CLIMATE CHANGE FACTS FROM SCIENTIFIC DATA MAY LEAVE YOU "COLD", BUT WHAT ABOUT THOSE WHO ARE SEEING IT, REPORTING IT, TRYING TO CHANGE THE CLIMATE CHANGE BECAUSE THEY DEPEND ON A STEADY, UNCHANGING CLIMATE SO THEY CAN LIVE?
YES, VIRGINIA, THERE ARE HUNDREDS TO THOUSANDS OF DAILY MEASUREMENTS, PHOTOGRAPHIC AND VIDEO EVIDENCE, ALL FROM PEOPLE LIVING WITH CLIMATE CHANGE, AND WHAT THESE REAL PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO TELL US SUPPORTS THE PEER-REVIEWED SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE THAT OUR GLOBAL CLIMATE HAS CHANGED....NOT IS CHANGING...BUT HAS CHANGED.
AS I POINTED OUT IN A PREVIOUS BLOG, COASTAL AND ISLAND RESIDENTS WILL GLADLY SHOW YOU EVIDENCE THAT THINGS HAVE WARMED UP AND BEGUN TO MELT DOWN.
[ SEE http://havacuppahemlock1.blogspot.com/2014/12/american-towns-destroyed-by-rising-seas.html ]
THAT ALONE SHOULD HAVE CONVINCED THE MOST DIE-HARD DENIER OF CLIMATE CHANGE, BUT HERE'S AN ADDENDUM....FOR THE CHRONIC DENIERS.
1~ MEASURED TEMPERATURES ALL OVER THE WORLD SHOW AN INCREASE IN TEMPERATURE.
IF YOU THINK ONLY "TREE-HUGGING HIPPIES", ONLY DEDICATED ENVIRONMENTALISTS KEEP TRACK OF GLOBAL TEMPERATURES, YOU ARE 100% WRONG!
THE WEATHER IN EVERY NATION IS CLOSELY MONITORED BY...THE NATIONS THEMSELVES, MANY WHO DO NOT AGREE THAT WE HAVE SEEN A CLIMATE CHANGE!
THERE ARE ALSO SATELLITES ABOVE YOU THAT TAKE ALMOST CONSTANT PHOTOS AND VIDEOS OF OUR CHANGES HERE BELOW.
[ YOU MAY ACCESS A SHORT LIST OF THESE BY OPENING LINKS AT THIS SITE:

Even the U.S. Navy declassified maps showing rising global sea levels!
http://www7320.nrlssc.navy.mil/global_nlom32/navo/WHO.gif
WHAT DO THESE MANY THOUSANDS OF PIECES OF COLLECTED DATA SHOW?
A 1.2 TO 2 DEGREE INCREASE IN EARTH'S TEMPERATURE.
Almost 2 degrees warmer, half of which has happened since the early 1970s.
Northern hemisphere nations have seen higher rises than Southern hemisphere nations...greater population density, fewer expansive forests, less soil, more concrete, etc.
Simply the collected facts.
NASA may have the best facts, the most photographic evidence.
Or NOAA.
OR ALASKAN INDIGENOUS TRIBES!
But even nations like North Korea and China have had to admit, things ARE warming up!
Local weathermen all across America have long reported this trend.
Maybe no one watches local weather anymore?
Maybe no one realizes that greenhouse gas emissions have been cited as a leading cause in rising temps, BUT the U.S. "Environmental Protection Agency", which ONLY protects BIG BUSINESS and ALL who don't give one small damn about such, does NOT force greenhouse gas emissions reports, NOT EVEN FROM THOSE KNOWN TO PUMP THOUSANDS OF TONS INTO YOUR AIR EACH DAY!
NO, THE EPA IS HAPPY TO LITERALLY HIDE THE STATISTICS MANDATED BY CONGRESS THAT SHOWS WHO IS PUMPING WHAT INTO OUR AIR.
WHY WOULD ANY BIG BUSINESS WANT TO HIDE THAT?
YOU GET ONE GUESS.
THERE IS A MAP, OF SORTS, BUT THE EPA WARNS YOU THIS MAP DOES NOT REFLECT THE TOTAL, AS IN ALL, EMISSIONS OF GREENHOUSE GASES, NOR IS IT EVER LIKELY TO, BUT THE MAP IS AN EYE-OPENER SINCE WE KNOW HOW FEW BUSINESSES HAVE STATS ON THIS MAP.
WHAT IF EVERY MAJOR AIR POLLUTER HAD TO BE SHOWN, AS IN HAD TO REPORT TO THE PUBLIC, TO US?
BOGGLES THE MIND!
HAVE A LOOK...GO BACK A MONTH FROM NOW, SEE WHAT'S CHANGED.
THANK THE EPA FOR NOTHING, UNLESS YOU ARE A NON-REPORTED BUSINESS, OF COURSE, WITH MUCH TO HIDE!
http://ghgdata.epa.gov/ghgp/main.do
THE MAP IS INTERACTIVE, SO IF YOU ENLARGE ANY AREA, LITTLE "FACTORIES" WILL POP UP AND HOVERING OVER THAT WILL GIVE YOU A NAME OF A POLLUTER, LIKE ANYONE CARES, RIGHT?
2~ ASK THE ANIMALS?
HAS ANYTHING CHANGED IN THE ANIMAL WORLD?
ARE THE ANIMALS TELLING US WE REALLY SHOULD BELIEVE IN CLIMATE CHANGE?
YES!
IN SEVERAL BIG WAYS!
(A) BREEDING SEASONS
All across the globe, hunters, as well as conservationists will tell you the breeding seasons are changed.
Some are radically changed, others by only days to weeks.
Most hunters, or so the stats say, do NOT believe in climate change, but all over the internet, hunting groups are chatting about the "new breeding seasons", and worrying that it will change their hunts.
For marine animals, especially those who breed within the Arctic Circle, or down near Antarctica, things are very, very much changed.
Penguins, not dependent on sea ice to breed, have managed to cope, just moving things up a little.
Other animals, like the Polar Bear, are not faring well at all.
(B) FOOD SOURCES
Migration and breeding are both dependent on good food sources, but what is an animal to do when its food supplies die off, becoming available earlier, later, in smaller amounts?
High country animals especially, it seems, are seeing changes.
Compared to the late 1800s, the first flowering dates for 43 of the most common plant species in higher elevations have moved forward an average of 10 days. Other plants have simply disappeared, including 15 species of orchids.
The term "native species" doesn't count for much anymore as earth's marine and land species are moving about 11 degrees further north each decade now due to climate change.
One species of bird, the Ceti warbler has moved 90 miles further north.
Some plant species are simply dying out as they cannot move away from higher temperatures.
Across the globe, of all bird species, the hummingbirds may be faring the worst.
COMPLETELY dependent on opening flower blooms for life-sustaining nectar, "hummers" are missing the "opening days" of many flowers, and so must move on, and on, never quite catching up.
Their plight has been noted everywhere by bird watching children to seasoned scientists.
(C) BASIC DNA CHANGES
DNA, genomes have shifted.
Most easily seen in common flies north of the equator, in bird species, in insects, their DNA now have DNA structures that more closely matches the DNA of their 'cousins' that live around the equator!
NO ONE was expecting this, so it isn't that scientists looked at DNA to prove climate change, but that IS what happened.
A first-year college student in a genetics class can show you this, no rocket science required.
(D) SOME SPECIES BREEDING OUTSIDE THEIR OWN!
Polar bears and grizzly bears are mating, as are different species of everything from butterflies to sharks.
In some instances, it's clear that climate change is playing a role. More than 1,700 animal species across the globe have shifted their ranges northward and upward in elevation, searching for colder temperatures and following as the plants and other animals they rely on shift as well. Ice sheets and other physical barriers that once kept species apart are disappearing.
Ecologically, does it matter if the world loses purebred species to hybridization? Is it best to get involved, or to let nature take its human-altered course, creating new species and eliminating others? These are the questions experts are just beginning to ponder, even as the planet continues to warm.
In 2006 an American big-game hunter from Idaho shot and killed the first documented wild polar-grizzly bear hybrid, UNHEARD OF BEFORE IN THE LOWER 48 STATES!
Across the continent, Eric Forsman, a biologist with the U.S. Forest Service, has watched closely while spotted owls, a threatened species in the United States, lose their tenuous foothold in the Pacific Northwest, in part because of interbreeding with newly arrived barred owls. Barred owls have expanded their range from their native Midwestern homeland to the Pacific Coast, likely due to ... yes, climate change.
Old hunters, fishermen, those who hike daily, landowners, school children, American Indian Tribal leaders, even seasonal renters and vacationers have complained and sent photographic evidence of serious climate change to their "congressmen".
CONGRESS DOES NOT CARE!
(E) REDUCTION IN NUMBERS
More polar bears, including cubs, are drowning as sea ice melts, causing them to have to try to swim further distances to get to sea ice, their hunting grounds. Starvation is also overtaking large numbers of polar bears.
Cub mortality has changed from about 18% to about 45%, a huge loss of life for the bears.
All along coastal areas, from the Arctic Circle to the tip of South America, villagers, residents, as well as scientists are reporting huge fish die-offs, dolphin deaths, whales, walruses, sea stars, lobsters, sea turtles, even seagulls, everything in the oceans dying or beaching themselves in record numbers.
Many theories have arisen, but we do know that sea life is more sensitive to SUBTLE changes than we who live on land.
Sea life IS dying. That's what should matter most!
3~ IT ISN'T JUST ANIMALS, PLANTS ARE REACTING STRONGLY TO CLIMATE CHANGE
There is an odd example for this, something most wouldn't even think about:
Records of spring flowers in Concord, Mass., initially kept by Henry David Thoreau in 1845-1846, show that not only are flowers blooming earlier, the species that haven't moved up their first bloom dates are disappearing.
This same thing is being recorded all over the world, by every culture!
NOT surprisingly, the INDIGENOUS PEOPLE, "Native Tribesmen" on all inhabited continents are the most angry about this, and many are trying to fight back.
They are there, have been there longer than "newcomers" and they know the land.
Do you?
Native Alaskans have complained and have even filed suit about these plant and animal changes. Their very LIVES depend on both!
The large inland game they hunt are staying higher up for longer periods because food supplies in traditional feeding grounds just does not show up as it once did.
Native Tribes in Alaska and other states have petitioned for a change in hunting seasons, and have sued over greenhouse gas emissions and other air pollutants they say are causing global warming, all to no avail.
If some court had to side with the Natives, those causing global warming might have to pay out BIG TIME!
Can't have that!
4~ ENTIRE ECOSYSTEMS COLLAPSING HAVE "REAL" PEOPLE WORRIED.
A PRIME EXAMPLE OF "EARTH CHANGE", MOUNT RAINIER
Mount Rainier: Case study of a changing Earth
2014
[ LOCALS KNOW NOT TO TRUST THE MOUNTAIN ANYMORE! ]
In 2006, Gordon Grant, professor of geosciences at Oregon State University, called floods and debris flows at Mount Rainier “the most dramatic catastrophic effects of climate change in the United States.”
Park biologists say rising temperatures could change the current mix of plant and animal species in the park from top to bottom in this century.
The magnitude of possible consequences at Mount Rainier is so great that the park has become a magnet for climate-change researchers from around the country.
Geologists and biologists are making predictions based on global climate models, but those models were designed for predicting changes on broad, ecosystem-size regions and don’t work well for predicting specific changes on an area as small and unusual as Mount Rainier.
That makes it difficult for park officials to communicate their sense of urgency to skeptics in Congress, some of whom still profess to believe that the whole idea of global warming is fiction.
[ MOST FOOLS NEVER LISTEN UNTIL HEARING IS A MOOT POINT! ]
At the foot of the Nisqually Glacier, the roar of rushing water and grinding rock is so loud you have to shout to be heard.
Water bursts from an ice cave the size of an aircraft hangar, its arched roof dripping in the sun. Flurries of stones clatter down canyon walls.
Paul Kennard, a National Park Service geomorphologist here with a team of researchers using laser scanners to locate the volume and sources of rock coming off the glacier, wears a helmet for protection against stones streaking like hot grounders from the glacier’s upper slopes.
While they work, two chunks of ice the size of refrigerators break away from the glacier and crunch onto the rocks below.
For anyone familiar with the effects of climate change, it comes as no surprise that Mount Rainier’s glaciers are melting.
The Nisqually Glacier, the one of Rainier’s 28 named glaciers most accessible to visitors, has been receding rapidly since 1983. It’s at a historic minimum, and this summer it shrank toward the mountain’s summit at unprecedented speed: more than 3 feet every 10 days.
Sediment from the glaciers is filling the park’s river beds and wiping out roads faster than the park can repair them, raising the distinct possibility that, before long, visiting the park by private automobile might no longer be possible.
Without congressional support, it’s impossible for park officials to do the two things they think are most important.
First, cut back on greenhouse gas emissions as quickly and completely as possible.
And second, fund research so it’s possible to recognize climate-caused changes and come up with management solutions.
NEITHER OF THOSE ARE REMOTELY LIKELY TO HAPPEN NOW THAT ALL OF CONGRESS WILL BE CONTROLLED BY THE GOP, WHO WOULD RATHER SEE THEIR OWN MOTHERS CHOKE TO DEATH THAN DENY CONTINUED POLLUTION AND ENVIRONMENTAL DESTRUCTION BY THOSE WHO SO HEAVILY PAD THEIR CAMPAIGN CHESTS!
SOME INDIVIDUALS WOULD RATHER WATCH THE EARTH SUCCUMB TO PRETENDED "PROGRESS", MAKE A FEW BUCKS OFF THE DEMISE THAN SAVE IT, OR EVEN SLOW DOWN THE PROCESS!
"We're forcing change to happen so quickly that it is more likely to promote extinctions than provide adaptive responses." ~ Spokesman for the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy
EXTINCTIONS?
WHO CARES?
LET'S KEEP DOING WHAT WE'RE DOING!
WHO WANTS TO LIVE FOREVER, RIGHT?
WHO CARES ABOUT "DUMB ANIMALS" AND PLANTS?
BESIDES, WE IN AMERICA HAVE GIVEN CONS IN CON-GRESS THE AUTHORITY TO CHOOSE EXTINCTION FOR EVERYONE!
HOW DUMB WAS THAT OF US?
WHO'S THE "DUMB ANIMAL" NOW?
