I DON'T EVEN HAVE PICASA LOADED ON THIS LAPTOP.
SO, I'M TURNING TO MY READERS TO HELP ME IDENTIFY WHAT THIS IS ABOVE EARTH'S HORIZON IN A PHOTO ASTRONAUT REID WISEMAN TOOK FROM THE INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION, POSTED ON TWITTER AUGUST 7, 2014, WITH THE CAPTION " "A nice after dinner view of the snowcapped Andes looking northwest."
IT WAS PICKED UP BY ABC AND PLACED IN A SERIES OF SHOTS FROM THE ISS AT THEIR SITE HERE:
http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/photos/stunning-images-show-earth-25236226/image-25236360
^LOOK STRAIGHT UP FROM
THE POINT OF THE ^ UP THERE, ABOVE THE EARTH, TOWARD THE LEFT UPPER CORNER OF THE PHOTO, THE BRIGHT OBJECT IN THE BLACK SKY.
A SIMPLE ZOOM OF 400% SHOWED IT WASN'T.
BUT WHAT IS IT?
HERE IT IS ENLARGED AND ALONE.
SO THEN, I FLIPPED IT, ROTATED IT, AND GOT THIS...
IT SEEMS TO BE A FREE-FLOATING ?WHATEVER?, NOT ATTACHED TO ANYTHING, YES?
IS THE SPACE STATION BROKEN, HAS PART OF IT FALLEN AWAY?
IS THE BRIGHT OBJECT "SPACE JUNK"?
IS IT SOMETHING OBVIOUSLY QUITE LARGE THAT "BLEW OFF" SOMETHING ELSE WE OR RUSSIA OR CHINA OR INDIA, OR ??? SENT UP?
ON THE TWITTER PAGE, ONE GUY WAS INSISTENT THAT THE OBJECT IS AN EXTERNAL COOLING PANEL OF THE SPACE STATION.

HOW THE HELL CAN THAT BE WHEN THE SPACE STATION CAMERA IS SHOOTING TOWARD THAT OBJECT?
HOW FAR AWAY FROM THE SPACE STATION IS THE BRIGHT OBJECT?
LOOKS REALLY FAR AWAY TO ME, BUT MAYBE NOT?
IF THE ISS SHOT THIS PIC AS IT WAS APPROACHING THE ANDES, ABOVE WHAT PART OF EARTH DOES THE FAR OBJECT LIE?
I WILL APPRECIATE ANYONE WHO HAS A BETTER PROGRAM TO EDIT PICS WITH OR A BETTER KNOWLEDGE OF SPACE OBJECTS TO PLEASE TELL US WHAT THIS IS.
CURIOSITY IS OVER THE MOON ON THIS ONE...BUT, THAT IS NOT THE MOON...
DO I WANT IT TO BE A "UFO"?
WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE HIT IN THE MOUTH WITH A TEN-POUND HAMMER?
NO, THE ANSWER IS NO TO BOTH QUESTIONS.
I JUST WANT 100% POSITIVE ID, PLEASE, AND THANKS VERY MUCH.
I ALSO WOULD VERY MUCH LIKE A MONTH OR SO ABOARD THE ISS, IF ANY OF YOU HAVE CONNECTIONS...
