I was delighted to see this article and to know such things are still alive in "America, Inc".
You may be skeptical that this can work, but we who grew up in VERY rural America, 30 to 50 miles from the nearest bank, unaware of Wall Street or the Federal Reserve's printing presses, children of the 1940s to 1950s, we know it works, and works very well.

<<What if you used a different currency to buy a sandwich from your main street deli than you did to make a purchase at the Wal-Mart 10 miles outside town? "BerkShares," the local paper currency of Berkshire County in Massachusetts, lets you do that. The popularity of BerkShares has ebbed and flowed, but with about $130,000 worth of notes currently in circulation, the number of businesses accepting the currency has jumped to about 400 from the 100 that initially participated in 2006.

Shooting a Making Sen$e segment on the phenomenon in Western Massachusetts, which is slated to air on PBS NewsHour Thursday, Paul Solman spoke with Alice Maggio, the local currency program director at the Schumacher Center for a New Economics in Great Barrington, named after British economist E.F. Schumacher, the author of the 20th century classic about acting locally, "Small Is Beautiful."

Alice Maggio: BerkShares evolved from a lot of experiments in this area with local currency. There have been Berkshire Farm Preserve notes, Monterey General Store notes and Deli Dollars, all experiments in funding upfront the costs of a business that everybody believed in and everybody understood already. So the Deli Dollars was the best example of that. There's a deli in town and it needed to move but the owner couldn't get a bank loan. So he turned to his customers and asked: Will you fund my move? And so he issued Deli Dollars. The customers could buy a Deli Dollar for $8 that was worth $10 when redeemed. So he basically financed his own move.

Paul Solman: So then how did BerkShares start?

Alice Maggio: Well, after these different experiments, the merchants on Main Street in Great Barrington said, "Hey, we want to do the same thing. We're local businesses; we need some support, too." And so they worked out a program called BerkShares in the early '90s. It was sort of like a promotion: during the summer you could get one BerkShare with every purchase you made from a local business, and then at the end of the summer, there was one weekend where you could redeem them. And from there, people said, "Well, why are we doing this just in the summer? Let's just do it all the time."

Paul Solman: Could you imagine, in your wildest dreams, that BerkShares might become preferable in some people's minds to the U.S. dollar?

Alice Maggio: That is our goal: to create a currency that holds its value, as opposed to a currency like the dollar that's inflating constantly, and at that point people will want to use BerkShares. But they'll only use them within this region and then there'll be other regional currencies elsewhere, but the goal of BerkShares is to provide affordable and appropriate capital for businesses here in the region....
...we're going to issue to a broad range of import-replacing businesses -- businesses that are producing things that we have been importing.

Paul Solman: So it's like the community as bank.

Alice Maggio: It is. It's like community banking.>>

Unless YOU have worked a farm, or been a farm employee, you know almost NOTHING about the intensity of work required, the ever-present possibility of losing hundreds or thousands of acres to a natural disaster, loss of a water supply or trusted seed supplier, or of NOT finding enough people to harvest any crop that makes it to harvest. THAT'S "PERPLEXING" ENOUGH, ISN'T IT?
As the nation's central bank, the Federal Reserve is in charge of the country's CREDIT, so it really doesn't have a financial reason to own Treasury notes. Then why did it DOUBLE its holdings between 2007 and 2012 TO ALMOST $2 TRILLION?
THAT MERELY MONETIZES THE DEBT!
IT'S LIKE THE "SHELL GAME". IT'S ALL BASED ON IMAGINARY "CREDIT", ON $$$ CREATED FROM NOTHING, WITH NOTHING TO BACK IT UP!

The CURSED Council on Foreign Relations in June, 2010, http://www.cfr.org/financial-crises/dangerous-us-government-debt/p22408 , wrote: <<Since 1982 it [America] has run a current account deficit every year but one, steadily piling up obligations to foreigners. Because foreigners have been eager to hold dollar assets, they have willingly enabled this pattern, pouring capital into the United States and financing the nation's surplus of spending over savings.
The dollar was falling sharply. Early in 2009 it fetched almost eighty euro cents in Frankfurt or Athens; by autumn it was worth sixty-seven euro cents. Foreign investors, who held more than half of the U.S. Treasury market, were getting nervous. Prominent economists opined that the euro would become the world's reserve currency by as early as 2015.>>
SO THE FED BROUGHT A FEW MORE PRINTING PRESSES ONLINE AND CREATED MORE DOLLARS OUT OF THIN AIR, PAPER DOLLARS NOT QUITE WORTH THE COST OF PRINTING.

HOW TERRIBLE IS THIS?
Well, it's of REALLY BIG concern now that the debt-to-GDP ratio has passed 100%. IT HAS PASSED 100%. This means that the U.S. DEBT IS LARGER than our entire economy can possibly produce in A YEAR. Even though it's considered unlikely, those who own U.S. debt have become increasingly concerned that perhaps the U.S. will default on its debt.
LOOKS LIKE THAT'S WHAT WE WILL BE DOING AFTER OCTOBER THIS YEAR...DEFAULTING ON OUR DEBTS.]
    7~ an unbalanced federal budget
[WE HAVEN'T HAD A BALANCED BUDGET, ONE BALANCED WITH REVENUES, IN THE PAST 110 YEARS!
The White House Office of Management and Budget and the Congressional Budget Office both track yearly federal revenues and expenditures. Technically, a budget is considered balanced when federal expenses equal federal REVENUES -- meaning there is no deficit or surplus. Generally speaking, however, most people consider a budget balanced when revenues meet or exceed expenditures.
The federal budget is so huge that balancing it with revenues is almost impossible. It hasn't happened in at least the last 110 years, according to the OMB.
However, in the past 50 years, from 1960-2010, the federal government took in more money than it spent five times -- in 1969 (NIXON), 1998, 1999, 2000 and VERY EARLY 2001 (ALL 4 OF THOSE YEARS WAS 'THANKS' TO BILL CLINTON'S TEAM) SO NO, NO WE DON'T HAVE A SNOWBALL'S CHANCE IN A BLAST FURNACE OF EVER SEEING A BALANCED BUDGET AGAIN AND THE LIARS ON CAPITOL HILL KNOW THIS ALL TOO WELL.IT ISN'T JUST OBAMA WHO CAN'T BALANCE A U.S. BUDGET! NO ONE CAN! EVEN NIXON AND CLINTON DIDN'T... NOT WITH REVENUES.]
    8~ disorganized state and municipal finances
[DOES THIS EVEN NEED ADDRESSING? THE FEDERAL CORPORATION HAS SCREWED STATE AND LOCAL OUT OF ANY HOPE OF ORGANIZING ANYTHING. THE FEDERAL GOONS' INVASION OF STATES AND CITIES AND THE HORRIFIC MISMANAGEMENT THAT FOLLOWED HAS BROUGHT EVEN THE TINIEST TOWN IN AMERICA UNDER THEIR BOOTS AND INTO RUIN!]

So, citizens, comparing the Great Depression precursors to today, what do YOU see?
I see we were better off THEN!

What happened AFTER the banks failed, closed, and we didn't have a lot of money in circulation?
There was little money in the hands of the 'common' people, and given their uncertainty about the prospects of getting more, people tended to hoard what little money they did have. Hoarding slowed the velocity of circulation, which further reduced the volume of business we transacted. Serious human needs went unmet ...UNTIL THE PEOPLE, OUT OF DESPERATION, BEGAN TO RE-GROUP, ORGANIZE THINGS THEMSELVES

Besides learning how to "make do, or do without," people began to establish mutual support structures, like workers' cooperatives, many of which would recycle and repair donated or broken items. People learned to share what they had, and to by-pass the market and financial systems. Most of these measures were considered stop-gaps to be utilized until things "got back to normal," but, in some of them, there seemed to be the promise of more permanent improvements. One of these "stop-gaps," which was intended to address the problem of the dearth of currency in circulation, was the issuance of "scrip."
Among these scrip issues there were many failures, but there were also many impressive successes. In fact, history is full of examples of successful local initiatives aimed at providing exchange media. The Great Depression of the 1930's saw this done on an unprecedented scale. There were literally hundreds of scrip issues that were put into circulation by a variety of agencies, including state governments, municipalities, school districts, clearing house associations, manufacturers, merchants, chambers of commerce, business associations, local relief committees, cooperatives, and even individuals. These issues went by different names, depending on who issued them and the circumstances of their issuance. Common scrip types were certificates of indebtedness, tax anticipation notes, payroll warrants, trade scrip, clearing house certificates, credit vouchers, moratorium certificates, and merchandise bonds.
Scrip was generally accepted and used to do business within a limited local area. The farther it got from home, however, the more uncertainty there was about its origin, and the less confidence people would have in it.
Scrip tended to remain within the local economy and had the effect of stimulating local development and community self-reliance. This limited range of acceptance might seem at first to be a disadvantage of scrip, but, from the standpoint of the local economy, it is a great advantage. Toward the end of the Depression, however, as official government and central bank currencies became more widely available, scrip disappeared.
There was one story of scrip saving a town during the Great Depression that sticks in my mind.
The village of Schwanenkirchen Germany had a population of about 500 and its only industry was a coal mine which had been closed for two years because of the depression. The village had barely existed by means of the government dole and almost everyone was in debt. Deflation throughout Germany led to bankruptcies, suicides and overcrowded jails. The coal mine owner, Hebecker, had heard about Wara stamp scrip and decided to try it. He got a loan of official currency (Reichsmarks) and with it bought Wara stamp scrip from the Wara Exchange Association.

   "Herr Hebecker assembled his workers. He told them that he had succeeded in getting a loan of 40,000 Reichsmarks, that he wished to resume operations but that he wanted to pay wages not in Marks but in Wara. The miners agreed to the proposal when they learned that the village store would accept Wara in exchange for goods.

    When, after two years of complete stagnation, the workers for the first time brought home their pay envelopes, no one was interested in hoarding a cent of it; all the money went to the stores to pay off debts or for the purchase of necessities. The shopkeepers, too, were happy. Although at first they had felt a little hesitant about Wara, they had no choice, as no one had any other kind of money. The shopkeepers then forced it on the wholesalers, the wholesalers forced it on the manufacturers, who in turn tried to pass it on to those who carried their notes, or they exchanged it at Herr Hebecker's mine for coal.

    No one who received Wara scrip wished to hold it; the workers, storekeepers, wholesalers and manufacturers all strove to get rid of it as quickly as possible, for any person who held it over one week was obliged to pay a 2 cent stamp tax in order to redeem the scrip. So the Wara scrip kept circulating, a large part of it returning to the coal mine, where it provided work, profits and better conditions for the entire community. Indeed, one could not have recognized Schwanenkirchen a few months after work had resumed at the mine. The village was on a prosperity basis, workers and merchants were free from debts and a new spirit of freedom and life pervaded the town."

"The news of the town's prosperity in the midst of depression-ridden Germany spread quickly. From all over the country reporters came to see and write about the 'Miracle of Schwanenkirchen'. Even in the United States one read about it in the financial sections of most big papers. But no explanation was given as to the real cause of the miracle - that non-hoardable money was being tried out and that it was working marvelously."

Communities with local currencies will be less affected when recession or depression hits the mainstream economy.
If we BUILD our communities as opposed to allowing the FEDERAL government to tear them down, and rely on local food supplies, local businesses (not mega-businesses), help others manufacture close to home what we usually import at a high cost, and establish local currencies we may just weather the oncoming storm.

WE CAN MAKE THE TRANSITION AS LITTLE OR AS MUCH AS WE PLEASE.
To my knowledge, there is no current law which would prevent such initiatives as local scrip from being implemented today in the United States. We see the county in Massachusetts is doing it successfully. The application of local exchange media could provide results every bit as dramatic as those obtained in Schwanenkirchen.
IF THE FEDS WOULD ALLOW US THE OPPORTUNITY!
Economic depressions are typified by a scarcity of "ordinary" money, e.g., U.S. dollars.
The TRUTH is, most depressions are CAUSED by restriction of the money supply by the monetary authorities. The subsequent felt lack of adequate payment media causes people to become fearful and to hoard what money there is. This hoarding slows its rate of circulation which further reduces the volume of business being conducted.
So IF the FEDS would back off and allow us to have local currencies,  the LOCAL economies would perhaps flourish, which in turn would stimulate the economy overall.
THE FED is so scared of losing control OVER THE PEOPLE that it threatens and pushes CONgress to save it from such a horrible fate...from ECONOMIC RECOVERY AND AN OUT-OF-DEBT SOCIETY!

THE DOLLAR IS DYING, AND PEOPLE KNOW NOW THERE IS NO GOLD NOR SILVER TO BACK IT UP.
THE WHOLE WORLD KNOWS THAT!
SO WHY NOT LET AMERICANS DECIDE HOW THEY WANT TO HANDLE THIS CONTINUING DEPRESSION WE'VE BEEN IN SINCE ABOUT THE LATE 1960s?

<<It may seem like Monopoly money to outsiders, but a growing number of communities across the U.S. are using homegrown local currencies to stimulate their economies and protect themselves from the nation's broader economic woes.
The Constitution prohibits individual states from printing and issuing paper money as legal tender, but they are allowed to use coins as currency.
While there were only about 20 active community currencies in the United States in 2009, there has been a recent resurgence, with at least a dozen communities developing their own currencies in the past couple of years.
"When you go to Home Depot and buy $100 worth of lumber, some of that profit is leaving your town and going to a different part of the world, never to come back," said Rich Creyer, co-founder of the currency. "By making trade money, we have created a sealed system. It's our own little economy and country in a fishbowl.">>

As I said at the beginning, SOMETHING, whether America's bankruptcy and international outrage at our defaults on debts, or some incredible grand scale "natural disaster", or our bumbling government making some enormous global "faux pas" and bringing down global wrath on us in a nuclear holocaust, or maybe Homeland Security can scare us up some cataclysmic "terrorist event" that takes down society as we know it,  it IS coming!
And THEN, without the idiotic restrictions and government's micro-managing every phase of our existence, we WILL do what we must, what is SANE and LOGICAL, and maybe we can forget how many worthless dollars we have in the rotten banks.

One, the Alaska current, turns north up the coast toward British Columbia and Southeast Alaska. The other, the California current, turns south and heads down the western seaboard of the U.S.
The migration patterns of Pacific salmon should also be taken into consideration. In a nutshell, our salmon ride the Alaska current and follow its curve past Sitka, Yakutat, Kodiak and the Aleutian Islands. Most often, it’s the chinook, coho and sockeye salmon migration patterns that range farthest. Chum and pink salmon seem to stay closer to home. Regardless of how far out each salmon species ventures into the Pacific, each fish hitches a ride back to its home rivers and spawning grounds on the North Pacific current, the same one pulling the nuclear waste eastward..We are concerned our Alaska salmon are being slowly tainted with nuclear waste. We are worried about the impact this waste could have on our resources, and especially the people who consume them.'"

Another example – pacific herring – is even more dramatic.   Pacific herring is wide-ranging fish, spanning all the way from Japan to Southern California:

Associated Press reports:
At island rookeries off the Southern California coast, 45 percent of the pups born in June have died, said Sharon Melin, a wildlife biologist for the National Marine Fisheries Service based in Seattle. Normally, less than one-third of the pups would die.
It’s gotten so bad in the past two weeks that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration declared an “unusual mortality event.”
The Vancouver Sun reported in January, 2012 that 94 per cent of the anchovies and 92 per cent of the sardines sold by the Japanese to Canada contained radioactive cesium. Some of the fish were caught in Japanese coastal waters; but others were caught many hundreds of miles away in the open ocean.Radiation from Fukushima was directly deposited into the kelp off the Western coast of North America … especially in Southern California.
Fish that eat the kelp have also gotten exposed to the radiation … as have the animals that eat those fish.
The largest concentration was about 250 times higher than levels found in kelp before the accident.
"Basically, we saw it in all the California kelp blades we sampled," said Steven Manley, a CSU Long Beach biology professor who specializes in kelp.

Radiation hotspots have spread to three holding areas for hundreds of hastily built tanks storing water contaminated by being flushed over three reactors that melted down at the Fukushima Daiichi plant in March 2011.

The rising radiation levels and leaks at the plant have prompted international alarm, and the Japanese government said on Tuesday it would step in with almost $500 million of funding to fix the growing levels of contaminated water at the plant.

Readings just above the ground near a set of tanks at the plant showed radiation as high as 2,200 millisieverts (mSv), the Nuclear Regulation Authority (NRA) said on Wednesday. The previous high in areas holding the tanks was the 1,800 mSv recorded on Saturday.

Both levels would be enough to kill an unprotected person within hours.

Japan's biggest utility has been criticized for a series of mishaps including its admission, after repeated denials, that contaminated water was flowing into the Pacific from another area of the plant. That was followed by the leaks from above-ground tanks.

The latest radiation readings at the plant were taken on Tuesday and were not related to a 6.9 magnitude earthquake off southern Japan earlier on Wednesday.

FUKUSHIMA (Kyodo) -- The water storage tanks at the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant were built hastily and it was feared at the time that toxic water could leak from them, a male utility worker involved in their construction told Kyodo News recently.
"We were required to build the tanks in succession," the male worker said, recalling his experience of constructing the group of tanks in the "H4" area two years ago. "We gave priority to making the tanks, rather than quality control. There were fears that toxic water may leak."
With contaminated water accumulating at the plant that suffered a triple meltdown, workers constructed one 1,000-ton tank every three days, he said.
The procurement of materials was not managed well, with necessary materials sometimes not delivered on time.
The tank confirmed to have leaked was built in June 2011, around three months after the plant was damaged by a huge earthquake and tsunami, but it was dismantled after sinking into the ground and later reassembled in the H4 area, he said.

Given that the life span of the tanks is only around 5 years, he said, "All of the tanks are makeshift. More toxic water may leak as they deteriorate."
There are around 350 such tanks at the plant.>>

 NOW WE SEE THAT LEVELS ARE 2000% TO 4000% HIGHER THAN WE WERE BEING TOLD!] Top scientists from many other nations, NOT JUST CHINA, in a meta-analysis of studies of locations around the globe,  pooling across multiple studies, in multiple areas, and in a rigorous statistical manner provides a tool to really get at these questions about low-level radiation, examining more than 5,000 papers involving natural background radiation that were narrowed to 46 for quantitative comparison. The selected studies all examined both a control group and a more highly irradiated population and quantified the size of the radiation levels for each. Each paper also reported test statistics that allowed direct comparison between the studies.
The organisms studied included plants and animals, but had a large preponderance of human subjects. Each study examined one or more possible effects of radiation, such as DNA damage measured in the lab, prevalence of a disease such as Down’s Syndrome, or the sex ratio produced in offspring. For each effect, a statistical algorithm was used to generate a single value, the effect size, which could be compared across all the studies.
The scientists reported significant negative effects in a range of categories, including immunology, physiology, mutation and disease occurrence. The frequency of negative effects was beyond that of random chance.
“It also provides evidence that there is no threshold below which there are no effects of radiation,” he added. “A theory that has been batted around a lot over the last couple of decades is the idea that is there a threshold of exposure below which there are no negative consequences. These data provide fairly strong evidence that there is no threshold — radiation effects are measurable as far down as you can go, given the statistical power you have at hand.”

Physicians for Social Responsibility notes:
According to the National Academy of Sciences, there are no safe doses of radiation. Decades of research show clearly that any dose of radiation increases an individual’s risk for the development of cancer.
“There is no safe level of radionuclide exposure, whether from food, water or other sources. Period,” said Jeff Patterson, DO, immediate past president of Physicians for Social Responsibility. “Exposure to radionuclides, such as iodine-131 and cesium-137, increases the incidence of cancer. For this reason, every effort must be taken to minimize the radionuclide content in food and water.”
“Consuming food containing radionuclides is particularly dangerous. If an individual ingests or inhales a radioactive particle, it continues to irradiate the body as long as it remains radioactive and stays in the body,”said Alan H. Lockwood, MD, a member of the Board of Physicians for Social Responsibility.
“Children are much more susceptible to the effects of radiation, and stand a much greater chance of developing cancer than adults,” said Dr. Andrew Kanter, president-elect of PSR’s Board.
The National Research Council’s Committee to Assess the Scientific Information for the Radiation Exposure Screening and Education Program explains:

Radioactivity generates radiation by emitting particles. Radioactive materials outside the the body are called external emitters, and radioactive materials located within the body are called internal emitters.

Internal emitters are much more dangerous than external emitters. Specifically, one is only exposed to radiation as long as he or she is near the external emitter.
For example, when you get an x-ray, an external emitter is turned on for an instant, and then switched back off.
But internal emitters steadily and continuously emit radiation for as long as the particle remains radioactive, or until the person dies – whichever occurs first. As such, they are much more dangerous.
As the head of a Tokyo-area medical clinic – Dr. Junro Fuse, Internist and head of Kosugi Medical Clinic – said:

Risk from internal exposure is 200-600 times greater than risk from external exposure.

The cesium which was scattered all over the place by above-ground nuclear tests and the Chernobyl and Fukushima accidents has a much longer half life, and can easily contaminate food and water supplies. As the New York Times notes:
Over the long term, the big threat to human health is cesium-137, which has a half-life of 30 years.
At that rate of disintegration, John Emsley wrote in “Nature’s Building Blocks” (Oxford, 2001),
“it takes over 200 years to reduce it to 1 percent of its former level.”

Ira Helfand, MD, a member of the Board of Physicians for Social Responsibility states, “But it is not true to say that it is "safe" to release this much radiation; some people will get cancer and die as a result.”

John LaForge writes:

The National Council on Radiation Protection says, “… every increment of radiation exposure produces an incremen­tal increase in the risk of cancer.” The Environmental Protection Agency says, “… any exposure to radiation poses some risk, i.e. there is no level below which we can say an exposure poses no risk.” The Department of Energy says about “low levels of radiation” that “… the major effect is a very slight increase in cancer risk.” The Nuclear Regulatory Commission says, “any amount of radiation may pose some risk for causing cancer … any increase in dose, no matter how small, results in an incremental increase in risk.” The National Academy of Sciences, in its “Biological Effects of Ionizing Radiation VII,” says, “… it is unlikely that a threshold exists for the induction of cancers ….”
Long story short, “One can no longer speak of a ‘safe’ dose level,” as Dr. Ian Fairlie and Dr. Marvin Resnikoff said in their report “No dose too low,” in the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists.

Even Japan Times reports:
Protracted exposure to low-level radiation is associated with a significant increase in the risk of leukemia, according to a long-term study published Thursday in a U.S. research journal.
The study released in the monthly Environmental Health Perspectives was based on a 20-year survey of around 110,000 workers who engaged in cleanup work related to the Chernobyl nuclear plant disaster in 1986.
Scientists from the University of California, San Francisco, the U.S. National Cancer Institute and the National Research Center for Radiation Medicine in Ukraine were among those who participated in the research.

Indeed, the overwhelming consensus among radiation experts is that repeated exposure to low doses of radiation can cause cancer, genetic mutations, heart disease, stroke and other serious illness (and see this.)
The top U.S. government radiation experts – like Karl Morgan, John Goffman and Arthur Tamplin – and scientific luminaries such as Ernest Sternglass and Alice Stewart, concluded that low level radiation can cause serious health effects.

Hazards from low level radiation are long-term, not acute effects… Every exposure increases risk of cancer.

Most “Background Radiation” Didn’t Exist Before Nuclear Weapons Testing and Nuclear Reactors
Nuclear apologists pretend that we get a higher exposure from background radiation (when we fly, for example) or x-rays then we get from nuclear accidents.In fact, there was exactly zero background radioactive cesium or iodine before above-ground nuclear testing and nuclear accidents started.

Caesium-137 is unique in that it is totally anthropogenic. Unlike most other radioisotopes, caesium-137 is not produced from its non-radioactive isotope, but from uranium. It did not occur in nature before nuclear weapons testing began. By observing the characteristic gamma rays emitted by this isotope, it is possible to determine whether the contents of a given sealed container were made before or after the advent of atomic bomb explosions. This procedure has been used by researchers to check the authenticity of certain rare wines, most notably the purported “Jefferson bottles”.

Cesium-133 is the only naturally occurring isotope and is non-radioactive; all other isotopes, including cesium-137, are produced by human activity.

Similarly, iodine-131 is not a naturally occurring isotope. As the Encyclopedia Britannica notes:

And the cesium levels hitting the west coast of North America will keep increasing for several years. If an adversary lands a knockout blow, they fear, it could black out vast areas of the continent for weeks; interrupt supplies of water, gasoline, diesel fuel and fresh food; shut down communications; and create disruptions of a scale that was only hinted at by Hurricane Sandy and the attacks of Sept. 11.
 This is why thousands of utility workers, business executives, National Guard officers, F.B.I. antiterrorism experts and officials from government agencies in the United States, Canada and Mexico are preparing for an emergency drill in November that will simulate physical attacks and cyberattacks that could take down large sections of the power grid.

They will practice for a crisis unlike anything the real grid has ever seen, and more than 150 companies and organizations have signed up to participate.

The MEU includes a battalion landing team, a Marine regiment, a helicopter squadron and a combat logistics battalion. It’s the landing force for a U.S. Navy amphibious group consisting of the USS Bataan, USS Mesa Verde and USS Gunston Hall.
“We’re sort of America’s 911 force,” Capt. Coles said. “We can be out [at sea], get a call and respond to it.”
The 22nd MEU is good at it. It’s the most decorated of the seven MEU units, according to the Department of Defense. Members have served in Lebanon, Grenada, Liberia, the Gulf War, Kosovo, Bosnia, Somalia, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
People may see some role players and probably hear military helicopters, but where the exercises will be conducted will be out of the way,” Capt. Coles said. “This is an important exercise for us and we appreciate being in town.”

Multifarious “terror threats” have managed to spread into nearly every city and state across the country preparing first responders and conditioning citizens for any kind of “emergency” you can think of.

This week Columbus, Ohio plans to engage in a training exercise that will involve nearly 6,000 military staff and veterans in order to simulate a “terrorist attack,” reports WBNS-TV.

Reuters released a report last spring describing the “first simulated test of a terrorist attack on a nuclear power plant” in Pennsylvania as a success. Although the test was performed at Three Mile Island, the site of the worst commercial nuclear accident in U.S. history, officials said the location had no significance. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has mandated 65 nuclear power plants to practice terrorist attack drills every two years, testing their preparedness. The test involved 1,200 participants in 76 municipalities including 15 school districts.

"'A government-created fear designed to enlist public support for controls, legislation, rules and regulation increasing government power, while reducing individual rights, is called a False Flag Event (FFE). The fear is usually something quite dramatic, like the bombing of Pearl Harbor or the decimation of the World Trade Centers.
False Flag Events are the hallmark of a tyrannical government. Legitimate governments eventually evolve into tyranny using a tool bag of tired, repetitious applications of fear and deceit - routinely utilizing murder, explosions, kidnappings, rape, war, and deception for effect. Deception is typically deployed using mind-controlling tools attached to information channels, such as print media, and in modern times, television, radio, magazines and more.

During the later stages of a developing tyranny, False Flag Events are an important part of the final transition from a government with controls residing with those governed to a totalitarian system where control resides entirely with those governing.

In the United States of America, the former Federal Government has been captured and is now occupied by hostile foreign powers; and the False Flag was instrumental in the capture and subsequent usurpation of the National Government of America.

Beginning with the Federal Reserve Act of 1913, a steady infiltration and replacement of critical agencies, staff and military positions of power, culminating in the assassination of John F. Kennedy, has rendered the government of United States Federal Government usurped and now under the control of International banking and insurance corporations and their owners.

Evidence of the tyranny’s current state of paranoia can be seen in many public actions, including the build up of military-style weapons such as armored vehicles, bulletproof road booths used for stopping traffic during searches, and foreign troops being trained in the United States for purposes of urban pacification of American citizens.

Moreover, the government is buying ammunition at rates only necessary if they were planning to fight World War Two again, 34 times. The military is being prepared and trained to fight and kill Americans.  The Department of Homeland Security has been training to shoot and kill Americans using custom design targets with pictures of pregnant white women, children, elderly and average looking white American Citizens.

Racial targeting is a time-honored strategy of tyrannical takeovers. Racial targeting can be used for several reasons: one is a possible identification of a scapegoat, allowing other races to focus on the hated race and then provide support to the tyranny so long as the targeted race is seen as the primary enemy. Another might be to target the most likely race to oppose the rising tyranny with racial baiting to pit race against race, further distracting and demonizing the targeted race, solidifying un-targeted races behind the actions of the tyranny.

America is now at the confluence of two great streams of power: the government still officially pretending to be legitimate and the people still armed and beginning to question government legitimacy.

[IF WE HAD NOT BEGUN TO QUESTION, THEY WOULD HAVE ALREADY SEALED OUR FATES!]The effectiveness of the False Flag Event diminishes quickly when people begin to wake up. The Boston Bombing False Flag Event was so poorly organized and executed and so well documented by private observers and people using cameras, the government nearly lost the pretension of authority as alternative news groups surrounded the “officials” and demanded answers to the blatant discrepancies.

Next then, we can expect a much larger and more violent attack on the American people using government apparatus and passed off as a terrorist attack; but this time, the size will be so large that questions regarding who, or what, caused the attack, will have to wait until Americans can deal with the enormity.

If the terrorists now running the usurped Federal Government do not make their move soon, awakening Americans will make their move. Arrests, trials and executions are what is required and Americans awake now understand that nothing short of a complete purge of the perpetrators will take back the government lost many years ago.

Now is the time to be vigilant to the ways in which the government has historically orchestrated a False Flag Event (FFE). One consistent indicator of a FFE is notification by the hostile tyranny (USG) that a drill is being planned, These drills can be in conjunction with an already planned event, such as during the Boston Marathon where drills were publicized, including the use of bomb sniffing dogs during the day of the race. Other drills are operated autonomously like the numerous drills in action on the day of September 11, 2001; see the film above.

Drills are cover and are absolutely necessary to give official pretense to operations that must be carried out in the light of day for a successful False Flag Event.

Drills are a prop, and propaganda is the lubricant smoothing the way for props to be placed so the FFE can proceed under cover of daylight. Propaganda usually comes before the drill begins, often in the form of news releases, happily passed along by State-run media outlets such as CNN, MSNBC and the other mainstream media whores regurgitating government press releases. Standard propaganda provides a few lines about the “official” reason for the drill and usually leaves the public with a feeling of being notified and empowered, since these drills are “naturally” being carried out to protect the inhabitants of America from harm - for the safety of the children of course.

We also know that the government is sinking in scandals and allegations of corruption while a waking public is beginning to look for pitch forks. Therefore, it would seem logical, the usurper government would next attempt a Large Scale False Flag Event LSFFE, to divert attention and quickly organize into Martial Law from which the lying, deceitful, illegitimate government would rise and pretend to control and ameliorate the situation, using the crisis for expanding powers to the point of a total tyranny.

I also would mention, the same usurped government has been complicit with the owners of the banking and insurance rackets, Wall Street, and governments of Western nations, to create a financial crisis concomitantly to be triggered with a LSFFE. The financial event may begin before, during, or after the event. A financial crisis resulting in the total collapse of the financial system has been planned, coordinated and made ready to happen during a period of a LSFFE. '"
