FUKUSHIMA CORIUM HAS SPREAD ALL OVER, IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND, IMPOSSIBLE TO STOP LEAKS

US government (NOAA) model

THE VIDEO ABOVE IS FROM 2014, BUT FUKUSHIMA IS STILL LEAKING, SO REWIND AND REPLAY THIS OVER AND OVER AGAIN, ADD NEW RADIATION DAILY...FOR THE NEXT 40 TO 1000 YEARS, SINCE TEPCO THINKS IT MAY TAKE AT LEAST 40 YEARS TO DEVELOP THE TECHNOLOGY TO BEGIN, JUST BEGIN CLEANING UP THE DAIICHI PLANT.

IT COULD TAKE 1000 YEARS TO GATHER AND KEEP GATHERING TO BURN ALL THE RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL THAT HAS ACCUMULATED SINCE THE DISASTER, ALL THE MATERIALS THAT ARE DAILY CONTAMINATED AND/OR RECONTAMINATED BY FALLOUT AND CONTACT WITH WASTEWATER, AND THE INCINERATORS JAPAN PLANS TO USE FOR THAT ARE STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION.

FROM A PROFESSOR AT THE KYOTO UNIVERSITY RESEARCH REACTOR INSTITUTE:

"Tepco believes that there are lumps of melted fuel and they have this idea that they are somehow going to… pluck out all of these lumps.

They’re saying that the first step they will take is to somehow plug the holes in the containment vessel… I believe this plan that has been presented is simply impossible to realize…

We don’t even have the technology or ability now even to determine where the holes are, and even if we were able to determine where the holes are, how can we possibly repair them?

We do not have the means to do so… I think the fundamental assumption of Tepco and the government that the melted fuel is sitting at the bottom in a nice little lump like a dumpling shape, I think that is impossible.
It’s an impossible proposition.

I cannot imagine that every bit of that melted fuel will be sitting nicely in one little lump, but rather it will have spread all over the place.

And it’s also possible that not only would they spread horizontally, it could be that some of the fuel could actually have gone through the floor of the containment vessel as well.
What I’ve just described is very, very logical for anyone who understands nuclear engineering or nuclear energy

The only possible way we can eventually deal with this accident is to do what was done at Chernobyl. Which is to create a concrete coffin or sarcophagus for the facility.

Like the spent fuel pool at Unit 4… Units 1-3 have pools that are filled with spent fuels and they must be removed, otherwise we cannot even think about building a concrete coffin…

How long will it take for the spent fuel rods to be removed to a slightly less dangerous place?
We have no idea.

I thnk Tepco and the Japanese government do not know how long this procedure will take…

How many years from now will that [sarcophagus] be done?
I cannot even begin to make a prediction
, in fact I probably will not be alive when the project starts.

Although the Chernobyl accident was a  terrible accident, it only involved one reactor.

With Fukushima, we have the minimum [of] 3 reactors that are emitting dangerous radiation.
[NOW WE KNOW THERE ARE 4 REACTORS LEAKING.]

The work involved to deal with this accident will take tens of years, hundreds of years."

[THE ABOVE QUOTED FROM A VIDEO BY Prof. Hiroaki Koide, Kyoto University Research Reactor Institute (retired), Apr 24, 2015, starting at 31:00 in (emphasis added)]

'SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN', IN ITS MARCH 2016 ISSUE STATES:
"5 YEARS LATER, THE FUKUSHIMA NUCLEAR DISASTER SITE CONTINUES TO SPILL WASTE".

THAT IS A REALLY LOUSY, TINY ARTICLE, BUT IT CITES ONE SOURCE AS:

THE WORLD NUCLEAR INDUSTRY STATUS REPORT 2015,” BY MYCLE SCHNEIDER AND ANTONY FROGGATT; JULY 2015 (first four items);

FROM THAT REPORT WE LEARN THAT...

"At present, radiation levels remain VERY HIGH inside the reactor buildings (several Sievert per hour) and make human intervention there impossible.

The problems is compounded by problems with various types of robots that have got stuck in the buildings and had to be abandoned.

Molten fuel debris removal is planned at units 1 and 2 in the first half of Financial Year (FY) 2020, and at unit 3 in the second half of FY2021

A 30-40-year period is expected to be needed to complete decommissioning, with work to begin in December 2021. Whether these timelines can be implemented remains questionable.

Large quantities of water (about 300 cubic meters per day) are continuously injected to cool the fuel debris. To reduce storage requirements for contaminated water, operator Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) installed decontamination systems and re-injects partially decontaminated rather than fresh water.

However, the systems have achieved only low operation rates because of technical problems and human errors.

Furthermore, due to underground intrusion of water into the basements, which are already filled with highly contaminated water, the net amount to be stored continues to increase by 300 to 400 tons every day, the equivalent of an additional 1,000-cubic-meter storage tank every 2.5 days.

The storage capacity onsite is now 800,000 cubic meters, the equivalent of 320 Olympic swimming pools. A groundwater bypass system and a Frozen Soil Wall are in preparation. However, the first trials of the ice wall have been disappointing.

[WE NOW KNOW THAT WALL FAILED MISERABLY.]
Waste generated by decontamination activities inside and outside the evacuation area has reached more than 157,000 tons by the end of 2014, according to government estimates.

[WHY NO REPORT FOR 2015?]

THE REPORT BASICALLY GOES ON TO SHOW THAT NUCLEAR ENERGY IS ANTIQUATED AND UNNECESSARY, AS WELL AS UNNECESSARILY EXPENSIVE AND HAZARDOUS.

  • Share of nuclear power in global electricity mix stable at less than 11% for a third year in a row.
A LOUSY 10% OF ALL ENERGY NEEDS ARE MET BY NUKES!
WE DON'T NEED IT!

  • China, Germany, Japan--three of the world’s four largest economies--plus Brazil, India, Mexico, the Netherlands, and Spain, now all generate more electricity from non-hydro renewables than from nuclear power. These eight countries represent more than three billion people or 45 percent of the world’s population.
  • In the UK, electricity output from renewable sources, including hydropower, overtook the output from nuclear.
  • Compared to 1997, when the Kyoto Protocol on climate change was signed, in 2014 there was an additional 694 TWh per year of wind power and 185 TWh of solar photovoltaics--each exceeding nuclear’s additional 147 TWh.
SEE?
WE SIMPLY DON'T NEED "THE MONSTER"..LIKE THE AUTHORS STATE AT THE BEGINNING, JAPAN HAS BEEN WITHOUT NUCLEAR POWER FOR 5 YEARS AND NOT ONE LIGHT WENT OUT IN THAT NATION...THEY DON'T NEED NUKES!

NOBODY NEEDS NUCLEAR POWER!

TEPCO-USNRC Knew Fukushima Was A Triple Meltdown

FROM AN INTERVIEW WITH A NUCLEAR ENGINEER WITH 40 YEARS EXPERIENCE, WHO GAINED AN ATOMIC ENERGY COMMISSION FELLOWSHIP IN 1972, WHO MANAGED AND COORDINATED PROJECTS AT 70 NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS IN THE U.S., AND WHO HAS A PATENT ON AN ENERGY ABSORBING TURBINE MISSILE SHIELD, REGARDING HIS RECENT TRIP TO FUKUSHIMA:
"GROUND ZERO", FEB. 17, 2016

"They’re only cleaning 20 feet on every side of the road. So all the dust and debris that’s up in the forests is being blown by the wind or washed by the rain right into people’s front yards again.
So wherever we look – one of the samples that one of my fellow scientists collected showed plutonium and significant amounts of plutonium. It was in a square meter.
So that’s 3 feet by 3 feet.
He was getting 19 disintegrations per second of plutonium. And that stuff hangs around for a quarter of a million years.

We went out to an incinerator. It’s under construction. And they plan to burn ten tons a day of material. Well, there’s 30 million tons of material up here.

So that means they’ll have it all done in 3 million days. That’s a long, long, long, long time.   A thousand years.

This incinerator is not working yet but their through-put is estimated to be ten tons a day. The scientist I was with went to the side of the road and scraped a sample – a small, small sample of radiation from the side of the road, from the dirty snow on the side of the road – was reading 400 counts per minute.

So wherever the ground is exposed, there’s high levels of radiation in the mountains around here. It runs right into the Pacific Ocean. When this snow melts, it’s not going to be collected. It’s all going to run right off and into the Pacific Ocean.

The amount of nuclear waste in one year – a nuclear power plant runs for one year and creates as much nuclear waste as 500 bombs.
So we’ve got 400 reactors running every year, that have been running for 40 years.
So we’re creating an enormous amount more waste than an atomic bomb ever would."

FROM THE WASHINGTON POST:
10 FEB. 2016
"NOBODY KNOWS WHAT TO DO WITH FUKUSHIMA"

JAPANESE GOVERNMENT CONSIDERING YET ANOTHER BAT GUANO INSANE "SOLUTION"...BURY IT ALL AT SEA!

"One of the options the Japanese government is considering is building a nuclear waste dump under the seabed, about eight miles off the Fukushima coast.

It would be connected to the land by a tunnel so it would not contravene international regulations on disposing of nuclear waste into the sea.
A government study group is set to report on that proposal by the end of the summer.

Many groups, from fishermen to anti-nuclear activists, staunchly oppose the idea of burying the radioactive material at sea in such a seismically active area.

"At some point it would leak and affect the environment," said Hideyuki Ban, co-director of the Citizens' Nuclear Information Center. "Some say it'll be fine, as it will be diluted in the ocean, but it's unclear whether it will be diluted well.
If it gets into fish, it could end up on someone's table."

Aileen Mioko Smith, executive director of Green Action, a Kyoto-based anti-nuclear group, agreed.
"The seabed is just like land. It's not flat, but has mountains and valleys," she said. "Japan sits on multiple tectonic plates and is earthquake-prone. It's too easy to think, 'If not on land, how about the seabed?' "

'JAPAN TIMES' REPORTED FEB. 20, 2016, ON STILL ANOTHER LOCO PLAN BY JAPAN:
“I wonder if the situation would be desired that work is still underway to extract fuel debris 70 or 80 years after” the nuclear disaster, NRA Commissioner Toyoshi Fuketa told reporters Friday.

“There are a variety of options, including removing as much fuel debris as possible and solidifying the rest,” he added.

RIIIIGHT, JERK...WHO EXPECTS JAPAN TO ACTUALLY CLEAN UP ITS BLOODY BIG MESS, RIGHT?
YOU WANT TO SPEND THE CLEANUP MONEY ON THE OLYMPICS, BRING PEOPLE THERE FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD, CONTAMINATE THEM, SEND THEM HOME TO AWAIT A CANCER DIAGNOSIS?
SURE, WHY NOT?

"His remarks could affect the decommissioning plan drafted by the government and the plant’s operator, Tokyo Electric Power Co. Under that scenario, fuel debris is to be disposed of over the course of 30 to 40 years.

Fuketa said that unlike the disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, it is “not realistic” to construct concrete buildings to cover reactors at the Fukushima No. 1 plant because the situation is different.

The commissioner also questioned whether construction of an underground ice wall around the reactor buildings to prevent radioactive water buildup will prove effective."

JUST LET IT LEAK, RIGHT?
PILE UP USELESS PLASTIC BAGS AND WORTHLESS CONTAINERS THAT ALLOW RADIATION TO FLOW FREELY INTO THE ENVIRONMENT...

BURN RADIOACTIVE WASTE ALL OVER JAPAN...

STOP MONITORING...

"On 2/10/2016, NRA (Nuclear Regulation Authority) announced they are going to abandon 2,500 of 3,600 radiation monitoring posts in Fukushima prefecture from April of 2017.

NRA states this is due to the limited resource such as budget and equipment.
2,500 posts to be removed are situated in public facility including schools."

JUST AS TOKYO IS SHOWING MORE SIGNS OF HIGH RADIATION...HOW CONVENIENT THEY WON'T HAVE TO GIVE TOKYO READINGS TO THE PUBLIC ANYMORE...OLYMPICS GAMES COMING THERE IN JUST 4 YEARS.

"2/16/2016, a citizen’s radiation measurement station “Iwaki citizen’s radiation measurement station” announced 559 Bq/Kg of Cs-137 was detected from vacuum cleaner dust in Tokyo.

The sampling location was Edogawa ward in Tokyo.

Also, 121 Bq/Kg of Cs-134/137 was detected from vacuum clear dust collected in Setagaya ward and 111 Bq/Kg of Cs-137 was measured from another sample in Kawasaki city of Kanagawa prefecture.

All of these samples were collected this December 2015."

LOOKS LIKE THEY FIND NEW AND IMPROVED WAYS TO MAKE CERTAIN NOTHING WILL LIVE OVER TEPCO'S AND ABE'S GREAT SCREW-UP.

JUST LET DAIICHI SIT THERE AND POISON THE ENTIRE PLANET WHILE ABE CHANNELS MONEY TO HIS OLYMPIC GAME, TO EXPANDING HIS MILITARY AND TO DEVELOPING THE BOMB.

IT IS THE TEA ROOM'S OPINION, TO WHICH I CLAIM MY RIGHT, THAT THE CURRENT JAPANESE REGIME HAS DECIDED TO TURN THE ENTIRE NATION INTO A TYPE OF "KAMIKAZE PLANE" AND SO GO OUT IN A BLAZE OF IMAGINED GLORY FITTING FOR A MAN WITH A VERY WARLIKE FAMILY HISTORY...ONE WHO HAS DECIDED HIS OWN AGENDA TRUMPS THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF THE ENTIRE WORLD.

MANY IN JAPAN ARE CALLING FOR ABE TO BE OUSTED IN ORDER TO SAVE JAPAN...
"We must oust Mr Abe or Japan could be destroyed".

In other parts of Japan protesters have began blocking roads, chanting and preventing politicians vehicles from leaving debates.

A FORMER JAPANESE AMBASSADOR SEES ABE'S MISTAKE:

Time has come for an 'honorable retreat' from Tokyo 2020 over Fukushima

"Citing concerns over Fukushima, the former Japanese ambassador to Switzerland recently proposed that Japan should stage an "honorable retreat" from hosting the 2020 Olympics while there is still time to select and prepare an alternative site."

SOME MEN HAVE NO CONCEPT OF HONOR...

AND FUKUSHIMA HAS NO "CURE" AS LONG AS ABE IS IN POWER AND TEPCO IS ALLOWED TO FAIL ANEW EACH DAY.
