"Communications with the STEREO Behind spacecraft were interrupted on October 1, 2014 immediately after a planned reset of the spacecraft performed as part of a test of solar conjunction operations.

The spacecraft telemetry indicated an anomaly in the guidance and control system.

On Sunday, August 21, 2016, contact was reestablished with the STEREO Behind spacecraft for the first time in 22 months.

However, no signal has been received since September 23, 2016, which indicates that the spacecraft's orbital motion has carried it to a position where either the low gain antennae cannot currently communicate with Earth, or the solar panels are not sufficiently illuminated.

The reality of the matter is that our power grid is in desperate need of updating, and there is very little or no physical security at most of these substations."

" The Wall Street Journal’s Rebecca Smith reports that a former Federal Energy Regulatory Commission chairman is acknowledging for the first time that a group of snipers shot up a Silicon Valley substation for 19 minutes last year, knocking out 17 transformers before slipping away into the night.

The attack was “the most significant incident of domestic terrorism involving the grid that has ever occurred” in the U.S., Jon Wellinghoff, who was chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission at the time, told Smith."

ANOTHER HUGE 'CORONAL MASS EJECTION (CME) JUST BARELY MISSED EARTH IN 2012...CONGRESS WAS TOO BUSY APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR OUR NEW INVASIONS IN THE MIDDLE EAST TO NOTICE...STILL IGNORING THE WORN-OUT AMERICAN POWER GRID.

ONE OF THE MOST HONEST STATEMENTS I'VE READ ABOUT ALL THIS STILL FALLS SHORT OF THE REALITY OF WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN THE GRID FAILS, FOR WHATEVER REASON:

"Despite our modern infrastructure and technological advancements, we are one catastrophe away from being thrown back into the stone age.

If the grid goes down the gas stops pumping, America’s trucks stop running, and grocery store shelves stop getting stocked.

Within three days of that all hell breaks loose.

We’re talking about nothing short of a total breakdown in law & order and tens of millions of people scavenging, looting and killing for food."

Researchers from the University of Colorado Boulder recently completed analyzing data from a Coronal Mass Ejection that took place in the summer of 2012. The CME, which was reportedly the most powerful electrical discharge ever recorded from the sun, narrowly missed earth. It was not “earth directed,” meaning the electro-magnetic mass was ejected by the sun when it was facing away from our planet. However, had it occurred just a week prior, the highly charged particles would have struck earth and, according to CU-Boulder Professor Daniel Baker, would have led to nothing short of a technological disaster across the globe.

The CME itself was massive… and its speed was unprecedented, clocking in at 7 million miles per hour.

While typical coronal mass ejections from the sun take two or three days to reach Earth, the 2012 event traveled from the sun’s surface to Earth in just 18 hours.

“The speed of this event was as fast or faster than anything that has been seen in the modern space age,” said Baker.

While early warning systems are capable of detecting CME’s and solar flares ahead of time, this particular event happened so quickly that it is unclear if monitoring groups at NASA’s Solar Shield Project would have been able to send alerts to emergency services teams in time.

Had it struck earth, says Baker, it would have caused damage so significant that modern electrical systems would have been fried.

Had it hit Earth, the July 2012 event likely would have created a technological disaster by short-circuiting satellites, power grids, ground communication equipment and even threatening the health of astronauts and aircraft crews.

We have proposed that the 2012 event be adopted as the best estimate of the worst case space weather scenario…

We argue that this extreme event should be immediately employed by the space weather community to model severe space weather effects on technological systems such as the electrical power grid.

I liken it to war games — since we have the information about the event, let’s play it through our various models and see what happens.

If we do this, we would be a significant step closer to providing policymakers with real-world, concrete kinds of information that can be used to explore what would happen to various technologies on Earth and in orbit rather than waiting to be clobbered by a direct hit.

Most policy makers have not taken the threat of an earth-directed solar flare seriously, even though a senior member of the Congressional Homeland Security Committee recently warned that there is a 100% Chance of a Severe Geo-Magnetic Event Capable of Crippling Our Electric Grid.

If such an event were to happen Congressman Roscoe Bartlett, who has advised people to develop individual preparedness plans based on the threat of massive solar flares or electro-magnetic pulse detonations, says that it would take upwards of 18 months to bring the grid back online because of a decaying national infrastructure.

"We could have events in the future where the power grid will go down and it’s not, in any reasonable time, coming back up. For instance, if when the power grid went down some of our large transformers were destroyed, damaged beyond use, we don’t make any of those in this country. They’re made overseas and you order one and 18 months to two years later they will deliver it. Our power grid is very vulnerable. It’s very much on edge. Our military knows that.

There are a number of events that could create a situation in the cities where civil unrest would be a very high probability. And, I think that those who can, and those who understand, need to take advantage of the opportunity when these winds of strife are not blowing to move their families out of the city."

If a solar kill shot were to occur and short out the electrical power grid, it has been estimated that some nine out of ten Americans would be dead within one year as transportation systems broke down, food delivery ceased, commerce systems no longer functioned, communications equipment became inoperable and utilities, such as water treatment plants, were incapable of delivery services.

The ramifications would be serious and almost immediate according to a 132-page NASA funded report on Understanding the Economic and Societal Impacts of Severe Space Weather:

To estimate the scale of such a failure, report co-author John Kappenmann of the Metatech Corporation looked at the great geomagnetic storm of May 1921, which produced ground currents as much as ten times stronger than the 1989 Quebec storm, and modeled its effect on the modern power grid.

He found more than 350 transformers at risk of permanent damage and 130 million people without power.

The loss of electricity would ripple across the social infrastructure with “water distribution affected within several hours; perishable foods and medications lost in 12-24 hours; loss of heating/air conditioning, sewage disposal, phone service, fuel re-supply and so on.”

A new report by Sen. Tom Coburn (R., Okla.) details widespread cybersecurity breaches in the federal government, despite billions in spending to secure the nation’s most sensitive information.

The report, released on Tuesday [NOTE: THIS WAS IN 2014], found that approximately 40 percent of breaches go undetected, and highlighted “serious vulnerabilities in the government’s efforts to protect its own civilian computers and networks.”

“In the past few years, we have seen significant breaches in cybersecurity which could affect critical U.S. infrastructure,” the report said.
“Data on the nation’s weakest dams, including those which could kill Americans if they failed, were stolen by a malicious intruder. Nuclear plants’ confidential cybersecurity plans have been left unprotected. Blueprints for the technology undergirding the New York Stock Exchange were exposed to hackers.”

NASA has already begun implementing plans to deal with large scale power failure from a space weather anomaly, and NASA head Charles Bolden recently issued a video alert through the NASA Headquarters of Emergency Operations in which he claimed he had “been made aware of some things” that prompted him to urge NASA employees and their families to prepare for an event that could come like 9/11.

This was recently echoed by outgoing DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano, who has said that a cyber attack or natural disaster on the U.S. power grid the likes of which we have never seen is imminent.

Following Napolitano’s comments it was revealed that the United States, Canada, Mexico and hundreds of private companies were planning a massive power grid down drill to simulate what an EMP attack or solar flare might look like.

The disaster drill is being described as a crisis practice unlike anything the real power grid has ever experienced.
The GridEX II drill Nov. 13-14 will focus primarily on how governments will react if the electrical grid fails and, for instance, the food supply chain collapses.

As we saw in limited grid-down scenarios like those following Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Sandy, when the grid goes down you better be ready. BEDOUIN PEOPLE ARE OFTEN CALLED "THE IDEAL ARAB" BY THE MANY WHO ADMIRE THEM FOR THEIR FIERCELY INDEPENDENT CULTURE, THEIR STAMINA WHEN FACED WITH THE HARSHNESS OF THEIR LIFESTYLE, THEIR POETRY AND POETICAL LANGUAGE, THEIR ABILITY TO BREED THE FINEST ANIMALS, ESPECIALLY THE "ARABIAN' HORSES, AND THEIR 'CODE OF HONOR'.

THESE ANCIENT TRIBES DID NOT SET OUT TO MINGLE THEIR BLOODLINES WITH FOREIGN INVADERS AS DID THE "SETTLED" TRIBES WHO MIXED FREELY WITH EACH INVASIVE WAVE AND SO THE BEDOUIN KEPT PURE THEIR LINEAGE AND THEIR VERY DISTINCT LANGUAGE FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS.

BY KEEPING ON THE MOVE, THEY KEPT AWAY FROM THOSE WHO CAME CONQUERING.

BUT ARE THE BEDOUIN THE TRUE "INDIGENOUS PEOPLE" OF WHAT IS NOW ISRAEL, JORDAN, SAUDI ARABIA, IRAQ, IRAN, ETC?

In the book "Land, Indigenous Peoples and Conflict", the authors reference more than the Tea Room has read on the conflict of whether or not the bedouin are "INDIGENOUS PEOPLE" to Israel.
That books shows the history of these nomadic Tribes that pre-date written history.

While a bit "one-sided" the book "Indigenous (In)Justice: Human Rights Law and Bedouin Arabs in the Naqab/Negev" does lend credence to the documented historical, quite ancient presence of the Bedouin inside what are now Israel's borders.

That Israel herself recorded the use of Bedouin Tribes and their caravans to transport materials for the first Temple should speak volumes to any who may question who might have any remote claim to being the Indigenous People of that region.

I must agree that these Bedouin are the ONLY People with legitimate claim to being INDIGENOUS to Israel, because, after all, when Israel exited Egypt and came at last into the "Promised Land", it was BEDOUIN WELLS which sustained the Tribes of Israel in that Negev Desert.

I am NOT saying the Bedouins had been "conquerors" for they didn't need to conquer.
But, they had also not been conquered.
They merely existed as they had for centuries before Israel's arrival.

We can be certain there was conflict and battles between the nomads, both Jewish and Bedouin, that battles were fought, but we CANNOT say that EVERY Bedouin Tribe was defeated, can we, honestly?

Looking at the factual history, the long, well-recorded history of the Bedouin as opposed to the very SHORT "history" of the so-called "palestinians", who didn't even exist until the modern world's 20th century press and the PLO invented them, which People would Israel perhaps be more 'comfortable' acknowledging as INDIGENOUS?

THE FAKES OR THE FACTUAL?

That even the Arabic nations surrounding Israel tolerate the Bedouin on a much grander scale than any Arab nation is willing to tolerate make-believe "palestinians" should speak to anyone who has never been in those lands, up-close, and seen first-hand who is who and who is accepted by their peers as "ORIGINAL PEOPLE".

Let us NEVER FORGET that it has been the common fate of indigenous peoples all over the world to have their histories erased and retold by the conquerors, and all too common for indigenous people to be rendered powerless participants in this history writing process.

Let us also NEVER FORGET the INDIGENOUS PEOPLE of Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and smaller "island nations", and in the Americas whom we have seen in OUR lifetimes swept aside and packed away as much out of sight as possible in the name of either "God" or "PROGRESS".

There is little room in 'modern society' for what are perceived to be "backward cultures".
They must be assimilated, 'modernized', made to comply with the wishes of the 'conquerors'.

IT SEEMS ALMOST CRIMINAL TO ME FOR ANY MODERN NATION TO ENCOURAGE OR DEMAND "ASSIMILATION" FOR THESE ANCIENT CULTURES OF EVERY CONTINENT ARE RICH IN THINGS THAT WOULD HELP US ALL LEARN TO COPE AND SURVIVE SHOULD NUCLEAR WAR OR ANY GLOBAL CATASTROPHE THROW US ALL BACK INTO THE STONE AGE.

THE BEDOUIN SEEM TO MOSTLY JUST WANT TO BE ACKNOWLEDGED AS HAVING BEEN THERE FOR CENTURIES, BEFORE CURRENT 'OWNERS' TOOK OVER, AND THAT THEY MAY HAVE MUCH MORE "RIGHT" TO BE ALLOWED TO CONTINUE THEIR LIVES AS THEY CHOOSE THAN ANYONE CALLED A "palestinian".

AT THE RISK OF SEEMING CRASS, THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE BEDOUIN AND THE "palestinian" IS AKIN TO THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE FEDERALLY RECOGNIZED 'EASTERN BAND CHEROKEE' AND THE STATE RECOGNIZED PSEUDO-TRIBES WHO SPRING UP WHEN WHITES WANT TO "PLAY INDIAN" AND WHO MERELY CALL THEMSELVES 'CHEROKEE'.
SOME OF THOSE STATE 'TRIBES' SELL MEMBERSHIP CARDS FOR $40 TO $100 ONLINE, BUT THOSE WHO "JOIN" WILL NEVER BE 'CHEROKEE', JUST WANNABES.

THOSE WHO CALL THEMSELVES "palestinians" ARE CLAIMING TO BE RELATED TO THOSE PHILISTINES OF LONG AGO, THOSE AEGEAN PEOPLE, NOT EVEN ARABIC, WHOM, BY THE WAY, THE BEDOUIN ALSO HELPED ANNIHILATE FROM OFF THE FACE OF THE EARTH.
THE FEW PHILISTINES WHO ESCAPED THE WRATH OF BOTH ARABS AND JEWS SLITHERED BACK TO THE AEGEAN ISLANDS THEY CAME FROM AND WERE ASSIMILATED, NO SIGN OF THEM REMAINS, NOT EVEN A GENNETIC TRACE.

THE PROOF OF THE ANCIENT LINEAGE IS IN THE DNA OF THE BEDOUIN, AND THE PROOF OF THE LIE IS IN THE DNA OF THOSE WHO MERELY CLAIM THAT INDIGENOUS TRIBE TITLE, THE PLASTIC, BUY-A-CARD FRAUDS, THE FAIRY TALE "palestinians".

FEW ARE AWARE OF THOSE TWO FACTS.

HOW ANCIENT ARE THE BEDOUIN?

THEY CERTAINLY FAR PRE-DATE THOSE WE KNOW TODAY AS SAUDI ARABIANS, JORDANIANS, EVEN LEBANESE, IRAQI, AFGHAN, OR THE COLLECTIVE KNOWN AS "MUSLIMS".

WE CAN TRACE THESE NOMADIC PEOPLE BACK TO AT LEAST 6,000 B,C,E,


WHEN ISRAEL FIRST SWEPT INTO WHAT BECAME KNOWN AS JUDEA AND THEN ISRAEL, THE BEDOUIN WERE THERE.

ROCK CARVINGS ATTRIBUTED TO THE NOMADIC BEDOUIN TRIBES DATING BACK TO 10,000 B.C.E. WERE LEFT SCATTERED ACROSS THE MIDDLE EAST AND NORTHERN AFRICA.

IN "Modern Arabic: Structures, Functions and Varieties", and in "Travels in Asia and Africa. 1325–1354" [C.E/A.D.]  and in many other studies of the Arabic language, we learn that the purest form was and is still attributed to the Bedouin, that  it was that language which far pre-dated what is called "Islamic Arabic".

"The Qur'an does not use the word 'Arab, only the adjective 'arabiyyun . The plural noun 'A'rab indicates the Bedouin tribes who lived in the desert and resisted the message of the Prophet, as for instance in Q 9/97 al-'A'rabu 'ashaddu kufran wanifaqan 'the Bedouin are the worst in disbelief and hypocrisy'.

After the period of the conquests, however, the sedentary population began to regard the free-roaming Bedouin, whose language preserved the purity of pre-Islamic times, as the ideal type of Arab, and the term kalam al-'Arab 'language of the Arabs' came to denote the pure, unaffected language of the Bedouin.
The language of pre-Islamic poetry, lay in the Central or Eastern part of the peninsula, possibly in the Nagd ."

IN THE VERY LONG LIST OF ALL THE KNOWN LANGUAGES OF THE WORLD, OVER 7,000 OF THEM, YOU WILL NOT FIND A "palestininan"LANGUAGE.

IN ALL ETHNOLOGUES, YOU WILL FIND 'BEDAWI/BEDAWIYET'
YOU WILL ALWAYS FIND DIFFERENT DIALECTS OF BEDAWI ('BEDOUIN'), EVEN A BEDAWI SIGN LANGUAGE LISTED.
WHY?
BECAUSE THESE DIALECTS HAVE EXISTED FOR CENTURIES, MILLENNIA, BECAUSE THE BEDAWI/BEDOUIN ALWAYS WERE AND ARE A REAL PEOPLE WITH AN ANCIENT HISTORY, UNLIKE THE VERY NEW "palestinians".

PERHAPS THE WORLD WOULD DO WELL TO ASK A BEDOUIN ELDER WHAT THE LAND WAS CALLED BEFORE IT WAS EVER CALLED 'PALESTINE' BY THE FOREIGN INVADERS.

BUT DON'T USE THE EXACT WORD "PALESTINE", AS THERE IS NO "P" IN ANY ARABIC LANGUAGE.

WHEN THE REGION WAS FIRST CALLED BY OTHER THAN ITS ORIGINAL, ANCIENT NAME, THE WORD USED THEN AND NOW AMONGST ARABIC-SPEAKING PEOPLE WAS SPOKEN AS "FALASTIN", OR "FILASTIN, OFTEN CORRUPTED TO "BILASTIN'" OR EVEN "BALESTINE" BY THOSE RESIDING INSIDE THE BORDERS OF PRESENT-DAY ISRAEL.

THERE WAS NO 'PALESTINE' FOR THEM SO THEY HAD TO INVENT AN ARABIC WORD THAT MATCHED WHAT THE ROMANS CREATED IN THE FIRST CENTURY BCE./AD.

FROM 1911 TO 1948, A DAILY NEWSPAPER PUBLISHED THERE BY MUSLIMS NAMED ITSELF "FILASTIN".

REMEMBER, THIS WAS BEFORE THE BALFOUR DECLARATION (1917) WHICH GAVE THE JEWS ALL OF WHAT IS NOW 'JORDAN' AND ALL OF WHAT IS NOW THE VERY SMALL NATION KNOWN AS ISRAEL.

THE BOOK "Population Dilemmas in the Middle East" GIVES A RATHER LOPSIDED VIEW, BUT A VIEW WHICH FEW ARE AWARE OF, OF IMMIGRATION INTO AND OUT OF ISRAEL BY THOSE CLAIMING TO BE "palestinians".

IT DEMONSTRATES, SOMEWHAT, THE YEARS OF MOST AND LEAST MIGRATION INTO ISRAEL FROM SURROUNDING NATIONS LIKE SYRIA, LEBANON AND EGYPT.

DURING THESE "MIGRATIONS" OF THE EARLY 1900s, THE BEDOUIN PEOPLE OFTEN COMPLAINED QUITE LOUDLY TO THE BRITISH THAT ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS WERE CROSSING THAT ISRAELI BORDER, STEALING FROM THE NOMADS' FLOCKS, ROBBING THEM OF GOODS, USING THEIR WELLS, AND ATTACKING THEIR WOMEN....ALL TO LITTLE AVAIL.

WHAT MOST WHO WANT TO RECOGNIZE "palestinians" AS A VALID NOMENCLATURE FOR MIGRANTS INTO ISRAEL FAIL TO ADDRESS IS THAT THERE WERE CENSUSES MADE BY THE ROMANS, THE OTTOMAN TURKS AND THE BRITISH OVER THE CENTURIES. 
EXACTLY WHO LIVED IN WHAT IS NOW ISRAEL WAS CLOSELY MONITORED AND COMMENTS MADE SHOW US THE SUDDEN RUSH INTO ISRAEL AS WORLD WAR I WAS ENDING, AND AGAIN, AS WORLD WAR II CAME TO A CLOSE.

WHAT WAS RECORDED BY NEIGHBORING PEOPLE, AND BY THE BEDOUIN THEMSELVES, WAS HOW AND WHEN THE JEWISH PEOPLE ASSUMED DOMINANCE IN THE REGION, WHEN THE JEWISH TRIBES' CONQUESTS BEGAN, THE OUTCOMES OF WARS OF THAT REGION, HOW THE BEDOUIN PEOPLE FARED AFTER EACH WAR, HOW THEY WERE TREATED BY EACH SET OF 'CONQUERORS', WHAT THEY DID TO PRESERVE THEIR CULTURE, THEIR VERY WAY OF LIFE. 

WHILE NO ARABIC NATION IN THE MIDDLE EAST TODAY FLINGS OPEN ITS DOORS TO "palestinians", BUT PLACES "palestinian" IMMIGRANTS" IN SQUALID "CAMPS", TENT CITIES, AND SECTIONS THEM OFF FROM MAINSTREAM SOCIETY INSTEAD, THE ARAB WORLD STILL VERY MUCH ADMIRES AND ACCOMMODATES THE BEDOUIN, TO A POINT.

THE BEDOUIN HAVE A CERTAIN 'NOBILITY' AND ENJOY A FAR MORE FAVORABLE POSITION IN ARABIC SOCIETY THAN ANY "palestinian" EVER WILL. 

NATIONS LIKE EGYPT, JORDAN, LEBANON AND EVEN SYRIA HAVE OFTEN GIVEN THE WORLD THEIR REASONS/EXCUSES FOR ISOLATING AND NOT PREFERRING TO ACCEPT "palestinian" IMMIGRANTS.

THE WORLD ACCEPTS THOSE REASONS AND THE PRESS DOES NOT CONDEMN HOW JORDAN AND EGYPT, ESPECIALLY, HAVE TREATED THOSE WHO CALL THEMSELVES "palestinians".

ARAFAT CLAIMED THAT THE KING OF JORDAN MURDERED 20,000 "palestinians" DURING "BLACK SEPTEMBER" IN 1970, AND KILLED AT LEAST 150-200 MEMBERS OF HIS PLO, THAT HE HIMSELF WAS ALMOST KILLED, BUT WHO IN AMERICA OR ANYWHERE ELSE WANTS TO TALK ABOUT THAT?

ANOTHER SOURCE IN INDIA REPORTED 25,000 KILLED IN THAT ONE MONTH AND SAID PAKISTAN HAD HELPED "BUTCHER" THOSE "palestinians".

THAT THOSE WHO CALL THEMSELVES BY THAT VERY NEW NAME ARE KEPT ISOLATED FORM THE POPULATIONS OF THOSE OTHER ARAB NATIONS IN SQUALID REFUGEE CAMPS IS ALMOST NEVER WRITTEN ABOUT HERE IN THE WEST.

In a post-factual conflict all sides utilise media and social media to reinforce fearful conspiracy theories to render facts irrelevant.

Therefore, many who are anti-Assad will continue to believe he is a despotic tyrant, while those who are pro-Assad will continue to believe the opposition is made up of brutal extremists.

The two groups will consume media that reinforces their point of view and share that with their like-minded social networks, thus the divisions solidify."

"[It's] a fundamentally mistaken assumption that’s often purveyed in the media that what’s happening in Syria is some sort of civil war, some sort of internal conflict, and a lot of narrative has been framed around that.
But I think it’s fundamentally false to assert that.

I think we have to understand what’s happening in Syria as the planned result of a nearly decade-long intervention: foreign-funded, foreign-armed, foreign-supplied, foreign-trained intervention in Syria that has been arming and training Syrian opposition groups – on the record, documentably – back to the Bush administration, as far back as 2006. They were starting to train the opposition forces in Syria.

So we have to understand that this is not some sort of spontaneous uprising; and that as a result there are many different outside forces, including the United States, including the Saudis, the Qataris and others, who are funding and financing their own fighters to go into this conflict.
And many of them are motivated for different reasons and are there for different opportunities and some are motivated as mercenaries, others by Jihad and the chance of establishing an Islamic state. But just because they have the same goal of overthrowing the Assad government doesn’t mean they are there for the same reasons.

"This view is furthered by professor of international relations Mark Almond, who believes that a diffuse groupings all dangerously seeking personal gain may put disarmament process off the rails.

The August 21 attacks in Ghouta, which still there has not been one shred of evidence to suggest that it has been coming from the Syrian government. The weapons inspectors did not conclude that, it was beyond the mandate of their investigation. And in fact all of the evidence continues to point to the fact that it was an attack launched by the rebel groups as a sort of false-flag provocation in order to cross the ‘red line,’ in order to get military intervention from the US and its allies. And in the exact same vein all it would take is one such similar incident for it to be immediately again be blamed on the Assad government and used again as an excuse for calling off that UN Security Council resolution.

So it’s very easy to get this disarmament process off the rails. It would be much more difficult to see this through to completion, even if everyone at the table has the best intentions. All it takes is one rogue group with access to chemical weapons to commit an attack and derail the entire process.

So there isn’t just a civil war within a civil war, but several local civil wars within this conflict in Syria. And I think anybody who thinks that the West can pick and choose who are the good guys and the bad guys is very naïve.

So the idea that we can somehow negotiate with these people is problematic, even though in practice, of course, there are under-the-table contacts, after all. Turkey – a NATO country provides them with a hinterland through which they’re able to operate. Large numbers of foreign fighters – I’ve seen this myself from Tunisia, for instance – come via Turkey, going to Syria. So there is in fact, if you like, a NATO ‘necessary’ link with these radical groups. They couldn’t really operate in northern Syria without the connivance and, at least, toleration without Turkey and, by extension, NATO partners."

The US and Britain went to war without any planning for what would happen after Saddam's removal. They dismantled all the building blocks of a country and turned it into a failed state where militias and criminal gangs took over.
Kidnapping for ransom became common; intellectuals were assassinated.

This led to the rise of Al-Qaeda and now ISIS in Iraq rather than the peace and democracy promised by the US. More than 250,000 Iraqis have been killed to date and millions more became refugees in foreign lands.

Just on Sunday, bombings in the Karrada district of Baghdad killed more than 200 innocent civilians enjoying their last day of Ramadan, mostly children and young people.

Today Iraq is run by a corrupt government. MPs represent their corrupt parties and militias fill their pockets with money while the ordinary Iraqi people live a terrible, unsafe life. Many live in extreme poverty, with no electricity to power their homes.

Our family left Baghdad for Kurdistan in 2005; with thousands of other Kurdish and Christian families fleeing the city, they do not recognise Baghdad now.

Bush and Blair are responsible for the loss of life, the rise of terrorist groups, and what is happening in Iraq and the wider world today."

"The Syrian Chemical Weapons Attack Was a False Flag By Turkey and ISIS"

CHP deputies Eren Erdem and Ali Şeker held a press conference in İstanbul on Wednesday in which they claimed the investigation into allegations regarding Turkey’s involvement in the procurement of sarin gas which was used in the chemical attack on a civil population and delivered to the terrorist Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) to enable the attack was derailed.

Taking the floor first, Erdem stated that the Adana Chief Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation into allegations that sarin was sent to Syria from Turkey via several businessmen. An indictment followed regarding the accusations targeting the government.

“The MKE [Turkish Mechanical and Chemical Industry Corporation] is also an actor that is mentioned in the investigation file. Here is the indictment. All the details about how sarin was procured in Turkey and delivered to the terrorists, along with audio recordings, are inside the file,” Erdem said while waving the file.

Over 1,300 people were killed in the sarin gas attack in Ghouta and several other neighborhoods near the Syrian capital of Damascus, with the West quickly blaming the regime of Bashar al-Assad and Russia claiming it was a “false flag” operation aimed at making US military intervention in Syria possible.

Suburbs near Damascus were struck by rockets containing the toxic sarin gas in August 2013.

The purpose of the attack was allegedly to provoke a US military operation in Syria which would topple the Assad regime in line with the political agenda of then-Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his government.

CHP deputy Şeker spoke after Erdem, pointing out that the government misled the public on the issue by asserting that sarin was provided by Russia. The purpose was to create the perception that, according to Şeker, “Assad killed his people with sarin and that requires a US military intervention in Syria.”

The MP said that evidence in Adana’s case, according to his judgment, proves that IS was responsible.

“For example the chemical attack in Ghouta. Remember.
It was claimed that the regime forces were behind it. This attack was conducted just days before the sarin operation in Turkey.
It’s a high probability that this attack was carried out with those basic materials shipped through Turkey. It is said the regime forces are responsible but the indictment says it’s ISIS. THE NATION FOR SPACE WEATHER EVENTS"


"By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, and to prepare the Nation for space weather events, it is hereby ordered as follows:

Section 1. Policy. Space weather events, in the form of solar flares, solar energetic particles, and geomagnetic disturbances, occur regularly, some with measurable effects on critical infrastructure systems and technologies, such as the Global Positioning System (GPS), satellite operations and communication, aviation, and the electrical power grid. Extreme space weather events -- those that could significantly degrade critical infrastructure -- could disable large portions of the electrical power grid, resulting in cascading failures that would affect key services such as water supply, healthcare, and transportation.
Space weather has the potential to simultaneously affect and disrupt health and safety across entire continents. Successfully preparing for space weather events is an all-of-nation endeavor that requires partnerships across governments, emergency managers, academia, the media, the insurance industry, non-profits, and the private sector.

It is the policy of the United States to prepare for space weather events to minimize the extent of economic loss and human hardship.
The Federal Government must have (1) the capability to predict and detect a space weather event, (2) the plans and programs necessary to alert the public and private sectors to enable mitigating actions for an impending space weather event, (3) the protection and mitigation plans, protocols, and standards required to reduce risks to critical infrastructure prior to and during a credible threat, and (4) the ability to respond to and recover from the effects of space weather. Executive departments and agencies (agencies) must coordinate their efforts to prepare for the effects of space weather events.

Sec. 2. Objectives. This order defines agency roles and responsibilities and directs agencies to take specific actions to prepare the Nation for the hazardous effects of space weather. These activities are to be implemented in conjunction with those identified in the 2015 National Space Weather Action Plan (Action Plan) and any subsequent updates. Implementing this order and the Action Plan will require the Federal Government to work across agencies and to develop, as appropriate, enhanced and innovative partnerships with State, tribal, and local governments; academia; non-profits; the private sector; and international partners. These efforts will enhance national preparedness and speed the creation of a space-weather-ready Nation.

Sec. 3. Coordination. (a) The Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP), in consultation with the Assistant to the President for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism and the Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), shall coordinate the development and implementation of Federal Government activities to prepare the Nation for space weather events, including the activities established in section 5 of this order and the recommendations of the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC), established by Executive Order 12881 of November 23, 1993 (Establishment of the National Science and Technology Council).

(b) To ensure accountability for and coordination of research, development, and implementation of activities identified in this order and in the Action Plan, the NSTC shall establish a Space Weather Operations, Research, and Mitigation Subcommittee (Subcommittee). The Subcommittee member agencies shall conduct activities to advance the implementation of this order, to achieve the goals identified in the 2015 National Space Weather Strategy and any subsequent updates, and to coordinate and monitor the implementation of the activities specified in the Action Plan and provide subsequent updates.

Sec. 4. Roles and Responsibilities. To the extent permitted by law, the agencies below shall adopt the following roles and responsibilities, which are key to ensuring enhanced space weather forecasting, situational awareness, space weather preparedness, and continuous Federal Government operations during and after space weather events.

(a) The Secretary of Defense shall ensure the timely provision of operational space weather observations, analyses, forecasts, and other products to support the mission of the Department of Defense and coalition partners, including the provision of alerts and warnings for space weather phenomena that may affect weapons systems, military operations, or the defense of the United States.

(b) The Secretary of the Interior shall support the research, development, deployment, and operation of capabilities that enhance the understanding of variations of the Earth's magnetic field associated with solar-terrestrial interactions.

(c) The Secretary of Commerce shall:

(i) provide timely and accurate operational space weather forecasts, watches, warnings, alerts, and real-time space weather monitoring for the government, civilian, and commercial sectors, exclusive of the responsibilities of the Secretary of Defense; and

(ii) ensure the continuous improvement of operational space weather services, utilizing partnerships, as appropriate, with the research community, including academia and the private sector, and relevant agencies to develop, validate, test, and transition space weather observation platforms and models from research to operations and from operations to research.

(d) The Secretary of Energy shall facilitate the protection and restoration of the reliability of the electrical power grid during a presidentially declared grid security emergency associated with a geomagnetic disturbance pursuant to 16 U.S.C. 824o-1.

(e) The Secretary of Homeland Security shall:

(i) ensure the timely redistribution of space weather alerts and warnings that support national preparedness, continuity of government, and continuity of operations; and

(ii) coordinate response and recovery from the effects of space weather events on critical infrastructure and the broader community.

(f) The Administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) shall:

(i) implement and support a national research program to understand the Sun and its interactions with Earth and the solar system to advance space weather modeling and prediction capabilities applicable to space weather forecasting;

(ii) develop and operate space-weather-related research missions, instrument capabilities, and models; and

(iii) support the transition of space weather models and technology from research to operations and from operations to research.

(g) The Director of the National Science Foundation (NSF) shall support fundamental research linked to societal needs for space weather information through investments and partnerships, as appropriate.

(h) The Secretary of State, in consultation with the heads of relevant agencies, shall carry out diplomatic and public diplomacy efforts to strengthen global capacity to respond to space weather events.

(i) The Secretaries of Defense, the Interior, Commerce, Transportation, Energy, and Homeland Security, along with the Administrator of NASA and the Director of NSF, shall work together, consistent with their ongoing activities, to develop models, observation systems, technologies, and approaches that inform and enhance national preparedness for the effects of space weather events, including how space weather events may affect critical infrastructure and change the threat landscape with respect to other hazards.

(j) The heads of all agencies that support National Essential Functions, defined by Presidential Policy Directive 40 (PPD-40) of July 15, 2016 (National Continuity Policy), shall ensure that space weather events are adequately addressed in their all-hazards preparedness planning, including mitigation, response, and recovery, as directed by PPD-8 of March 30, 2011 (National Preparedness).

(k) NSTC member agencies shall coordinate through the NSTC to establish roles and responsibilities beyond those identified in section 4 of this order to enhance space weather preparedness, consistent with each agency's legal authority.

Sec. 5. Implementation. (a) Within 120 days of the date of this order, the Secretary of Energy, in consultation with the Secretary of Homeland Security, shall develop a plan to test and evaluate available devices that mitigate the effects of geomagnetic disturbances on the electrical power grid through the development of a pilot program that deploys such devices, in situ, in the electrical power grid. After the development of the plan, the Secretary shall implement the plan in collaboration with industry. In taking action pursuant to this subsection, the Secretaries of Energy and Homeland Security shall consult with the Chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

(b) Within 120 days of the date of this order, the heads of the sector-specific agencies that oversee the lifeline critical infrastructure functions as defined by the National Infrastructure Protection Plan of 2013 -- including communications, energy, transportation, and water and wastewater systems -- as well as the Nuclear Reactors, Materials, and Waste Sector, shall assess their executive and statutory authority, and limits of that authority, to direct, suspend, or control critical infrastructure operations, functions, and services before, during, and after a space weather event. The heads of each sector-specific agency shall provide a summary of these assessments to the Subcommittee.

(c) Within 90 days of receipt of the assessments ordered in section 5(b) of this order, the Subcommittee shall provide a report on the findings of these assessments with recommendations to the Director of OSTP, the Assistant to the President for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism, and the Director of OMB. The assessments may be used to inform the development and implementation of policy establishing authorities and responsibilities for agencies in response to a space weather event.

(d) Within 60 days of the date of this order, the Secretaries of Defense and Commerce, the Administrator of NASA, and the Director of NSF, in collaboration with other agencies as appropriate, shall identify mechanisms for advancing space weather observations, models, and predictions, and for sustaining and transitioning appropriate capabilities from research to operations and operations to research, collaborating with industry and academia to the extent possible.

(e) Within 120 days of the date of this order, the Secretaries of Defense and Commerce shall make historical data from the GPS constellation and other U.S. Government satellites publicly available, in accordance with Executive Order 13642 of May 9, 2013 (Making Open and Machine Readable the New Default for Government Information), to enhance model validation and improvements in space weather forecasting and situational awareness.

(f) Within 120 days of the date of this order, the Secretary of Homeland Security, through the Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency and in coordination with relevant agencies, shall lead the development of a coordinated Federal operating concept and associated checklist to coordinate Federal assets and activities to respond to notification of, and protect against, impending space weather events. Within 180 days of the publication of the operating concept and checklist, agencies shall develop operational plans documenting their procedures and responsibilities to prepare for, protect against, and mitigate the effects of impending space weather events, in support of the Federal operating concept and compatible with the National Preparedness System described in PPD-8.

Sec. 6. Stakeholder Engagement. The agencies identified in this order shall seek public-private and international collaborations to enhance observation networks, conduct research, develop prediction models and mitigation approaches, enhance community resilience and preparedness, and supply the services necessary to protect life and property and promote economic prosperity, as consistent with law.

Sec. 7. Definitions. As used in this order:

(a) "Prepare" and "preparedness" have the same meaning they have in PPD-8. They refer to the actions taken to plan, organize, equip, train, and exercise to build and sustain the capabilities necessary to prevent, protect against, mitigate the effects of, respond to, and recover from those threats that pose the greatest risk to the security of the Nation. This includes the prediction and notification of space weather events.

(b) "Space weather" means variations in the space environment between the Sun and Earth (and throughout the solar system) that can affect technologies in space and on Earth. The primary types of space weather events are solar flares, solar energetic particles, and geomagnetic disturbances.

(c) "Solar flare" means a brief eruption of intense energy on or near the Sun's surface that is typically associated with sunspots.

(d) "Solar energetic particles" means ions and electrons ejected from the Sun that are typically associated with solar eruptions.

(e) "Geomagnetic disturbance" means a temporary disturbance of Earth's magnetic field resulting from solar activity.

(f) "Critical infrastructure" has the meaning provided in section 1016(e) of the USA Patriot Act of 2001 (42 U.S.C. 5195c(e)), namely systems and assets, whether physical or virtual, so vital to the United States that the incapacity or destruction of such systems and assets would have a debilitating impact on security, national economic security, national public health or safety, or any combination of those matters.

(g) "Sector-Specific Agency" means the agencies designated under PPD-21 of February 12, 2013 (Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience), or any successor directive, to be responsible for providing institutional knowledge and specialized expertise as well as leading, facilitating, or supporting the security and resilience programs and associated activities of its designated critical infrastructure sector in the all-hazards environment. Sec. 8. General Provisions.

(a) Nothing in this order shall be construed to impair or otherwise affect:

(i) the authority granted by law to an agency, or the head thereof; or (ii) the functions of the Director of OMB relating to budgetary, administrative, or legislative proposals.

(b) This order shall be implemented consistent with applicable law and subject to the availability of appropriations.

(c) This order is not intended to, and does not, create any right or benefit, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law or in equity by any party against the United States, its departments, agencies, or entities, its officers, employees, or agents, or any other person. "
