THE NEVER BEFORE SEEN PURPLE ORB WAS SPOTTED BY THE EXPLORATION VESSEL (E/V) NAUTILUS OFF THE CALIFORNIA COAST ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO AT A DEPTH OF ABOUT 5,000 FEET. (5,301 feet, or 1,616 meters deep)
SO WHAT DID THE "SCIENTISTS" ABOARD DECIDE TO DO?
THEY SUCKED IT UP WITH A VACUUM AND KILLED IT.
DO LISTEN TO THE "SCIENTIFIC REASONING" IN THE ABOVE VIDEO FROM THE NAUTILUS TEAM.
I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT THE PEOPLE WE HEAR ARE PART OF A NOAA OCEAN EXPLORATION CREW....BUT THEN AGAIN, WE HAVE HEARD AND READ SIMILAR RESPONSES FROM NOAA PERSONNEL BEFORE.
A CRAB SEEMS TO BE TRYING TO 'GUARD' THE ORB IN THE VIDEO.
HIS EFFORTS WERE FEATURED IN THE ABOVE-LINKED ARTICLE FROM THE GUARDIAN, UK.
AT LEAST THE CRAB DISAGREED WITH SUCKING IT UP AND CARTING IT OFF!
ONCE THEY'D RIPPED IT FROM ITS HIDING PLACE AND HAD IT ABOARD NAUTILUS:
“It revealed a foot and rhinophores, which are these ear-like structures, and you see a sort of proboscis come off the back of it,” she said. “That’s when it clearly became a gastropod of some kind.”
SO, GIVEN THEY HAVE THAT VERY HIGH-TECH, FLOOR-SCOURING ROBOT WITH ALL ITS CAMERAS AND ATTACHMENTS, THEY COULDN'T HAVE FIGURED THAT OUT BY MERELY OBSERVING THE CREATURE?
MAYBE THEY WOULD HAVE HAD TO TURN IT ABOUT WITH A GENTLE PROD, BUT INSTEAD OF IT BEING WIPED OUT, IT MOST LIKELY WOULD HAVE SURVIVED A GENTLE PROBE....DARE WE IMAGINE?
HEAVEN HELP THE OCEAN IF THIS 'CREW' IS TYPICAL OF WHAT WE'RE SENDING OUT TO "EXPLORE" UNKNOWN REGIONS OF THE DEEP!
SO WHAT IF IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN THE ONLY ONE OF ITS KIND?
SO WHAT IF IT MIGHT HAVE REPLICATED ITSELF?
LET'S JUST SUCK IT UP WITH THIS HOSE AND END ITS LIFE.
NO.
HOW "SCIENTIFIC" IS THAT?
HOW 'BRILLIANT', RIGHT?
DID, PERHAPS, SOME WILD BUNCH OF GIDDY HIGH SCHOOL BIOLOGY STUDENTS HIJACK THE NAUTILUS AND TAKE IT OUT FOR A 'JOY RIDE"?
"The odd little creature, which unfurled into two lobes once it was brought onboard the ship, is about 2 inches (5 centimeters) across.
It was found on July 18, during an E/V Nautilusexploration of Arguello Canyon, west of the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary."
"MARINE SANCTUARY"?
BUT NOT OFF-LIMITS TO NOAA?
THE CREATURE'S REMAINS WERE SENT TO A LABORATORY FOR "FURTHER TESTING".
CHECK BACK IN A FEW YEARS, SEE WHAT PROGRESS HAS NOT BEEN MADE IN IDENTIFYING IT, SEE IF ANY OTHER "SPECIMEN" HAS BEEN LOCATED AND ANNIHILATED BY "TEAM NAUTILUS".
COMMENTS AS TO WHAT IT MIGHT BE RANGED FROM AN EGG SAC OF SOME MARINE SPIDER TO ....WAIT FOR IT.... "A DISCO BALL".
SERIOUSLY, LISTEN TO THE VIDEO AND READ THE ARTICLES...
“It looks like a disco ball right now with the lasers next to it,” one scientist said.
Before long, the purple mystery was transferred from the depths to the waiting ship above."
ABOVE IS A SCREEN CAPTURE SO WE MAY ALL HAVE A PHOTO OF SOMETHING WE MAY NEVER SEE AGAIN....
"Researchers are so far stumped as to what the colorful, bumpy little ball might be. Their best guess is that it "might be a gastropod (a mollusk such as a snail or slug that belongs to the class Gastropoda) called a pleurobranch — and possibly a new species.
DOES THE ORB EVEN RESEMBLE THIS CREATURE?
"None of the known species of California pleurobranch are purple," said Susan Poulton, a spokeswoman for the E/V Nautilus expeditions.
HERE'S A 'CLUE' FOR THE NOAA "SCOUTS"... SIMPLY COMPARE THE ABOVE PHOTO WITH THE ONE BELOW....
SEE THE DIFFERENCE?

IN CASE ANYONE WANTS TO WATCH THEM "SEEK AND DESTROY" OTHER MARINE LIFE, THEY HAVE A LIVE-FEED WEBSITE FOR THAT:

A DEAD WHALE IS A "TREAT"?
SURE, IF NOAA SAYS SO....
The team sent a sample to the Harvard Museum of Comparative Zoology for DNA analysis.
Confirming a new species could take months, Poulton said.
Many pleurobranchids eat plankton and other microscopic life, and in general are less streamlined than their nudibranch cousins.
The photo archives of the Sea Slug Forum reveal a menagerie of spotted blobs, leopard-striped slugs and flabby organisms lined with spikes and ridges.
The E/V Nautilus has spent weeks along the west coast investigating undersea life, tectonic rifts and cracks in the sea floor where methane plumes out.
WHAT LESSON MAY WE TAKE AWAY FROM THIS INCREDIBLE "DISCOVERY", FROM A LOOK AT HOW "TEAM NAUTILUS" OPERATES?
STAY OUT OF THE OCEAN!
OR YOU, TOO, MAY BE THE VICTIM OF A NOAA "SCIENTIFIC EXPEDITION" .
RUN AWAY!
SWIM AWAY!
FLEE!
GOOD LUCK, MARINE LIFE... YOU'RE GOING TO NEED IT.
