUCLEAR NIGHTMARE OFF THE FACE OF THE PLANET AND END JAPAN'S SILENT NUCLEAR WAR AGAINST THE WORLD.

IF ABE WAS INDEED ENRICHING URANIUM AT DAIICHI AS MANY HAVE SUGGESTED, HOPING TO RESTORE JAPAN'S MILITARY TO THE POINT OF HAVING NUCLEAR BOMB CAPABILITY, THEN WE CAN EXPECT HIM TO CONTINUE ON THAT PATH.

New evidence of Japan's effort to build atom bomb at the end of WWII

Japan's KNOWN Uranium Enrichment Program

U.S. to help in 'elimination' of sensitive Japanese nuclear stockpile
Mar 24, 2014 - Japan will turn over hundreds of kilograms (pounds) of sensitive nuclear material for potential use in bombs to the United States.

OH, BUT THERE'S A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN IRAN AND JAPAN, WHO BOTH GOT CAUGHT WITH ENRICHED URANIUM.
YEAH, SEE, IRAN NEVER BOMBED PEARL HARBOR.

JAEA operated a small uranium refining and conversion plant, as well as a small centrifuge enrichment demonstration plant, at Ningyo Toge, Okayama prefecture, but these facilities are now decommissioned. (JAEA is
Japan Atomic Energy Agency)

While most enrichment services are still imported, Japan Nuclear Fuel Ltd (JNFL) operates a commercial enrichment plant at Rokkasho – RE2A. This began operation in 1997 using indigenous technology and had seven cascades each of 150,000 SWU/yr, though only one had been operating. The plant is being equipped with a new centrifuge design, and 37,500 SWU/yr came fully on line in March 2012 after a 15-month break in operations. A further 37,500/yr SWU came online in May 2013, and in mid-2014, 1.05 million SWU was operational.

The design capacity of 1.5 million SWU/yr is expected to be reached about 2022. JNFL's main shareholders are the power utilities. In May 2017 the NRA approved its operation in line with 2013 standards.

A new enrichment plant using Russian centrifuge technology is planned under an agreement between Rosatom and Toshiba, the location not announced.

Japan has 6400 tonnes of uranium recovered from reprocessing (RepU) and stored in France and the UK, where the reprocessing was carried out. In 2007 it was agreed that Russia's Atomenergoprom would enrich this for the Japanese utilities who own it.

ABE DOESN'T NEED A BOMB NOW...HE HAS FUKUSHIMA'S DAIICHI NUKE PLANT, AND HE INTENDS TO KEEP USING IT AGAINST THE ENTIRE WORLD, OBVIOUSLY.

MAYBE ABE HAS A KAMIKAZE PILOT'S MINDSET?
OR MAYBE, AS I MENTIONED HERE BEFORE, IT'S JUST 'PAYBACK' FOR HIROSHIMA/NAGASAKI AND FOR HIS SAMURAI GRANDFATHER'S SHAMING AFTER THE WAR?

ICE WALL AND ROBOTS FAIL AT FUKUSHIMA

7 YEARS ONGOING AND STILL CONTAMINATING THE WORLD

AS YOU READ, KEEP IN MIND THE FOLLOWING FACT;
Radiation levels exceeding one Sievert are rare in everyday life, so much so that officials resort to millisieverts (mSv = 1/1000th) or microsieverts (uSv = one millionth of a Sievert) when measuring radiation.
Eight Sieverts is enough to produce vomiting, severe headaches, fever and a zero percent survival rate.

IF YOU SCAN AMERICA'S MAINSTREAM MEDIA TODAY, YOU WILL FIND LITTLE MENTION OF THE FAILURE OF THE MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR ICE WALL TEPCO SAID WOULD STOP 99% 0F THE RADIOACTIVE WATER FROM FLOWING BENEATH THE CRIPPLED REACTORS INTO THE PACIFIC OCEAN.
NOT ONLY DID IT FAIL, IT ALSO COULD HAVE MADE MATTERS WORSE.

AS REUTERS REPORTED (AND ONLY REUTERS, INITIALLY):
Tepco's 'ice wall' fails to freeze Fukushima's toxic water buildup - Reuters

I THOUGHT PERHAPS REUTERS WAS REPORTING OLD NEWS BECAUSE TWO YEARS AGO, THE SAME THING WAS IN A FEW MORE HEADLINES THAN WE FIND THIS TIME...FAILURE OF THE IDIOTIC ICE WALL.

Fukushima 'ice wall' fails to stop radioactive water | World | The Times, UK
July 22, 2016 - The makers of an underground "ice wall" meant to prevent groundwater seeping into the ruined Fukushima nuclear plant and becoming irradiated before it seeped out again have admitted that the system is failing.

THAT WAS ALSO REPORTED BY MEDIA IN JAPAN, AS IT WAS REVEALED:
Ice wall not working at Fukushima nuclear plant- Nikkei Asian Review

Oct 21, 2016 - TOKYO -- An underground ice wall built around the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant has so far been unable to block the flow of groundwater.

"COME, LET US REASON TOGETHER..."
IF TEPCO IS SEEN AS HAVING EXHAUSTED ALL EFFORTS TO STOP THE INCESSANT FLOW OF HIGHLY, UNDERLINE HIGHLY, RADIOACTIVE WATER INTO THE PACIFIC OCEAN, WON'T IT BE EASIER FOR THEM TO GET THE OKAY FROM THE "GLOBAL COMMUNITY" TO JUST LET THAT WATER FLOW ON, UNHAMPERED, TO POISON THE PACIFIC OCEAN FOREVER?

IF PEOPLE SEE STOPPING IT AS IMPOSSIBLE, THEY WON'T MIND AS MUCH WHEN TEPCO JUST DIGS A CHANNEL STRAIGHT INTO THE SEA AND DUMPS CONTINUOUSLY, 24 HOURS A DAY, 7 DAYS A WEEK, 365/366 DAYS A YEAR...FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS.
THINK OF THE MEGA-$$$$$ THAT WILL SAVE TEPCO AND THE ABE REGIME!

AND IF ROBOTS FAIL TO LOCATE THE CORIUM BENEATH THREE (3) REACTORS, WELL THEN, POOR TEPCO, IF THEY CAN'T FIND IT, THEY DON'T HAVE TO REMOVE IT, RIGHT?
IF THEY DON'T HAVE TO DIG OUT CORIUM FROM BENEATH 3 REACTORS, IMAGINE THE MEGA-BUCK$$$$ THEY WILL SAVE!

HOW DID ALL THAT RADIOACTIVE WATER BECOME SUCH A PROBLEM?
THE BAD PLANNING OF THOSE WHO BUILT THAT NIGHTMARE FACILITY.
THEY SCREWED UP BIG TIME.

The reactor complex was built adjacent to a mountain range, and millions of gallons of water emanate from the mountains daily beneath the reactor complex, causing some of the earth below the reactor buildings to partially liquefy. As the water flows beneath the damaged reactors, it immerses the three molten cores and becomes extremely radioactive as it continues its journey into the adjacent Pacific Ocean.

WHAT IS THE AVERAGE RAINFALL IN FUKUSHIMA PREFECTURE?
The average annual rainfall is 1258 mm, almost 50 inches per year, but more when there are more typhoons. Fukushima is never dry.

The nuclear facility also sits atop a major aquifer which flows toward Tokyo.

BUT IT ISN'T JUST THE AQUIFERS, IT'S ALSO THE RIVERS...
Radiation along Fukushima rivers up to 200 times higher than Pacific Ocean

The samples were measured at an independent laboratory in Tokyo.

“The extremely high levels of radioactivity we found along the river systems highlights the enormity and longevity of both the environmental contamination and the public health risks resulting from the Fukushima disaster,” said Ai Kashiwagi.

“These river samples were taken in areas where the Abe government is stating it is safe for people to live. But the results show there is no return to normal after this nuclear catastrophe,” he said.

Riverbank sediment samples taken along the Niida River in Minami Soma, measured as high as 29,800 Bq/kg for radiocaesium (Cs-134 and 137). The Niida samples were taken where there are no restrictions on people living, as were other river samples. At the estuary of the Abukuma River in Miyagi prefecture, which lies more than 90km north of the Fukushima Daiichi plant, levels measured in sediment samples were as high as 6,500 Bq/kg.

The Fukushima Daiichi site will continue to bleed radiation into the Pacific Ocean for 100 years. As contaminated water beneath the site slowly evolves into a radioactive lake. Most likely the cleanup of the entire site is at least a century away, if ever.

How has this calamity evolved into such a worldwide catastrophe?
It happened because the Japanese government chose to protect Tepco, its financial interest and the goals of the nuclear power industry."

AND OUR OWN GOVERNMENT PROTECTS JAPAN'S BIG NUKE BOYS, JUST AS IT PROTECTS THAT INDUSTRY AND ALL THE COVER-UPS RIGHT HERE IN AMERICA, INC.

FAIL, FAIL, FAIL....

Dying robots and failing hope: Fukushima clean-up falters six years after tsunami ...

Mar 8, 2017 - Fukushima clean-up falters six years after tsunami. Exploration work inside the nuclear plant's failed reactors has barely begun, with the scale of the task described as 'almost beyond comprehension'.

So much of what is communicated to the public and media is speculation and wishful thinking on the part of industry and government.

Even Shunichi Tanaka, the chairman of Japan’s nuclear regulation authority, does not appear to share Tepco’s optimism that it will stick to its decommissioning roadmap. “It is still early to talk in such an optimistic way,” he says. “At the moment, we are still feeling around in the dark.”

[ESTIMATES ARE THAT] 150 tons of groundwater seep into the reactor basements every day, said Yuichi Okamura, a Tepco spokesman.

IN A VIDEO OF THE ABOVE INTERVIEW, THE TEPCO 'OFFICIAL' CLEARLY STATES THAT THEY CAN'T BE SURE HOW MUCH WATER IS ACTUALLY FLOWING BENEATH THAT PLANT.
HE SAYS, "Please give us time to check that..."

GIVE THEM TIME?
THEY'VE HAD 7 LONG YEARS!

Governor Yuhei Sato visited the Nuclear Regulation Authority in Tokyo on Wednesday.

[NOTE: THIS WAS ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED IN A JAPANESE NEWSPAPER AT THE FOLLOWING LINK, BUT, OBVIOUSLY, THE ABE REGIME'S CRACKDOWN ON TRUTH ABOUT FUKUSHIMA HAD IT ERASED, WITH ONLY ERROR MESSAGES ON EVEN THE WAYBACK MACHINE'S ARCHIVES.
http://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/english/news/20130828_44.html] Sato told the authority's chairman Shunichi Tanaka that the situation can no longer be handled solely by the plant's operator, Tokyo Electric Power Company.

He asked the government to regard the problem as a national emergency and step up monitoring of the plant and guidance of the firm.

NOTHING INSIDE THE FUKUSHIMA DISASTER SITE IS "UNDER CONTROL", NOTHING.

Critics of the clean-up note that 2020 is the year Tokyo is due to host the Olympics, having been awarded the Games after Abe assured the International Olympic Committee that Fukushima was
“under control”.

Mitsuhiko Tanaka, a former Babcock-Hitachi nuclear engineer, accuses Abe and other government officials of playing down the severity of the decommissioning challenge in an attempt to win public support for the
restart of nuclear reactors across the country.

“Abe said Fukushima was under control when he went overseas to promote the Tokyo Olympics, but he never said anything like that in Japan,” says Tanaka. “Anyone here could see that the situation was not under control.

“If people of Abe’s stature repeat something often enough, it becomes accepted as the truth.”

QUITE OBVIOUSLY, ABE CHOSE TO LIE IN ORDER TO SECURE THE 2020 OLYMPICS.
HE CHOSE TO PUT THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF HUMAN LIVES AT STAKE WHEN THE WORLD GOES TO TOKYO IN 2020 RATHER THAN ADMIT THE PAST AND PRESENT FAILURES AND THE LACK OF TECHNOLOGY TO EVEN BEGIN A TRUE CLEANUP AT DAIICHI.

NO ONE CAN DECONTAMINATE TREES, ROCKS, SOIL, FLOWING WATER OR AIR, AND ALL THAT SIMPLY RECONTAMINATES LARGE AREAS OF JAPAN EVERY SINGLE DAY.
THERE REALY IS NO END IN SIGHT.

THE FOLLOWING PDF IS AN INTERESTING READ ON ABE'S INACTION.
HE WANTS THE ENTIRE WORLD TO PRETEND THE NUCLEAR DISASTER IS OVER AND "COME ON DOWN" TO TOKYO FOR THE OLYMPICS.
WHETER THEY RETURN HOMECONTAMINATED BY FUKUSHIMA RADIATION OR NOT DOESN'T SEEM TO MATTER TO HIM AT ALL.

ABE, THE GRANDSON OF A DISGRACED SAMURAI MAY SIMPLY WANT REVENGE FOR HIROSHIMA AND NAGASAKI ...AND HIS GRANDFATHER'S SHAME?

DESPITE SOME U.S. HEADLINES THAT TOUTED TEPCO LOCATING THE CORIUM BENEATH ONE REACTOR, EVEN TEPCO ADMITS THEY DON'T HAVE A CLUE WHERE THAT CORIUM WOUND UP.

IT HAS NOT BEEN LOCATED AND THEY DON'T HAVE THE MEANS TO FIND IT, THEY CLAIM.

LET'S READ THE HEADLINES AND ADD SOME EMPHASIS:

Jul 26, 2017 - Video: Tepco. A robot swimming in the depths of one of Fukushima's nuclear reactors MAY have spotted LUMPS OF molten nuclear fuel inside.
Japan Pictures LIKELY Show Melted Fukushima Fuel for First Time

BUT TEPCO ITSELF STATED THEY DID NOT LOCATE THE CORIUM IN THAT ONE SINGLE REACTOR...AND THERE ARE TWO OTHERS NEVER YET LOCATED.

ALL ROBOTS, INCLUDING THE LAST ONE, CALLED "SCORPION", FAILED TO TAKE SO MUCH AS ONE PHOTO OF ANY ACTUAL CORIUM, ONLY "ICICLES" OR "BLACK LUMPS" THAT MAY MARK WHERE THE CORIUM DESCENDED INTO THE EARTH BENEATH ONE REACTOR...ONE OF THREE...OR FOUR, DEPENDING ON HOW HONEST THE SOURCE IS.

COMPARE THOSE PHOTOS WITH THE
PHOTOS OF THE DISCOVERED CORIUM AT CHERNOBYL...SEE THE DIFFERENCE?

ABSOLUTE PROOF THAT FUKUSHIMA'S DISASTER OUTSTRIPS CHERNOBYL.

"In 1986 the radiation level on the ”Elephant’s Foot” at Chernobyl was measured at 10,000 roentgens per hour, and anyone who approached would have received a fatal dose in under a minute."

JUST LAST YEAR, TEPCO'S OWN ROBOT MEASURED ALMOST 650 Sv/h OF RADIATION INSIDE REACTOR 3, WHICH IS EQUAL TO 69,670 ROENTGENS PER HOUR.

1 R = 0.00933 Sv; 1 Sv = 107.185 R

THIS WOULD APPEAR TO MAKE THAT ONE REACTOR 7 TIMES MORE DEADLY THAN CHERNOBYL...AND THERE ARE TWO OTHER REACTORS WITH MELTED CORIUM.

AS TO A PREVIOUS MEASUREMENT OF 530 Sv/h:
"
The radiation measurement was 530 sieverts, or 53,000 rems (Roentgen Equivalent for Man).

The dose at which half an exposed population would die is 250 to 500 rems, so this is a massive measurement. It is quite likely had the robot been able to penetrate deeper into the inner cavern containing the molten corium, the measurement would have been much greater.

There’s another problem.
Because the molten cores are continuously generating hydrogen, which is explosive, TEPCO has been pumping nitrogen into the reactors to dilute the hydrogen dangers."

AMERICA'S OWN BROOKHAVEN LAB HAS DEMONSTRATED WHAT TEPCO SHOULD BE LOOKING FOR AND IT SURELY IS NOT ICICLES AND/OR LUMPS...IT'S THAT CLASSIC "ELEPHANT'S FOOT" PATTERN.

"ANOMALIES" HAVE ARISEN WITHOUT TEPCO IDENTIFYING THEIR CAUSE...
Newsweek, Oct 4, 2017
Radiation From Fukushima Nuclear Disaster Discovered in Sand and Groundwater 60 Miles Away… the beach groundwater is 10 times more radioactive than the ocean directly next to the Fukushima plant.

Vast areas of Japan are now contaminated, including some areas of Tokyo, which are so radioactive that roadside soil
measuring 7,000 becquerels (bc) per kilo would qualify it to be buried in a radioactive waste facility in the U.S. or other nuclear nations.
As previously explained, these radioactive elements concentrate in the food chain.
Whether that food comes from river, ocean or soil, each step up the food chain means added radiation, like when the plankton are radioactive, then the radioactive small fish consumes plankton, then a bigger radioactive fish consumes the small fish and all of these are consumed by human beings.

Or, compare it to radioactive soil growing radioactive food crops, consumed by radioactive grazing animals, which are then consumed by us.
We get many times the radiation in every bite than we would if JUST the big fish or the food animal alone was full of radiation.

INSIDE a living organism, radiation wreaks havoc, as we've known since at least 1942.
It produces a cascade effect, each "domino" causing the next one to fall.
That's just how it works.

Entering the body, these elements – called internal emitters – migrate to specific organs such as the thyroid, liver, bone, and brain, continuously irradiating small volumes of cells with high doses of alpha, beta and/or gamma radiation, and over many years often induce cancer".

CROPS GROWN HUNDREDS OF MILES FROM THE DAIICHI PLANT HAVE TESTED POSITIVE FOR VERY HIGH LEVELS OF RADIATION.

Radioactive cesium exceeding the legal limit was detected in tea made in a factory in Shizuoka City, more than 300 kilometers away from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. Shizuoka Prefecture is one of the most famous tea producing areas in Japan.

A tea distributor in Tokyo reported to the prefecture that it detected high levels of radioactivity in the tea shipped from the city. The prefecture ordered the factory to refrain from shipping out the product. After the accident at the Fukushima nuclear power plant, radioactive contamination of tea leaves and processed tea has been found over a wide area around Tokyo.

5 More Companies Detect Radiation In Their Tea Above Legal Limits Over 300 KM From Fukushima, June 15, 2011)

WHY WOULD JAPAN KNOWINGLY SELL RADIOACTIVE MATERIALS AND FOOD PRODUCTS TO OTHER NATIONS AND SPREAD THE RADIOACTIVITY WORLDWIDE IN NEW WAYS?
$$$$$, THAT'S WHY.
PROFITS.
GREED.
FUKUSHIMA: Radioactive Houses and Roads in Japan.

Russian officials confiscated irradiated Japanese automobiles and autoparts in the port of Vladivostok for sale in the Russian Federation. Needless to say, incidents of this nature in a global competitive environment, could lead to the demise of the Japanese automobile industry which is already in crisis.
Egypt authorities find another case of radiation in Japanese shipment.

Egypt’s General Authority for Export and Import Control recently discovered radioactive cargo in two containers shipped from Japan to Ain Sokhna port, the Red Sea Ports Authority said.

This is the third radioactive shipment Egypt has discovered over the past month.

DARE WE ASSUME EGYPT AND RUSSIA ARE THE ONLY TWO NATIONS IN WHICH JAPAN HAS TRIED TO DUMP ITS RADIOACTIVE MATERIALS?
NO.
SHOULD WE TRUST THAT OUR GOVERNMENT MONITORS SUCH THINGS EVEN AS WELL AS EGYPT DOES?
NO.

Nuclear Watch: Contaminated Water Leaks at Fukushima Daiichi
Aired on Aug. 19, 2013

"As TEPCO workers at Fukushima Daiichi battle to prevent contaminated water from spilling into the ocean, one expert warns that the levels of cesium detected in the water are not enough to explain the amount of radioactive isotopes found in the adjacent port facility."

Just this past October, the Japan Times reported that “Extremely high radiation levels and  the inability to grasp the details about melted nuclear fuel make it impossible for the utility to chart the course of its planned decommissioning of the reactors at the plant.”

In other words,
the Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO), the company in charge of the power plant, has no idea how to clean up, let alone contain, the disaster.

It’s not just that there is no end in sight; officials don’t even know what means are necessary to reach an end.
COVER-UP DEATHS BY CANCER...NOT A PROBLEM.
The Prefectural Oversight Committee for Fukushima Health is only looking at thyroid cancer among the population and by June 2016, 172 people who were under the age of 18 at the time of the accident have developed, or have suspected, thyroid cancer; the normal incidence in this population is 1 to 2 per million.

However, other cancers and leukemia that are caused by radiation are NOT being routinely documented, nor are congenital malformations, which were, and are, still rife among the exposed Chernobyl population.

THE FUKUSHIMA CRISIS IS OVER?
NOT IN A MILLION YEARS!

DIRTY COPS IN THE FBI: MUELLER, COMEY, WEISSMAN

WHO WOULD KNOWINGLY APPOINT DIRTY COPS TO CONDUCT AN INVESTIGATION OF A SITTING PRESIDENT, AND WHO IN CONGRESS WOULD TRUST THE OUTCOME?
MAYBE THOSE WHO ARE JUST AS DIRTY AS THE COPS?

I was fortunate recently to stumble upon one of the best-documented articles I have read in my 16 years of research into the shadowy workings of our "intelligence" agencies.
9/11 angered me and I began to dig and haven't stopped yet.

I obtained the gracious permission of the author, Mr. Jeffrey Marty, who writes "Dispatches from the 15th District", and which article can be found at https://fighting15th.com/2017/08/03/robert-mueller-dirty-cop/, to reproduce it in toto here at the Tea Room.
I have much to add, but, for now, please read his findings and THINK.
We can still THINK, and we must.
Knowledge is power, it erases fear and leads us to question more and more until we learn to QUESTION EVERYTHING.

[NOTE: The Tea Room was unable to embed two videos and I omit one photo from the article below. I placed another two photos out of context, at the top of this page.
Please visit Mr. Marty's website to view those omissions.
Mr. Marty doesn't use all-caps, bold type or highlighted text as I do to irritate my readers. You'll like that, yes, people of earth?]

Robert Mueller: Dirty Cop
Published August 3, 2017
A former colleague recently characterized Robert Mueller as “ramrod straight” and “utterly incorruptible.” Similar language was breathlessly repeated in mainstream media biographies on Mueller in Politico, BBC, and Time magazine. Mueller’s Vietnam-era service in the United States Marine Corps and 2004 tag-team with then-Deputy Attorney General James Comey to save American democracy from warrantless spying are mainstays of these biographies, which always send a clear message that his integrity is beyond reproach.

It’s always suspicious when anyone’s credibility is oversold like this, but that goes double when the same person was FBI director for 12 years—spanning across both the Bush and Obama administrations from 2001 to 2013—yet most people can’t remember anything about him. We should remember actions he took to impartially uphold the law. Sadly, that is not the case.

What stands out most during then-FBI Director Mueller’s term in office is the two-tiered system of justice, when obvious crimes and scandals involving government officials and private-sector elites were ignored or even covered up by the FBI. What Mueller failed to do to protect our country says more than anything he did.

Recent leaks suggest that Special Counsel Mueller is examining one of the President’s 2008 Palm Beach real estate deals, as well as the 2013 Miss Universe competition held in Moscow. During the very same time period as those events, FBI Director Mueller repeatedly failed to act in cases involving government corruption and dangerous crimes. His level of aggressiveness in investigating our President is the exact inverse of how he acted when he was tasked with protecting America.

Major Scandals During Mueller’s FBI Years:
As the nation’s top cop, then-FBI Director Mueller had massive resources to investigate crimes, as well as the ability to arrest suspects and recommend prosecution of the offenders. The following is an abbreviated list of major scandals and likely crimes that Mueller did not meaningfully investigate as FBI Director—no arrests, no consequences:

Falsification of Iraq War intelligence (2003): information providing the sole justification for a war that caused the death and dismemberment of thousands of American soldiers was later found to be fabricated, false, or overstated at the time it was presented to the public. Mueller not only failed to investigate and arrest any of the perpetrators of this deception—he actively participated in the plot:

Vanishing Currency (2003): the US government sent $12 billion in $100 bills to the Iraq War combat theater, which mostly went unaccounted for after it entered the country.

NSA Warrantless Surveillance (2001-2013): illegal collection of domestic phone records and internet communications that were sent or received by US citizens, in violation of Fourth Amendment protections against warrantless search and seizure, followed by potential perjury committed by Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, who denied the practices under oath; the 2013 Snowden revelations proved that the 2004 story about Comey and Mueller stopping illegal surveillance practices was nearly meaningless in practice.

Emailgate (2007): discovery that several top Bush administration officials violated the Presidential Records Act by using an RNC server for email communications while conducting official business, followed by the deletion of millions of the same emails.

Walter Reed Neglect Scandal (2007): troops recovering from severe war-related injuries were subjected to squalid living conditions and grotesquely substandard care due to a privatization agreement that resulted in drastic staffing cuts, after which patients were told to “keep quiet” and whistleblowers suffered retaliation from higher-ups.

IRS Targeting (2010-2013): the IRS intentionally selected and then delayed or denied tax-exempt 501(c)(3) applications from conservative groups to prevent them from participating in the 2012 election, followed by IRS agent Lois Lerner invoking her Fifth Amendment privilege against self-incrimination.

Fast and Furious (2010): this ATF program, which seems to have served no rational purpose, allowed over 2,000 guns to be purchased illegally inside the United States and then “walked” into Mexico for use by criminals, one of which was later used in the 2010 murder of Border Agent Brian Terry by the member of a Mexican cartel.

Associated Press Spying (2012): the Department of Justice illegally seized the communications of AP reporters made during April and May 2012, allowing the DOJ to unmask journalists’ confidential sources.

Clinton Foundation Pay-for-Play (2009-2013): during the period in which Hillary Clinton held the office of Secretary of State, the Clinton Foundation and Bill Clinton received millions of dollars in paid speaking fees and a million dollar “gift” from countries involved in matters with the State Department, many of which had ties to terrorism and human rights abuses; some of these funds were apparently diverted from charitable causes to personal expenses, such as Chelsea Clinton’s 2010 wedding.

Russian Uranium Deal (2009-2013): Hillary Clinton’s State Department approved a deal allowing a Russian company to control 20% of the uranium mining production capacity inside the United States, which was followed by millions of dollars in donations to the Clinton Foundation from people associated with the transaction.

Clinton Private Email Server (2009-2013): during her entire tenure as Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton dodged Freedom of Information Act requirements by using a private email server to conduct official government business, as well as sent and received classified information that was Top Secret over an unsecured system—an “extremely reckless” (and obviously illegal) act.

HSBC Bank Money Laundering Scandal:
Although it received little coverage in the mainstream media, the HSBC money laundering case reveals the complete and total corruption of federal law enforcement toward the end of Mueller’s term as FBI Director. No case demonstrates how the swamp works better than this one.

For nearly the entire duration of Mueller’s term, UK-based HSBC, an international bank with divisions and depositors worldwide, was doing billions of dollars in business with drug cartels, rouge nations, and even banks associated with terrorism, taking massive deposits made in foreign nations and funneling them into its US banks.
The overall amounts were staggering, totaling hundreds of billions of dollars, which likely gave HSBC a comparative advantage over its rivals and greater market share, while providing international criminals with the ability to “launder” money into the US banking system with little-to-no oversight.

In 2012, a whistleblower, who collected information and recorded conversations with HSBC employees, provided strong proof to the public that the bank was operating as a “criminal enterprise.”

Mexican Drug Cartels: From 2002 to at least 2009 (and possibly much longer), HSBC bank laundered billions of US dollars for Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman’s murderous Sinaloa Cartel and similar groups. In 2009, Forbes placed El Chapo at #41 on its “World’s Most Powerful People” list.

The same year, many experts agreed that Mexico’s drug war had rendered it a “failed state.”

By 2012, the Sinaloa cartel alone was estimated to have annual revenues of $3 billion, which were comparable to Facebook or Netflix. By April 2013, toward the end of Mueller’s term, the Sinaloa and other Mexican cartels had become the number one importer and distributor of narcotics inside the United States (with many of the cartel’s top agents living inside the United States), El Chapo had become “public enemy no. 1,” and 70,000 murders and nearly 27,000 disappearances were attributable to the drug war inside Mexico.

Ignoring the obvious, HSBC inexplicably designated Mexico a “low risk” country for money laundering, allowing shady depositors and known drug kingpins to deposit billions of US dollars—in cash—into bank accounts in HSBC Mexico, followed by the same money becoming accessible at HSBC in the US. With legitimate-looking banking, the Mexican drug cartels were given huge expansion potential inside the US that would otherwise have been easily detected if the cartels tried to purchase properties, vehicles, and shell businesses here using cash.

Much of the cash crossing the US-Mexico border (estimated at $25 billion per year in 2010) found a ready home in HSBC branches south of the Rio Grande. HSBC Mexico made billions of dollars in suspicious transactions, such as customers depositing hundreds of thousands of US dollars into a single bank account in a single day, during which the cash was put through teller windows in boxes that were designed to fit through the window openings.
Because there was virtually no investigation into these transactions or even the identities of depositors, who included high-profile drug dealers, accounts were rarely closed due to the suspicious activity. After all, Mexico was a “low risk” country for money laundering at the time.

Terrorists and Rogue Nations: The bank’s practices also allowed terrorist groups and rogue nations to have access to our financial markets in a similar manner, facilitating financing of their activities inside this country, as well as providing greater international investment possibilities for sanctioned regimes—including $19 billion deposited from Iran into HSBC’s foreign affiliate banks. There were also lax rules for setting up relationships with affiliate banks in other countries, which included a Saudi Arabian bank with ties to funding terrorism.

Policies Prevented Catching Crooks: Even in the rare instance where money laundering controls were in place, inadequate follow-up measures undermined any intervention. The US division of HSBC allowed thousands of suspicious accounts to remain open after they were flagged for closure. “Know your customer” practices were virtually nonexistent, which allowed bad actors to get around things like Iranian sanctions and Patriot Act protections, which in turn was aggravated by bank employees doing things like deleting information about the country of origin on deposits from places like Iran. Large-scale warnings, such as the migration of billions of US dollars in cash deposits into HSBC Mexico, went unnoticed because the bank apparently had no system in place to monitor such activity. To say all of this was “extremely reckless” would be an understatement—it’s inconceivable that the bank’s employees and executives didn’t know what was happening at the time.

“Ramrod” Mueller to the Rescue: What did Mueller do to aggressively investigate and shut down this massive “foreign influence” involving our country’s drug epidemic and threat of terrorism? Basically nothing. No bank executives or employees were arrested or jailed. People have spent more time in jail for smoking a joint than any HSBC executive or employee did for facilitating drug cartel business and terrorist financing.

On October 17, 2010, the Treasury Department issued “cease and desist” letter to HSBC for violations of the Bank Secrecy Act. This was followed by a Senate subcommittee investigation, which provided a comprehensive report and took hearing testimony on July 17, 2012. In what appeared to be prepared remarks, one bank compliance executive resigned at the hearing, while another executive indicated HSBC “did our best” in Mexico.

With nearly all of the investigation already completed by the Senate and already in the public eye, the Department of Justice was finally forced to file a four-count felony indictment against defendant HSBC on December 11, 2012, which included three felony counts relating to grossly inadequate anti-money laundering practices and one count for violation of the Trading With The Enemy Act.

On the same day, and over the objections of career DOJ prosecutors, then-AG Holder allowed HSBC to enter into a deferred prosecution agreement, under which the charges would be dropped if the bank stayed out of trouble for 5 years and paid a “record fine” consisting of $1.256 billion in forfeited assets and an additional $665 million in civil penalties. Added together, the punishment totaled approximately 9% of one year’s profits for HSBC’s worldwide operations, which amounted to a whopping $21.9 billion in 2011 alone.

Also the same day, then-US Attorney Loretta Lynch led a press conference alleging that (1) an alphabet soup of federal agencies had conducted a serious investigation and (2) the “record fine” was somehow adequate punishment.
Notably, “ramrod straight” Mueller and Holder were not present, despite the obvious national importance of the case. The DOJ’s press release (echoed by the FBI, which simply re-posted DOJ’s release) bragged about the “heavy price” of the fine being imposed.

Despite the “heavy price” paid for its rampant criminal behavior, HSBC was somehow able to sponsor the star-studded 2014 Clinton Global Initiative. (Perhaps not coincidentally, the Clinton Foundation also received up to $81,000,000 in donations from HSBC’s illustrious group of account holders.)
But not everyone bought into Lynch’s sales pitch. Even CBS News seemed suspicious of the deal, which was obviously disproportionate to the criminal conduct involved:

While a US citizen sending money to terrorists can result in a 20-year prison sentence, and many US citizens have been sentenced to decades in prison for even marijuana-related crimes, the bank’s executives and employees never spent one day in jail for their roles in assisting terrorist-connected nations and Mexican drug cartels to do business in the United States—an example of the “two systems” of justice than many Americans believe exist between the elites and regular citizens.
If the FBI uses search warrants, recorded transactions, confidential informants, wiretaps, GPS tracking, and conducts a broad sweep of witness interviews in cases involving drug trafficking and terrorism in other cases, why wouldn’t Mueller have done the same to build a case here? Mueller’s absence in the HSBC case says as much about the cover-up as when Holder refused to prosecute over the objections of career prosecutors.

James Comey Joins HSBC’s Board of Directors: Less than two months after the 2012 deferred prosecution agreement, HSBC appointed James Comey to its Board of Directors as head of the Financial System Vulnerabilities Committee.

When he joined HSBC, Comey left a job working as general counsel for Bridgewater Associates hedge fund, where he earned over $6.6 million per year, for a position at a disgraced criminal bank—one recently charged with laundering El Chapo’s money—that paid under $200,000 per year (approximately three percent of his salary at Bridgewater). It’s hard to say why anyone would take that job, and that pay cut, unless there was some additional incentive.
While Comey may have provided HSBC with a Norman Rockwell-type face for its money laundering reform program, it doesn’t appear that Comey actually reformed any of the bank’s practices. During the time Comey was on the Board, HSBC was involved in laundering hundreds of millions of dollars from Russia into the British banking system—a scheme with direct ties to the Kremlin and Vladimir Putin. Apparently Comey missed this activity while he led the search for “vulnerabilities” in HSBC’s “financial system.”
Comey left HSBC in July 2013 to become FBI Director when Mueller stepped down.

Mueller Became Partner At The Law Firm That Represented HSBC: In its 2012 Year In Review, law firm Wilmer Hale indicated the following: “our regulatory, transactional, securities and investigations experience converged in our representation of HSBC in connection with Department of Justice and Senate inquiries.”
Less than one year after leaving the FBI, the “utterly incorruptible” Mueller took a lucrative position as a partner at the same law firm that represented HSBC in 2012, working in the “government investigations practice” section of the firm. Although it’s unknown whether Mueller ever handled HSBC’s matters personally, Wilmer Hale still includes HSBC in its list of “representative clients.” In 2016 alone, profits per partner at Wilmer Hale were $1.81 million.
In May 2017, Mueller left the firm to become Special Counsel for the Russia investigation.

Subsequent Inaction: In 2014, President Obama appointed Loretta Lynch to replace Holder as Attorney General.
Despite criticism of her role in the HSBC case, the Senate voted to confirm Lynch to the post in 2015.
A few weeks before she was sworn in, her own office suggested that HSBC had not complied with the 2012 deferred prosecution agreement
What did AG Lynch do to hold HSBC “accountable” once she took over? Nothing. By 2016, even Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) was critical of Lynch’s inaction against HSBC—it was that bad.

Russia, Russia, Russia:
If Mueller failed to do anything to stop these obviously corrupt and criminal practices during his own 12-year term as FBI Director, it’s hard to believe that he will conduct a fair and impartial investigation into the politically-charged assumption of “Russian interference” in the 2016 presidential election.
Mueller isn’t the one to investigate the swamp—Mueller is the swamp. He is a dirty cop who never should have been appointed Special Counsel, and he should be fired immediately.

AND BRAVO! WELL DONE, SIR, VERY WELL DONE.
