<< the Treasury economists have another important finding: The sooner we get rid of the tax cuts, the better it will be for the economy. Specifically, they found that national output would be 0.9 percent higher in the long run if we let them expire in 2010 rather than allowing them to continue along, forcing us to face even bigger tax increases in the future to make up for all of the added deficits and debt.

Washington (CNN) - House Majority Leader ERIC CANTOR flatly rejected holding a vote on the jobs bill by the end of the month, saying Monday the full bill, called the "American Jobs Act," won't get a vote in the House of Representatives.
Instead Cantor announced the House will take up several measures this month that he believes House Republicans  agree on, including the three pending free trade agreements with Korea, Colombia, and Panama.The Majority Leader also said the House would vote on a bill to permanently repeal the 3% withholding tax on businesses that hold government contracts and take up other bills that roll back regulatory barriers for businesses.

BUSH CUT TAXES AND WE HIT SKID-ROW!

Let's make, based on that, what should be an obvious assertion: raising taxes (or, more accurately, letting tax cuts expire as they were designed) on the top 2% not only will NOT reduce economic growth, it will spur it!
IT WILL SPUR ECONOMIC GROWTH! 
Capital flows will increase into the US, because, unlike for the past 12 years,  it will be perceived as a safer haven.
AMERICA WILL BE BRINGING IN MORE REVENUE FROM THE UPPER 2% OF TAX-PAYERS, THOSE PAYING LESS THAN ENOUGH NOW!

Now let's make another prediction: the wealthy will get even wealthier, there will be more of them, even after paying higher taxes!
Raising taxes on the top 2% WOULD show domestic and world markets that the U.S. is serious about its long-term deficit problems, and is capable of making tough choices.
The evidence?
JUST GO LOOK AT THE FACTUAL DATA!
It worked for Ronald Reagan. It worked for Bill Clinton. Together, following their tax increases, nearly 40 MILLION new jobs were created. Bill Clinton even generated budget surpluses! WE HAD A SURPLUS GOING INTO 2001!!!
WHAT HAPPENED NEXT? TAX-CUTS FOR THE WEALTHY!
So why won't the vast MAJORITY of Americans agree to and DEMAND a tax-hike for their BOSSES, for the OWNERS, the CEOs, the SHAREHOLDERS of industry?
THEY ARE SCARED OUT OF THEIR MINDS THEY'LL LOSE THEIR JOBS!
WHY?
WELL, LOOK AT WHAT INDUSTRY AND THE REPUBLICANS RECENTLY SAID ABOUT INCREASING MINIMUM WAGE! THEY SAID,"NO WAY! NO WAY!"
IN ACTUALITY, THEIR MESSAGE TO WORKERS WAS, "IF YOU FORCE US TO PAY YOU HALF OF WHAT YOU'RE WORTH (A LOUSY $9.00 AN HOUR!), WE'LL FIRE YOU ON DAY ONE! ON DAY 2 OR MAYBE DAY 100, WE MAY OFFER TO HIRE YOU BACK FOR $7.25 AN HOUR, NO BENEFITS, NO RETIREMENT FUNDS, NO OVERTIME PAY, A 7-DAY WORK WEEK, AND YOU WILL KISS OUR BUTTS TO GET IT!"

"OHHHHHH, NOOOO! WE CAN'T LET THAT HAPPEN!" TERRIFIED AMERICANS CRY.
YES, YES, WE CAN, AND IF THEY FIRE YOU, YOU CAN BET SMALL BUSINESSES WILL CROP US AS THEY DID BEFORE DURING BETTER TIMES THAT WILL REPLACE THE POWER-MAD GREEDY SO-AND-SOS, THAT WILL PAY $9.00 AN HOUR, AND OUR ECONOMY WILL EVENTUALLY RECOVER!

FEAR HAS KEPT AMERICANS SILENT AND WILLING SHEEP TO THESE WOLVES FOR OVER A CENTURY!
GROW A SET, PEOPLE!
JUST TELL THEM THEY'RE FIRED! AND MEAN IT! PUT FEAR IN THEIR MAKE-BELIEVE HEARTS FOR A CHANGE!

WILL the scary 4.6% tax increase on the upper 2% be THE  solution to our economic problems?
Of course not, NO ONE THING WILL FIX THIS, but, it will help, and the unquestioning acceptance of the REPUBLICAN/WALL STREET lunatic principle that it will hurt will make it a hard path to take.
WE MUST TAKE THAT PATH!
It took 30 years of ON/OFF very popular tax cuts to create this debt, and it will take tax increases to pay it off.

Under Reagan and Clinton, the recessions were accompanied by growing deficits as well, same as now, and they both faced the wrath of the elite, same as now, but they did it! Moreover, Republicans' resistance to any tax increase, for any purpose, at any time, sent and still sends a message of infantile, pouting irresponsibility to the global markets.
Other nations DO watch what our Congress does, and they base their investments largely on that.
WHAT DO THEY THINK WHEN THEY SEE REPUBLICANS STAMP THEIR FEET AND THROW TANTRUMS OVER FISCALLY SOUND MOVES, JUST LIKE REAGAN AND CLINTON MADE (briefly, anyway)?

In 1982, at the same point in his Presidency as President Obama was in 2010, but ALSO while jobs were still hemorrhaging and unemployment still rising in a recession, Ronald Reagan enacted the LARGEST TAX INCREASE IN AMERICAN HISTORY--$100 BILLION additional taxes were collected from individuals and businesses by the Treasury. By January, 1983, Reagan's approval rating was down to 35%. DID YOU FORGET THAT? REAGAN ...LARGEST TAX-HIKE IN HISTORY!

Because this was "SAINT Ronald", and not a Democrat in the White House, there were no chicken-littles like "Boner" and the others screaming now, predicting the tax hike guaranteed the sky would fall, end all of civilization, nor did REPUBLICANS argue THEN that "people know how to spend their money better than the government" (true, of course, for some expenditures, not for others).
LESS than one year later, the economy began to emerge from its recession, job losses stopped, and unemployment began to recede. Nearly 17 million new jobs were created by the end of Reagan's term.
Incidentally, Reagan raised taxes several more times during his tenure.
RAISING TAXES ON THE RICH HELPED, DON'T YOU SEE THAT?

LET'S RECAP:
Clinton, in 1993, signed the NEXT largest tax increase in American history, and on top of George 'HW' Bush's a couple of years earlier. Yes, DADDY BUSH ALSO RAISED TAXES, REMEMBER? Just not so much on his rich pals. BUSH1 ALSO did so in the midst of a recession, but this was another REPUBLICAN, so NO REPUBLICANS SAID SHAME ON REAGAN OR HW BUSH!  WONDER WHY?
After HW's tax increase, the GDP began to rebound just as Bill Clinton took office, promising to focus like a laser on "the economy, stupid". After Clinton's 1993 tax increase on the wealthy, job growth began, and by the end of Clinton's term 23 MILLION new jobs had been created. Twenty-three million new jobs!!!
17 MILLION NEW JOBS (Reagan) + 23 MILLION NEW JOBS (Clinton) = 40 MILLION NEW JOBS AFTER TWO HISTORICALLY HIGH TAX-HIKES! HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN THAT? HOW COULD YOU?
 CLINTON'S DECISION TO INCREASE TAXES CREATED 23 MILLION NEW JOBS...COMPARE THAT TO 8 MILLION LOST JOBS AFTER BUSH2 CUT TAXES ON HIS WEALTHY PALS! GO LOOK UP THE STATS! IT'S IN PLAIN SIGHT! BUSH TAX CUTS COST AMERICA 8 MILLION JOBS! AND OUR ENTIRE ECONOMY BEGAN TO TANK, BUT WAR IS EXPENSIVE...AND MORE WAR...AND SOME MORE WAR...

And what happened when the sky did NOT fall after tax-hikes in the midst of recession those OTHER times?
DID ANYBODY ON WALL STREET ADMIT THEY'D SCREWED UP AND SOMETHING GOOD CAME OUT OF THOSE TAX-HIKES? DID THE REPUBLICANS CHANGE THEIR WHINE?
NO!
The very same people who NOW whine and carp against raising taxes on the wealthy at evening soirees to raise money for their pet anti-tax know-nothing LYING legislators ( i.e., puppets) , sauntered into their well-appointed offices during the days of boom, took full advantage of the improved market behavior they assured us would deteriorate the night before, laughed,  AND COUNTED ALL THAT NEW MONEY all the way to the bank!
THOSE SAME PROFITEERS WILL DO THE SAME THE NEXT TIME TAXES INCREASE! THEY JUST DON'T WANT TO PAY YOU HIGHER WAGES, AND THEY DON'T WANT TO REDUCE ANY DEFICIT BUT THEIR OWN, ON THEIR RICH CONTRIBUTORS!

Despite the inevitable moaning and groaning and predictions of doom, and the guaranteed apoplexy of INDUSTRIALISTS, "SURE FAILURE OF THE ECONOMY" sold to America by Republicans and the likes of The Wall Street Journal, it is 99% likely that the stock market will rally when the news of a tax-hike becomes sufficiently certain,
JUST LIKE WHEN REAGAN AND CLINTON RAISED TAXES! 

Do watch closely in the next few months as  these very same Wall Street "pundits" (who, by the way, got it all WRONG prior to the 2008 crash, but that does not shake their certainty), many of whom are practicing money-managers, "vote" quite differently with their, and their clients', dollars.

If they acted as they SAY they believe, the Dow would go belly-up and stay there!
Then, grinning over their new-found wealth, the lords of industry and their butt-kissers will set up a NEW howl for tax relief...and the Republicans will bow and scrape and "Yes, BOSS" the scoundrels and start the hammering and yammering all over again!
AND AMERICA WILL FORGET AGAIN, LIKE IT HAS BEFORE, THAT RAISING TAXES IS GOOD FOR OUT-OF-WORK PEOPLE, BECAUSE IT CREATES NEW JOBS, IT CREATES FEDERAL INCOME, IT REDUCES OUR DEFICIT, AND EVERYTHING RECOVERS, EVEN WEEDING OUT SOME OF THE MORE SHADY CORPORATIONS ALONG THE WAY, MAKING ROOM FOR BETTER ONES!

Can you finally start, just maybe START questioning whether the "you-can't-raise-taxes-in-a-recession" mantra THE REPUBLICANS AND WALL STREET chant might be just a bit 'overstated'?

I remember the name, 'Operation Keelhaul', from my youth. 
It was whispered mostly, but those opposed to Eisenhower becoming President (which included MANY Republicans, but not enough) used it and the 'Morgenthau Plan' among themselves like swear words. 
I was young and thought little of politics. 
I should have listened more closely.

Operation Keelhaul was carried out in Northern Italy by British and American forces to "repatriate" Soviet Armed Forces POWs of the Nazis to the Soviet Union between August 14, 1946 and May 9, 1947.  

The term has been later applied to other Allied acts of often forced repatriation of former residents of the USSR after the ending of World War II .
'Repatriation' is used instead of the more honest phrase, "handed them over to be killed".

It sealed the fate of millions of post-war refugees fleeing eastern Europe.

Not only were America and Great Britain guilty of driving millions of Russian and Russian 'bloc' citizens and troops to their deaths, AMERICA KNOWINGLY AND WILLINGLY ABANDONED AT LEAST 20,000 OF HER OWN TROOPS TO RUSSIAN  PRISON CAMPS, AND GREAT BRITAIN LEFT AT LEAST 30,000 OF HERS TO DIE THERE AS WELL, EACH KNOWING WHERE THOSE GOOD MEN, THEIR OWN BRAVE TROOPS WERE, NEITHER NATION WILLING TO RESCUE THEM BY FORCE.

KEEP IN MIND ALWAYS THAT NEITHER THE U.S. NOR UK ATTEMPTED TO RESCUE THEM OR EVEN MAKE THEIR PLIGHTS KNOWN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC.

70 YEARS LATER THEY ARE STILL TRYING TO KEEP THIS QUIET, 70 YEARS! 

I WRITE THIS IN MEMORY OF ALL, FROM EVERY NATION, WHO WERE BETRAYED, WHO WERE DESTROYED IN THE PRIME OF THEIR LIVES BY EACH NATION'S MAD MEN WHO SENT THEM TO THEIR GRAVES AND TRIED TO ERASE THEIR LIVES FROM HISTORY.

I AM AN AMERICAN CITIZEN, MY ANCESTORS WERE ON THESE SHORES WHEN THE EUROPEANS FIRST LANDED HERE, HAD BEEN HERE SINCE TIME BEGAN, AND I TELL YOU ALL, THIS IS PART OF AMERICA'S TRUTH, TO THE SHAME OF ALL WHO TOOK PART IN IT.

I DO NOT DENY IT, NOR DO I IN ANY WAY CONDONE IT, BUT AMERICA DID THIS.   

In 1945, General Dwight Eisenhower ordered that "Operation Keelhaul" be put into effect. This involved rounding up and shipping back to "their countries of origin" ALL the refugees fleeing communism: men, women and children, soldier or civilian, male or female, even though many of them had been fighting on OUR side during the war.

Since all of Eastern Europe was then under Communist domination, sending these people back was, quite literally, a sentence of death, some by immediate execution and the rest by slow extermination from overwork and malnutrition in the Soviet slave labor camps in Siberia.

These people were rounded up at bayonet point, forced into freight cars and shipped off to a terrible fate. 

There was no accurate count kept but the MINIMUM figure was 2,000,000 people and a maximum has been set at 5,000,000.  

The true numbers may never be known, NEVER! 

The elimination of all these anti-Communist people made the Communist domination of Eastern Europe MUCH easier. 
And the American people were kept blissfully unaware of this action which Eisenhower enforced rigidly, even though it violated international law, the laws of his own country and laws of humanity.  

Germans were prosecuted at Nuremberg for similar crimes but control of the news ensured that Eisenhower, and those under his command who took part in this outrage, the British counterparts, the Russians, NONE were ever even officially accused of these heinous crimes!
This entire "operation" was rolled up and tucked away by each government involved, perhaps for all time.

The ALLIES ruthlessly carried out 'Operation Keelhaul', deporting innocent refugees from eastern Europe into Stalin's clutches. 

The Russian troops often machine-gunned these people as they arrived in Soviet territory, sometimes while still on the trains. 
Many were hanged immediately in the forests where they were handed over.

Most of these people were nothing more than White Christian refugees, who didn't want to live in nations of Stalinist tyranny.

This entire abomination was filled with brutal acts of horror.

Let there be no ambivalence in our conclusions...IT WAS AN ATROCITY.

U.S. and British GOVERNMENT AND MILITARY leaders were guilty of war crimes.
ALLIED soldiers shot innocent men trying to escape as they were being forcibly repatriated.
ALLIED soldiers used clubs to beat hundreds of men senseless, then dragged them onto trucks and ships.

ONE PARTICULAR GROUP OF OVER 2,000 COSSACK TROOPS, "2,749 — 2,201 of whom were officers — were driven straight into a prison camp and were advised by British officials that Soviet authorities would soon arrive to pick them up."

As Julius Epstein wrote of the Cossacks in British hands:

One Cossack officer remarked: “The NKVD or the Gestapo would have slain us with truncheons, the British did it with their word of honor.”
The first to commit suicide by hanging was the Cossack editor Evgenij Tarruski. The second was General Silkin who shot himself. . . . The Cossacks refused to board [the trucks]. British soldiers with pistols and clubs began using their clubs, aiming at the heads of the prisoners. They first dragged the men out of the crowd and threw them into the trucks. The men jumped out. They beat them again and threw them onto the floor of the trucks. Again, they jumped out. The British then hit them with rifle butts until they lay unconscious and threw them like sacks of potatoes in the trucks."

In other instances along that awful route, if any group tried to disable a Russian ship, Americans would go aboard, subdue the resisters and make the repairs to those death ships' engines.

Americans and British leaders have the blood of hundreds on their hands who committed suicide rather than be sent back, as well as of all those who were murdered by Soviet military or eventually died in Stalin's abominable work camps.

THESE WERE CRIMINAL ACTS, AS BAD AS GERMANY'S RULERS AND MILITARY HAD BEEN CONVICTED OF.
BUT THIS HAS BEEN HIDDEN, COVERED UP FOR 70 LONG YEARS! 
NO ONE HAS BEEN TRIED, NOT ONE! 

The American, British and Russian soldiers and officers should have ALL refused to follow orders, JUST AS WE SO OFTEN SAY OF GERMANY'S TROOPS WHO CARRIED OUT THEIR ORDERS.

Only a handful did and they were treated with severe threats and/or punishments.
A few servicemen allowed prisoners to escape, having pity on them.
But, by iand large, American and British servicemen were no more moral or courageous in standing up against evil military orders than their German and Russian counterparts.

THE COSSACK'S END
Let us begin with one man's tale, or the story of him and his men.

Andrey Vlasov was a Russian general who had served in the army since the Russian Revolution.
He had fought hard and valiantly in the successful defense of Moscow.

It was only because of Stalin's refusal to permit Vlasov and his men to retreat during the subsequent battle at Leningrad that the German forces had defeated and captured Vlasov. He and his men had been captured and It was difficult for Hitler to believe that Vlasov was so willing to lead captured Russian soldiers against Stalin and his communist regime.

So, it was not until the very end of the war — January 1945 — that Hitler finally relented and permitted Vlasov to lead Russian POWs into battle against the Russian army.

But by this time, Germany was close to defeat. The forces under Vlasov's command, some 50,000 Russian soldiers, were doomed to be recaptured by the Allies.
Soon after these men rejoined the battle, on May 7, 1945, Germany capitulated.

Vlasov knew that Stalin was not a forgiving man.
After his capture by Germany, Vlasov had openly defied the communists and communism. He had tried to arouse the Russian people to revolt against their communist tyrants.
Vlasov knew that capture by the communists now meant certain death for him and his men.

Andrey Vlasov chose to surrender to American forces.
He did not know that Franklin D. Roosevelt, Harry S. Truman, Winston Churchill, and Joseph Stalin had already sealed his fate.
He did not know that these four rulers of the Allied powers had already committed themselves to one of the worst holocausts in history.
He did not know that evil pervaded not only the Nazi and communist regimes, but the American and British regimes, as well.
He put his hope in America...and was BETRAYED!

U.S. military leaders expressly guaranteed that Gen. Vlasov and his men would NEVER be turned back over to the Soviets.
But under General Eisenhower, in consultation with the State Department, the US went back on their 'word of honor'.

Headquarters refused to designate them POWs or give them asylum, and eventually turned them over to the Russians.
All their military leaders were shot or hanged. 
The rest went to Soviet labor camps.
Some committed suicide before falling into Russian hands, knowing of their fate.

Yes, American military officials delivered Andrey Vlasov to Soviet military authorities.

On August 2, 1946, the Soviet press reported that Andrey Vlasov had been hanged by Soviet officials for "treason as well as active espionage and terrorist activity against the Soviet Union."

WHY? 
HOW COULD THE U.S. DO SUCH A THING TO MEN WHO HAD FOUGHT ON THE SIDE OF THE ALLIES? 

Part of the Yalta Agreement between the Big Three — Stalin, Roosevelt, and Churchill — involved the repatriation of Russians and Americans to their respective homelands.

Keep in mind that the German POW camps contained American prisoners, British prisoners, and Russian prisoners. 

The Big Three agreed that as the Russians liberated Germany POW camps, American and British POWs would be turned over to the American and British forces.

As the Americans and British liberated German POW camps, Russian POWs would be returned to Russia.

There was one big problem with this agreement — a problem that each of the Big Three was WELL aware of.
American and British POWs WANTED to return to their own forces.
Russian POWs did NOT want to return to Russian forces because they knew the fate that awaited them.

Stalin wanted revenge.
The Russian prisoners were traitors to communism.
They deserved to die.

And Roosevelt and Churchill felt the exact same way. 
Russia was "our friend." Stalin was "Uncle Joe" to the American PRESIDENT (FDR).  Any Russian who had defied Uncle Joe — any Russian who had opposed "our communist friends and allies" — deserved to be executed. 

The revenge and ensuing holocaust had to be kept secret from the world. 
The American and British people HAD TO BE TRICKED INTO maintaining the illusion that this was a war of good versus evil — that only the Nazis engaged in cold-blooded murder — that the Allies epitomized all the goodness of mankind.

THIS WAS NOT TRUE!

Therefore, the Big Three spelled out their plans not just in the official Yalta agreement but, also, in a March 31, 1945, secret codicil to the agreement.

As James Sanders, Mark Sauter, and R. Cort Kirkwood point out in their shocking book, Soldiers of Misfortune (1992), the codicil was kept secret from the American and British people for fifty years .
The codicil outlined the secret plan by which the Russians POWs would be forcibly returned to Stalin's clutches.

One may wonder why American government officials called their part in the holocaust "Operation Keelhaul".
In his book 'Operation Keelhaul' (1973), Julius Epstein [ (1901–1975) a journalist and scholar, an Austrian Jewish émigré who fled Europe in 1938, worked during World War II in the Office of War Information, TELLS US.

[ Epstein was the grandson of the famous composer, Johann Strauss II.
HE WAS NOT THE AMERICAN SCREENWRITER OF THE SAME NAME.
Epstein was one of the prime researchers for the belated Congressional investigation of the State Department’s cover-up of Russian involvement in the Katyn Forest murders. While searching through military archives during his investigation, he discovered evidence of the top secret Operation Keelhaul, and perhaps is one of a very few who may have seen more than we ever will. be allowed to see.]

Epstein described the meaning of the term:

"'To keelhaul is the cruelest and most dangerous of punishments and tortures ever devised for men aboard a ship. It involves trussing a man up with ropes, throwing him overboard, unable to swim, and hauling him under the boat's keel from one side to the other, or even from stem to stern. Most of those keelhauled under water are already dead when their punishment is over.'"

And Epstein describes his reaction to the choice of this term by American government officials to describe their part in the Allied holocaust:

 "'That our Armed Forces should have adopted this term as its code name for deporting by brutal force to concentration camp, firing squad, or hangman's noose millions who were already in the lands of freedom, shows how little the high brass thought of their longing to be free.'"

The roles played by each of the conspirators was clear:
Roosevelt and Churchill would force the Russian anti-communists into Stalin's hands.
The communists would take over from there and do the actual killing.

HOW MANY WERE TURNED OVER TO THE RUSSIANS BY AMERICAN AND BRITISH FORCES? 
TWO MILLION SOULS!!! 
AT LEAST TWO MILLION WHO THOUGHT THEY HAD BEEN SAVED AND COULD GO FREE! 

Yes, two million Russian people sent back to the communists where they were either immediately executed or sent to die in Gulags!    

EXPENDABLE
Naturally and sadly, there was panic in the camps when the inmates realized what was going on, as they saw there would be no freedom for them.
How can we ever imagine what hell they went through,  unable to escape their fate and with no one to help them!
The British lied to some that they were to be taken to Italy, or some other safe haven, but if the subterfuge didn't work they used rifle butts and bayonets as prods.

Some refugees committed suicide by sawing their throats with the barbed wire that imprisoned them. 
Mothers are known to have thrown their babies from trains into the river to save them from slow starvation or the nightmare of a Russian prison camp. 

To its credit ONE British regiment, the LONDON IRISH, refused to take part in this holocaust! 
They went to war to fight German soldiers, they said, not to club refugee women and children. 
If only ALL had been as brave as these few!

In the West, the arrest, detention and deliberate deportation of millions to Soviet Russia is virtually unknown.

Censoring history by way of libel actions is unfortunately the method the rich and well-connected use against their pesky critics.

The Russian historian, author, and  former parliamentary candidate of the United Kingdom Independence Party, NIKOLAI TOLSTOY (Count Nikolai Dmitrievich Tolstoy-Miloslavsky) has been severely outspoken in his criticism of especially the British government for its part in this hidden holocaust since he became aware of it , and there have been many attempts to shut him up!

In 1989, Lord Aldington (Toby Austin Richard William Low, 1st Baron Aldington), previously a British officer, former Chairman of the Conservative Party, and then Chairman of Sun Alliance, an insurance company, commenced a libel action over allegations of war crimes made by Tolstoy in a pamphlet distributed by Nigel Watts, a man involved with Sun Alliance on an unrelated insurance matter.

Although Tolstoy was not the initial target of the action, he felt honor-bound to join Watts as defendant. He lost and was ordered to pay £2 million (£1.5 million in damages and £0.5 million in costs).  

At the libel trial, Lord Aldington agreed that the refugees' fate was "ghastly" but said he had not known that many faced execution if returned to their homelands. (The Washington Post, December 9, 2000)
WASN'T HE A LIAR?

HOW DARE ALDINGTON PROFIT FROM HIS ORDER TO SEND SO MANY TO THEIR DEATH?

HOW COULD A HUMAN BEING DARE DO THIS?

In his books, Tolstoy argued that refugees not covered by the Yalta agreement --  émigré   (migrant) Russians and royalist Yugoslavs -- were forcibly repatriated because Harold Macmillan, "minister resident" in the Mediterranean and later prime minister, wanted to advance his political career by appeasing Stalin.

"As a British army officer in Austria at the end of World War II, Lord Aldington — then known by his given name, Toby Low — oversaw the repatriation of thousands of Cossack and Yugoslav refugees.

Many were subsequently killed or interned in prison camps."

He persuaded a British general whose 5th Army Corps occupied southern and eastern Austria to IGNORE a Foreign Office telegram ordering that "any person who is not (repeat not) a Soviet citizen under British law must not (repeat not) be sent back to the Soviet Union unless he expressly desires."  

HOW MANY DID THIS ALLEGED ORDER KILL?
THE WORLD MAY NEVER KNOW!

Tolstoy had written several books (Victims of Yalta in 1977, Stalin's Secret War in 1981, The Minister and the Massacres in 1986) about the alleged complicity of British politicians and officers with Joseph Stalin's forces in the murder of White Russian exiles from Soviet Rule, Cossacks, Croatian para-military and civilian fugitives from Tito, as well as 11,000 Slovenian anticommunist fighters.

Tolstoy described the scene of Americans returning to the internment camp after having delivered a shipment of people to the Russians:

        "'The Americans returned to Plattling (a town in Bavaria, Germany where an internment camp was located after World War II) visibly shamefaced. 

Before their departure from the rendezvous in the forest, many had seen rows of bodies already hanging from the branches of nearby trees. 
On their return, even the German SS men in a neighboring compound lined the wire fence and railed at them for their behavior. 
The Americans were too ashamed to reply.'"

ALEKSANDR SOLZHENITSYN, the acclaimed Russian writer and political prisoner, called Operation Keelhaul "the last secret of World War II".
He contributed to a legal defense fund set up to help Nikolai Tolstoy in the 1989 libel case mentioned above.
Tolstoy lost the case in the British courts but the verdict was overturned by the European Court of Human Rights.

The first records were unsealed on 9/10/2012 admitting U.S. knowledge of the infamous Katyn Massacre, and the American assistance in the Soviet denial of said atrocities.

<<In April 1943, in the Katyn Forest near Smolensk in the Soviet Union, occupying German troops discovered eight large graves containing the remains of thousands of the Polish Army officers and intellectual leaders who had been interned at the prisoner-of-war camp at Kozielsk.
Bodies of the prisoners who had been housed at Ostashkov and Starobielsk were discovered near Piatykhatky and Mednoye, respectively.
Collectively, these murders are known as the Katyn Forest Massacre...

The official American response at the time was one of non-involvement. BUT...In a June 1943 telegram to Churchill, Roosevelt expressed approval that the British approach to Stalin was grounded "upon the obvious necessity of creating the most favorable conditions for bringing the full weight of the armed forces of all the United Nations to bear upon the common enemy....The winning of the war is the paramount objective for all of us. For this unity is necessary."  

UNITY ??? 
AS IN MUTUAL COMPLICITY IN ALLIED WAR CRIMES!

Later, on September 18, 1951, the United States House of Representatives established the Select Committee to Conduct an Investigation and Study of the Facts, Evidence, and Circumstances of the Katyn Forest Massacre, known as the Madden Committee after its chairman, Rep. Ray J. Madden of Indiana.

The committee assembled records relating to the massacre and its aftermath, including records from the files of the State and War Departments, in addition to hearing extensive witness testimony.
Their purpose [they lied] was to determine which nation was responsible for the atrocities and whether any American officials had engaged in covering up the massacre.

The Madden Committee determined unanimously that the Soviet People's Commissariat for Internal Affairs, or NKVD was responsible for the executions, and recommended a trial before the International World Court of Justice. 

The question of an American cover-up was less clear cut. 
[READ THAT AS NO ONE WANTED TO ADMIT THE USA WAS COMPLICIT IN THIS HOLOCAUST!] 

In its final report, the committee concluded that American officials failed to properly evaluate and act upon clear danger signals in Russian behavior evident as early as 1942. >>

THAT IS A LIE! 
EISENHOWER KNEW DAMNED WELL WHAT HE WAS DOING.
AND THAT DOES NOT ADDRESS WHY AMERICA AND BRITAIN GAVE UP OVER 50,000 OF THEIR OWN TO SOVIET GULAGS, TO CERTAIN DEATH, AND THEN TRIED TO HIDE THE FACT THAT THEY DID!  

OUR NEWSPAPERS NEVER CARRIED THIS NEWS OF 20,000 AMERICAN TROOPS THAT WERE NEVER RESCUED FROM RUSSIAN PRISONS, THAT WERE ALLOWED TO BE TAKEN AND KEPT UNTIL MOST SIMPLY DIED WONDERING WHERE RESCUE WAS!

THINGS FALL APART FOR OUR TROOPS WHO FELL INTO RUSSIAN HANDS...

"Major Vasilli Vershenko stated to an interpreter, with regard to the repatriation of US and Allied POWs then under Red Army control, that "the Russians and the Americans had agreed to a pact wherein the Russians would receive 'credits'' for each American POW returned," and that repatriation of US POWs was a "complex logistical matter."

Chief of Staff Barker of the Supreme Allied Headquarters wrote that after more than four hours of discussions with his Red Army counterparts about the repatriation issue:

- the SHAEF representatives came to the firm conviction that British and American prisoners of war were, in effect, being held hostage by the Russians until deemed expedient by them to permit their release. This latter point was further borne out by subsequent events.

A cable from the Ninth United States Army to the Supreme Allied Headquarters dated May 17, 1945 describes the deteriorating conditions in Stalag IV-B Muhlberg camp:

"Reports received that 7,000 United States and British ex-PWs formerly in Mulburg (Stalag IV-B) and NOEREISA 8715-E need medical supplies, additional medical attention and food. Many have left because of conditions. Reports indicate camp leader doing all in his power to enforce STAY-PUT order. Russians alleged to have threatened to use force to prevent escape."

It should be noted that Major Vershenko's comments about economic `credits' were not wholly inaccurate.

Weeks before V-E day (Victory in Europe) Soviets had requested a $6 billion credit line from the United States, the equivalent of $59.8 billion in 1991 dollars.

`Credits' from the United States, were, in fact, an active Soviet consideration throughout the repatriation period.

The Secretary of State, prior to a mid-April 1945 meeting with his Soviet counterpart, Commissar Molotov, received a pre-meeting briefing memorandum, one of the points of which was the Soviet request for $6 billion.

The Soviet rationale for not repatriating Allied soldiers and citizens, however, was motivated by more complex and more repugnant reasons than credits.

 In the memoirs of former Secretary of State under President Truman, James F. Byrnes, there appears an illuminating conversation the Secretary had with Molotov, the Soviet Commissar of Foreign Affairs. In September, 1945, several weeks after Japan's surrender, Byrnes recounted that while in London:

"Mr. Molotov came to see me, on instructions from Moscow... [Molotov] wanted to complain of the way in which the surrender terms [with Japan] were being carried out. He complained particularly about the way the Japanese Army was being demobilized. It was dangerous, he said, merely to disarm the Japanese and send them home; they should be held as prisoners of war. We should do what the Red Army was doing with the Japanese it had taken in Manchuria--make them work..."

IS THAT WHY RUSSIA KEPT, WITH AMERICA'S KNOWLEDGE, AT LEAST 20,000 OF OUR TROOPS?
TO MAKE THEM WORK?

LATER, DURING CONGRESSIONAL HEARINGS, THE EXCUSE FOR AMERICA NOT DEMANDING AN ACCOUNTING OF ALL AMERICAN POWs WAS THAT IT WAS TOO "TOUCHY, TOO VOLATILE" A TOPIC, THAT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN "DANGEROUS" TO PUSH THE RUSSIANS AND DEMAND AN ACCOUNTING, THAT IT MIGHT HAVE EVEN CAUSED THEM TO TERMINATE AMERICANS IN THEIR POSSESSION.

OUTRAGEOUS LIES!
IF AMERICA HAD WANTED ALL HER POWs BACK, SHE DAMN SURE COULD HAVE HAD THEM!

A cable from the Allied Command's Mission in France, to the Supreme Allied Headquarters for all of Europe, sent May 30, 1945 (Victory in Europe, VE day was May 7, 1945) the cable read:

"Accordance your telephone request, cable from Fifteenth Army French Detachment to General CHERRIERE MMFA Hotel CONTINENTAL PARIS of 25 May is paraphrased for your information.

Report of Lt. D Havernas according to CONFIRMED reports, Russians still do not release thousands of French ex-PW's and civilians, forcing them to work. Many transferred eastwards to unknown destination. Please inform high authority. 700 ex-PW's are evacuated daily from this area to UDINE. Civilians held under difficult food and accommodation conditions."

The next day, a cable detailing the magnitude of the masses of Allied prisoners of war and displaced citizens held in Soviet territory was sent from Supreme Allied Headquarters signed by Eisenhower, to the US Military Mission in Moscow.

The "discrepancies" between the Allies most up-to-date figures of various displaced Western European citizens and prisoners of war known to be in Soviet occupied territory, and the number actually repatriated by the Soviets, were outlined by Eisenhower.

"Latest available displaced persons and prisoners of war figures show almost 1,600,000 Western European (French, Belgian, Dutch and Luxemborgeois) either repatriated from or at present held in SHAEF area. Soviet delegates at LEIPZIG conference stated only 300,000 Western Europeans in their area. Combined working party on European food supplies, composed of representatives from UNRRA, SHAEF, USSR, UK, and USA, including Soviet delegate LIUSHENKO, estimated approximately 3,000,000 displaced Western Europeans in enemy-held territory at beginning 1944. This discrepancy of over 100,000 Western Europeans is causing Dutch and French Governments considerable anxiety."

DID THAT DISCREPANCY RING A BELL FOR THE AMERICAN GOVERNMENT, SO THAT IT QUESTIONED HOW MANY AMERICAN TROOPS WERE ACTUALLY BEING HELD?
IF IT DID, THEY SAID NOTHING, DID NOTHING.

Less than a month after the signing of the Yalta agreement, in an URGENT TOP SECRET Personal Message to the President, U.S.Ambassador W. Averell Harriman cabled from Moscow:

"For the past ten days the Soviets have made the same statement that Stalin has made to you [FDR], namely, that all prisoners are in Odessa or entrained thereto, whereas I have now positive proof that this was not, repeat, not true on February 26, the date on which the statement was first made. This supports my belief that Stalin's statement to you is inaccurate.

....there appear to be hundreds of OUR prisoners wandering about Poland trying to locate American contact officers for protection. I am told that OUR men don't like the idea of getting into a Russian camp. The Polish people and Polish Red Cross are being extremely hospitable, whereas food and living conditions in Russian camps are poor. In addition we have reports that there are a number of sick or wounded who are too ill to move. These Stalin does not mention in his cable. Only a small percentage of those reported sick or wounded arrive at Odessa. "

Odessa was a Black Sea port in the Ukraine, through which some 2,900 US soldiers were processed and repatriated.
It is the ONLY camp in the entire Soviet occupied zone in Europe in which US contact personnel were allowed--the Yalta agreement notwithstanding--and was the source of much of Harriman's outrage.

SINCE ODESSA WAS THE ONLY "REPATRIATION CAMP" WHERE AMERICAN OFFICIALS WERE ALLOWED, WHERE DID 20,000 AMERICAN POWs DISAPPEAR FROM?

HARRIMAN SENT ANOTHER CABLE SIX DAYS LATER: 


"I feel that the Soviet Government is trying to use our liberated prisoners of war as a club to induce us to give increased prestige to the Provisional Polish Government by dealing with it in this connection as the Soviet are doing to other cases. General Deane and I have not (repeat not) been able to find a way to force the Soviet authorities to live up to our interpretation of our agreement. Unless some steps be taken to bring direct pressure on the Soviets, our liberated prisoners will continue to suffer hardships, particularly the wounded and the sick. 

...It is the opinion of General Deane and myself that no arguments will induce the Soviets to live up to our interpretation of the [Yalta] agreement except retaliatory measures which affect their interests unless another direct appeal from the President should prove effective. We therefore recommend that the first step be a second request from the President to Marshal Stalin...In the meantime, however, we recommend further that the [State] Department and War Department come to an agreement on what retaliatory measures we can immediately apply in the event an unfavorable answer is received by the President from Marshal Stalin."

STALIN DID REPLY..SAYING HE KNEW OF ONLY 17 AMERICAN EX-POWs IN ALL OF POLAND. 

HE ALSO ADDED:

"I must also say that US ex-prisoners of war liberated by the Red Army have been treated to good conditions in Soviet camps--better conditions that those afforded Soviet ex-prisoners of war in US camps, where some of them were lodged with German war prisoners and were subjected to unfair treatment and unlawful persecutions, including beating, as has been communicated to the U.S.Government on more than one occasion."
AND THAT WAS THAT!

NO MENTION OF WHAT HAPPENED TO ALL OUR SOVIET-HELD POWs.
MATTER CLOSED...FOR OVER 70 YEARS!

NEW INTEREST ABOUT 'KEELHAUL'
<<In September 2011, the National Archives responded to a letter to President Barack Obama by Representative Marcy Kaptur and Representative Daniel Lipinski requesting the identification, declassification and public release of all records of permanent value in the custody of the U.S. Government relating to the events at Katyn.

The National Archives via the National Declassification Center subsequently made it a priority to process and declassify all known documents related not only to the initial events of the 1940s but also to the Madden Committee and the ongoing American response.

 This special effort has led to the declassification of over a thousand pages not previously released to the public, and the launch of a project to highlight Katyn material declassified by the National Archives over the previous few decades.

[1000 PAGES? HOW MANY MORE? WHY NOT RELEASE THEM ALL?]

ONE ALLIED DOCUMENT THAT WAS RELEASED TELLS US HOW FAR BRITISH  SOLDIERS WENT TO FORCE 400 'ANTI-RED RUSSIANS'  ONTO TRAINS:

"All refused to entrain. They begged to be shot. They resisted entrainment by refusing to leave their quarters.
It was necessary to use tear gas and some force to drive them out.
Tear gas forced them out of the buildings into the snow, where those who had cut themselves lay exhausted and bleeding...
Nine men had hanged themselves.
One had stabbed himself to death, and one other who had stabbed himself subsequently died."

AN ISSUE OF STARS AND STRIPES OF THAT TIME REPORTED A SIMILAR INSTANCE INVOLVING A GROUP OF COSSACK SOLDIERS, CONFRONTED WITH BEING SHIPPED BACK TO RUSSIA.
THAT GROUP USED BROKEN GLASS TO SLICE THEIR OWN THROATS, DISEMBOWELL ONE ANOTHER, AND IN OTHER WAYS KILL OR TRY TO KILL THEMSELVES.

A SMALL GIRL THEN HANDED A NOTE TO ONE OF THE BRITISH SOLDIERS.
IT SAID, "KILL US, BUT DO NOT SURRENDER US TO THE BOLSHEVIKS."

ALL IN THAT GROUP WHO WERE SENT BACK WERE NEVER HEARD FROM AGAIN.

Loewen criticizes modern American history textbooks for containing inaccurate depictions of historical figures and events such as Christopher Columbus, the lies and inaccuracies in the history books regarding the dealings between the invading Europeans from 1492 onward and the Native Americans they encountered here, and their often deceptive and inaccurate teachings told about America's commerce in slavery.

He further criticizes "history" texts for a tendency to avoid controversy and for their "bland" and simplistic style.
He proposes that when American history textbooks elevate American historical figures to the status of heroes, they unintentionally give students the impression that these figures are superhumans who live in the irretrievable past.

Many were merely murderers and frauds!

<<A few days ago a man who could have caused my death died of cancer at the ripe age of 86. He never faced a War Crimes Tribunal. He should have, and in a just world he would have. His name was Lord Aldington, and only now did I learn he was responsible for the sheer terror my decimated family of four - grandmother, mother, younger sister and I - experienced in the brutal summer of 1945 while trapped by the Red Army in the vicinity of Berlin.

We learned we were to be deported back to Russia. 
"Repatriation" was the euphemism. 
It would have meant almost certain execution or death by starvation and cold. 
In those lawless, bloody, brutal post-war years, as Germany lay in the dust and rubble of its destroyed and burned-out cities, it happened to millions and millions.

My mother having been warned, in a desperate flight across the Russian-British border in what we called the "Harzgebirge", we managed to escape. 
However, so weak was my own sense of history that as late as 1980, I never knew that the horror we escaped had a name. 
It was called "Operation Keelhaul". Millions were liquidated.>>

*** It must be pointed out that the concept of “forced repatriation” did not, then nor now, exist in international law and that the U.S. government was well aware of its illegality.
This is confirmed by a State Department note sent to the Soviet Embassy in Washington on February 1, 1945, in which explicit reference is made to the Geneva Convention to explain why Russian prisoners in German uniform should not be repatriated against their will.
The U.S. would respect this policy of not repatriating foreign nationals against their will a few years later in the aftermath of the Korean War.
However, the forced repatriations of 1945-47 in Europe of unwilling prisoners of war, and even civilians and emigres who had never been Soviet citizens, were carried out as a result of orders issued by the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff.

On August 25, 1945, General Patch, of the U.S. Seventh Army, apparently doubting the legality of the order, asked Supreme Headquarters, Allied Expeditionary Forces (SHAEF), whether he, Patch, should direct the repatriation of such persons.

SHAEF, in the person of General Eisenhower, characteristically bucked the order to the Joint Chiefs of Staff in Washington. The Joint Chiefs of Staff took four months to compose the following answer: “All Soviet citizens who were in the territory of the Soviet Union on September 1, 1939, must be repatriated without regard to their personal wishes and, if need be, by force.”

As can be seen by the wording, this order went far beyond even the illegal terms of the Yalta Agreement. And it was not just the U.S. military authorities alone who were affected, but also the British forces and the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration as well (by their top-secret order No. 199).

In early 1945 there had retreated to within the American Occupation Zone in Czechoslovakia the 600th Infantry Division (Russian) of the Wehrmacht under the command of ex-Soviet General Andrey Andreyovich Vlasov

You can find the stats, the revelation on many "business" websites, but this one simplifies it, and Bloomberg's guys have PROVEN this is NO bull!

Chief Executive Jamie Dimon -- make the case that size is a competitive advantage. It helps them lower costs and vie for customers on an INTERNATIONAL scale. Limiting it, they warn, would impair profitability and weaken the country’s position in global finance.

["'THEY WARN'"??? NO, THAT'S BLACKMAIL! THAT'S NOT A WARNING, THAT'S A THREAT! GIVE US THE MONEY OR WE'LL WRECK YOUR SHAKY ECONOMY!]

Banks have a powerful incentive to get big and unwieldy. The larger they are, the more disastrous their failure would be and the more certain they can be of a government bailout in an emergency. The result is an implicit subsidy: The banks that are potentially the most dangerous can borrow at lower rates, because creditors perceive them as too big to fail.
In one relatively thorough effort, two researchers -- Kenichi Ueda of the International Monetary Fund and Beatrice Weder di Mauro of the University of Mainz -- put the number at about 0.8 percentage point. The discount applies to all their liabilities, including bonds and customer deposits.

Small as it might sound, 0.8 percentage point makes a BIG difference. Multiplied by the total liabilities of the 10 largest U.S. banks by assets, it amounts to a TAXPAYER SUBSIDY OF  $83 BILLION A YEAR! 
To put the figure in perspective, it’s tantamount to the government giving the banks about 3 CENTS OF EVERY TAX DOLLAR COLLECTED!

The top five banks -- JPMorgan, Bank of America Corp., Citigroup Inc., Wells Fargo & Co. and Goldman Sachs Group Inc. - - account for $64 billion of the total subsidy, AN AMOUNT ROUGHLY EQUAL TO [WHAT THEY REPORT AS] THEIR TYPICAL ANNUAL PROFITS!
In other words, the banks occupying the commanding heights of the U.S. financial industry -- with almost $9 TRILLION in 'assets', MORE THAN HALF THE SIZE OF THE U.S. ECONOMY -- WOULD JUST ABOUT BREAK EVEN IN THE ABSENCE OF CORPORATE WELFARE! [THERE ARE NO REAL "PROFITS"!] In large part, the profits they report are essentially TRANSFERS FROM TAXPAYERS TO THEIR SHAREHOLDERS! [THEY AREN'T REALLY PAYING OUT ANYTHING, AMERICA! THAT'S YOUR MONEY!]

Neither bank executives nor shareholders have much incentive to change the situation. On the contrary, THE FINANCIAL INDUSTRY SPENDS HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS EVERY ELECTION CYCLE ON CAMPAIGN DONATIONS AND LOBBYING, MUCH OF WHICH IS AIMED AT MAINTAINING THE SUBSIDY!THE RESULT IS A BLOATED FINANCIAL SECTOR AND RECURRING CREDIT GLUTS.

Regulators can change the game by paring down the subsidy. One option is to make banks fund their activities with more equity from shareholders, a measure that would make them less likely to need bailouts (we recommend $1 of equity for each $5 of assets, far more than the 1-to-33 ratio that new global rules require). Another idea is to shock creditors out of complacency by making some of them take losses when banks run into trouble. A third is to prevent banks from using the subsidy to finance speculative trading, the aim of the Volcker rule in the U.S. and financial ring-fencing in the U.K.

Once shareholders fully recognized how poorly the biggest banks perform without government support, they would be motivated to demand better. This could entail anything from cutting pay packages to breaking down financial juggernauts into more manageable units. The market discipline might not please executives, but it would certainly be an improvement over paying banks to put us in danger. >>  <END BLOOMBERG QUOTE>

The subsidy HANDS these banks lower borrowing costs, BUT ONLY FOR THE SUPERBANKS, which THOSE FEW enjoy because GLOBAL creditors expect the government to bail them out in ANY emergency. THEY HAVE HUNG A SWORD OF DAMOCLES OVER US AND WE HAVE ALLOWED IT TO HANG THERE FOR DECADES!
BUT WHICH FIGURES ARE CORRECT? ECONOMIC WIZARDS ACROSS THE GLOBE HAVE MADE DIFFERENT ASSESSMENTS OF THIS AND MANY SAY IT'S MUCH WORSE THAN WE THINK!
Andy Haldane, a senior official at the Bank of England, put the subsidy at a low end of $60 billion a year for JUST THE FIVE LARGEST global banks, from 2007 through 2009.
A. Joseph Warburton and Deniz Anginer, respectively of Syracuse University and Virginia Tech, found that the subsidy for the largest U.S. banks WENT FROM LESS THAN $10 BILLION IN 2004, TO MORE THAN $100 BILLION IN EARLY 2009.  Ed Kane of Boston College put it at $300 BILLION FOR 2009 ALONE!

The repercussions of TAXPAYER SUPPORT for banks are far- reaching.
MANY scream that if you subsidize corn farmers, you get too much corn. Well, if you subsidize banks, you get too much CREDIT! 
As of September 2012, the TOTAL DEBTS of households, companies and governments in the U.S. stood at 2.5 TIMES THE ANNUAL ECONOMIC OUTPUT!
HOW CAN WE PAY BACK ALMOST THREE TIMES MORE DEBT THAN WE CAN EVER HOPE TO RAKE IN ?
WHAT SHOULD AMERICA'S RECENT CREDIT DEVALUATION AND CRISES TELL US? WE HAVE PUSHED THE OUTER LIMITS AND NEXT TIME THESE BANKS NEED A BAILOUT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT WILL NOT BE ABLE TO HAND IT TO THEM...  UNLESS THEY ROB US ALL OF EVERYTHING WE HAVE!

The most effective subsidy-reducing tool is CAPITAL, i.e., REAL MONEY, and DEMANDING THAT SHAREHOLDERS, NOT TAXPAYERS, PAY INTO THE 'ENTERPRISE' FOR A CHANGE! STOP BANKS FROM INDISCRIMINATELY 'BORROWING' WITH THE IDEA THAT UNCLE SAM WILL BAIL THEM OUT IF THEY SCREW IT ALL UP YET AGAIN!
EQUITY WOULD THEN ABSORB LOSSES, NOT TAXPAYER SUPPORT! NOT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT WHICH HAS THEIR OWN MONSTER TO FEED, THE DAMNABLE FEDERAL RESERVE! 

Research from the Bank of England suggests that if banks had JUST $1 of shareholder equity for each $5 in assets, the benefits would outweigh the costs. Current global rules require just $1 in equity for each $33 in assets! WISH WE COULD GET A DEAL LIKE THAT!  In their new book, “The Bankers’ New Clothes,” economists Anat Admati and Martin Hellwig explain in detail how higher levels of equity would benefit the financial system and the economy.
Another subsidy curb, already used in Ireland and Spain, is to REQUIRE SOME CREDITORS TO JUST TAKE LOSSES WHEN THEIR BANK GETS INTO TROUBLE...NO BAILOUTS! IMAGINE THAT! Investors would then DEMAND a higher yield to compensate for the added risk of lending to big banks, removing some of the funding advantage. Also, the pending Volcker rule in the U.S. and financial ring-fencing measures in the U.K. pare down the subsidy by preventing large universal banks from using it to finance SPECULATIVE (READ AS CARELESS) trading.

The largest 'global banks', THE TOP 5 OR 6, DO receive a big taxpayer subsidy. EVEN THE FED'S CHAIRMAN OLD BEN BERNANKE AGREES. THAT'S OBVIOUS IN THE STATEMENTS HE MADE TO CONGRESS THIS PAST WEEK! TO ADMIT IT DOES NOTHING! THERE MUST BE A SOLUTION TO THIS HEIST! SOMEONE HAS TO STOP THE THEFT OF TAXPAYER FUNDS!
