RADIATION LEVELS IN THE U.S. UPDATE FINAL JUNE, 2016

FINAL UPDATE... JUNE 12, 2016


WHY "FINAL"?
BECAUSE WE SIMPLY CANNOT TRUST THE EPA MONITORS AND BECAUSE ALMOST NO ONE IS GOING TO COMPLAIN TO THEIR SENATORS, REPRESENTATIVES OR THE EPA LOUDLY ENOUGH TO FORCE CHANGE.

SORRY, THAT'S MY CALL ON IT, SO BELOW IS THE FINAL UPDATE, BUT DO HAVE A LOOK AT WHAT WE DID LEARN IN THE REST OF THIS BLOG SO YOU KNOW WHO'S TO BLAME FOR WHAT WE AREN'T TOLD AND SO YOU CAN SEE THAT RIGHT HERE IN AMERICA, WE HAVE OUR OWN ONGOING "FUKUSHIMA", POSSIBLY WORSE.

"Four recorded cities were over 1,000 CPM all week long, One Thousand CPM Plus, 24/7, 100% of the time and no relief. Same as last week; but, the all-week-long-High-Rad-contagion is spreading, too. More cities are above 1,000 CPM for more hours each week.
Colorado Springs, Colorado, home to the US Air Force Academy, flew up more than 700 CPM Points to 1,828 CPM in only two hours.  

Radiation hit these cities hard:
~Colorado Springs, CO;  
~Raleigh, NC;  
~Little Rock, AR;  
~and Portland, Maine.  

All were over 1,000 CPM up to Five (5) weeks straight. 

Navajo Lake, New Mexico’s Rad station earns a mention due to enduring 70 Hours over 1,000 CPM. 
Portland, Maine’s Rad station was recently obliterated; even the standard seven years of historical records were destroyed or moved. 
Portland, Maine’s Rad number will continue as: 1,262 CPM. That was the most recent recorded High CPM reading.

The YRTW Table (BELOW) of poisoned American cities has changed by adding a Column on the Right hand side. It is labeled “Corrupted?” The purpose of the column is to provide guidance as to the reliability, consistency and truthfulness of an individual city’s High Rad reading for that given week.  


Since a city’s report is subject to many strongly felt opinions that can affect Rad Readings, whether or not the Rad Unit was reporting at least 168 Hours (24 X 7)  takes on additional importance. The number of hours the machines work in a week is not an opinion.
All things being equal there should be One Reading per Hour for 168 Rad readings a week. The corruption may originate with a machine error, programming glitch, human intervention or change, intended or not.
The response may be “Yes” for “Yes, it is corrupted.”
The entry will be “Left Blank” for “Not Suspected.”
 

Only ignorant monsters or animals would destroy the Rad records. They deserve civilization’s most severe sanction.

There are approximately 104 operating reactors in the States. The number varies with reloading and repair schedules. The only known new sources are the NUCLEAR PRODUCT FIRES IN CANADA.  fires. 

Listed in Counts per Minute, a Count is one Radioactive Decay Registered by the Instrument.
 
The Top Reporting Radioactive Cities are listed. The highest radiation reporting city is listed first, the least radioactive city reporting is listed last.

 ONGOING SINCE 3 DAYS AFTER THE TSUNAMI IN JAPAN, MARCH 11, 2011:

 A REPORT OUT BY THE EPA IN LATE 2014 SHOWED RECORD HIGH LEVELS OF AIR RADIATION FOR THE 4th MONTH IN A ROW, COAST-TO-COAST ACROSS AMERICA.

 SHARP INCREASES IN BETA RADIATION WERE EVIDENT FROM THE PACIFIC COAST TO THE EASTERN SEABOARD.

 THERE WAS BUT ONE REASON SUGGESTED FOR SUCH HIGH LEVELS ALL OVER THE U.S...FUKUSHIMA, JAPAN...THE STILL-LEAKING KILLER OF THE PACIFIC OCEAN...AND US.

 Beta radiation includes cesium-137 and strontium-90, two man-made radioisotopes that continue to spew out of the triple meltdowns at Fukushima Dai-ichi, Japan which continue unabated since March 11, 2011. 

 Four-month highs in beta radiation have been detected in Hartford CT, Washington D.C., Fort Wayne IN, Lincoln NE, Toledo OH, Corvalis OR, Amarillo TX and Madison WI.
These highs exceed triple background radiation which, according to Nuclear Regulatory Commission documents, exceed the California Highway Patrol's tripwire level for a hazardous materials situation. 

 In some cases, the new highs are over a dozen times background indicating air that could be dangerous especially to children and pregnant women.

 [NOTE: SEPTEMBER 6, 2015: THOSE LEVELS HAVE ONCE AGAIN GREATLY INCREASED. FORT WAYNE INDIANA WAS JUST PEAKED AT OVER 1,300 CPMs AND 2 OTHER CITIES WERE ALSO OVER 1,000 CPMs.

 THE MAIN PROBLEM WITH THIS REPORT IS THAT THE EPA, JUST SINCE FUKUSHIMA, HAS SHUT DOWN ALL BUT 44 MONITORING SITES OF ITS PREVIOUS 124 SITES!

 WHY WOULD THEY STOP MONITORING 80 SITES WHEN THEY KNEW WE WOULD GET HIT CONTINUOUSLY BY FUKUSHIMA CONTAMINATION?

WHY ISN'T ANYONE MONITORING FOR CESIUM 134, THE VERY SPECIFIC "MARKER" FOR THE DAIICHI LEAKS?

"Detailed source term estimation of the atmospheric release for the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station accident by coupling simulations of atmospheric dispersion model with improved deposition scheme and oceanic dispersion model"

 ~ We estimate a detailed time trend of atmospheric releases during the [Fukushima] accident by combining environmental monitoring data with atmospheric model simulations from WSPEEDI-II (Worldwide version of System for Prediction of Environmental Emergency Dose Information)

 Our new source term often agreed well with that of Stohl et al. (2012) [the Stohl et al. cesium-137 release estimate is by far the highest of any included in this study.

 The total amounts of released 131I and 137Cs estimated in this work… were clearly larger than those of the previous work for both radionuclides. The major reason for this increase was that when the plume flowed toward the Pacific Ocean we directly computed a significantly larger release amount…

 [NOTE: THEY KEEP NOT MENTIONING CESIUM 134, THE "FINGERPRINT" OF THE DAIICHI POWER PLANT. THAT CESIUM 134 HAS A HALF LIFE OF JUST OVER 2 YEARS MEANS ANYWHERE IT IS FOUND SINCE THE MELTDOWNS MEANS IT IS STILL LEAKING INTO OUR ENVIRONMENT!

AND IT IS BEING FOUND, OVER FOUR YEARS AFTER THE ACCIDENTS.]

SPECIAL NOTE:

 WE DO KNOW THAT BOTH THE AIR AND THE OCEAN IS CONTINUOUSLY CARRYING THIS NUCLEAR FALLOUT TO AMERICA.

 WE DO NOT KNOW WHY SEVERAL MONITORING STATIONS HAVE BEEN SHUT-DOWN OR ARE NO LONGER REPORTING THIS ONGOING GLOBAL EMERGENCY.

 AMERICANS DESERVE TO KNOW!

 This study continues:
The plume discharged… over the Pacific Ocean and increased air concentration at Sacramento California, Melbourne Florida, Sand Point Alaska, and Oahu Hawaii… a hydrogen explosion also occurred [during this time period] at Unit 3 at 11:01 on 14 March.

The WSPEEDI simulation showed that the plume discharged by the hydrogen explosion… reached the west coast of the United States on 18–19 and 21–22 March, Sand Point in Alaska on 20–21 March, and Oahu in Hawaii on 20–21 March. [The highest release rate over the course of the disaster occurred Mar. 12 at 15:30 JST]

THAT WAS IN 2011, BUT WE WERE LED TO BELIEVE THAT WE HAD NOTHING AT ALL TO CONCERN OURSELVES WITH, THAT THE "RADIOACTIVE CLOUD" WOULD NOT AFFECT THE U.S. FOR YEARS, IF EVER!

 WHY LIE, OR MISLEAD?

FUKUSHIMA FALLOUT WAS DETECTED FROM COAST-TO-COAST ALL OVER AMERICA ALL DURING THOSE FIRST TWO WEEKS AND NASA FOUND THAT IT CONTINUED INTO THE 3rd AND EVEN 4th WEEKS!

POLONIUM AND RADIOACTIVE IODINE WERE DETECTED NEAR THE NASA SITE IN MISSISSIPPI AFTER THE 2 WEEKS HAD PASSED!

 THEY EVEN FOUND THOSE TWO ON SURFACE WATER OF THE PEARL RIVER!

 Strontium-90 from Fukushima found along west coast of N. America — “Plutonium… might be in the plume” — Scientist: There needs to be more monitoring… No sign radioactive releases from plant are going to stop.

 A scientist at the University of Victoria is trying to find… residents who’d like to submit samples to be tested for radiation.

 Professor Jay Cullen said a plume of radioactive material from Japan was tracked across the Pacific and arrived off the west coast of North America last June, 2013.

TWO YEARS LATER!

 [REMEMBER THAT THE JAPANESE SCIENTISTS TRACKED THE INITIAL PLUME IN MARCH, 2011!]

 “As of 2013, (it was) detected inshore along Vancouver Island,” Dr. Cullen said
Several radioactive materials have been found, with Cesium 137 the most potentially problematic.
The plume also contains other radioactive material, including  STRONTIUM-90.
Low levels of plutonium and tritium might be in the plume.

 "There is no sign the release is going to stop," Dr. Cullen said.
He said he thinks there needs to be more monitoring, especially since the radioactive discharge will continue.

 WE SHOULD BE VERY GRATEFUL TO CANADA, WHICH, ALTHOUGH NOT ACTIVELY MONITORING MUCH, IS MONITORING FOOD FISH MUCH BETTER THAN THE USA IS.

HERE'S WHAT THE REPORTS ON THAT TELL US:


 Of the fish being sold to Canada, in 2012, the Vancouver Sun recorded the number of specimens testing positive for Cesium-137, namely:

100 per cent of monkfish, carp, seaweed and shark; 94% of cod and anchovies; 93% of tuna and eels; 92% of sardines; 91% of halibut; 73% of mackerel.

 MANY SCIENTISTS AND NUCLEAR EXPERTS HAVE SAID THAT WE NEED MORE AND BETTER MONITORING, SO WHY DON'T WE HAVE THAT?

WHY THE GROWING CONCERN?
BECAUSE MASSIVE DIE-OFFS ARE OCCURRING IN THE PACIFIC, ALL ALONG OUR WESTERN SHORELINE.

BECAUSE BILLIONS OF MARINE ANIMALS ARE DYING OR HAVE DIED, HAVE CHANGED MIGRATION PATTERNS, ARE SPONTANEOUSLY ABORTING DEFORMED FETUSES, HAVING YOUNG THAT DIE WITHIN HOURS OR DAYS, AND ADULT ANIMALS ARE SHOWING UP WITH HORRIBLE, UNEXPLAINED LESIONS, EYES THAT ARE "MELTED", SKIN THAT IS FALLING OFF THEIR BODIES, FUR FALLING OUT.

 MARINE SCIENTISTS HAVE PLEADED FOR MORE FREQUENT AND MORE EXTENSIVE TESTS OF CARCASSES.  
SO FAR, TESTS WERE DONE ON ONLY 2 WHALE CARCASSES, ONLY TWO OF THE HUNDREDS THAT HAVE DIED OF THE "GREAT WHALES". 

BECAUSE OF THE SUDDEN APPEARANCE OF THYROID CANCER AND ANOMALOUS LESIONS IN INFANTS AND TODDLERS THERE, THE AMERICAN PEDIATRIC ASSOCIATION HAS BEEN CONCERNED ABOUT THAT SINCE 2011!

Jordi Vives i Batlle, Radioecologist at Belgian Nuclear Research Centre:

 "The Fukushima accident is the only major nuclear accident that has resulted in the direct discharge of radioactive materials into a coastal environment… Radionuclides can also become biologically concentrated. 

 There is ample evidence of this for I, Cs, Pu, and Am in many species of marine biota… Cs will tend to accumulate in fish… Pu and Am will tend to accumulate in benthic crustaceans and mollusks… potentially protracted times of elimination after the initial influx of radioactivity has dispersed from the area [should be accounted for]… irregular pulses of radioactivity [may have been released into] the marine environment [and] ambient concentrations could vary rapidly… 

 Conservative screening approaches based on equilibrium concentration factors may therefore be inadequate. 
Such a situation calls for… models that are capable of calculating time-integrated dose for a pulsed release of radioactivity… 

 Little is known regarding long-term effect to entire populations, a limitation that is unlikely to be resolved in the near future… accidental radiological releases pose particular challenges to the evaluation or impact in marine ecosystems [such as] scarcity of data from previous accidents, and another is the scarcity or information on how radiation affects interconnected populations of marine biota. 

 Yet another challenge is the dynamic nature of the possible releases… the complexity of the marine environment [has] potential for local concentration and long-range dispersion."

 THE CONTAMINATION CONTINUES, AND IT WILL NEVER STOP!
HOW MUCH MORE WILL IT TAKE BEFORE OUR ENTIRE PACIFIC OCEAN IS DEVOID OF ALL LIFE?

 ABSTRACT: The accident at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, precipitated by the earthquake and subsequent tsunami that struck the northeastern coast of Japan in March 2011, has raised concerns about the potential impact to marine biota posed by the release of radioactive water and radionuclide particles into the environment. 

 The Fukushima accident is the only major nuclear accident that has resulted in the direct discharge of radioactive materials into a coastal environment. This article briefly summarizes what is currently understood about the effects of radioactive wastewaters and radionuclides to marine life.

RUSSIAN Officials:    
Expect airborne radiation releases from Fukushima to increase — Seafood catches off U.S. Pacific coast more likely to be contaminated than ones far closer to Japan — ‘Gravest danger’ to public is if they eat these products.
Maxim Shingarkin, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Natural Resources (Lower House of the Federal Assembly of Russia), Dec. 25, 2013: 

 “Because of the world ocean currents, the seafood that’s caught off the US Pacific coast is more likely to contain radionuclides than the seafood in the Sea of Okhotsk, which is by far closer to Japan. It is these marine products that may find their way to the tables of different countries’ residents that pose the gravest danger... not all fuel has been removed from the damaged nuclear reactors yet. 

 We can therefore expect atmospheric radiation releases as a result of the heating up of reactors.”

Vladimir Slivyak, lecturer at the Russia’s National Research University Higher School of Economics and co-chairman of Ekozashchita, Dec. 25, 2013:

 Cynthia Daily, operator of the nonprofit Discovery Bay Raptor Rehabilitation and Education Center in Port Townsend has stated, "there is no food out there.”

According to COASST seabird program coordinator Jane Dolliver, the reason for the massive die-off “is the $3 million question,” but she feels that it has to do with more than just a shortage of food.

 “If it was only a lack of food, then more species would be affected."

 The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration determined the current number of sea lion strandings warrants an investigation. 

 The agency is calling the situation an unusual mortality event.

  Under the Marine Mammal Protection Act of 1972 (as amended), an Unusual Mortality Event (UME) has been declared for California sea lions in California from January 2013 through the present. 

 Beginning in January 2013, elevated strandings of California sea lion pups have been observed in Southern California (Santa Barbara, Ventura, Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego Counties). 
The area with the highest reported stranding rates is currently Los Angeles County, followed by Orange County, and strandings are increasing in San Diego County.

  AS OF OCTOBER 1, 2015, A NEW UNUSUAL MORTALITY EVENT WAS DECLARED FOR GUADALUPE FUR SEALS, WASHING ASHORE IN CALIFORNIA BY THE HUNDREDS, MOSTLY YOUNG ONES, EMACIATED, NO FOOD IN THEIR STOMACHS.

Hanford Nuclear Waste Tank Allowed To Keep Leaking For Over A Year, According To Deal

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — A new deal allows a radioactive waste storage tank to continue leaking for more than a year before its contents are pumped out at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation, the nation's most polluted nuclear site.

 "Every day this tank leaks creates additional dangers," said Gerry Pollet, executive director of Heart of America Northwest, a long-time Hanford watchdog group. "Federal and state laws require that leaking tanks of any toxic waste must be emptied immediately. The Energy Department should not get special dispensation just because Hanford officials failed to take action over the past three years to have equipment in place to remove the wastes or to plan to build new storage tanks."

 The deal to pump nuclear waste tank AY-102, announced late Monday, is between the U.S. Department of Energy and the Washington State Department of Ecology. Under the deal, pumping of the double-walled tank would not begin until 2016, and it would take a year to complete.

 HANFORD HAS $2 BILLION APPROVED BY CONGRESS TO GET IT RIGHT EVERY YEAR, SO WHAT DO THEY SPEND THOSE BILLIONS ON?  

 "Does the budget for Hanford (more than $2 billion) protect workers from toxic chemical exposures, provide an Operational Readiness Review of the nuclear safety of the Waste Treatment Plant, and fund construction of new double-shell tanks to replace the leaking ones?"  

  "Bechtel has had a particularly troubled performance history with the Department of Energy. Under Bechtel management estimated costs for the Waste Treatment Plant at the Hanford nuclear reservation soared from $3.5 billion to $13 billion, with numerous complaints of retaliation against whistleblowers."

 As part of ongoing inspections of the ground conditions… they’ve identified some of the – not the backs… but the ribs, the actual sides of these drifts– we had one specific area that had a large section the was starting to come separate from the wall itself… so that was about a 200 foot area that we put new bolts in…"

AMERICAN CORPORATIONS PAID TO SEND JOBS OVERSEAS

While the GOP wants you to see mega-corporations as "job-creators", they fail to tell you where those jobs are created...as in OVERSEAS.

THEY ALSO FAIL TO TELL YOU THAT THE AMERICAN TAXPAYERS "SUBSIDIZE", aka, PAYS, COMPANIES TO MAKE THAT MOVE OVERSEAS AND DUMP AMERICAN WORKERS.
THEY'VE PASSED "BILLS" TO MAKE THAT POSSIBLE.

 How many American jobs have been taken away from Americans and given to foreigners?
ABOUT 588,000 EVERY YEAR SINCE 2005.

LOW-END ESTIMATES PUT THE NUMBER AT ABOUT 3.4 MILLION JOBS CREATED BY AMERICAN COMPANIES OUTSIDE THE U.S. IN JUST THE PAST 10 YEARS!

ALMOST 1 MILLION JOBS LEFT THE U.S. BOUND FOR FOREIGN SHORES FROM 2003 TO 2005!

WE DO KNOW, BECAUSE OF HAPPILY POSTED EARNINGS ACCOUNTS, THAT THE PROFITS FROM OUTSOURCING AMERICAN JOBS IS MAKING THOSE CORPORATIONS VERY WEALTHY!
THEY CAN EACH EASILY AFFORD TO BUY A FEW CHEAP POLITICIANS! 

And, unlike labor unions and others, CORPORATIONS ALSO DO NOT HAVE TO DISCLOSE TO SHAREHOLDERS, OR TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC, HOW MUCH MONEY THEY SPEND DURING ELECTIONS TO "GET THE RIGHT GUY ELECTED"!
THE ONLY AGENCY THEY MUST REPORT TO IS THE IRS, WHICH DISCLOSES NOTHING TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC!

WHILE A SUPREME COURT DECISION IN 2010 FORBIDS CORPORATIONS FROM SPENDING MONEY FROM THEIR "GENERAL FUNDS" TO INFLUENCE FEDERAL ELECTIONS, JUST ONE YEAR LATER, DONATIONS BY CORPORATIONS HAD SKYROCKETED!
By 2011 a study by the Center for Responsive Politics already found that “the percentage of spending coming from groups that do not disclose their donors has risen from 1 percent to 47 percent since the 2006 midterm elections."

THE GOP DOESN'T WANT AMERICANS TO GET HIGHER PAY, AND HAVE REPEATEDLY VOTED AGAINST AN INCREASE IN MINIMUM WAGE, BUT, WORSE STILL,THEY DON'T WANT THEIR FRIENDS FROM WALL STREET TO CREATE JOBS IN AMERICA AT ALL!

YOUR CONGRESSMEN VOTED TO SUBSIDIZE AMERICAN BUSINESSES IN THEIR MOVES TO OTHER NATIONS, AND YOUR TAX DOLLARS ARE PAYING THOSE BUSINESSES TO PACK UP AND LEAVE YOU JOBLESS!

"'Thirty-five big U.S.-based multinational companies added jobs much faster than other U.S. employers in the past two years, but nearly three-fourths of those jobs were overseas.
Those companies, which include Wal-Mart Stores Inc., International Paper Co., Honeywell International Inc. and United Parcel Service Inc., boosted their employment at home by 3.1%, or 113,000 jobs, between 2009 and 2011, the same rate of increase as the nation's other employers. But they also added more than 333,000 jobs in their far-flung—and faster-growing— foreign operations.

The data show that global companies, aided by overseas revenue, are faring better than purely domestic companies during the economic recovery. Nearly 60% of the revenue growth between 2009 and 2011 at the companies in the Journal's analysis came from outside the U.S.

Partly as a result, these companies are more likely to focus their resources and people outside the U.S. 
The nation's largest private-sector employer, Wal-Mart, added 100,000 jobs outside the U.S. last year; its head count [INSIDE] the U.S. has been flat since 2007.'"

THE REPUBLICANS IN CONGRESS, NOW THE MAJORITY, HAVE SAID THEY WILL FIGHT TO KEEP THAT FROM HAPPENING!

YES, AMERICA, THE GOP WILL FIGHT TO MAKE SURE THEIR RICHEST DONORS GET RICHER AND AMERICA LOSES MORE JOBS! 

Obama wants to institute a new, for-the-first-time, and only a ONE-TIME tax on mega-corporations so the government can begin work on upgrading our crumbling roads, railways, bridges, ports, etc,
His new budget, just presented to Congress, proposes a very low 14 percent tax on about $2 TRILLION in profits that corporations have been keeping overseas in order to avoid corporate income taxes here.
TWO TRILLION IN PROFITS FOR THESE COMPANIES, ZERO FOR AMERICA OR AMERICANS!

The tax would be a sizable hit on multinational companies and a way of discouraging them from parking money in foreign countries.

This would ADD almost $300 BILLION to our economy!
And those big businesses would only pay this tax ONCE!
That leaves them A LOT of profit, and the SAME or MORE profit each year after this!

BUT THE GOP SAYS NO!
NO, TAX THE MIDDLE AND LOWER-CLASS AND LEAVE OUR RICH PALS ALONE!
MAKE THE GUYS WHO LOST THEIR JOBS TO CHINA PAY THEIR EX-COMPANIES TO MOVE TO CHINA AND STAY THERE!

HERE'S ANOTHER REASON THE GOP HATES THIS IDEA....IT WOULD LOWER TAXES FOR THE "LITTLE GUYS"!

THE GOP IS LYING AND SAYING IT WILL BE COSTLY TO THE AVERAGE CITIZEN, BUT THAT REALLY IS JUST A LIE!
ECONOMIC EXPERTS HAVE RUN THE NUMBERS AND FOUND THAT:

"'The vast majority of households in the bottom four quintiles would pay lower taxes — or receive larger refunds — as a result of the policy proposals. Those in the lowest quintile would by far save the most. '"

Overall, U.S. manufacturers have added a lousy 470,000 jobs AT HOME in the past 5 years, since January 2010, but that was after CUTTING nearly five million jobs over the prior decade!

THEY ADDED BACK LESS THAN HALF A MILLION JOBS HERE AT HOME, AFTER CUTTING 5 MILLION JOBS?
BUT CREATED 3.4 TO 5.8 MILLION JOBS OVERSEAS IN THE SAME 10 YEARS?

Small budget provision, which repeals part of Dodd-Frank, allows banks to back their riskiest activities with the savings accounts of regular Americans.

Congress has agreed to use federal deposit insurance, which was designed to protect the savings accounts of consumers, to cover risky trading by the nation’s biggest banks.

In a small provision in the budget bill, Congress agreed to allow banks to house their trading of swaps and derivatives alongside customer deposits, which are insured by the federal government against losses.

“It’s both a stealth move and indefensible,” said Dennis Kelleher, the head of Better Markets, a group that argues for great oversight of banks. In a note to clients, he later called it “a sneaky, midnight repeal”.
“If Wall Street gets the upside in big bonuses from its high-risk derivatives deals, then it should also have to pay the downside for any losses,” Kelleher wrote.
The new budget provision once again acts as a promise that taxpayers will foot the bill for risky trading and speculation, Kelleher said.

“If things go wrong, [the banks] get to run to the Fed for bailouts. That’s incredibly valuable to them,” he added.

Richard Trumka, the head of labor union AFL-CIO, said his organizations also objected to the budget provision.

“Dodd-Frank forced too-big-to-fail banks to move potentially toxic speculation in derivatives out of their government-insured banks,” Trumka said in a statement. “Wall Street’s friends in Congress are trying to once again put the public on the hook for the most dangerous aspects of the financial system.”

The breaks enjoyed by super rich at the expense of Joe the Plumber are such that even Warren Buffett, Chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway and one of the richest men in America, publicly acknowledged the disparity. Noting that his 2010 tax rate was lower than that paid by 20 of his employees.
“While the poor and middle class fight for us in Afghanistan, and while most Americans struggle to make ends meet, we mega-rich continue to get our extraordinary tax breaks,” Buffett said. “My friends and I have been coddled long enough by a billionaire-friendly Congress. It’s time for our government to get serious about shared sacrifice.”
The House this week defeated by a vote of 168-243 House Resolution 5 which would have barred tax deductions for executive pay packages in excess of $1 million unless the company raised worker pay by a percentage tied to its productivity.
We suppose the executives of Wal-Mart need all the help they can get.
Voting “no” on the measure were newly elected Louisiana Representatives  Garrett Graves (6th District) and Ralph Abraham (5th District), as well as Steve Scalise (1st District), Charles Boustany (3rd District) and John Fleming (4th District).
We don’t feel that extending even more generous tax breaks for corporate executives to the detriment of those on whose backs they made their fortunes was in the best interest of Louisiana citizens who elected them to be their voices in Washington.

In soft-money contributions to political parties, rather than donations made directly to candidates through political action committees, the business advantage is 97-to-1 ($972 million for business to $10 million for labor).
