SAUDI ARABIA STILL BOMBING YEMEN. UN THREATENS CHARGES OF WAR CRIMES

CAN IT BE POSSIBLE THAT, AFTER 82 YEARS, THE UN AND THE U.S. HAVE SPOKEN OUT AGAINST THE HOUSE OF SAUD FOR ITS ONGOING GENOCIDE IN YEMEN?
UN urges probe into Saudi Yemen strikes

"The world body has already warned of a "human catastrophe unfolding in Yemen."
Meanwhile, General Ahmed al-Asiri, a Saudi military spokesman, said on Thursday that Riyadh will scale down combat operations in Yemen in an apparent bid to divert mounting criticism of the military aggression.
However, al-Asiri stressed that the kingdom will continue to provide air support to Yemen’s former regime loyalists battling Houthi Ansarullah fighters and allied army units on the ground."

AFTER ALL, THIS WAR BEGAN IN EARNEST IN 1934!
82 YEARS OF SAUDI ATTACKS!

IN THE LATEST UNDECLARED WAR WHICH BEGAN JUST LAST YEAR, SAUDI ARABIA HAD KILLED OVER 8,200 YEMENI CITIZENS, ACCORDING TO STATS GATHERED IN JANUARY, 2016.

THERE HAVE BEEN ANOTHER 2 MONTHS OF HEAVY BOMBINGS SINCE JANUARY, AND JUST A FEW DAYS AGO, OVER 100 YEMENIS WERE KILLED IN JUST ONE BOMB ATTACK.

A senior UN official says the death toll from recent Saudi airstrikes on a crowded market in the Yemeni province of Hajjah has risen to nearly 120."The UN sources say the victims include at least 20 children. Many other Yemenis were injured in the deadly aerial raids in the troubled region.

The UN children’s agency in a statement strongly denounced the deadly airstrikes."

HAD THIS ONGOING YEAR-LONG ASSAULT BEEN HAPPENING IN ISRAEL, THE WHOLE WORLD WOULD BE CALLING FOR ISRAEL TO BE PUNISHED, STOPPED, TRIED FOR WAR CRIMES.

WHY  NOT SAUDI ARABIA?
OIL?
BECAUSE IF THE U.S. OR UN SANCTIONS THE HOUSE OF SAUD THEY'LL DRIVE OIL PRICES THROUGH THE ROOF?

OR IS THAT NOT WHAT WALL STREET WANTS TO SEE?
THE SAUDIS WERE NOT ATTACKED BY YEMEN AS ISRAEL IS ATTACKED DAILY BY HAMAS.

IT WAS NOT TO STOP MISSILES FLYING INTO SAUDI ARABIA FROM YEMEN OR SUICIDE BOMBERS, OR DRIVE-BY SHOOTERS FROM YEMEN ATTACKING SAUDI CITIZENS THAT HOUSE OF SAUD BEGAN THIS SLAUGHTER.

WHILE ISRAEL ACTS IN SELF-DEFENSE, HOUSE OF SAUD ACTS FOR NO VALID REASON WHATSOEVER.

THE SAUDI GOVERNMENT IS MERELY AFRAID THAT IRAN WILL USE YEMEN TO GET CLOSER TO SAUDI BORDERS.
THIS IS A SORT OF "PROXY WAR", THE YEMEN PEOPLE BEARING THE SLAUGHTER FOR ITS ASSOCIATION WITH IRAN.

SAUDI PARANOIA DRIVES THE KILLING.

Yemen has been isolated from the world and left to die.

More than 80 percent of its population—21.1 million people—is in need of aid. Thirteen million are at risk from starvation and 9.4 million are imperiled by thirst. Water is in such scarcity that Yemenis have resorted to bathing with damp cloths and shaving their heads so they don’t have to wash their hair. Malaria has become rampant thanks to desperate quaffs from unsanitary water sources.

As in Syria, Saudi Arabia’s impetus in Yemen is to counter Iran, which it believes is providing the Houthis with weapons and training.

Tehran’s level of intimacy with the Shia Houthis remains murky, but what is known is that aversion to Iran has burrowed so deeply into the Saudi psyche as to border on paranoia.

Internal documents released by Wikileaks reveal a Kingdom determined to squash even the most ethereal hint of Iranian expansion, even going so far as to block Persian carpets from being imported by mosques in Mecca and Medina.

Scratch the surface and the geopolitical games quickly become sectarian. One Saudi proposal involved a program to stymie the spread of Shia Islam in China.

Why has the Saudi campaign in Yemen not elicited the same condemnation as Bashar al-Assad’s killing of his people?

One of the reasons is that Assad is tied to Iran and the Saudis are countering Iran. This bias, hardwired into American foreign policy, has led us to support a war that’s chopping apart civilians and empowering Al Qaeda.

The Houthis militarized in 2004 in part because they came to believe that Saudi Wahhabis, who had come south ten years earlier to fight in Yemen’s previous civil war, were integrated too deeply into society while the impoverished Shia north was neglected.
Today we’re trying to beat them back—with more Saudi meddling that’s inflicting more poverty."

ATTACKS ON YEMEN BY SAUDI ARABIA SINCE THE 1930s...

In 1932, Ibn Saud, 'hero' of the founding of the NEW nation of 'Saudi Arabia', named in his honor, controlled almost all of Arabia, except for Yemen, and the smaller coastal states which were then British protectorates (Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Aden, etc.).

Between Hejaz and Yemen were tribal regions over which the Ottomans had previously held weak suzerainty, and which both Ibn Saud and the Imam of Yemen claimed to control.

When House of Saud claimed land in three of Yemen's provinces, Emir Idrissi of Jizan and Abu Arish recanted his previous temporary allegiance to Ibn Saud and fled to Yemen to join Imam Yahya Muhammad Hamid ed-Din, the King of Yemen.

All hell broke loose
In May 1934, the Saudi forces pressed their attack into the coastal region, occupying Hodeida, and, after capturing Hodeida, Saudi forces advanced towards Sanaa.

On 12 May 1934, peace negotiations had commenced.
The SAUDI King dropped his demand for the Yemeni Imam's abdication, but demanded a truce for at least 20 years.

The Saudi's relinquished Hodeida and the Yemeni coast, but the other disputed areas were incorporated into Saudi Arabia. Jizan/Jizin, Asir, and Najran are today part of Saudi Arabia.

STOLEN LANDS.

PURE AND SIMPLE, THE SAUDIS ARE GUILTY OF DOING WHAT ISRAEL HAS BEEN FALSELY ACCUSED OF DOING...TAKING LANDS IT DIDN'T HAVE A RIGHT TO.

AFTER ALL, THE LEAGUE OF NATIONS GAVE BACK ISRAEL'S HISTORICAL LAND TO THEM AT THE TURN OF THE 20th CENTURY, ONLY TO TAKE BACK ALL THE LAND THAT NOW COMPRISES JORDAN (and the 'West Bank'), A GIFT TO SAUDI'S MONARCHY IN ESSENCE, SOMETHING TO APPEASE THE HOUSE OF SAUD.

THE UN HAS NEVER GRANTED RIGHTS TO YEMENI LANDS TO SAUDI ARABIA.

FROM THAT DAY OF TREATY IN 1934 TO THE PRESENT, TENSIONS AND SPORADIC FIGHTING HAVE NOT SUBSIDED FOR LONG WHILE SAUDI ARABIA HAS THREATENED AND MADE GOOD ON THREATS, AND YEMEN HAS STRUGGLED TO SURVIVE.

THE LATEST BOMBINGS AND GENOCIDE BEGAN AFRESH IN 2015 WITH OVER 8 THOUSAND YEMENIS RECORDED AS KILLED, INCLUDING THOUSANDS OF CHILDREN AMONG THE RECORDED DEAD AND THOUSANDS OF WOMEN.

HOSPITALS, SCHOOLS, PLACES OF WORSHIP HAVE ALL BEEN TARGETS OF THE SAUDI ONSLAUGHT AND EVEN THE U.S. AND BRITAIN HAVE PROVIDED WEAPONS TO THE HOUSE OF SAUD AS REQUESTED.
NOTHING AND NO ONE OFF-LIMITS TO SAUDI ATTACKS.

The Yemeni Civilian Association announced in a report in January, 2016, that the ongoing Saudi attacks have claimed the lives of 8,278 people, including 2,236 children, and left 16,015 others injured.
The attacks have also destroyed or damaged:
-          Around 345,722 houses
-          39 universities
-          262 hospitals
-          16 media offices
-          615 mosques
-          810 schools and educational centers

Forced the closure of around 4,000 schools

Further damaged in Saudi strikes:

-          1,113 government buildings
-          191 factories
-          59 heritage sites
-          41 sports stadiums
-          124 chicken farms
-          547 food stores
-          421 fuel tankers

Saudi attacks have destroyed or damaged:

-          530 bridges and roads
-          163 water tanks
-          140 power plants
-          167 telecommunications sites
-          14 airports
-          10 seaports

YEMEN LIES IN RUIN.

SAUDI ARABIA HAS BLOCKADED YEMEN, KEEPING BOTH MEDICAL AND FOOD AID FROM REACHING THE NATION, AND HAS PREVENTED CITIZENS OF YEMEN FROM BEING ABLE TO FLEE THE HEAVIEST AREAS OF BOMBINGS.

IN 2003, SAUDI ARABIA ERECTED A 'FENCE' BETWEEN ITSELF AND YEMEN.

[SEE
, February 17, 2004. "Saudi security barrier stirs anger in Yemen". The Guardian.]
"Yemeni opposition newspapers compared the barrier to the Israeli West Bank barrier, while The Independent wrote, "Saudi Arabia, one of the most vocal critics in the Arab world of Israel's 'security fence' in the West Bank, is quietly emulating the Israeli example by erecting a barrier along its porous border with Yemen."

THEN, SAUDI ARABIA BUILT ITS "GREAT WALL" AGAINST IRAQ:

"The barrier was proposed in 2006, and was constructed in 2014 following the rise of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant in Iraq. The barrier is sometimes referred to as the Great Wall of Saudi Arabia.

WHEN ISRAEL BUILT A FENCE, DIDN'T THE ENTIRE WORLD OBJECT?

WHEN EGYPT ERECTED BARRICADES AND FLATTENED GAZAN HOUSES TO MAKE A FENCE BETWEEN ITSELF AND GAZA, WHEN EGYPT CLOSED THE ONLY CROSSING OUT OF GAZA AND REFUSED TO ALLOW GAZANS IN, WHO CRIED OUT AGAINST EGYPT?

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?
THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE EXCEPT OIL, LOTS AND LOTS OF SAUDI OIL.

SAUDI WAR CRIMES?
MAYBE, AT LAST.

In January,
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon warned that the Saudi-led coalition's use of cluster bombs in Yemen "may amount to war crimes".

When questioned about the UN chief's warning, former adviser to the Saudi royal family Jamal Khashoggi tells Mehdi Hasan, "we are supporting the people of Yemen to save them from dictatorship".

NO, SAUDI ARABIA IS MAKING WAR TO KEEP IRAN FROM BEING AN INFLUENCE IN YEMEN.

AS ONE ARABIAN NEWS ARTICLE PUT IT,

"A nation with imperial ambitions is sowing chaos in the Middle East. Its tendrils have extended to another country’s civil war where, thanks to its terrorist-allied proxies on the ground, it could very well consume another regional capital. Its bombs seem to target civilians indiscriminately and have created a humanitarian crisis that the world community is struggling to alleviate.
This is usually when an interlude is scheduled so neoconservatives can make yelping noises about Iran.
But in this case, the culprits aren’t Tehran and Bashar al Assad.

The meddling nation is our good friend Saudi Arabia and the civil war in question is in Yemen."

Meanwhile, Yemen struggles on and has seen a few victories...

Yemen captures 85 Saudi mercenaries

YES, MERCENARIES, MERCENARIES BECAUSE HOUSE OF SAUD HIRES OUTSIDERS TO FIGHT FOR THEM.

SAUDI PARANOIA, SAUDI OIL, SAUDI HYPOCRISY....ALL GO UNADDRESSED BY MOST.

NO ONE SEEMS TO MIND WHAT THE HOUSE OF SAUD DOES, FROM CHILD RAPE TO BEHEADINGS TO GENOCIDE...JUST KEEP PUMPING OUT CHEAP OIL... DO AS YOU PLEASE, RIGHT?

WRONG.
WRONG FOR 82 YEARS.
