NOW, MAYBE, THE WORLD WILL LISTEN TO THOSE WHO ARE SAYING IT'S NEVER GOING TO BE REPAIRED?
Mitsuhei Murata, former Japanese Ambassador to Switzerland:
IN A VIDEO INTERVIEW:
“It’s common knowledge Fukushima is not at all under control.”
“The most important thing is to let the world know the situation in Fukushima is serious.
In order to obtain this result, the honorable retreat from Tokyo Olympics is urgently needed — and most effective.
I think the whole world needs this because, as you know, it is an unstoppable accident.
Daily, huge amounts of radiation is coming from the Fukushima site — the Pacific Ocean — there is no prospect for solution.
So the situation of the Pacific Ocean is very serious.
That is why I’m asking for an honorable retreat, to cope with the shameful criticism that Japan is now harming the global environment.”
THE SHAME IS THAT IT IS TRUE, THAT JAPAN'S GOVERNMENT, IN COLLUSION WITH TEPCO AND THE GLOBAL NUCLEAR INDUSTRY, HAS DECIDED TO CONTAMINATE THE ENTIRE WORLD...AND THEY HAVE NO REMORSE FOR DOING SO.
THE SHAME IS , THOSE RESPONSIBLE FEEL NO SHAME.
SHAMEFULLY, THEY CAN WATCH THEIR OWN CITIZENS AND THE REST OF US DIE AND NOT BE ASHAMED.
MONEY, PROFITS, THE OLYMPIC GAMES ALL TRUMP PRICELESS HUMAN AND ANIMAL LIVES, TRUMP THE ENTIRE ENVIRONMENT OF PLANET EARTH.
AS 'COUNTERPUNCH' REPORTED TODAY (29 DECEMBER 2015)
“It is not earthquakes or tsunami that are to blame for the disaster at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power station, but humans.
The report produced by the Japanese parliamentary committee investigating the disaster leaves no doubt about this.
The disaster could have been foreseen and prevented.
As in the Chernobyl case, it was a human, not technology, that was mainly responsible for the disaster,” Photographer and Filmmaker Arkadiusz Podniesinski Visits Fukushima, Axis of Logic, Dec. 27, 2015.
AN IMPORTANT TRUTH IS FINALLY SPOTLIGHTED!
Radiation is accumulative.
As a general rule, a person can only survive for one hour with exposure of 1 Sv/hour or 1,000 mSv/hour. The recommended lifetime human dosage of radiation should be less than 500 mSv. A chest x-ray produces 0.10 mSv.
The standard limit for nuclear workers worldwide is 20 mSv/year
(Source: Radiation Survival Cheat Sheet).
However, Fukushima, because of the emergency, allows workers to receive up to 100-mSv exposure before they must leave the site.
Within Fukushima, Orange Zones are designated as less contaminated but still uninhabitable because radiation levels run 20-50 mSv/y, but decontamination work is underway.
Residents are allowed to visit homes for short duration only during the daytime. However, as it happens, very few people are seen.
Most of the former residents do not want to go back and the wooden houses in many of the towns and villages are severely dilapidated.
The lowest radiation areas are designated the Green Zone (< 20 mSv/y), where decontamination work is complete and evacuation orders are to be lifted.
LEAKING BAGS OF RADIATION AS FAR AS THE EYE CAN SEE
Enormous black sealed bags filled with radioactive soil and all kinds of sizzling waste are stacked across the countryside, as approximately 20,000 workers thoroughly cleanse soil, rooftops, streets, and gutters. House-by-house, workers scrub rooftops and walls by hand.
[AND EVERY DAY, ALL DAY, NEW RADIOACTIVE FALLOUT SETTLES BACK ON THE LAND. NO ONE TALKS ABOUT THAT! IT ISN'T JUST FROM DAIICHI, BUT FROM HOW MANY SITES THAT ARE BURNING RADIOACTIVE DEBRIS WE ARE NOT TOLD. TEPCO WAS BUSTED BURNING DEBRIS ON AN OLD BARGE OUT IN THE HARBOR AT NIGHT NOT THAT LONG AGO!]
The radioactive-contained black bags are trucked outside of towns to the far outskirts where thousands upon thousands upon thousands of big black bags are stacked.
An aerial view of these temporary storage sites appears like gigantic quilts of rectangular shapes neatly, geometrically spread across the landscape for as far as the eye can see. The government claims the radioactive-contained black bags will be gone from the countryside within 30 years, but where to?
RECONTAMINATION FROM UNCLEANED AREAS
The primary areas of decontamination surround homes, farmland, and 10-metre strips along roads. As such, forests, mountains and other terrain are left untouched, which may, in turn, eventually wash radioactive isotopes back onto the decontaminated areas because of heavy rainfall or forest fires carrying radioactive isotopes.
According to Podniesinski, that happened twice in Chernobyl within the past year alone.
The herculean cleanup of Fukushima Prefecture involves 105 cities, towns, and villages.
Unlike Chernobyl where authorities declared a 1,000 square mile no-habitation zone and resettlement of 350,000 people, thus allowing radiation to dissipate over decades-to-centuries, Japan is attempting to remake Fukushima back into its old self.
But, radioactive material collected in millions of black bags is a vexing problem for the ages.
Japanese authorities have commissioned construction of a massive landfill just outside of the Fukushima Daiichi Power Plant, expected to contain 16-to-22 million bags of debris, enough to fill 15 baseball stadiums.
Unfortunately, bags filled with radioactivity are more than a mere headache; they are more like a severe migraine.
A truck can carry 6-8 of the huge bags at a time, and with so many, it could take decades to move the material.
Adding to the lingering problem of transporting and storing radioactive waste, over time, the bags will likely deteriorate and need to be replaced with fresh bags. It is an endless cycle.
[NO, THE BAGS WILL SIMPLY BE ALLOWED TO DETERIORATE AND RADIATION WILL LEAK AFRESH, AS THE ABE ADMINISTRATION MUST INSTEAD HOLD AN OLYMPICS AND RESTORE JAPANESE MILITARY MIGHT AS THE TEA ROOM PREVIOUSLY REPORTED.]
WHAT ABOUT THE CHILDREN, NOW AND FUTURE GENERATIONS?
As for a lifetime of radiation misery, one only need visit one of a couple hundred homes for Chernobyl children hidden in the back woods of Belarus.
They all have physical if not mental defects or both. Because of one nuclear accident, 6,000 children are born every year in Ukraine with genetic heart defects; the country experiences a 250% increase in congenital birth deformities; 85% of Belarusian children carry “genetic markers” that could affect health at any time; UNICEF found children’s disease rates off the map, for example, a 63% increase in disorders of the bone, muscle and connective tissue; more than one million children still live in contaminated zones.
Belarusian doctors have seen a dramatic increase in cancers, including a 200% increase in breast cancer, a 100% increase in leukemia, and a 2,400% increase in incidence of thyroid cancer.

Plant Chief: “No idea” how to decommission reactors… “the technology does not exist”;
“No viable method” to deal with melted fuel; “So many uncertainties… we don’t have accurate information” —
Engineers declared problems ‘insurmountable’
REPORTED FROM JAPAN ON 26 DECEMBER 2015
ASAHI SHIMBUN NEWS
MORE MISTAKES AT DAIICHI PLANT, MORE HEADACHES, MORE RADIOACTIVE CONTAMINATION FOR EVERYONE.
To control groundwater levels, TEPCO planned to release the less contaminated groundwater from the five wells into sea after a purification process.
[RUSSIAN SCIENTISTS AS WELL AS OTHERS ALREADY POINTED OUT THAT JAPAN DOES NOT HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY TO "PURIFY" ANYTHING COMING OUT OF THAT PLANT! THEY WERE OFFERED BETTER TECHNOLOGY AND DID NOT TAKE IT.]
However, the water from four of the wells was discovered to have high levels of tritium--a radioactive substance that is hard to remove--at levels higher than 1,500 becquerels per liter, which means the water cannot be released into sea.
To compound the problem, the seaside walls have also significantly raised groundwater levels, forcing the utility to pump a lot more groundwater than it originally planned.
TEPCO has been forced to temporarily transfer large amounts of the groundwater into highly contaminated reactor buildings, where it could become contaminated to an even further degree by being exposed to melted nuclear fuel.
The utility said it suspects the high levels of radiation found in the groundwater from the wells is due to the water being exposed to highly contaminated soil near the plant’s coastal embankment.
Company officials admitted they are not sure when it can turn things around and reduce the amount of contaminated water at the Fukushima plant."
[NEVER...THEY CAN NEVER DO IT, BUT WON'T STAND ASIDE AND LET OTHERS TRY, MURDEROUS BASTARDS THAT THEY ARE.]
ASAHI SHIMBUN NEWS
December 22, 2015
More than 90 percent of the fir trees in forests close to the site of Japan's 2011 nuclear disaster are showing signs of abnormality, and plant lice specimens collected in a town more than 30 kilometers from the crippled facility are missing legs or crooked.
Scientists are seeking answers to how radioactive cesium spread in forests and the soil after the accident, along with signs of mutation in plants and animals in areas close to the stricken nuclear plant.
Understanding how cesium and other radioactive particles spread after the disaster is key to putting the consequences of the nation’s worst nuclear accident into perspective.
As forests were excluded from decontamination work, an undetermined amount of cesium is bound to remain in forests and lie buried in the ground for many years to come.
Mountainous forests cover 70 percent of the Fukushima Prefecture’s land space.
Cesium in the soil registered between 300,000 and 400,000 becquerels of radioactivity per square meter.
Scientists have reported on mutations and abnormalities among species varying from fir trees and plant lice to Japanese monkeys, carp and frogs.
[WHILE DOCTORS ARE FORBIDDEN FROM REPORTING MUTATED FETUSES, BIRTH DEFECTS, DEFORMED BABIES, THYROID CANCERS IN CHILDREN, DEATHS FROM RADIATION SICKNESS.]
The National Institute of Radiological Sciences (NIRS), a government-affiliated entity, said in late August that the trunks of fir trees are not growing vertically.
“We need to continue to monitor the environment for at least five or six more years,” Fukumoto said. “And at the same time, we should start analyzing the reported phenomena.”
LUDICROUS, SIMPLY LUDICROUS!
FROM 2013:
"After a 29-month cover-up, the Tokyo Electric Power Co (Tepco) is now calling for international help [WHICH IT THEN TOTALLY REJECTED!] and has all but admitted Fukushima’s radiation leaks are spiraling out of control. In addition to the leaking water storage units that are unleashing hundreds of tons of radioactive water each day, Tepco now says 50% of its contaminated water filtration capability has been taken offline due to corrosion.
The result is that radiation leaks are escalating out of control and attempted remediation efforts are faltering.
This is in addition to the fact the Japanese government’s attempted brainwashing propaganda campaign has also been exposed.
It attempted to convince people that if they drank beer or smiled, they would be immune to radiation poisoning. (Yes, this is how desperate they’ve become…)
From day one, the Fukushima fiasco has been all about denial:
Deny the leaks, shut off the radiation sensors, black out the news and fudge the science.
Yet more than two years later, the denials are colliding with the laws of physics, and Tepco’s cover stories are increasingly being blown wide open.
As Businessweek.com now reports, Japan seems to have no practical interest in solving this problem:
Russia’s nuclear company, Rosatom, of which Rosenergoatom is a unit, sent Japan a 5 kilogram (11 pound) sample of an absorbent that could be used at Fukushima almost three years ago, Asmolov said.
It also formed working groups ready to help Japan on health effect assessment, decontamination, and fuel management, among others, Asmolov said.
The assistance was never used, he said.
That’s because for Tepco to welcome any assistance, it would first have to admit it has a problem.
And that’s unacceptable in a business culture where egos run rampant and the idea of taking responsibility for your actions is considered abhorrent.
To save their own careers, Tepco experts would gladly sacrifice the health of millions of Japanese citizens.
TEPCO, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE JAPANESE GOVERNMENT WHICH OWNS HALF THE FACILITY, ANSWERS TO NO ONE.
Tepco “…does not directly answer to any regulatory bodies, including the country’s nuclear watchdog,” reports CTV.
Trade Minister Toshimitsu Motegi told the international press, “We’ve allowed Tokyo Electric to deal with the contaminated water situation on its own and they’ve essentially turned it into a game of ‘Whack-a-Mole,'” reports Business Week.
When industry reaches a point of total bureaucratic failure resulting in a global disaster that threatens all life on the planet, everybody knows the obvious solution is to put the government in charge!
The government, you see, can simply pass a new law that says radiation is no longer considered dangerous.
In an instant, the entire problem is solved and Japan saves hundreds of billions of dollars in cleanup costs.
THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT HAS HAPPENED, IS HAPPENING, BOTH HERE IN THE U.S. AND IN JAPAN.
"ACCEPTABLE RADIATION LEVELS", AS ANYONE CAN FIND, HAVE NOW BEEN RAISED TO AN ALARMING LEVEL THAT MOST SERIOUSLY ENDANGERS
PREGNANT WOMEN, THEIR UNBORN BABIES, AND YOUNG CHILDREN, AS WELL AS THE ELDERLY AND INFIRM.
Tokyo Electric (TEPCO) says water’s getting over and around “chemical walls.” It can’t be stopped.
Three Fukushima reactors suffered meltdowns. A fourth was badly damaged.
The worst fear remains.
Unit Four’s structural integrity was seriously undermined. It contains hundreds of tons of highly radioactive water.
If an earthquake or other natural disaster occurs, its fuel rods almost certainly will catch fire. Radioactive emissions will follow. They’ll compound what’s already disastrous.
Emissions will continue long term.
They’ll circle the planet. They cause catastrophic harm.
Cleanup IN 2013 was estimated to cost around half a trillion dollars...now the cost cannot be calculated.
THE ABE ADMINISTRATION, INSTEAD OF SPENDING MONEY TO STOP THIS MONSTER, ELECTED TO SPEND BILLIONS ON READYING JAPAN FOR THE OLYMPICS IN 2020.
IF THAT DOESN'T SHOW THE JAPANESE PEOPLE HOW EXPENDABLE THEY ARE, NOTHING WILL.
In early July, 2013, Fukushima’s former chief operator, Masao Yoshida, died of esophogeal cancer.
He was 58. Tepco lied saying his death was unrelated to radiation exposure.
According to Institute for Energy and Environmental Research (IEER) president Arjun Makhijani:
“Fukushima continues to be an emergency without end – vast amounts of radioactivity, including strontium-90 in the groundwater, evidence of leaks into the sea, contaminated seafood.”
“Strontium-90, being a calcium analog, bioaccumulates in the food chain. It is likely to be a seaside nightmare for decades.”
STRONTIUM is much more dangerous than cesium 137 and 134.
It’s at levels 30 times higher.
“So to give you an idea of the level of contamination, if somebody drank that water for a year, they would almost certainly get cancer.”
"Some of it goes into the sediment, and some of it is taken up by the life in the sea.”
“And the unfortunate thing about strontium especially is that it bioaccumulates in algae. It bioaccumulates in fish.”
If pregnant women ingest contaminated water, fish or other food, “the outcomes could be worse than cancer because then you’re talking about a much more compromised child in the sense of having a compromised immune system – it makes you more vulnerable to all kinds of diseases.”
Makhijani doesn’t know how Tepco can handle the problem.
It’s uncontrollable.
“It’s very, very unclear to me how they are going to be able to get at this molten fuel, extract it from the bottoms of these highly damaged buildings and package it for safer or less dangerous storage or disposal.”
“This is an accident that’s shockingly not stopping.” It’s certain to worsen. It’s unchartered territory.
It affects the region. It’s humanity’s worst environmental nightmare. Nuclear rain affects North America and Europe.
“It targets the bone, because it’s like calcium. And so this is a problem. We don’t have measurements far out to sea.”
MARINE LIFE SWIMS IN IT, EATS FROM IT, BREATHES IT.
BUT WILL THE LIKES OF NOAA, THE EPA, ANY "PROTECTIVE AGENCY" ANYWHERE SAY THAT IT'S KILLING OCEAN LIFE, THAT IT WILL KILL US, TOO?
Karl Grossman:
"Avoiding potentially catastrophic accidents requires perfection and no 'acts of God'.
Humans and technology aren’t perfect.
Natural and other disasters happen.
We can’t eliminate them.
But we can – and must – eliminate atomic energy. Otherwise it’ll eliminate us."
Nuclear expert and pediatrician Helen Caldicott is clear and unequivocal, saying:
“As a physician, I contend that nuclear technology threatens life on our planet with extinction.”
“If present trends continue, the air we breathe, the food we eat, and the water we drink will soon be contaminated with enough radioactive pollutants to pose a potential health hazard far greater than any plague humanity has ever experienced.”
It doesn’t get any clearer than that.
Back in 2011, German and other international nuclear experts told us all that if the nuclear cores left containment then Fukushima could never be stopped.
Dr. Sebastian Pflugbeil, the chairman of German Society of Radiation Protection says that if a so called “China Syndrome” occurs there will be nothing that can stop the leaking.
“Nothing. There is no way to stop the nuclear fuel that has melted-through from leaking. All we could do is to pray for the fuel not to touch the underground water vein.
We must avoid internal exposure from contaminated food.
Authorities are trying to make Japanese eat polluted food for their twisted patriotism, but on the other hand, citizens are setting up independent labs around Japan. This is very important. However, lab facility costs are huge. Maintenance, recording the data costs too. Now, the best thing Germans can do is to support those independent facilities financially.”….fukushima diary.com
June 17, 2014, the New York Times noted:
“Inside the complex, there are three wrecked reactor cores, twisted masses of hundreds of tons of highly radioactive uranium, plutonium, cesium and strontium. After the meltdown[s], which followed a tsunami and earthquake in 2011, most of the material in the reactors re-solidified, in difficult shapes and in confined spaces, wrapped around and through the structural parts of the reactors and the buildings.
Or at least, that is what the engineers think. Nobody really knows, because nobody has yet examined many of the most important parts of the wreckage. Though three and a half years have passed, it is still too dangerous to climb inside for a look, and sending in a camera would risk more leaks.”
Radioactive cesium-137 levels in Pacific albacore tuna have tripled since the triple meltdowns at Fukushima-Daiichi in Japan, according to a study published in Environmental Science and Technology.
Delvan Neville, lead author of the study and a graduate research assistant in the Department of Nuclear Engineering and Radiation Health Physics at Oregon State University, told the Statesman Journal Apr. 28, “You can’t say there is absolutely zero risk because any radiation is assumed to carry at least some small risk.”
SOMETHING TOO FEW HAVE TALKED ABOUT
Dr. Steve Starr, Director of Clinical Laboratory Science Program, University of Missouri-Columbia, noted in a recent lecture, “Cesium 137 tends to bio-accumulate in plants and animals, which means it cannot be excreted faster than it is being ingested. Thus, as it accumulates, it increases in its concentration in the plants or animals that are routinely ingesting it. Cesium-137 also tends to bio-magnify as it moves up the food chain. This means it becomes progressively more concentrated in predator species.”
AS LONG AS IT LEAKS, LEVELS WILL CLIMB HIGHER IN OUR ENVIRONMENT (SOIL, WATER), OUR FOOD SUPPLY, OUR OWN BODIES...PERIOD...THE END.
NBC NEWS: As US Agency Hushed-up Dangers to US Reactors; Fukushima Owners Under-reported Radiation Exposures
NBC News reported March 10, 2014, that internal emails by staff at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission prove the agency deliberately down-played known earthquake and tsunami vulnerabilities at aging US reactors in the early days of the Fukushima catastrophe. NBC said the emails, “show that the campaign to reassure the public about America’s nuclear industry came as the agency’s [NRC’s] own experts were questioning US safety standards and scrambling to determine whether new rules were needed to ensure that the meltdown[s] occurring at the Japanese [site] could not occur here.”
NBC said the emails reveal the NRC’s “efforts to protect the industry it is supposed to regulate.”
The news network went as far as to say, “Dating back to the Three Mile Island nuclear crisis in 1979, many nuclear watchdogs and critics have said that the NRC acts first to protect the industry, and its own reputation.”
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission was helped in misleading the public by Tepco, which repeatedly underestimated internal radiation exposures of its workers involved in immediate emergency response, according to Japan’s Health, Labor and Welfare Ministry, Asahi Shimbun reported.
Last July, the Ministry reviewed exposure data on around workers and revealed that reported exposure levels for 452 out of 1,300 workers surveyed were too low. After that announcement, the Ministry looked at records of the remaining 6,200 workers, and in late March it announced 142 additional cases of underreporting.
TEPCO did not have whole-body radiation counters when the radiation disaster began, so true contamination measurements were not possible.
TEPCO NEVER SPENT MONEY ON REAL SAFETY...THAT CUT INTO PROFITS.
AND THIS IS THE ONLY THING WEIGHING ON ABE'S MIND....

Only the worst disaster in modern history and not even one comment here. I guess that shows how effective the cover-up has been.
ReplyDeleteI allowed this "anonymous comment" because it does make a valid point. While this particular post has been accessed a few thousand times, it is by no means in the "top 10". People simply (a) don't give a rip, or (b) don't comprehend the magnitude. The tendency of humans from infancy onward is to hide from "monsters", 'neath the covers, anywhere. That continues into adulthood. Fear is created, I believe, FIRST by the things we don't understand, but once the fear is a reality, it's quite hard to get folks to FACE their fears and to FIND understanding which ALLEVIATES fear...back to my same two old "songs..."Knowledge is POWER" and "Learn or perish".
DeleteThanks for going through the steps to post, "anonymous". There have been other comments on this topic, but mostly denial and the old "F-Bomb", which is not allowed here, but which has its place in the English language. My grandkids read here now and then, y'see. They can't point in my direction and say I use/allow the word so it's okay if they do... Weak reasoning, yes, but it comforts me...My blog, my way...But yeah, comments run 99% denial, with considerable "f-word" usage.
All the best.
Get an alias? Would hate to toss your comment JUST because it's anonymous.
This seems a likely spot to, ONCE AGAIN, remind readers that "Anonymous" comments are almost always just tossed and not even read. Anonymous annoys me for many reasons. 95% or more of ALL anonymous comments have hyperlinks that lead to some sort of business, some type of internet SCAM, some porn site, some website that was created to gather info and WORSE from whatever unsuspecting soul follows the link, and/or uses that ever-popular "F-WORD", which, as I have said a bazillion times, will not be allowed here because of young readers under 18 years old.
DeleteThe Tea Room NEVER tosses comments for disagreeing with my take on things as I am convinced disagreements spark higher learning and solutions to "unsolvable" problems. Nothing gets the synapses firing like a good debate. Well, maybe a life-or-death situation trumps that.
Anyway, get an alias, use Mickey Mouse as a name, just avoid that "anonymous" label so we maybe won't miss good comments just because the Tea Room got sick of wading through hundreds of those a day, sometimes, and decided to just toss them rather than expend the time and energy to slog through so bloody many. I am old...humor me.
