IT APPEARS WE ALREADY HAVE A MAJOR PROBLEM REGARDING THIS "DEAL", SO SEE THE COMMENTS SECTION OFTEN.]
WHY THE SUDDEN RUSH TO CUT A ONE-SIDED DEAL WITH IRAN, A NATION WE HAVE BEEN AT ENMITY WITH FOR OVER 60 YEARS?
WHY WOULD AMERICA SUDDENLY BOW TO IRANIAN DEMANDS AND ALLOW IRAN TO CONTINUE ON ITS WAY TO FULL NUCLEAR ARMAMENT?
ARE WE AFRAID OF IRAN'S ALLIES, RUSSIA AND CHINA?
AFTER FUNDING SADDAM HUSSEIN FOR DECADES TO COMBAT IRAN ON OUR BEHALF, AFTER NUMEROUS COVERT OPERATIONS TO DISABLE IRAN'S NUCLEAR PROGRAM, NUMEROUS ECONOMIC SANCTIONS AGAINST IRAN TO BANKRUPT ITS ABILITY TO DEVELOP A NUCLEAR WEAPON, WHY DOES THE U.S. NOW DECIDE TO KISS AND MAKE UP WITH IRAN?
WHY, AFTER THE RECOGNIZED LEADERS OF IRAN HAVE INCESSANTLY CALLED FOR THE DESTRUCTION OF BOTH AMERICA AND ISRAEL, AS RECENTLY AS LAST MONTH, DID THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TURN AGAINST AMERICA'S ONLY REAL ALLY IN THE MIDDLE EAST, ISRAEL, AND GO AHEAD WITH PLANS TO SUBMIT TO IRAN'S DEMANDS FOR ANY DEAL, NUCLEAR OR OTHERWISE?
An absolute flurry of activity was seen at the negotiating table in Lausanne, Switzerland, the last few days, during which Iran asked for more and then even more concessions from the U.S. and a group of five other countries known as the P5+1.
As Iran repeatedly threatened to walk away from negotiations, a strange thing happened...the U.S. caved in!
Howard Dean, a former governor of Vermont and the former chairman of the Democratic National Committee, said Wednesday he would like to see the United States walk away from the negotiating table with Iran over its nuclear program.
HE ISN'T THE ONLY ONE!
On April 1, the commander of the Basij militia of Iran's Revolutionary Guards said in an interview that "erasing Israel off the map" is "nonnegotiable," The Times of Israel and other newspapers in the Middle East reported.
[BREITBART ALSO PICKED THAT HATE SPEECH UP. SEE: http://www.breitbart.com/national-security/2015/03/31/iranian-commander-erasing-israel-off-the-map-is-non-negotiable/]
"The Iranians have not seen any need to deny their mischief during the Obama era, since his interests align so clearly with their regional ambitions… but rest assured that if the Supreme Leader needs a way to ensure some of what Obama plans to give him this week detonates in Tel Aviv, or Paris, a few years from now, he will have plenty of deniable “rogue” militia operatives at his disposal.
Naqdi also threatened the Saudis currently making war against Iran’s clients in Yemen, saying they would “have a fate like the fate of Saddam Hussein.” He has previously played the role of renegade “hard-liner,” criticizing Iranian president Hassan Rohani and his fellow “moderates” as “fake revolutionaries, who joined the ranks of revolutionaries to acquire leadership and riches, and speak about the necessity to make compromises.”
"Iran's supreme leader has the ultimate say, but the views of influential hard-liners who oppose a deal will be heard.
Among them are Said Jalili, the chief nuclear negotiator under former President Mahmud Ahmadinejad; the Endurance Front political party; and elements of the powerful Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC).
Their general demands are:
* no deal that would diminish Iran's nuclear enrichment program
* no deal that would leave economic and military sanctions intact
* all sanctions (whether imposed by the United States, European Union, or United Nations) should be lifted immediately
* in the event of new sanctions, legislation would be passed to allow uranium enrichment of 60 percent"
THAT DIDN'T STOP KERRY FROM MEETING IRAN'S DEMANDS!
Brig. Gen. Mohammad Reza Naqdi's comments were made public as Iran and six world powers chose to extend nuclear negotiations in a new phase aimed at reaching a comprehensive accord by the end of June.
Fars News also quoted Naqdi threatening both Saudi Arabia, whom he called a U.S. puppet, and the United States.
Crazier still is the well-publicized fact that Iran unveiled in January its newest ICBM missile that is capable of reaching America.
In March, the Iranian defense ministry ceremoniously paraded eight anti-ship ballistic missiles, known as the Khalij Fars, before handing them over to the country's military.
Vice Admiral James Syring, the director of the U.S. Missile Defense Agency, told a congressional subcommittee last June that the Khalij Fars "is capable of threatening maritime activity throughout the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz."
He confirmed the Iranians had tested the missile in flight, but he could not say whether it was operational, Jane's reports, citing the admiral's statement to the subcommittee.
The Iranian launch facility imaged by satellite just outside Tehran would be capable of launching an ICBM missile or a rocket into space.
SINCE IRAN SEEMS TO BE STEPPING UP ITS ABILITY TO WAGE WAR AGAINST ITS SWORN ENEMIES, WHY THE HELL WOULD THE U.S. GO AHEAD WITH SO MANY CONCESSIONS AND SO MUCH, DARE WE SAY, BUTT-KISSING?
IT DOES NOT MAKE LOGICAL SENSE!
IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE MILITARILY TO TRUST IRAN!
IRAN IS STILL HOLDING THREE AMERICANS IN PRISON THERE!
IS JOHN KERRY NEGOTIATING THEIR RELEASE AS PART OF THIS
"WE LOVE IRAN" DEAL?
OBVIOUSLY THE HOSTAGES ARE NOT PART OF THE DEAL!
~ PRISONER 1, AMIR HEKMATI, A JAILED U.S. MARINE VETERAN FROM ARIZONA, WAS ARRESTED AND CHARGED IN AUGUST, 2011 WITH SPYING FOR THE U.S.
HE WAS INITIALLY SENTENCED TO DEATH BUT THE SENTENCE WAS LATER REDUCED TO 10 YEARS IN PRISON.
HE WAS SEIZED WHEN HE WENT TO IRAN TO VISIT HIS IRANIAN GRANDMOTHER.
~ PRISONER 2, AMERICAN PASTOR SAEED ABEDINI, FROM BOISE, IDAHO, ARRESTED IN THE SUMMER OF 2012 AFTER GOING TO IRAN TO SET UP ORPHANAGES, AND WHO HAS BEEN SENTENCED TO 8 YEARS IN PRISON.
IRANIAN AUTHORITIES CLAIMED HE INSTEAD SET UP HOME-BASED CHRISTIAN CHURCHES, THUS THREATENING IRAN'S NATIONAL SECURITY.
THE PASTOR'S WIFE NOTED ON FACEBOOK A FEW DAYS AGO THAT NEITHER HER HUSBAND'S RELEASE NOR THAT OF OTHER AMERICAN HOSTAGES WAS PART OF THE NEW DEAL WITH IRAN AND QUOTED JOHN KERRY:
"And finally, with respect to our citizens, we of course have had a number of conversations, and no meeting, no date when we come together has been without conversation about our American citizens," Kerry said. "I'm not going to go into any details except to say to you that that conversation is continuing. We have a very specific process in place to try to deal with it, and we call on Iran again, today, now, in light of this to release these Americans and let them get home with their families. And we are working on that and we will continue to be very focused on it."

~ PRISONER 3, FORMER FBI AND DEA AGENT BOB LEVINSON.
TAKEN HOSTAGE ON IRAN'S KISH ISLAND IN MARCH, 2007, LEVINSON IS THE LONGEST-HELD AMERICAN PRISONER IN U.S. HISTORY.
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS REVEALED IN 2013 THAT LEVINSON HAD BEEN WORKING FORTHE CIA IN IRAN.
THE CIA AND U.S. GOVERNMENT DENIED THAT CLAIM.
A SHORT VIDEO AND 5 PHOTOS OF LEVINSON WERE SENT TO HIS FAMILY IN NOVEMBER, 2010 WHICH THEY RELEASED TO NEWS MEDIA IN 2011.
THE FBI OFFERS A $5 MILLION REWARD FOR INFORMATION ON LEVINSON.
SO, WHY NEGOTIATE?
AMERICAN PRISONERS BEING HELD BY IRAN, HER LEADERS' CONTINUAL CALLS FOR JIHAD AGAINST THE U.S., ISRAEL, THE U.K., ETC, THE MANY LIES WE'VE CAUGHT IRAN TELLING FOR OVER HALF A CENTURY NOW, HER CONTINUED EFFORTS TO CREATE LONG-RANGE ICBMs, EVEN AS 'NEGOTIATIONS' ARE ONGOING, ALL THAT ASIDE, WHAT DOES AMERICA GAIN FROM THESE INSANE NEGOTIATIONS?
IRAN WILL GET REMOVAL OF SANCTIONS, THE USE OF OVER 6,000 CENTRIFUGES TO CONTINUE URANIUM ENRICHMENT, WILL BE ALLOWED TO OPENLY SELL ITS OIL TO ONE AND ALL, WILL SEE ITS CURRENCY INCREASE IN VALUE...
WHAT DOES AMERICA GET?
AN ARTICLE IN THE NEW YORK TIMES ON APRIL 2 STATED THAT AMERICA HAS 3 OPTIONS WHEN DEALING WITH IRAN'S PUSH TO OBTAIN NUCLEAR CAPABILITY.
IT NOTED THAT AMERICA DID NOT EMPLOY SUCH OPTIONS AGAINST CHINA WHEN IT WAS DEVELOPING NUKES.
WELL, WE SEE NOW THE ERROR OF THOSE TIMES, MAYBE?
MAYBE NOT!
"The West essentially has three options:
■ We can try to obtain a deal to block all avenues to a bomb, uranium, plutonium and purchase of a weapon. This would allow Iran to remain on the nuclear path but would essentially freeze its progress — if it doesn’t cheat. To prevent cheating, we need the toughest inspections regime in history.
■ We can continue the sanctions, cyberwarfare and sabotage to slow Iran’s progress. This has worked better than expected, but it’s not clear that we have a new Stuxnet worm to release. And, partly because of congressional meddling, international support for sanctions may unravel.
■ We can launch military strikes on Natanz, Isfahan, Arak, Fordow and, possibly, Tehran. This would be a major operation lasting weeks. Strikes would take place in the daytime to maximize the number of nuclear scientists killed. All this would probably delay a weapon by one to three years — but it could send oil prices soaring, lead to retaliatory strikes and provoke a nationalistic backlash in support of the government.
So, sure, a nuclear deal carries risks and will be ugly and imperfect, but, on balance, it probably reduces the risk that Iran gets the bomb in the next 10 years."
THAT LEAVES ME ASKING THE SAME QUESTION...WHAT DOES AMERICA GET OUT OF ANY DEAL WITH IRAN?
THERE SIMPLY ARE NO ASSURANCES WE WILL EVEN SEE IRAN LIVE UP TO ANY AGREEMENTS IT MAKES...IT NEVER HAS IN THE PAST.
IT WOULD TAKE AN INSPECTION TEAM SUCH AS THE WORLD HAS NEVER SEEN GOING INTO IRAN AND CONSTANTLY MAKING UNANNOUNCED, IN-DEPTH INSPECTIONS OF EVERY SQUARE INCH OF IRAN, ABOVE AND BELOW GROUND, TO KEEP TRACK OF THINGS AND INSURE IRAN IS LIVING UP TO ITS AGREEMENTS, SOMETHING IRAN WILL NEVER ALLOW.
HOW DUMB AND BLIND CAN OUR GOVERNMENT BE?
WELL, THE SAUDIS ARE ASKING THE SAME QUESTION, COMPLAINING JUST LAST WEEK TO KERRY ET AL THAT IRAN IS TAKING OVER IRAQ BECAUSE IT SENT FORCES TO TIKRIT TO BATTLE THE ISLAMIC STATE THERE.
SAUDIS QUESTION AMERICA'S MOTIVES FOR MAKING SUCH A SWEET DEAL WITH IRAN, AN ENEMY OF SAUDI ARABIA.
AND WHAT WILL THIS DO FOR AMERICAN PLANS TO OUST ASSAD FROM SYRIA, SINCE IRAN SUPPORTS ASSAD?
AFTER ALL, OUR OIL MASTERS, THE HOUSE OF SAUD, ALSO WANT ASSAD GONE.
TURKEY ALSO WANTS ASSAD GONE.
WHAT A DILEMMA!
WHO TO KISS AND BOW TO MORE...HOUSE OF SAUD OR IRAN?
As Michael Rubin, an analyst at the American Enterprise Institute, noted in a USA Today article back in March, "Distrust in Saudi Arabia toward the United States hasn't been this high since 1973," i.e. during the oil embargo.
Kerry's and Dempsey's words that the U.S. is watching Iran, and will not allow Iran to expand into that hot zone region may not allay the allies' concerns, Rubin warned.
"Whether we are coordinating or not doesn't matter because the perception is we are letting that happen," he said.
Saudi Arabia, for example, has been critical in keeping oil prices low by refusing to reduce its massive production of crude. It also backed the ouster of Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi, a long-time U.S. irritant.
"When we find ourselves in a crisis the first Arab country we call is Saudi Arabia," Rubin said.
LET ME JUST OFFER THIS...
SINCE WALL STREET IS SCREAMING AND CRYING ABOUT LOW OIL PRICES BANKRUPTING ITS BIG COMPANIES, ROBBING THEM OF PROFITS, PROFITS, PROFITS, WHAT IF THE ECONOMIC WIZARDS OF WALL STREET HAVE JERKED OBAMA'S CHAIN AND ASKED THAT HE PISS THE SAUDIS OFF JUST ENOUGH TO JACK UP OIL PRICES JUST A WEE BIT...TO HELP OUT THE MAJOR POLITICAL DONORS, THE POWER BEHIND THE OVAL OFFICE?
IF GAS PRICES WENT UP AGAIN, THE PROFITS COULD ROLL IN!
IT'S JUST A THOUGHT.
I LOATHE WALL STREET.
WHAT GOOD HAVE OUR SANCTIONS AGAINST IRAN DONE?
NO GOOD AT ALL, BUT MAINLY BECAUSE CHINA AND RUSSIA HAVE NOT REALLY JOINED IN WITH SANCTIONING MUCH OF ANYTHING.
THEY KNOW A GOOD BEDFELLOW WHEN THEY SEE ONE AND IRAN, CHINA AND RUSSIA HAVE BEEN IN BED TOGETHER FOR LONGER THAN THE U.S. WILL ADMIT.
WE REALLY HAVE TO ASK THE BIG QUESTION THAT, SINCE RUSSIA AND CHINA ARE ALLIED TO IRAN, ISN'T AMERICA AFRAID TO TURN DOWN ANY DEAL IRAN OFFERS?
IF EITHER WE OR OUR ALLY ISRAEL HITS IRAN TO TAKE OUT NUCLEAR FACILITIES, WOULDN'T CHINA AND/OR RUSSIA HIT BACK?
COULD THIS CRAZY DEAL SIMPLY BE TO PACIFY IRAN, THE STEP-CHILD OF THE OLD RUSSIA/CHINA "MARRIAGE"?
HAS OBAMA RECEIVED A WARNING FROM THOSE MASSIVE OTHER TWO SUPER-POWERS?
WHO WOULD RISK NUCLEAR CONFRONTATION WITH EITHER CHINA OR RUSSIA, LET ALONE BOTH AT THE SAME TIME?
WE SAW BUSH JUNIOR KISS THE OLD SAUDI KING IN THE MOUTH ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND STROLL HIM THROUGH THE ROSE GARDEN HAND-IN-HAND, SO MAYBE IT'S OBAMA'S TURN TO DO THE SAME WITH IRAN'S MANIACAL LEADERS?
BEFORE THE CURRENT ADMINISTRATION'S SANCTIONS, IN 2003-2005, IRAN HAD MAYBE 3,000 REALLY GOOD CENTRIFUGES FOR PRODUCING ENRICHED URANIUM.
ESTIMATES PUT THAT NUMBER AT 20,000 IN 2013 AFTER THE SANCTIONS!
IRAN WENT FROM LESS THAN 10% ENRICHED URANIUM TO OVER 20%, WHICH IS A PLENTY GOOD START FOR DEVELOPING NUCLEAR WEAPONRY.
POLITICO SEEMS MORE THAN WILLING TO ACCEPT IRAN'S SAY-SO ON NOT DEVELOPING NUKES.
"By virtually every estimate, Iran has had the capability to produce a nuclear weapon for at least a decade. The predictions were wrong, not about Iran’s ability but about its willingness to use that capability to produce a weapon. The entire U.S. intelligence community and most of our allies — apparently including Israel — have concluded with high confidence that Iran has not made a decision to build a bomb.
Iran has ceased development of its heavy water reactor at Arak, which produces plutonium — the shortest route to weapons-quality fissile material — and will modify it permanently.
...if this agreement is rejected, as the Israeli prime minister and many in Congress are proposing, we go back to the early days of 2013: heavy sanctions, a rapidly increasing Iranian nuclear program and a looming threat of war. That is surely something no responsible statesman or politician would wish to see."
WELL, WOULD ANY "RESPONSIBLE STATESMAN/POLITICIAN" LIKE TO SEE A NUCLEAR WINTER?
HOW ABOUT AN ICBM FROM IRAN FALLING ON, SAY, NEW YORK CITY?
ISRAEL ERASED FROM THE FACE OF THE PLANET?
IRAN WINS BIG ON THIS DEAL!
A NICE LITTLE OUTLINE OF ALL THE GIFTS IRAN WILL GET CAN BE FOUND HERE: http://www.vox.com/2015/4/2/8336219/iran-nuclear-deal-plain-english/in/8104428
"Iran will be allowed to keep using its once-secret "hardened facilities" — big structures with heavy blast walls to protect from attack — at sites known as Natanz and Fordow.
Iran can keep using the one at Natanz to make nuclear fuel.
It can keep using the facility at Fordow for what sounds like fairly limited nuclear research.
Iran had built a facility at Arak for making and storing potentially weapons-grade plutonium. Now, it will repurpose the facility to only make nuclear fuel.
You can make a nuclear bomb with one of two fuels: uranium or plutonium.
[IRAN HAS BOTH!]
Inspectors will be regularly checking out all of the KNOWN places that Iran would use for any kind of nuclear work...
[KNOWN...BUT WHAT ABOUT UNKNOWN?]
ALJAZEERA POSTED PHOTOS OF HAPPY, SMILING IRANIANS, CELEBRATING THE NEWS THAT A DEAL MAY HAVE BEEN REACHED ,AND NOTED:
"Republicans, who control the Senate by a 54-44 margin with two independents who tend to vote with Democrats, are unlikely to muster the two-thirds majority needed to reject the president's policy.
If a Republican president were to be elected in two years, analysts say, it would be very difficult to reverse the international agreement with Iran by restoring multilateral sanctions so long as Iran is in compliance.
Meanwhile, the US will need to demonstrate to Arab allies - particularly Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states - it is prepared to be a reliable partner and counter Iranian involvement in the region.
"A deal will further reinforce the perception that we are acquiescing to an Iran-centric conception of the region," said Aaron David Miller, distinguished scholar at the Wilson Center, a Washington think-tank.
While reinvigorating Iran's economy will yield benefits for its expanding middle class, many observers believe the conservative Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei will limit the pace of any domestic political reforms.
Technical details of the agreement are to be hammered out by the June 30 deadline for completion of the P5+1 talks, followed by crucial political hurdles to be crossed in the US Congress, at the United Nations and in Tehran."
WHILE IT APPEARS THAT IRAN LOSES A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF FORWARD PROGRESS ON DEVELOPING A NUCLEAR BOMB, FEW ARE TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE SECRECY AND THE ALLIANCES AND THE INTERNATIONAL HELP THAT IRAN HAS HAD TO GET THIS FAR, DURING ALL THE SANCTIONS.
WHAT OTHER WELL-CONCEALED SECRETS LIE FAR, FAR BENEATH THOSE IRANIAN SANDS?
WHAT COULD IRAN BUILD AND KEEP OUT OF SIGHT?
BACK TO MY INITIAL QUESTION...
WHAT DOES AMERICA GET OUT OF THIS DEAL?
SEEMS LIKE THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION WANTS US TO BELIEVE WE'LL GET IRAN'S PROMISE NOT TO GO NUCLEAR, NOT TO BECOME A NUCLEAR POWER.
I HATE TO BE BASE, BUT THAT'S JUST BULLSHIT.
NO OTHER WORD FITS.
NO NATION WITH THE DRIVE TO DESTROY OTHERS THAT IRAN HAS EXHIBITED FOR THE PAST 40 OR 50 YEARS WOULD EVER PASS UP THE OPPORTUNITY TO GET ITS HANDS ON EVEN MORE DESTRUCTIVE POWER.
NO NATION THAT EXPRESSES SUCH HATRED FOR THE "GREAT SATAN" (AMERICA) WOULD KEEP A BARGAIN WITH SAID SATANIC FORCES, WOULD IT?
IT MIGHT MAKE SUCH A BARGAIN TO BUY ITSELF TIME, TO EASE THOSE SANCTIONS, TO PRESENT A FALSE SENSE OF SECURITY TO ANYONE WHO BELIEVES IN FAIRY TALES, BUT, IF IRAN IS WHOM IRAN HAS SAID IT IS, IT IS DEDICATED FOR ALL TIME TO THE ABSOLUTE ANNIHILATION OF THE U.S., ISRAEL AND ALL THEIR ALLIES.
AMERICA LOSES ON THIS DEAL.
AND WE WILL PAY FOR OUR MISTAKES.
YOU CAN TAKE THAT TO THE BANK.
HOUSTON, WE ALREADY HAVE A MAJOR PROBLEM ON THIS "DEAL"!
ReplyDeleteTHE WALL STREET JOURNAL AS WELL AS 'IRAN MATTERS' POSTED THE TRANSLATION OF THE IRANIAN FACT SHEET AS COMPARED TO THE AMERICAN FACT SHEET WE'VE BEEN HANDED BY KERRY ET AL, AND THERE ARE MAJOR DIFFERENCES!
WHAT IRAN IS ACCEPTING IS WHAT IS ON IRAN'S FACTSHEET, NOT WHAT IS ON THE ENGLISH VERSION!
ANOTHER COMMENT WILL FOLLOW THIS ONE, BUT, FOR NOW, HERE ARE THE LINKS TO THE TWO WEBSITES THAT OFFER THE IRANIAN VERSION, SO YOU MAY SEE THE DIFFERENCES FRO YOURSELVES.

MAJOR DIFFERENCES
ReplyDeleteOn Sanctions
The Language
U.S.: “U.S. and E.U. nuclear-related sanctions will be suspended after the IAEA has verified that Iran has taken all of its key nuclear-related steps…. All past UN Security Council resolutions on the Iran nuclear issue will be lifted simultaneous with the completion, by Iran, of nuclear-related actions addressing all key concerns.”
Iran: “According to the reached solutions, after the implementation of the Comprehensive Plan of Joint Action, all of the UN resolutions will be revoked and all of the multilateral economic and financial sanctions by the EU and the unilateral ones by the U.S. will be annulled.”
Key takeaway:
The U.S. says sanctions relief will be phased, suspended, and tied to Iran’s compliance with the terms of the deal. Iran says the sanctions, once the final agreement is sealed, will end more quickly.
On Stockpiles
The Language
U.S.: “Iran has agreed to not enrich uranium over 3.67 percent for at least 15 years. Iran has agreed to reduce its current stockpile of about 10,000 kg of low-enriched uranium (LEU) to 300 kg of 3.67 percent LEU for 15 years.”
Iran: “According to the reached solutions, the timeframe of the Comprehensive Plan of Joint Action regarding Iran’s enrichment program will be 10 years. During this period, more than 5,000 centrifuge machines will continue producing enriched material at the 3.67 percent level at Natanz.”
Key takeaway:
Iran says it will limit enrichment and its stockpile for 10 years, the U.S. says 15.
On Inspections
The Language (paraphrased for simplicity)
U.S.: The IAEA will have regular access to Iran’s nuclear facilities as well as the supply chain that supports Iran’s nuclear program.
Iran: The fact sheet doesn’t specifically mention access to facilities or inspections, but does say Iran would, on a voluntary and temporary basis, implement an “additional protocol” on access to nuclear facilities, “for the sake of transparency and confidence building.”
Key takeaway:
Intrusive inspections probably aren’t a great selling point for Iran’s domestic audience.
YET ANOTHER CAUSE FOR CONCERN HAS EMERGED:
ReplyDeleteUnder Iran’s comprehensive safeguards agreement with the IAEA, there is NO, NOT ONE, obligation for Iran to report the production of “yellowcake” from its mines as long as the uranium oxide it extracts has not reached a level of purity suitable for uranium enrichment or fuel fabrication. During the last two decades, a number of states exploited similar LOOPHOLES to bypass the IAEA verification scheme for their respective CLANDESTINE uranium conversion programs and other experiments. This LOOPHOLE was already identified as far back as the early 1990s. As a result, access to uranium mining and milling facilities—without nuclear material verification and reporting obligations—was included in the provisions of the Additional Protocol to the safeguards agreement as a measure to broaden IAEA safeguards.
Iran has NOT ratified the Additional Protocol and has only ever provisionally implemented it for a SHORT period of time, ENDING in 2006.
According to the latest OECD/IAEA report on global production of uranium, Iran has extracted more than 40 TONS of uranium from Gcchine. This is not a trivial amount. If JUST TEN TONS of such material is converted to uranium hexafluoride (gaseous form) and further enriched, this could produce enough highly enriched uranium for a single nuclear device.
FOR IRAN TO GRANT "MANAGED ACCESS" MEANS ALMOST NOTHING!
"Managed access" is IAEA jargon for a visit by inspectors to a nuclear or nuclear related installation. During a managed access inspectors have LIMITED access to a site, where the operator can SHROUD, inter alia, commercially sensitive information. During such access, inspectors are NOT verifying AMOUNTS of nuclear material but looking at the technical features of the installation to confirm the absence of undeclared ACTIVITIES.
However, the access has to be “managed” in such away that the inspectors can still meet their verification objectives.
LOOPHOLES...WHO USES THOSE, RIGHT?
SURELY NOT IRAN!
Iranian negotiators made clear that a dismantling of their facilities, including eliminating tens of thousands of centrifuge machines, a plutonium-producing reactor and an underground fuel-production site, wasn’t feasible, senior U.S. officials ADMIT.
ReplyDeleteObama said.: “Iran is not going to simply dismantle its program because we demand it to do so. That’s not how the world works, and that’s not what history shows us.”
BUT, Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif, for his part, said that while Iran will abide by the deal, “our facilities will continue.”
Iran’s diplomats have stuck to the line that NONE of the country’s nuclear facilities would be dismantled,
AND THEY WON'T! AMERICA CAVED IN!
Tehran’s unbending position succeeded in substantially shifting Washington’s overall objective for the talks, I.E., AMERICA, AS I SAID, CAVED IN.
BUT WHY?
I'M STILL LOOKING FOR THE ANSWER TO WHY THIS "DEAL", WHY NOW, WHY MAKE ALL THESE CONCESSIONS AND ENDANGER NOT JUST ISRAEL, BUT OUR AMERICAN FORCES IN THE MIDDLE EAST? AND WHY ISN'T THE RELEASE OF AMERICAN HOSTAGES PART OF THIS DEAL?
ANY GUESSES?
