No federal agency currently samples Pacific Coast seawater for radiation, 
he said.

"I'm not trying to be alarmist," Buesseler said. "

We can make predictions, we can do models. 

But unless you have results, how will we know it's safe?"

Government Reacts to Fukushima Radiation Crisis By Raising Acceptable Radiation Standards  … Instead of Fixing Anything

"2 weeks after the Fukushima accident, we reported that the government responded to the nuclear accident by trying to raise acceptable radiation levels and pretending that radiation is good for us.

Since then, massive radiation has been released on a daily basis from Fukushima… for years.

And there are so many new leaks that even the mainstream press is starting to admit that Fukushima was never fixed.

Radiation from Fukushima is slamming Tokyo, as well as the West Coast of North America.

Fukushima radiation is showing up in fish on the West Coast of the United States.  Scientists are starting to sound the alarm as to additional human deaths and health problems on the U.S. West Coast due to Fukushima radiation, and an epidemic of injuries to sealife.

An investigation by Associated Press found that 75 percent of all U.S. nuclear sites have leaked radioactive tritium.

In fact, whistleblowers at the Nuclear Regulator Commission say that the risk of a major meltdown at U.S. nuclear reactors is much higher than it was at Fukushima.

So what has the American government done to protect us?

It has pressured the Japanese government to re-start its nuclear program, and is allowing Fukushima seafood to be sold in the U.S.

And U.S. nuclear regulators actually weakened safety standards for U.S. nuclear reactors after the Fukushima disaster.  

As we noted 6 months after Fukushima melted down:

American and Canadian authorities have virtually stopped monitoring airborne radiation, and are not testing fish for radiation. (Indeed, the EPA reacted to Fukushima by raising “acceptable” radiation levels.) 

 The failure of the American, Canadian and other governments to test for and share results is making it difficult to hold an open scientific debate about what is happening. 

According to Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER) [a government whistleblower support group], that means agencies responding to radiation emergencies may permit many more civilian fatalities.

“In soil, the PAGs allow long-term public exposure to radiation in amounts as high as 2,000 millirems,” PEER advocacy director Kirsten Stade said in a press release.

“This would, in effect, increase a longstanding 1 in 10,000 person cancer rate to a rate of 1 in 23 persons exposed over a 30-year period.”

Former MSNBC host Cenk Uygur has admitted that while he was at MSNBC he was instructed not to warn the public about the radiation coming from Fukushima…

“I was on MSNBC at the time when this happened, I said, “Don’t trust what the Japanese government is saying, they’ll say trust what the electric power company is saying. 
Go, go, go, get outta there. Get as far away from that plant as you can. It’s literally a core meltdown.” 
 And they always don’t want people to panic, so they were always like, “Oh it’s going to be okay.” [...] 
I’m like, “You’re crazy man, don’t be anywhere near that reactor.” 

And I remember at the time, of course not at The Young Turks, but on cable news, people were like, “Hey Cenk, you know, I don’t know that you want to say that, because the official government position is that it’s safe.” 

Oh, is that the official government position? 
Now go explain that to the people who served on the USS Ronald Reagan.”

It was discovered back in 1978, that even the smallest amount of radiation will cause cancer and genetic damage, and this is according to many researchers and scientists studying this and reporting on this, around the world. 
(But the nuclear industry keeps lying and deceiving the public about this, saying the opposite.)  

Dr. Johanes Ude (professor of Catholic moral theology and friend of Albert Schweitzer) said that the use of nuclear energy is a CRIME against humanity. Building and defending the lie that nuclear power is harmless is a CRIME against humanity.

Dr. Charnosenko (in charge of cleanup of Chernobyl) says that in the future, the negative consequences of atomic energy will be disastrous.

Nuclear experts and the corporate owned mass media say that these accidents have no consequences, and this is a lie. 

#3 reactor and spent fuel pool at Fukushima contained over a TON of plutonium. (This means it was a breeder reactor) 

Plutonium is a very dangerous substance that can turn into nano particles very easily in case of a nuclear accident. 
After an accident, plutonium nano dust rises into the air, gets carried by the wind and then goes around the world, where we inhale it or eat it with food or drink it with water.

"Experts" say that Chernobyl was not REALLY dangerous. 
Actually, it was a special reactor, designed to make pure weapons bomb grade plutonium. 
This was and still is a huge secret that was covered up by the Soviets. 
Fuel rods were only in the reactor for a short time, compared to a normal nuclear reactor. There was hardly any radioactivity in the reactor, when it exploded. 

The graphite, plutonium, uranium, cesium and other radioactive nano particles went way up in the air and went around the world. 

This accident, with just one reactor, and with no spent fuel pool, plus hardly any radiation in the fuel, killed over one million people (just in Russia), which has been documented by scientific studies. 

For other reactors, such as the GE nuclear reactors, this is and will not be the same case of low radiation amounts. 

In case of a future nuclear accident, millions of people will die, because more radiation will be released, much more than Chernobyl.
 (Fukushima is one example of how millions will die.)

It does not matter if the civilian nuclear industry or the military creates a radioactive particle. 
Radiation is radiation and it is extremely dangerous.

June 2 — PUTRAJAYA: International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) today admitted there is no such thing as “safe” levels of radiation. However , it told the Consumer Association of Penang that some radiation levels could be justified.

Mohideen also said that the IAEA’s radiation standards were merely an “international consensus” as studies had not found a safe level of radiation.

He also cited a study from the National Academy of Science which said that one out of five workers would suffer from cancer if exposed to what the IAEA deemed an allowable radiation level.

(CBS News) Modern wheat is a "perfect, chronic poison," according to Dr. William Davis, a cardiologist who has published a book all about the world's most popular grain.
Davis said that the wheat we eat these days isn't the wheat your grandma had: "It's an 18-inch tall plant created by genetic research in the '60s and '70s," he said on "CBS This Morning." "This thing has many new features nobody told you about, such as there's a new protein in this thing called gliadin. It's not gluten. I'm not addressing people with gluten sensitivities and celiac disease. I'm talking about everybody else because everybody else is susceptible to the gliadin protein that is an opiate. This thing binds into the opiate receptors in your brain and in most people stimulates appetite, such that we consume 440 more calories per day, 365 days per year."
Asked if the farming industry could change back to the grain it formerly produced, Davis said it could, but it would not be economically feasible because it yields less per acre.

People losing leg swelling, acid reflux, irritable bowel syndrome, depression, and on and on every day."
To avoid these wheat-oriented products, Davis suggests eating "real food," such as avocados, olives, olive oil, meats, and vegetables. "(It's) the stuff that is least likely to have been changed by agribusiness," he said. "Certainly not grains. When I say grains, of course, over 90 percent of all grains we eat will be wheat, it's not barley... or flax. It's going to be wheat.
"It's really a wheat issue."

Some health resources, such as the Mayo Clinic, advocate a more balanced diet that does include wheat. But Davis said on "CTM" they're just offering a poor alternative.
"All that literature says is to replace something bad, white enriched products with something less bad, whole grains, and there's an apparent health benefit - 'Let's eat a whole bunch of less bad things.' So I take...unfiltered cigarettes and replace with Salem filtered cigarettes, you should smoke the Salems. That's the logic of nutrition, it's a deeply flawed logic. What if I take it to the next level, and we say, 'Let's eliminate all grains,' what happens then?
"That's when you see, not improvements in health, that's when you see transformations in health."

A recent study conducted by Canadian scientists Professor Christopher Shaw and Dr. Lucija Tomljenovic revealed that the more vaccines that children receive containing the adjuvant aluminum, the greater their chance is of developing autism, autoimmune diseases and neurological problems in the future.

In 2013, in their paper, published by Springer Science+Business Media, titled Aluminum in the Central Nervous System: Toxicity in Humans and Animals, Vaccine Adjuvants, and Autoimmunity, they revealed that during a 17-year period, the rates of autism had increased significantly in countries that had the most vaccinations containing the adjuvant aluminum. 

A Highly Significant Correlation

The researchers compared the number of vaccines recommend by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) during the period from 1991 – 2008 and the changes in the autism rates during the same period.
They wrote:

“The data sets, graphed against each other, show a pronounced and statistically highly significant correlation between the number vaccines with aluminum and the changes in autism rates. Further data showed that a significant correlation exists between the amounts of aluminum given to preschool children and the current rates of autism in seven Western countries. Those countries with the highest level of aluminum-adjuvanted vaccines had the highest autism rates.” [1]

They revealed that:

“The observed correlation between the number of aluminum-adjuvanted vaccines and ASD was further tested using Hill’s criteria and met eight of nine of these indicating that vaccines containing aluminum are highly likely to be at least partially causal for autism.”

Professor Shaw and Dr. Tomljenovic continued their paper by adding that:

“There are other links between aluminum exposure/toxicity and ASD. These include the following: A pilot study showed higher than normal aluminum levels in the hair, blood and/or urine of autistic children; children are regularly exposed to higher levels of aluminum in vaccines per body weight than adults; practically, nothing is known about the has been linked to serious neurological impairments, chronic fatigue and autoimmunity.”

This was explained in depth by pediatrician Robert Sears, in his excellent article published in the magazine Mothering in 2008.

Dr. Sears is another professional exceptionally worried about the effects of aluminum on children’s health. In an article warning mothers about the dangers of vaccinations containing the adjuvant, titled Is Aluminum The New Thimerosal? Dr. Sears explained that aluminum is added to vaccinations to help them work more efficiently.

He stated that although this would not normally be a problem because aluminum is a naturally occurring element found everywhere in our environment, including our food, water, air and soil, he had become worried about the effects that aluminum was having on children’s health. He began to wonder if anyone had ever actually tested the safe level of injected aluminum.

During his research, he came across a number of extremely worrying documents. However, few were as worrying as the one written by the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN). Describing the document in depth, Sears wrote:

“The source of the daily limit of 4 to 5 mcg of aluminum per kilogram of body weight quoted by the ASPEN statement seems to be a study that compared the neurologic development of about 100 premature babies who were fed a standard IV solution that contained aluminum, with the development of 100 premature babies who were fed the same solution with almost all aluminum filtered out. The study was prompted by a number of established facts: that injected aluminum can build up to toxic levels in the bloodstream, bones, and brain; that preemies have decreased kidney function and thus a higher risk of toxicity; that an autopsy performed on one preemie whose sudden death was otherwise unexplained revealed high aluminum concentrations in the brain; and that aluminum toxicity can cause progressive dementia.”

He continued by giving some extremely alarming facts, of which few parents are aware:

“However, none of these documents or studies mentions vaccines; they look only at IV solutions and injectable medications. Nor does the FDA require labels

on vaccines warning about the dangers of aluminum toxicity, although such labels are required for all other injectable medications. All of these studies and label warnings seem to apply mainly to premature babies and kidney patients. What about larger, full-term babies with healthy kidneys?”

He explained:

“However, these documents don’t tell us what the maximum safe dose would be for a healthy baby or child, and I can’t find such information anywhere. This is probably why the ASPEN group suggests, and the FDA requires, that all injectable solutions be limited to 25 mcg; we at least know that that level is safe.”

If this is so, then why do the recommended childhood vaccinations include far above the recommend amounts? According to Dr. Sears, the levels of aluminum included in childhood vaccinations are as follows:

    DTaP (diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis): 170–625 mcg, depending on
    manufacturer
    Hepatitis A: 250 mcg
    Hepatitis B: 250 mcg
    Hib (for meningitis; PedVaxHib brand only): 225 mcg
    HPV: 225 mcg
    Pediarix (DTaP–hepatitis B–polio combination): 850 mcg
    Pentacel (DTaP–Hib–polio combination): 330 mcg
    Pneumococcus: 125 mcg (emphasis added)

You do not have to be medically qualified to understand that these levels far exceed the safe levels recommended by ASPEN...

Conclusion

Aluminum, as these papers have demonstrated, is extremely toxic, especially when children are repeatedly vaccinated with vaccines containing aluminum over the recommended limits. The FDA and ASPEN recommend 25 mcg to be a safe limit and yet, as Dr. Sears has shown in his article, many of the childhood vaccinations contain aluminum far in excess of this amount.


MY CONCLUSION IS THAT WE'VE BEEN HAD FOR A VERY LONG TIME.

Multiple Infant Vaccines Linked To Dramatically Increased Mortality

A new study published in the journal Vaccine has brought to light an extremely disturbing though still virtually unreported dark side to immunization campaigns within low-income countries, namely, the observation that infant mortality sometimes increases when the number of co-administered vaccines increases; a finding diametrically opposed to the widely held belief that vaccination is always a life-saving intervention, and that the more vaccines administered to infants the better.  

New Study Links DTP and Yellow Fever Vaccines To Infant Deaths

The new observational study from the West African country Guinea-Bissau titled, "Co-administration of live measles and yellow fever vaccines and inactivated pentavalent vaccines is associated with increased mortality compared with measles and yellow fever vaccines only,"[i] opens with a reference to the already consistent observation in the biomedical literature that the co-administration of inactivated diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis (DTP) vaccine and live attenuated measles vaccine (MV) increases mortality compared with receiving MV only.  [ii] [iii] 

The purpose of the new investigation was to determine whether co-administration of pentavalent vaccine (PV) with MV and yellow fever vaccine (YF) had similar negative effects. Both PV and YF vaccines were introduced in Guinea-Bissau in 2008, with PV containing 5 vaccine antigens in one shot (DTP-H. Influenza type B-Hepatitis B).
The study findings emerged from a randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trial conducted in 2007-2011, where researchers administered vitamin A at routine vaccination contacts among children aged 6-23 months in urban and rural Guinea-Bissau. A total of 2331 children were randomized to placebo, receiving either live vaccines only (MV or MV+YF) or a combination of live and inactivated vaccines (MV+DTP or MV+YF+pentavalent).
When mortality was compared, the adjusted mortality rate ratio (MRR) for co-administered live and inactivated vaccines compared with live vaccines only was over three times greater (3.24 (1.20-8.73). When MV+YF+pentavalent was compared with MV+YF only, the adjusted MRR was almost eight times greater (7.73 (1.79-33.4)) for the combination of the three vaccines versus two.
The researchers concluded:
"In line with previous studies of DTP, the present results indicate that pentavalent vaccine co-administered with MV and YF is associated with increased mortality." 

Pentavalent and Yellow Fever Vaccines Already Linked To Fatalities

This finding takes on a more disturbing light when one considers that by the end of 2013, largely through the efforts of the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation (GAVI), pentavalent vaccines will have reached close to 200 million children in 72 developing countries. GAVI also states that yellow fever vaccines have been administered to 60 million children, "averting an estimated 160,000 future deaths." Pentavalent vaccines have already created widespread controversy by being linked to clusters of infant deaths in every Southeast and South Asian country where they have been introduced, including Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and India. Similarly, yellow fever vaccines have been linked to deaths as far back as 2001, when 7 people were found contracting yellow fever and dying from the vaccine itself.  The obvious question then emerges: Could both the pentavalent and yellow fever vaccines actually be increasing mortality despite GAVI's position that they are a life-saving intervention that presumably should be administered to every at risk child in the developing world?
What adds additional weight to this concern is that there is already a well-established history of DTP (and oral polio) vaccines being linked to increased morbidity and mortality in low-income countries, starting with this 2000 BMJ article also in a population of vaccinated infants from Guinea-Bissau that found recipients of one dose of DTP or polio vaccines had higher mortality than children who had received none of these vaccines. A 2011 study of Guinea-Bissau females found DTP vaccine administered simultaneously with measles vaccine is associated with increased morbidity and poor growth in girls.[iv] Clearly the vaccines can cause significant harm. Another far more recent study published this year in the journal Tropical Medicine and International Health found that DTP vaccination is responsible for higher mortality among Indian girls. Another 2005 study on vaccinated female infants in India found that those who receive both the tuberculosis vaccine Bacillus Calmette–Guérin (BCG) and DTP experience significantly higher mortality than those who receive only one of the two vaccines.[v]

Given the multitude of studies showing vaccine-induced harm, including increased infant mortality, especially for DTP vaccines, one wonders how global vaccination campaigns can blatantly promote them as infallibly effective and extremely safe.

Evidence That Vaccines Are Toxic Exposures

It has been hypothesized that this association with DTP vaccines and increased mortality may be due to the Th2-polarising effect of the aluminum phosphate adjuvant in the vaccine, as well as the chronic inflammation caused by the intramuscular administration of the vaccine at the site of injection, [vi] but another obvious explanation is that the vaccines themselves are toxic exposures, with the more vaccines given to infants the higher the likelihood of synergistic toxicity and resultant morbidity and mortality.
Exactly this possibility was raised by a 2011 study published in the journal Human and Experimental Toxicology titled, "Infant mortality rates regressed against number of vaccine doses routinely given: Is there a biochemical or synergistic toxicity?",[vii] which brought to the fore the fact that, "The infant mortality rate (IMR) is one of the most important indicators of the socio-economic well-being and public health conditions of a country.  The US childhood immunization schedule specifies 26 vaccine doses for infants aged less than 1 year-the most in the world-yet 33 nations have lower IMRs." The study found that there is a highly statistically significant correlation between increasing number of vaccine doses and increasing infant mortality rates.

Since the Fukushima fallout period occurred during the annual sea ice cover period from Nome to Barrow, a sea ice based fallout scenario in addition to a marine food web based one is of particular relevance for the Fukushima accident. Under a proposed sea ice fallout deposition scenario, radionuclides would have been settled onto sea ice. Sea ice and snow would have acted as a temporary refuge for deposited radionuclides; thus radionuclides would have only become available for migration during the melting season and would not have entered the regional food web in any appreciable manner until breakup (pulsed release). The cumulative on-ice exposure for ice seals would have occurred through external, inhalation, and non-equilibrium dietary pathwaysduring the ice-based seasonal spring haulout period for molting/pupping/breeding activities. Additionally, ice seals would have been under dietary/metabolic constraints and experiencing hormonal changes associated with reproduction and molting.

The work being done by Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute is good, but they fail to mention that Pacific seafood which has even small amounts of Fukushima signature radioactive cesium 134 and 137, although it may not constitute a high external dose, to which he erroneously compares it, it does become a concern when the microscopic hot particles are ingested or inhaled. Then the dose is concentrated near the cells the hot particle is irradiating. Unfortunately Woods Hole is still comparing apples and oranges - external vs. internal exposure.

* The half-life of the radionuclide discussed most often during this program, cesium-137, has a half-life of 30 years.  Meaning it will be at 95% of its initial strength after making the 3-year journey across the Pacific.
** The volume of the entire ocean is not relevant to dilution. Rather, the volume of water the nuclear contamination mixes with is the determining factor. If the contamination stays in relatively narrow corridor as it crosses the Pacific, as several models predict, the remainder of the ocean not in contact with the plume is irrelevant. 

KION, Jan. 9, 2014: [...] when the plume was supposed to hit, there were no functioning RADnet monitors on the Central Coast. Hirsch said the EPA was going to deploy portable monitors. But look at the posted email from the EPA to air quality districts that were to monitor the portables. This was obtained with a Freedom of Information Act request by [University of California Santa Cruz lecturer Dan Hirsch]. [...] “EPA HQ has decided at this time to not deploy the deployable RADNET monitors to CA, OR and WA.” So at the height of the emergency the central coast, the very spot where the radioactive plume was supposed to hit the EPA had no working monitors for the air quality in Monterey, Santa Cruz, San Luis Obispo or Santa Barbara counties. Why? [...] we really have no clue how much radiation was in the air on the central coast in the days and weeks after the Fukashima [sic] accident. Hirsch said we do know from a monitor in Bakersfield, before it broke in mid-march, that radioactive air quality was spiking. [...] I’ve made a call to the EPA for comment on this they’ve yet to respond. Hirsch can only speculate that the EPA was worried about public hysteria over this and chose to now [not?] deploy the monitors.

Results from a sample of ocean water collected near the coast of Santa Barbara County on on March 22. 2011 is now available on the newly published map at www.ourradioactiveocean.org. Test results found 14.7 Bq/m³ of cesium-134 and -137. Other samples taken further off-shore in the weeks that followed also found cesium-134, which is used as a ‘fingerprint’ for determining whether the contamination originated from Fukushima Daiichi.

    He said the agency found high levels of radiation in drinking water, and now was not the time to be pulling their efforts back.

    He also said the EPA’s monitoring program, RadNet, is unreliable and fails to cover large swaths of the West Coast. [...]

    According to Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility, the EPA has proposed raising their guideline radiation limits [...] According to Ruch, the new clean up standards are “thousands of times more lax than anything the EPA has ever before accepted.”

    Documents obtained by the watchdog group [PDF] via the Freedom of Information Act indicate the EPA made a decision to approve the revised guidelines months ago, but has yet to make a formal announcement.

By way of comparison, the Chernobyl nuclear disaster that occured in 1986 in the Ukraine, Russia- heretofore the worst nuclear disaster on record- burned for 10 days and cumulatively killed an estimated 1 million people worldwide. The Fukushima, Japan nuclear disaster has 5 nuclear reactors burning, 2 in partial meltdown and 3 in full meltdown- and they’ve ALL been uncontrollably burning since March 11th. Its been over 3 months and this nuclear disaster remains completely out of control. In fact, some industry estimates cite the possibility that these meltdowns will be contained (optimistically) in 1-3 years, at the very earliest.
The amount and intensity of the radioactive fallout from this particular nuclear disaster will assuredly kill hundreds of millions of people worldwide over time. Japan itself is, of course, the epicenter of this radioactive contamination that has spread out from these reactors.

At this point, the vast majority of people living in the northern hemisphere have been exposed to radioactive material from Fukushima.
We can’t see them, but radioactive particles can do an insane amount of damage.  We can breathe them in, we can eat them in our food and we can even absorb them through our skin.  Once trapped inside our bodies, these particles can slowly “bake” us for years and years.  The following is from an opinion piece by Helen Caldicott in the Guardian….

Internal radiation, on the other hand, emanates from radioactive elements which enter the body by inhalation, ingestion, or skin absorption. Hazardous radionuclides such as iodine-131, caesium 137, and other isotopes currently being released in the sea and air around Fukushima bio-concentrate at each step of various food chains (for example into algae, crustaceans, small fish, bigger fish, then humans; or soil, grass, cow’s meat and milk, then humans). [2] After they enter the body, these elements – called internal emitters – migrate to specific organs such as the thyroid, liver, bone, and brain, where they continuously irradiate small volumes of cells with high doses of alpha, beta and/or gamma radiation, and over many years, can induce uncontrolled cell replication – that is, cancer. Further, many of the nuclides remain radioactive in the environment for generations, and ultimately will cause increased incidences of cancer and genetic diseases over time.

According to the New York Times, the Japanese government is acknowledging that large areas around the Fukushima nuclear facility may be uninhabitable for decades….

Broad areas around the stricken Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant could soon be declared uninhabitable, perhaps for decades, after a government survey found radioactive contamination that far exceeded safe levels, several major media outlets said Monday.  
Once you absorb strontium, it will stay in your bones for the rest of your life.  Just consider what Dr. Russell Blaylock recently told Newsmax….

When we look at Chernobyl, most of West Germany was heavily contaminated. Norway, Sweden. Hungary was terribly contaminated. The radiation was taken up into the plants. The food was radioactive. They took the milk and turned it into cheese. The cheese was radioactive.
That’s the big danger, the crops in this country being contaminated, the milk in particular, with Strontium 90. That radiation is incorporated into the bones and stays for a lifetime.

Dr. Chris Busby recently traveled to Japan with some very sophisticated testing equipment and found one sample in Tokyo that had levels of radioactivity that were higher than the exclusion zone surrounding Chernobyl during that nuclear disaster.
But things are much worse for those living much closer to Fukushima.  High levels of cesium have been detected in the urine and in the breast milk of those living in the region surrounding the facility.  All over the area there are reports of people coming down with the symptoms of radiation sickness.

The truth is that the “evacuation area” should be far, far larger than it is now.  Remember, just because you cannot see these radioactive particles does not mean that they aren’t incredibly deadly.  Just check out what nuclear expert Steven C. Jones recently had to say about plutonium….

To give one an example of how lethal radiation is, one pound of plutonium evenly distributed into everyone’s lungs would kill every man, woman and child on Earth. There are literally “tons” of radioactive plutonium (among other radioactive elements) that have been released into the air and ocean environments since March 11th. Another critical fact to remember is that radioactive plutonium, for example, remains lethal (killing life) for thousands years as it has a half-life of 24,000 years. Some other radioactive elements such as uranium have a half-life of 4.47 billion years.

That is the scary thing with many of these radioactive elements.  Now that they have been released, many of them will be with us for as long as we live, for as long as our children live and for as long as our grandchildren live.
Yes, things are much worse than you have been told.  

ALSO BACK IN 2011, April 6, 2011 , HEADLINES in the Los Angeles Times reported just 1 month after the tsunami, that the seawater near Fukushima has been found to be incredibly radioactive….

Tokyo Electric Power Co. had said Tuesday that it had found iodine-131 at 7.5 million times the legal limit in a seawater sample taken near the facility, and government officials instituted a health limit for radioactivity in fish. Other samples were found to contain radioactive cesium at 1.1 million times the legal limit.

Just because the mainstream media is not talking much about all of this radiation does not mean that it is not affecting the United States….

*Radiation from Fukushima has been detected in the drinking water in numerous states.
*Radiation from Fukushima has been discovered in milk in numerous states.
*Very high levels of radiation continue to be detected in rainwater in the northwest United States.
This is a slow motion nightmare that is going to play out for years and years.
Some nuclear experts claim that it could be up to 50 or 100 years before any of the nuclear material at the Fukushima complex will cool down enough to be removed from the facility.  

Now, nearly three years later, the most pressing worry is the spent nuclear fuel rods, which are still precariously stored in a pool above the damaged and unstable Reactor 4. McNeill said there are thousands of nuclear fuel rods in Reactor 4, which must be extracted one by one. Last month TEPCO began the delicate, and dangerous, yearlong task of transferring those fuel rods — more than 1,300 in all, amounting to some 400 tons of uranium — to a safer location. Some experts have pointed out the serious risks of this process, Journalist David McNeill, who has been covering Japan since 2000, said.
“For example, if there was another earthquake, another major earthquake, it could trigger another radioactive disaster,” he said.
But the real headache comes from the hundreds of tons of melted radioactive fuel in Reactors 1, 2 and 3. McNeill said that TEPCO only has “the vaguest idea” of where the molten fuel sits, and a constant flow of water is necessary to keep the molten uranium from heating up. TEPCO has built thousands of tanks to store the daily flood of contaminated water, but it is running out of space.

"Further analysis of data collected from monitors around the state operated by the Department of Health Services showed detections of the radioactive isotope iodine-131, an element that is a product of a nuclear reaction, such as in a nuclear power plant. Schmidt said measurements of iodine-131 (were) in the air from seven monitors around the state."
"Michael Corradini, a UW-Madison professor of engineering physics and an expert on nuclear energy was not surprised that radioactive particles from the Japanese disaster may be finding their way to America and to Wisconsin. He said a particle such as iodine will attach to other particles, including dust, and get lofted into the atmosphere. "It gets diluted but because it is an element it doesn't go away," Corradini said. "The winds take it and at certain elevations, it can be carried long distances."
Schmidt said the increases in radiation in Wisconsin and other states are being attributed to the Japanese plant because isotopes such as iodine-131 don't occur naturally and only show up after reactor breakdowns. He added that, even though the levels of such elements are miniscule and not dangerous, the department will continue monitoring for the presence of radioactive elements in everything from groundwater to milk.

Arkansas gets radioactive sleet and snow but no warnings

The sleet and snow that fell on January 15 2013 in White County Arkansas was not normal. Background levels in this area are 35cpm. The sleet and snow was showing an alert level above 100cpm.

This kind of exposure can reduce the immune system and may be the cause for recent spikes in flu and illness in this area and others. We can only assume because the event was short lived is why they are not warning parents to keep there children out of this unsafe wintery mix. Not creating panic or concern seems to be more important than public safety.

target 13 Investigates reviewed 21,027 water tests from across the state, and found radiation that can cause cancer is widespread in the groundwater.

In your drinking water the Environment Protection Agency allows a Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) of 5 Picocuries per liter (pCi/L) for radium. 15 pCi/L for Gross Alpha, and 30 Microgram per liter (ug/l).
Bottom line, that's how many radionuclides, that emit radiation, the government allows in your tap water. You should know the EPA's Maximum Contaminant Level Goal (MCLG) is zero for those contaminants, because radionuclides are not considered safe when they get inside your body.
The EPA website states the MCL is set "using the best available treatment technology and taking cost into consideration."
"We know these things can cause cancer when in contact with human cells," explained Dr. John Spear, a professor at the Colorado School of Mines who's studied radionuclides for 20 years.

Last month, the ruling Japanese coalition parties quickly rammed through Parliament a state secrets law. We Americans better take notice.
Under its provisions the government alone decides what are state secrets and any civil servants who divulge any “secrets” can be jailed for up to 10 years. Journalists caught in the web of this vaguely defined law can be jailed for up to 5 years.
Government officials have been upset at the constant disclosures of their laxity by regulatory officials before and after the Fukushima nuclear power disaster in 2011, operated by Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO).

...the contaminated water flow, the inaccessible radioactive material deep inside these reactors and the need to stop these leaking sites from further poisoning the land, food and ocean. Officials now estimate that it could take up to 40 years to clean up and decommission the reactors.

Draconian secrecy in government and fast-tracking bills through legislative bodies are bad omens for freedom of the Japanese press and freedom to dissent by the Japanese people. Freedom of information and robust debate (the latter cut off sharply by Japan’s parliament in December 5, 2013) are the currencies of democracy.
There is good reason why the New York Times continues to cover the deteriorating conditions in the desolate, evacuated Fukushima area. Our country has licensed many reactors here with the same designs and many of the same inadequate safety and inspection standards. Some reactors here are near earthquake faults with surrounding populations which cannot be safely evacuated in case of serious damage to the electric plant. The two Indian Point reactors that are 30 miles north of New York City are a case in point.
The less we are able to know about the past and present conditions of Fukushima, the less we will learn about atomic reactors in our own country.
Fortunately many of Japan’s most famous scientists, including Nobel laureates, Toshihide Maskawa and Hideki Shirakawa, have led the opposition against this new state secrecy legislation with 3,000 academics signing a public letter of protest. These scientists and academics declared the government’s secrecy law a threat to “the pacifist principles and fundamental human rights established by the constitution and should be rejected immediately.”

Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) measured the amount of beta ray-emitting radioactivity at more than 2.7 million becquerels per liter, Fukushima’s operator said as reported in Japanese media. The measurements were taken on Thursday.
There has been a spike of radiation in this area since the beginning of the year. The measurements taken on Monday showed 2.4 million Bq/l, while the results taken on January 9 indicated the amount of beta rays at 2.2 million Bq/l, according to TEPCO’s Friday announcement.

Strontium-90 is a radioactive isotope of strontium produced by nuclear fission with a half-life of 28.8 years. The legal standard for strontium emissions is 30 becquerels per liter.

<<The tsunami that hit the coast of Japan on March 11, 2011 caused the worst nuclear disaster since Chernobyl. In the days following the tsunami, reactors within the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant exploded and leaked radiation into the environment. The United States announced a relief effort led by the Navy – Operation Tomodachi – in which 70,000 Department of Defense-affiliated personnel contributed to providing humanitarian aid to those affected.
Now, three years later, some Navy personnel say they’re experiencing mysterious symptoms, including hemorrhaging and cancer. In some cases, their doctors can’t provide diagnoses and therefore cannot determine if the illnesses are radiation-related. Convinced their illnesses were caused by radiation exposure, 71 of these sailors are banding together in a lawsuit against the Tokyo Electric Power Company – or TEPCO – which operates the Fukushima power plant.
The U.S. government released a statement denying that radiation has caused these illnesses:

“After extensive environmental monitoring and analysis, it has been determined that none of the nearly 70,000 members of the [Department of Defense]-affiliated population … are known to have been exposed to radiation at levels associated with adverse medical conditions.” >>
