I LIKED THE NEW "FOLDABLE GOLD" THE FIRST TIME I SAW IT.
IT'S, WELL, "PRETTY".

The characteristic luster, color, and shine of the 24-karat gold used is immediately apparent.

A more dramatic design, still called an Aurum, but this is called an Aurum "wafer".

The Aurum is designed to be handled in the same manner as we do with our “paper” money. And, despite having a more ‘plastic’ feel to it (resulting from the polyester backing), it’s as flexible, lightweight, and familiar-feeling as paper currency.

A New Way to Hold Gold

What if you could carry and exchange gold in the exact same manner as you do with the dollar bills in your wallet?
Last year, a company called Valaururm developed a technology that’s making this possible.

Second, it enables the potential for everyday transactions should we ever return to a precious metal-backed monetary standard. It answers the challenge: How will you pay for your groceries with gold? With an Aurum, it’s now easy.

A (small) sovereign central bank is deep in negotiations with Valaurum to replace its existing national currency with aurum notes, creating a true precious-metals backed monetary system. As best we know, this would make it the only one in existence in the world today.

If this indeed occurs, it could be a game-changer.
Changes in trust and perception always begin with a non-conformist having the courage to depart from the herd’s consensus.

Even a small country rejecting fiat money in favor of a gold standard will catch the attention of others. And as the current currency wars exacerbate, as they inevitably will, more countries will increasingly look to adopt monetary regimes that work better. Perhaps that will be a return to gold, in this new form.

Whether Valaurum’s product emerges as the winning horse or not, the world definitely needs this type of solution (i.e., convenient fractional physical metal) to go mainstream.

"The Presidents of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus have officially announced that the transition of the semi-formal Customs Union into the formal economic Eurasian Union will be expedited and completed by 2015. The Eurasian Union will adopt a new currency: Altyn (In Russian: Алтын).

Vladimir Putin announced that Altyn as the new Eurasian currency was originally planned for 2025, but now, due to the US/EU sanctions against Russia, the transition to Altyn may occur within 3-5 years.

 The original idea for creation of a single currency belonged to President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev. In 2012, it was supported by Russia’s President Vladimir Putin. It was originally planned to create a currency in 2025, but the introduction of serious economic sanctions against Russia may begin to accelerate plans for this new currency market.

Other news outlets that reported this news were Pravda.ru and Moskovsky Komsomolets.

The Eurasian Customs Union was launched as a first step towards forming a broader European Union-type economic alliance of former Soviet states.
The member states are planning to continue with economic integration and were set to remove all customs borders between each other after July 2011.

On 19 November 2011, the member states put together a joint commission on fostering closer economic ties, planning to create a Eurasian Union by 2015.
Since 1 January 2012, the three states are a Single Economic Space (SES) to promote further economic integration. The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) is the regulatory agency for the Customs Union.

United States foreign policy opposes the Customs Union, claiming it as an attempt to “re-establish a Russian-dominated USSR-type union amongst the Post-Soviet states”.

 Documents from the Eurasian Economic Committee confirm the formation of the Eurasian Economic Union. Kyrgyzstan, Armenia and Tajikistan may join the new financial and economic organization.

Currently the three member states are at stage 3 of their integration process, but aim to reach stage 4 by the end of 2015. 
Especially Putin is keen on closing a deal to move away from the petrodollar in conjunction with allies in central Asia."

A treaty aiming for the establishment of the EEU was signed on 29 May 2014 by the leaders of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia, and came into force on 1 January 2015."

The Eurasian Economic Union is also using its ARMS INDUSTRY, raw materials, gas and oil reserves, and railways as key assets for trade with other foreign countries.

"According to the World Gold Council, over the last six months, Russia has now increased its gold reserves by 54 tonnes. In the same period Kazakhstan has purchased 12 tonnes.

Russia now has the world’s 6th largest gold reserves, officially higher than both Switzerland’s 1,040 tonnes and China’s 1054.1 tonnes.
As a comparison, in the second quarter of 2009, Russia only had 550 tonnes of gold in its official reserves meaning that their reserves have nearly doubled in just over 5 years.

As well as Kazakhstan, other countries in the region have also actively been increasing official gold reserves this year including Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan."

The case of David Mitchell Rozga, an American teenager from Indianola, Iowa, United States, brought international attention to K2/Spice.

More than 400 emergency-room visits in Mississippi were attributed to synthetic cannabinoids in JUST the month of April, according to the state health department.

Two of those cases involved Jeffrey and Joey Stallings of McComb, who spent several days in intensive care in medically induced comas, their mother, Karen, said .

Ms. Stallings said that Jeffrey, 24, and Joey, 29, smoked a type of spice known as “mojo” that they received from a dealer.

She said that Jeffrey became delusional, thinking that a woman was bleeding in their hallway, and extremely violent; Joey became extremely agitated before she took them to the hospital.


Ms. Stallings said that her sons were released from the hospital after about a week and that doctors told her that Jeffrey might have permanent kidney damage. 

A unique case occurred earlier this year in Texas. The death of Kendrick Sneed, a soldier at Fort Hood, on Jan. 13 had been considered to be possibly caused by Ebola, because he had recently returned from deployment to a hot zone for the disease in West Africa.

The local police department, however, announced on April 16 that an autopsy determined the cause to be “synthetic cannabinoid intoxication.”


One person in Louisiana died Wednesday and two others were in intensive care, said Mark Ryan, the director of the Louisiana Poison Center.

“We had one hospital in the Baton Rouge area that saw over 110 cases in February. That’s a huge spike,” Dr. Ryan said. “There’s a large amount of use going on. When one of these new ingredients — something that’s more potent and gives a bigger high — is released and gets into distribution, it can cause these more extreme effects.”

“It’s been more than 90 percent hospitals this year,” Mr. Ryan said. “It’s not, ‘Hey, I smoked this thing and I don’t feel well.’ It’s, ‘This guy’s trying to tear up the E.R. and we have him locked down in restraints. We don’t know what he’s taken. What do we do?’ ”

India quickly sent four IAF transport aircraft carrying about 10 National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF) teams, totalling 450 personnel, reaching Nepal on Saturday evening.

                               AVALANCHE AT MOUNT EVEREST BASE CAMP

KATHMANDU, Nepal (AP) — "A senior trekking guide says at least 17 people have been killed after an avalanche triggered by Nepal's massive earthquake slammed into a section of the Mount Everest mountaineering base camp. Another 61 people have been injured. 

Ang Tshering of the Nepal Mountaineering Association said early Sunday that 22 of the seriously injured have been taken by helicopter to Pheriche village, the nearest medical facility. Bad weather and communications are hampering more helicopter sorties.


Tshering says the avalanche began Saturday on Mount Kumori, a few miles (kilometers) from Everest, gathering strength as it headed toward the base camp where climbing expeditions have been preparing to make their summit attempts."

A massive 7.9 magnitude earthquake centered less than 50 miles from Kathmandu rocked Nepal with devastating force early Saturday, killing more than 150 people in Nepal's capital city, authorities said.

The injured were being treated outside hospitals in chaotic scenes. Residents, terrorized by a series of strong aftershocks, huddled outdoors. Historic buildings in Kathmandu lay in rubble on the ground.

The death toll was reported by Nepal's Ministry of Home Affairs. Given that the rescue effort is still in its early stages and that people in outlying areas may well have been affected, as well, it seems possible the number could rise.

MOUNT EVEREST SHAKEN

"Avalanches were reported on Mount Everest, sending mountaineers running for cover.

"Everest base camp huge earthquake then huge avalanche from Kumori," Twitter user Alex Gavan said. "Running for life from my tent. Unhurt. Many many people up the mountain."

Army team which was on cleaning mission on the base camp of Mt Everest is safe.

The quake, which struck at 11:41 local time (05:51 GMT). occurred at a depth of 9.3 miles, which is considered shallow and potentially more damaging than a quake centered deeper under the earth's crust. It was reported by people in the area has having lasted a very long time. One person said he felt as if he were in a ship on rough seas.

The U.S. Geological Survey had at first rated the temblor at 7.5 magnitude but later upgraded the strength. It reported aftershocks at strengths of 6.6 and 5.1, among others.

In all, the USGS said, at least 16 aftershocks of magnitude 4.5 or greater had been felt in Nepal so far. A witness told CNN by phone that people were gathered outdoors in fear.

Kanak Masni, a journalist in Kathmandu, told CNN by phone that a historic building in Kathmandu called Dharahara -- also known as Bhimsen Tower -- had tumbled down. The building, built in 1832, was nearly 63 meters tall, and provided visitors with a panoramic view of of the Kathmandu valley.

Masni told CNN by telephone that this appeared to be "the most massive earthquake to hit central Nepal since 1934." In that quake, which was 8.0 magnitude and centered near Mount Everest, more than 10,000 people were reported killed. "

Update as of 4:06 a.m. EDT: Manchester University officials gave the all clear early on Saturday after its campus in North Manchester, Indiana, was locked down for several hours following reports of an armed person.

Manchester University spokeswoman Anne Gregory said in an email that police did not find any threats after searching all the buildings at the campus, located about 36 miles west of Fort Wayne, according to Reuters.

North Manchester police received a phone call Friday night from someone claiming to have stabbed their roommate, was armed with a shotgun and a bomb and threatened to blow up the administration building, according to Indiana State Police.

By 1:30 Saturday morning, ISP investigators had completed a sweep of the admin building but found no explosive devices or suspects. A check for a stabbing victim also came up empty.

ISP units then left the campus, saying the incident would continue to be investigated as a likely prank call.

As of 1:30 a.m., the university's website still listed the campus as being on lockdown. The campus alert posted on the university's website reads:

"MU Manchester Campus on lockdown. Barricade yourself in a room, stay away from windows. Be quiet, silence cell. Wait for police or All-Clear.

OPERATION NAME-THAT-MISSION: THE HUNT FOR MILITARY MONIKERS

For weeks, military planners have debated a thorny strategic problem. In recent days, they sent a suggestion to the Pentagon’s top brass.

It was rejected. America’s newest war won’t be called "Operation Inherent Resolve".

Two months since war planes first started striking Islamic State targets, operations in Iraq and Syria don’t have a fancy name.  One of the generic placeholders found on classified Pentagon PowerPoint slides reads:  “Operations in Iraq and Syria.”

The delay over naming the Iraq and Syria mission has led some to suggest politics is at play.  The latest war, some officials said, is one the Obama administration didn’t seek or eagerly embrace.  “If you name it, you own it,” said a defense official.  “And they don’t want to own it.”

“It is just kind of bleh,” said a military officer.

And so aides to the Joint Chiefs of Staff have asked Gen. Lloyd Austin, head of Central Command, for new options.

The use of nicknames to influence public perception started with the 1989 invasion of Panama, or Operation Just Cause.  Before the Pentagon decided the name had publicity potential, it was calling the mission Operation Blue Spoon.

These days, the military tends to move quickly to develop names, often heavy on evocative words like freedom, resolute, and just.  Even before a fraction of the 3,000 troops assigned to fight Ebola arrived in Liberia, the mission was dubbed Operation United Assistance.

Officially, the military won’t comment on why the current operation in Iraq and Syria is proving the exception.  Military spokesmen don’t acknowledge that the namelessness is unusual.

“There is no name for this operation,” stated Col. Patrick Ryder, a spokesman for Central Command.

Privately, Pentagon officials say they don’t want a bad name.  

Army historians note the military is careful with acronyms, noting a couple of rejects including Operation Afghan Freedom (OAF) and Operation Iraqi Liberation (OIL).

Operation Enduring Freedom, the name for the Afghanistan war, has unintentionally lived up to its name now that that war is the longest in American history.  

That name is to be retired in December and replaced with Operation Resolute Support.

Responsibility for coming up with names tends to sit with Regional Combatant Commanders, the four-star officers who oversee military operations in different parts of the world, although aides to the Joint Chiefs and the civilian policy staff look over options for major operations.

A Pentagon computer program, the Code Word, Nickname and Exercise Term System, or NICKA, keeps track of previous efforts and sets parameters for future ones.

Officials say the classified system is often ignored when it comes to high-profile conflicts.

That is because congressional appropriations are assigned to specific military operations.

The current operations in Iraq and Syria are being funded by a reallocation of existing appropriations and that has removed some of the urgency for a name, Pentagon officials said.

But many of the pilots flying over Iraq and Syria already have those medals.  

And the military likes to create unique medals for different operations to highlight breadth of service.  

As a result, top generals overseeing the personnel system want a new ribbon, which means they need a new name.

Tokyo Contaminated & Not Fit for Habitation, Doctor Says

"All 23 districts of Tokyo contaminated with radiation, worse than at Chernobyl after the accident, and blood cells of children under ten are showing worrying changes; the WHO, the IAEA & the Japanese government cannot be trusted." 

Dr Shigeru Mita wrote a letter to his fellow doctors to explain his decision to move his practice from Tokyo to Okayama city in the West of Japan.  

Mita claims that all 23 districts of Tokyo are contaminated, with the eastern area worst affected — up to 4 000 Bq/kg of measured radioactive contamination. 

Mita conducts thyroid ultrasound tests for parents who are concerned about the health of their children, but he is now concerned about the results of another test on children under 10, the differential white blood cell count. 

While practising in Tokyo, Mita also discovered disturbing changes in the white blood cells of children under 10. 

He found a decline in neutrophils in children under 10, children from areas that are not considered to be highly contaminated or even contaminated at all. His patients come from Northern Kanto, the area around Tokyo and including Tokyo itself.  

 Mita says that the radioactive contamination of Tokyo is increasing because of the Japanese government’s policy of transporting radioactive waste from the Fukushima zone all over Japan for incineration or burial. The Japanese government and the nuclear authorities claimed that filters on the stacks of the incineration plants would remove most of the radioactivity, but this is not the case, and in the opinion of many, it is adding to the contamination. 

“They are creating 100 to 1000 times more radioactive material by burning debris than keeping it in concentrated form”.

His statements confirmed findings in 2012, when an independent team picked up five random soil samples in Tokyo from between paving stones, in parks and playgrounds. The levels of contamination were up to 7 000 Bq/kg; 

in the US, anything registering these levels would be considered nuclear waste.

T"he Japanese people are faced with a government whose response to the dangers of the radiation was to increase the acceptable limit from 1 mSv/year to 20 mSv/year and who are now encouraging people to move back into areas that had previously been evacuated. (The millisievert is a unit of radiation dose. Before the Fukushima accident, Japan, like the rest of the world, respected the limit of 1 mSv/year recommended by the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP)."

FORMER JAPANESE PRIME MINISTER WAS WARNED TO EVACUATE TOKYO AND ADMITS HE CONSIDERED IT!

"Naoto Kan, prime minister of Japan at the beginning of the Fukushima nuclear crisis, has admitted that in the first ten days of the crisis "he contemplated evacuating as many as 30 million people from Tokyo and surrounding areas," Australia's ABC reported Monday.  --  He said he contemplated the chaos that would have accompanied a worst case scenario and "wasn't sure whether Japan could continue to function as a state."  --  One of the worst-case scenarios he requested "said everyone residing within 200 to 250 km of the plant -- a zone that would encompass half to all of Tokyo and cut clear across Honshu to the Sea of Japan -- would have to be evacuated," the Japan Times said on Monday.

CHILDREN ARE TOLD NOT TO TOUCH THE METAL PARTS ON PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT ALL OVER JAPAN, AS I SHOWED BEFORE, BECAUSE OF HIGH RADIATION ACCUMULATED THERE, AND MANY OF THOSE WHO GO BAREFOOT NEAR DAI'ICHI'S PLANT OFTEN HAVE BLEEDING LESIONS AND PEELING SKIN ON THE SOLES OF THEIR FEET, ALSO AS I SHOWED PREVIOUSLY, BUT THE JAPANESE GOVERNMENT WON'T EVEN PROVIDE ENOUGH DOSIMETERS SO ALL CHILDREN CAN KNOW HOW MUCH RADIATION THEY ARE ABSORBING! 

KEEPING JAPAN HAPPY AND TRADING WITH AMERICA SEEMS MORE IMPORTANT TO OUR OFFICIALS THAN THE HEALTH AND LIVES OF AMERICAN OR JAPANESE CITIZENS...AND THAT IS A DIRTY ROTTEN SHAME! 

JAPANESE OFFICIALS VALUE HOSTING THE OLYMPICS OVER SAVING LIVES OF CHILDREN IN TOKYO.

THAT IS CRIMINAL!
